Okay my brain is fried but I must type something out so here have a transgender Obi-Wan codywan au that nobody asked for-

So like, disclaimer, I don't hate Satine but she is painted in a negative light in this au idea so please know that I don't actually think she's a shitty person or character, but I am using her as like the asshole in this AU and I apologize in advance, please don't hate me.

But I was thinking about that "I don't like your beard" line but in the context that Obi-Wan is ftm trans, and, when he had a thing with Satine, it was pre-transition.

And in this, Satine is a lesbian and she's not over [I'm gonna go with Obiaania as his dead name, Obi for short] when he shows back up to help her with Concordia/Death Watch.

And like, she heard Jedi Master Kenobi is coming to investigate, and was expecting someone very different. Which is why she's very passive-aggressive flirting-but-not with him the whole time. She calls him Master Kenobi, or Obi, but not Obi-Wan, because she misses her girlfriend who she isn't over, and though she doesn't want to be openly antagonistic, she feels betrayed.

And Obi-Wan is just. Sad because he still likes Satine a lot, and was hoping they could reconnect as friends, seeing as they can't be lovers anyways. But she's pushing his buttons, and making sly digs at who he used to be, and it gets on his nerves really fast.

Enter Anakin, Rex, and Cody after the investigation, as they prepare to ship out to Coruscant to prevent republic forces from being sent to handle the Death Watch and Separatist threat. Anakin is oblivious, because he is, Ahsoka and Padmé have all his brain cells. He misses the underlying issues and teases Obi-Wan about his "girlfriend" which makes Obi-Wan uncomfortable for obvious reasons. (I'm thinking Obi-Wan has never brought up his gender identity to Anakin, because it's not important, and not his business, and doesn't affect their training at all. And Anakin has seen him shirtless at some point obviously but his first thought at seeing scars on Obi-Wan's chest isn't "top surgery", it's probably more like "mission gone wrong", so Anakin is just, clueless.)

Cody however, files Obi-Wan’s medical reports and IS aware of the situation, and immediately dislikes Satine, and maybe at some point drags Anakin aside to tell him to back off about the girlfriend jokes without outing Obi-Wan to him.

And like, the last straw for Cody is when Satine is walking off the ship with Obi-Wan and goes "I don't like your beard, it hides too much of your pretty face". Like obviously Obi-Wan and Cody aren't going to fight her there in broad daylight but Cody is thinking about it.

Idk I just want Cody to step in and go "Lucky for you, you won't have to see his handsome face again. I have to look at his mug everyday, and I happen to like the beard," or something.

Anyways she leaves, and Obi-Wan looks at Cody like "So you think I'm handsome, hm?" And Cody's just "only a blind fool wouldn't."

And more mushy soft flirting and hugs and comfort because they deserve it.

Sorry this post is a whole mess and a half but I just couldn't stop thinking about this ahah. I'm not gonna write it but if anyone wants to add on or adopt it please feel free to ♡♡♡

Flotsam and Jetsam (Part One)

The first chapter (after the prologue) of “Flotsam and Jetsam” is up over on ao3! I will be posting a chapter every Monday! The entire thing is completed and I am working on the follow-up. (A sequel, from me? I know!)

Anyway, this is the mer!Cody and living by the sea!Obi-Wan au. Set in the 1940s. Warnings for PTSD, suicidal ideation, talk of major injuries, past major character death (none in the fic), commentary on mental health care in the past.

“Flotsam and Jetsam” is Codywan, explicit (eventually), and big on both physical and emotional hurt/comfort. Six total chapters (two of which are already up). You may recognize the prologue as an entry from whumptober, which spawned this entire AU. Hope you enjoy!

Clone genetic enhancement ideas

So the clones were genetically enhanced, but i don’t really see any writers (in fanfic or in published stuff) really exploring what that MEANS beyond “clone very stronk”. Here are some ideas that would actually make clones significantly different from just a regular-ass human in peak condition.

