Hello there awesome animal fact person! Lately I've come to love maned wolves. Their appearance is weird as it is but I'm wondering if you have some even weirder or cursed facts about them!

at nearly four fucking feet tall, maned wolves are the tallest canid in the world by a HUGE margin! 

and there’s a good reason for that- maned wolves live in grassland areas and mostly hunt small animals, so the long stilt-legs give them a literal leg up and let them see over the tall grass.

(probably still HELLA ticks in there, though.)

this elevated height also grants them a distinguished and imposing air...

...but only from the sides.

My mom is super “health” obsessed, or really, just doesn’t like the fact that I’m slightly pudgy.
