My fav dynamic in marauders is the complete and slightly unhealthy codependency James and Sirius have on each other

Like I’m positive when they left hogwarts instead of living with their partners they just owned a seperate house where they could live together

Sure they stayed with their partners sometimes but other times they just needed to be alone together

Remus: Oh. Where did I... put my jumper...

I adore the trans regulus headcannon and it’s something that brings me so much comfort, but I feel that we always just say he cuts his hair and wears stereotypical boys clothes and suddenly he passes completely, and I just feel as though we should sometimes delve much deeper into him NOT passing, and how that affects the way he lives life, because not everyone’s trans journeys are the same, and not everyone passes, and yet in things like fanfics and stories the trans characters pass even though that’s not true to the experiences of lots of trans people, and although I don’t know if other non passing trans people feel like this, it makes me feel like I’m less or not valid because people wouldn’t look at me and think that I was a boy.

i just imagine james, remus, and alice has this support group for people dating members of the black family and the first few weeks james started dating regulus he needed a lot of help like

james: so he was ranting and i said “you’re being dramatic” and he—

remus: wait wait you called him dramatic?

alice: *shakes her head* rookie mistake

james: but he was being dramatic!

alice: yeah of course he is! he’s a black! they are drama queens! but you never tell them that!

remus: you just let them be dramatic and you react accordingly!

alice: when they go “im gonna kill them” you say “i’ll help you hide the body”

james: oooohh *pulls out a notepad* tell me more

What guts me about OOTP is that the entire order felt safe at the cost of one order member feeling triggered, unsafe and depressed. It’s such a coldly utilitarian outlook on part of those who are essentially the good guys to just go “suck it up” everytime Sirius subsequently displays signs of depression or anxiety. Like the idea of an unplottable safe house is so convenient, what’s one convicted mass murderer (who’s a Black) innocent or otherwise in the grand scheme of the greater good? Who cares if justice is never achieved and the innocent remain oppressed? What use is a paltry pardon when it’s over a decade of lost time, reputation, mental stability? What difference does it make given that Sirius was from a magical bloodline prone to mental health issues and would have gone off the “deep end” anyway? What did the life of one man matter against the weight of glorious destiny?

takes him a while to fall asleep

cuts his hair by himself, or marlene does it for him. he doesn’t cut his during the summer, despite getting hot, he just puts it up

he’s a morning person, and he can also function on little to no sleep

he loves driving, he’s the only one out of his friend group to have a driving license and to actually drive

really flexible

does other people’s essays and assignments for cigarettes. the charging depends on the subject, how long it has to be, and whether the person he’s helping wants it to be longer than it’s supposed to be or not

very competitive

doesn’t talk to a lot of people, and he’s very selective of the people he talks to, because he thinks that quite a few people are wasting his time

chainsmoker

took him quite a while to start getting along with lily; she thought he is arrogant and stuck up, he considered her to be annoying

fiercely protective of his friends

used to get along really well with bellatrix, due to their similarities. during family events, they always snuck out together (sometimes accompanied by their siblings), gossiping and smoking

really high pain tolerance, it’s actually scary