-enhanced senses: eyesight, hearing, etc. I’m talking eyes like a HAWK

-better reflexes

-quicker information processing

-can hear sounds of higher and lower frequency than standard humans

-can see light of a broader spectrum than human standard

-learn quicker, retain information and skills better (potential problem: if you learn something the WRONG way, that way might stick really well)

-photographic memory (really useful for memorizing layouts and maps)

-immunity to various diseases

-can tolerate a wider range of temperatures and environments

-increased stamina and strength baseline. Clones can just run full-tilt for hours and hours and be like “ah a nice stroll”. Over long distances, they can out-pace jedi in the same way that humans can out-pace horses.

-higher tolerance of certain poisons/toxins (clones can straight-up drink ethanol, and get maybe a little tipsy)

-bodies respond quickly to physical stress, and slowly to the absence of it (basically, this means that physical conditioning results in stronger muscles and a stronger cardiovascular system really quickly, and it takes MUCH longer for a clone to lose strength and conditioning due to not exercising than standard humans. Think how much valuable training time is saved if they only have to go on a run like, once a month in order to stay in shape)

-increased ability to function through intense pain and acute injuries. Basically, semi-disabling the pain system so it’s less distracting. Probably not good for the survival of the individual in many situations, but an advantage on the battlefield.

-heal faster and better, with fewer long-term complications. Clones can dislocate their shoulders and NOT have the joint be permanently fucked up, because the Kaminoans re-designed the whole damn thing to suck WAY less.

-actually, unique internal anatomy. There’s probably a lot about the human body besides the shoulder joint that is actually just really stupid, and something no intelligent designer would actually build. So the Kaminoans can fix a lot of that stuff. Better knees, maybe. Stronger ribs. Maybe Cody punches droids not just because he’s a mad bastard, but also because his metatarsals are literally as strong as steel.

-Hearing loss/hearing damage? No problem, your ear can regrow those little hair-thingies that help you hear.

-Of course, it takes energy to maintain muscle mass, which is why human bodies lose it if we’re not using it. Clones need significantly more calories than standard humans. However, their digestive systems are enhanced to extract calories and nutrients from food much more efficiently, so food goes much farther. Potential weird side effect: maybe clones only have to poop like, once a week?

-You could probably extend that into increased ability to tolerate long periods without food/on low rations, despite the increased need for calories.

-wouldn’t it be NEAT if the kaminoans somehow designed self-repairing DNA. This would mean that others couldn’t take a DNA sample from a clone and modify it to create their own clones (basically, it protects their product. It’s like DRM for clones). This ALSO means that clones couldn’t get cancer, and that they’d be immune to radiation poisoning. So a clone could just walk up to a sphere of uranium at critical mass and pick it up. Maybe with oven mitts on if it’s hot. (this would also make it harder for a rapid-aging cure to be developed, but uhhhh fanfic writers find a way)

- “bred for obedience” I think most of this would have to be accomplished through tightly-controlled messaging and cultural norms as the clones grow up- basically, enshrining obedience as a desirable and almost sacred trait, to be prized higher than anything else, including the lives of your brothers. In the same way that we hear stories of people sacrificing their lives to protect their loved ones, the clones would grow up hearing stories of soldiers sacrificing their brothers’ lives to obey an order from a superior.

-SOME of the “obedience” thing could be engineered, though. Humans are already super social, but it would probably make sense for the clones to have an even greater need for social bonds. This would make for greater teamwork and coordination, and better unit cohesion, since the clones would be more inclined to prioritize friendship/agreeing with someone over winning an argument. It would also make it so they’d bond with their natural-born generals more easily, so they would obey them not just because they’re supposed to, but because they’d be much quicker to see them as a friend, and someone who’s trust they want to earn, someone they want to incorporate into their group and make happy.

-consequently, clones who find themselves alone do NOT do well. Isolation has a much more profoundly negative impact on clones than on regular humans.

-Originally, clones designed to operate alone or in small teams would not have the social enhancement- ARC troopers, spec-ops teams, etc. There wouldn’t be much of a noticeable difference in everyday interactions, but they’d also be vaguely weirded out by what they interpret as aggressive friendliness from their brothers, and their brothers would think they’re a bit shy and standoffish.

