I have too many sketches I'm waiting to finish/post now, but have this one of my Flight Rising lair cause I think it's neat
[Start ID. White text on a black background. It reads "Dawn of The Final Day", and below that is "24 Hours Remain". End ID.]
The Moth of Snakemouth Den, and Bugaria’s Leading Expert in Archaeology
Read the Team Fakemouth swap au by @professorneolith and felt compelled to make this (it's actually relatively short and that blog hasn't been active in a year but idc!!)
(Headcanons, with spoilers:)
- Both moths are the same age as they are in canon, but the whole Snakemouth Lab: Cordyceps Failed Experiment thing happened significantly later, Neo's team is a different, younger one than canon Leif's, and all its members are still alive. (With the technical exception of Neolith.) Leif was never an explorer at any point in time.
- Kabbu got into Bugaria the same way as canon (and never got to enact his revenge on the Beast). Leif was the one who met/helped Kabbu in the Lost Sands this time, and Kabbu and Neo have no relation besides briefly meeting post-Snakemouth in the Outskirts. We don’t actually know anything about Eetl’s backstory but it’s safe to assume it’s the same as canon here.
- Vi ran away to the Wasp Kingdom instead of the Explorer's Association. She was/is general under Hoaxe (I always thought Fuff became general during Vanessa's rule rather than Hoaxe's but I'm not actually sure?), though she's immune to his control.
Not sure how battle would go but I'm assuming that unlike Fuff who's boastful until his backup gets knocked down, Vi's better at combat, underestimated, and too hubristic for teammates.
Going to stop writing now so I can just post this instead of waiting two more days
cordycat! cordycat!
I was looking through a lot of the posts of @lagt-duck because (hollow knight! undertale! spiritfarer! slime rancher!) and noticed they had, on several occasions, drawn and designed mushrooms. so I thought. mushrooms!
They had designed sort of humanoid fungal creatures, but I, in my love of biology and interestingly, entomology, realized there was an actual way fungi locomote. and that's by infecting bugs and using their undead bodies as hosts! Luckily, fungi like cordyceps can't actually control larger beings/vertebrates like humans and cats (though I'm not sure where the line blurs?)
The cat host is very much dead and Tan is the cordyceps within--not usually smug, but who wouldn't boast after finding a new body to move around in that's like, 28154x the size of your friends?
(They haven't...really...figured out expressions yet)
This is actually the first piece so far that's recent, since I have a lot of art to catch up to!
You asked for Hollow Knight OCs to draw and I have a couple :D
On top is Bellsinger, a very brash, matter-of-fact dewdrop harvester who takes her job extremely serious, often preferring the quiet working hours to any social situation. Though, despite this and her lacking social skills and often uncaring demeanor, she deeply craves a strong emotional connection with someone.
At the bottom is Moulin, part of a far away butterfly tribe, filling out the role of ceremonial caretaker of the tribe's dead. She's quiet and reserved but shows a lot of compassion for the families in mourning. She's a woman of few words when working with and for the dead, only talking when she deems it necessary, but the exact opposite when outside the grave grounds and at gatherings of joy and celebration.
Sorry for the late answer, this took longer than expected!
Them!! I like these two a lot already and I had fun with the pattern of Moulin's cloak/wings!
Message: Hey, really love your OC’s! They were very fun to draw and make a scene out of, they’re hanging out in Queens Garden with some good food and a Lifeblood who decided to hang out :)

been forever since i posted any art here so. wheat field i drew as a tribute after finishing portal 2 three months ago upon you all :]
[Start ID. A sketch-like, pixellated rendering of the seemingly endless wheat field at the end of Portal 2. The wheat is golden with harvest, and stretches out to fill the entire lower third of the frame, the sky is a deeper blue and dense with far-off clouds. Uncountable rows of almost-parallel lines, some much on the shorter side and others long and sweeping, shade and highlight the grasses, give texture to the sky and clouds, and halo the sun at the top center. Each of the four blues that make up the sky are the exact inverse of an orange tone in the field, and vice versa. End ID)
[Start ID. An edited version of the previous, wherein the transparency in the sun has been filled in with white and the sky with blue. An obvious filter has been overlayed which makes the whole piece look vertically striated, like the effect of an old computer or console screen, darkening it overall and creating odd tinges of red, green and magenta in some spots. End ID.]
Heya, I'm Peridots, your average digital artist/entomology enthusiast—they/it/he or any pronouns, please! Haven't actually posted much art in quite a while, so be prepared for occasional Bug Facts and other such randomness. Spam likes and such are all appreciated here! Terfs, zionists and the like can turn 180° for free, however! Profile art by original-character-chaos—oooooh looks like someone sent me perfectly pfp-shaped gift art of my sona a little too close to april fools!