-actually this social modification would make it MUCH harder for clones to kill people. REGULAR HUMANS are already super bad at killing people- i remember reading this article about how as soon as soldiers have to point their weapons at actual people, their aim gets mysteriously much shittier. Even when compared to situations that are exactly the same, except they’re not shooting at other humans. So reconcile this how you will, idk.

-I imagine a lot of these enhancements would be accomplished not through DNA, but through microorganisms. Retroviruses could explain the DNA resistant to modification, and the increased healing speed, and possibly some disease resistance (do i know anything about retroviruses other than a vague concept of what they are? no i do not. will that stop me? also no.) Their metabolism can be partially explained through specially engineered gut microbes.

-not sure how they’d go about making clones “resistant to any stress”, because you can’t exactly turn off the trauma response in the brain without breaking a bunch of other things. They could probably do a bit of fiddling to make clones more resistant to chemical imbalances, and therefore more depression-resistant. I think most of the “stress-resistance” would have to come through training. Either they train the clones to basically suppress everything, which might work alright in the short term. OR they actually have systems in place that help prevent the development of things like PTSD and help treat trauma. Meaning the clones are literally trained in self-care, positive self-talk, talking about their pain with their brothers, and having community rituals around things like death and grief. I don’t think that’s super likely because one thing that’s integral to those concepts is the concept of “i am a person and i have worth, and if i feel angry about something bad happening, that is ok and valid” and considering that a whole lot of bad things happen to the clones all the time and their childhood is a whole boatload of bad all happening at once, i don’t think the kaminoans would want the clones realizing “hey wait a minute i’m a person and i don’t deserve to be treated this way and it’s ok for me to be mad at you”.

- the clones were supposedly engineered to be “less aggressive” but i think there was literally nothing more to that than a cover story for the control chip. The clones wouldn’t be raised with a lot of the aggressive western concept of masculinity, where anger is the default reaction to like, everything, and your personal pride is extremely important and also fragile (no offense lmao). So you wouldn’t have clones posturing and getting angry over perceived slights and fighting each other all the time, like everyone in-universe apparently expects to be the case. Anyway, why would you want your soldiers to be less aggressive? they’re literally supposed to fight and kill the enemy. You want them fully capable of getting angry, anger is the human response to fear and danger that lets us DO something about it.

-obviously the biggest component in how they behave would be how they are raised, but that’s an entirely different post

-Specializations! I imagine that initially, the Kaminoans had different clones with different traits engineered specifically to fill certain roles. However, as the war went on, they struggled to keep up with demand and had to start shoving clones into whatever roles were needed (hence Fives and Echo becoming ARCs, despite not being engineered as ARC troopers).

-Command clones would have better abilities in the executive function parts of the brain that deal with extrapolation, planning ahead, spatial reasoning, etc. They’d also have increased visual pattern recognition (like a pigeon)

-search-and-rescue troops would also have the pigeon pattern recognition abilities. The coast guard literally strapped pigeons to helicopters who would tap a button when they saw orange in the water, because they were better at spotting it than humans. Pigeons can detect cancer in microscope images of cells, because they’re that good at pattern recognition

-Pilots would have hella reflexes, excellent spatial awareness and spatial reasoning skills, much greater ability to process visual information, stronger hearts and blood vessels (to resist greater Gs of force), and they’d also be much shorter, to better fit into a cockpit. Which reminds me of Axe, that poor bastard from Ahsoka’s squadron over Ryloth who was almost eight feet tall. rip poor Axe, how did you even become a pilot, you long bastard.

-medics who can smell certain diseases. If you want to get a little bit out there, make the medics able to purr so they can sooth stressed-out patients.

-infantry would have even greater endurance than everyone else, as well as greater tolerance for, and ability to, remain constantly on alert.

-ability to fall asleep at will? that would be super dope.

-maybe more efficient sleep, so to an adult clone, 4 hours of sleep is genuinely sufficient.

-concept: clones can sort of turn down their bodily functions- slow their digestion, heart, lungs, the whole nine yards- to last longer in adverse conditions. Sort of a half-hibernation (or quarter hibernation- they’d still be able to talk and think, but they’d feel very lethargic). They wouldn’t be able to function very well, but it would be great for things like enduring intense cold, periods without food, low-oxygen environments, and it would be especially useful if you were wounded and waiting for help, since you could slow your circulation, meaning it would take you a lot longer to bleed out. This state could be triggered by a combination of physical actions such as sitting or lying still, breathing slowly and deeply, and focusing on slowing the heart down (humans can actually slow down their hearts consciously if you practice at it, this is basically that, but turned up to like 1100).

-one thing that never made sense to me was the whole “we’re running out of jango fett’s DNA, all the new clones won’t be as good, and we have to stop ventress from stealing the original DNA” because like, can’t they just, get the EXACT SAME DNA from the clones?? you know, the exact genetic copies? With all the enhancements already done? But now my idea is that the kaminoans have engineered the clones so their DNA straight up can’t be copied. The clone’s own body can obviously replicate it, but if you take a sample and try to extract the DNA, it just self-destructs or something. This is to protect their intellectual property, but also means that they literally have to use a couple of Jango Fett’s actual human cells for every single clone they make (and the fact that they then have to do all the above enhancements to every single embryo helps explain why there’s so many small mutations, such as hair color and height). So they kinda shot themselves in the foot with that one.

-of course since things like ADHD and autism have a strong genetic component, the kaminoans could theoretically engineer those out of the clones, but actually FUCK THAT so for whatever reason, that’s just not something they are able to do, and neurodivergent clones are absolutely a thing

Angst n5 w/ Fives and Dogma?đŸ„ș

image

I was 100% worried I would not be able to write this properly. These are both characters I haven’t really written- if anything I have barely written any of the clones. I love them, each and every single one. I just turn into this anxious mess of a ball that is afraid I am going to slaughter them with my words.

I have a lot of feelings about how Dogma’s blind loyalty was used against him. He made many mistakes, but he was so painfully manipulated. He and his vod’e deserved so much better.

SO ONTO THE ANGST~!

“Forget it, you’re a fucking asshole.”

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

I’m fine, Sir.

The blaster trembled, the kriffing blaster trembled in his hands. If he closed his eyes then he could see how each piece of it vibrated thanks to the shaking of his limbs. Krell was laughing at him. His vod’e were against him because he had been so blind, so painfully blind.

You ever think that the General knows what he is doing?

He had nearly dragged Tup down with him. He had followed along after the person he had thought he was supposed to trust. His brothers had cried out, lashed hard against the injustices, but he had kept his feet on the path he had chosen. Each footfall stained his soul.

Well I, for one, agree with the General’s plan!

Vod’e turned on vod’e. The sound of each shot rang in his ears as they fell like training droids. Broken, twisted, betrayed. They had raised their weapons against each other because they had been manipulated and yet his eyes still refused to see the truth. What the mind could see, the heart rejected. 212th against 501st.

Betrayed.

Dead.

I think you’re all overreacting.

They had been made for the Jedi. They had been trained for the Jedi.

They had been corrupted by the Jedi.

Unmarked graves lived in his mind and he told himself that the General cared. The General felt each of their deaths, rather like he felt each death. The Remembrance was growing longer as more and more of his vod’e kept marching on.

NO! WE HAVE ORDERS!

When he closed his eyes he could see Fives grabbing the blaster from his hands. He could see Rex smiling at him. The Jedi was dead. There would be no Remembrance for the monster that had played with them like toys. The vod’e, he realized far too late, always came first. Dogma knew he should have believed sooner, listened to his mind sooner, should have just done anything sooner. He had argued that the General cared, that he knew what he was doing, and the payment for that blind loyalty was genocide.

You were the biggest fool of all, Dogma.

“So what happens now,” he leaned his head against the wall as he kept his gaze averted. He didn’t want to see the heartbreak in Fives’ eyes. His wrists sported new ornaments suited for his rank. Traitor. Jedi Killer. The Fool.

Prisoner.

“They mentioned a trial, vod,” Fives sank down onto the bench in the hallway. A faint sound of discomfort or exhaustion left him. Dogma wasn’t sure which it was, but he had to guess it had to do with the fact the war kept dragging on. He didn’t even know how long his brother would be planetside, but he knew he was wasting time by being here with him. Time better suited for anyone else.

“I...did the right thing,” he whispered more to himself than anything. General Krell wouldn’t have stopped, he would have just kept on using vod’e like cannon fodder because they were just clones. Clones were grown to die. Dogma hated himself, but what he hated most of all was how Krell had shaken his faith in loyalty.

“Yeah, you did the right thing. We aren’t going to let you go down for this,” Fives’ voice was pitched low so only he could hear him. “Dogma, none of us blame you-”

A dry laugh escaped him as he shook his head. The action made it feel like the very air was scratching at his eyes. They burned. “I blame me.”

“Dogma, just listen to me-”

“Forget it, you’re a fucking asshole.” His eyes kept on burning as his cheeks grew wet. If he kept his gaze averted, set on the wall, then neither of them would mention it. “You shouldn’t have come here. You should be with someone who deserves your loyalty.”

He had to push Fives away, had to push away any other vod’e that might show up. They didn’t need to be corrupted by him. They needed to march forward without worrying about what he hadn’t done fast enough. The sound of a fist slamming into the forcefield had him jumping slightly. His head lolled to the side and he fixed Fives with a look.

“You deserve our loyalty! We look after our own, you bastard.”

Dogma couldn’t fight the sad smile that curled across his lips. “But I didn’t, vod, but I didn’t.”

I counted on blind loyalty like yours.

Since I spend an inordinate amount of time staring at Obi-Wan, I cannot help but noticed that he wears his robe differently from other Jedi. Granted, the Jedi's outfit are not identical but they has similar design. Obi-Wan, even though is wearing pretty much the same as Mace, has his inner robe collar higher and more tightly wrapped. This is remarkably different from when he was a Padawan/Knight, now that he is a Master. What do you think? As a writer, do you have any headcanon or theories?

Ah, my dear Anon, you have touched a nerve here!! Yes, I have noticed it. AND IT DRIVES ME INSANE. Prepare yourself for a ridiculously long reply (forgive me!!!).

(I feel the need to drop a disclaimer here, right at the beginning. I am a history nerd
 like
it’s a driving passion. So please excuse any excessive shouting that takes place during this post.)

WHAT ARE JEDI ROBES BASED ON?

I think to begin we need to at least put into context what the Jedi costumes are modeled after. There are 2 major historical reference points for Jedi robes.

1. Tunics and Tabards worn by knights:

image

Tunics are worn under the tabard, and sometimes there’s even an under-tunic that goes, you guessed it, under the main tunic. The tabard went over the tunic and was often split between the legs so the warrior could walk, fight, and ride a horse more easily.

2. The Japanese Kimono:

image

Holy crap, do you have any idea how hard it is to find a picture of a proper men’s kimono that isn’t a bathrobe???? The pic I ended up finding isn’t exactly what I wanted but I think you get the general idea. Fun side fact: the large belt worn around a kimono is called an obi :) How interesting

So, as you can see, the Jedi wear something that is a mix of these two historical vestments:

image

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OBI-WAN KENOBI’S ROBES??

You’re right, Anon, in The Phantom Menace Kenobi’s attire is really quite open and loose. Anyone else remember seeing Obi-Wan’s chest, because I certainly do
and I would like to see even more of it!

image

Well
I guess you kind of see his throat
but I’ll take whatever I can get.

Side note: Do you also remember how we got to see Kenobi covered in sweat?? Please don’t tell me I was the only person who enjoyed that :)

image

Both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have loose fitting tunics and tabards that are open at the neck.

image

Can I take a moment to point our how utterly RIDICULOUS the size of their sleeves are??? It is COMPLETELY impractical from a fighting point of view. This is why vambraces and bracers exist!!! Please use them, Star Wars!!!

image

See, Dave Filoni gets it!!! They gave Kenobi some pretty sweet vambraces in The Clone Wars
because NO JEDI WANTS TO MAKE A FOOL OF HIMSELF BY GETTING CAUGHT UP IN HIS OWN MASSIVE BELL SLEEVES WHILE TRYING TO PERFORM ACTS OF HEROISM!!!!!!

image

For god’s sake, the sleeves are so fucking massive they actually billow in the breeze!!!!

image

Moving on

In Attack of the Clones Obi-Wan is suddenly super uptight and sporting a godforsaken mullet, which I can almost forgive in this scene because he is still beautiful

image

And in Revenge of the Sith Kenobi is practically swallowed up and choking on an INSANE amount of fabric

image

None of this is PRACTICAL!! WHY WOULD YOU GO TO WAR DRESSED LIKE THIS?!?!?!?!?! I mean, look at Ewan trying to get his sleeve on. He needs a bloody assistant to help him!!!

image

IS THIS SYMBOLIC OR IS THIS PURE STUPIDITY?

image

You know what? I’m still not sure if this costume is brilliant or laughable.

Symbolically you can say that Obi-Wan became more set in his ways as he transitioned from TPM to ROTS, that he became more constricted by his beliefs and less able to stray from the Jedi Code. His costume develops more layers and thicker fabric and it’s bound very tightly around his throat. It looks rather heavy and stifling and suffocating.

However, if you take CW Kenobi into account, it kind of makes that transition from AOTC to ROTS a little harder to understand. He’s less fanatical in The Clone Wars; you can see little moments of Obi-Wan’s conflict – there’s a lot of “do as I say, not as I do” in CW Kenobi.

As a writer I guess I see his costume in 2 different ways. In ROTS Obi-Wan is a Jedi Master in his prime, wearing all the symbolic pieces of a powerful uniform. It’s bigger and more imposing because he is bigger and more powerful than ever. However, he has been through incredibly painful experiences. And though he has remained true to the Jedi Code, the harder he clings to his ideals, the more suffocating and toxic they become. The very fact that his tunic creeps higher and higher up his neck makes me feel almost as if it were going to choke him.

WAS THE JEDI COSTUME AN ACCIDENT?

Do you want to know why I think this costume might just be stupidity? The Jedi robes were an accident. Technically, Luke is wearing Jedi clothes in Return of the Jedi. He has a tunic and tabard, but his clothes are close-fitting and more practical for movement and dexterity:

image

I’ve read that at the end of Return of the Jedi, when Anakin appears with Obi-Wan and Yoda as Force ghosts, that was a last minute decision by the filmmakers and they did not have a costume planned. So they grabbed whatever fit the actor – a massive robe from a character that had lived on Tatooine. The massive robes that Obi-Wan wears in A New Hope were not necessarily meant to be his Jedi robes but rather meant as desert-appropriate-attire. Look who else is wearing them:

image

I’m fairly certain his robe is actually a terrycloth bathrobe ^^^ LOL!!

image

Even baby Luke is wearing a Jedi-like tunic in A New Hope.

Honestly, though, either way, whether it was a mistake or it was deliberate, costumes in films are always supposed to tell you something about the character. So if you’ve noticed that Obi-Wan is wearing his costume in a way that makes him different, that’s done on purpose by the filmmaker and it’s brilliant that you picked up on it. Well done, Anon!!!

This is the longest post in all of history
goodbye for now. Sorry I rambled on for so long :)

Top 10 Codywan Fics in no particular order I can’t rank these. They’re all good. AKA fic recs

These are not in order! Just my top ten fics from these hopeless boys.

1. These Things Happen Rating T. Summary: Obi-wan Kenobi keeps promoting Cody. The promotion gets out of hand, and suddenly the balance of the universe shifts into the palm of a very competent, caffeinated man. Why on the list? Well, first of all I love me a good crack fic that is written nicely and flows well. Also I just? straight up love? the chapter? about Taxes that made me laugh so hard. The relationship Cody has with everyone else in the story is just
good. It’s so good. And the FIRST PART IS A CHAT FIC and im. not gonna lie i’m a sucker for those.

2. httpsCC-2224 (Cody)’s Guide to Obi-Wan Kenobi Rating T. Summary: a collection of one- and two-shots in cody’s pov, and his adventures and thoughts on the 212th’s general.  Why? So I know this isn’t like HEAVY codywan and I don’t always need it but his fic is really good. There’s some really nice chapters in here and I love just the whole relationship and dynamics between everyone it is so good.  3. Cùile Anam Rating G. Summary: In a universe where sentients can only see in black and white until they meet their soulmates, Jedi are born seeing color. It is said that their souls are bound to the Force and need no one else to complete them.Obi-wan Kenobi, as it so happens, was missing a color. Why? Because it’s written so beautifully. Cody and Obi-Wan have BARELY INTERACTED YET AND ITS STILL SO GOOD listen. There’s more than just their relationship at play and there’s platonic soulmates TOO. It’s really well written and well- just read it. Please. It’s ongoing!  4. diogenes (what makes a man?) Rating T. Summary: Why does he get a name and I don’t?Cody, grappling with identity, purpose, and what it means to be a brother. Why? It’s a good study on clones. I love the kind of character study aspect and! Ace! Obi! I’m! feeling! the REP. It’s really well written and has a post order 66 aspect of it. There’s also TRANS CLONES and NONBINARY CLONES and ITS *chefs kiss*

5. Take A Chance On Me Rating T. Summary: Eventually five chapters with different stages of Codywan. Why? Soft, gay yearning? Pining? Kissing for a mission? Teasing vode? what more could you ask for!

6.do you love me Rating T. Summary:In a universe where Mandalore did not become pacifist, where Jango Fett took up the darksaber and the title of Mand'alor and reunited the clans after a last, devastating civil war, there are three Fett children: Cody, Rex, and Boba, with Cody taking up the title as Duke as the eldest. In this same universe, Obi-Wan Kenobi is more involved with his homeworld’s politics and government, while still holding a position as a Jedi Knight. Their worlds could not be more different. When Stewjon reaches out to Mandalore for protection from pirates and other thieves, Mandalore agrees, with one condition: clan ties must be made. A member of Stewjon’s government must marry Mandalore’s Duke. They choose Obi-Wan Kenobi. Why? I was a bit skeptical at first about this one. I wasn’t too sure how I would feel about an arranged marriage fic. BUT BY GOD IS IT GOOD. THE WAY IT HANDLES MANDALORE AND THE MAUL ARC I JUST UHHHGHHHGHHG its really good. There’s a lot of pining and angst and fluff and it just real good.

7. Will you hold me tight and not let go? Rating E. Summary: "Thank you,“ he croaks out, wincing at the harsh, broken sound of his voice. He tastes blood in his mouth.Meanwhile, the figure slowly raises their hand, peels off their goggles and–Cody’s heart stops.—Cody is abandoned by the squadron on Tattooine as a punishment. He finds more there than just memories. Why? Well my friends this is post order 66 and it is. GOOD. I love how theres a gentle progression to it. Plus there’s a second part from obi’s perspective. I just. Love me some nice post order 66 fics.

8.Obi-Wan "The Therapist” Kenobi and How He Changed Everything Rating G-T. Summary:  Pushed to and perhaps past his limit, Obi-Wan takes on some “drastic” (read: logical) new views on his beliefs and things start to fall into place from there.Or how the clones get the care they deserve and Obi-Wan accidentally changes the world. Why? Well actually this is a series! and it is! so good! I love! how much Obi-Wan cares for the men and I love how it plays out. It’s post Umbara and there’s a lot of Appreciating Clone Hours in it.

9.Books and Cherry Blossoms Rating T Summary: Cody definitely didn’t expect to meet a gorgeous man in the library, he was fully prepared to silently weep over is due assignments. Apparently seeing someone injure themselves is a great distraction.Maybe the amazing thighs definitely helped. Why? Gay college students. GAY COLLEGE STUDENTS. Modern au where they’re in college and theyre GAY and brothers will be brothers. Its also ongoing, well written and i just want them to kiss.

10.Say You Won’t Let Go Rated T. Summary: “Get in the smuggling compartment, then,” Cody says. “We’ll be there in a minute.”He’s not moving without a promise.“Cody-” Obi-Wan starts.Cody doesn’t let him finish. “You gonna promise me, Obi? Or are we just going to stand here until the stormtroopers show up?”[aboard the Millennium Falcon, on their way to the Death Star, Obi-Wan makes Cody a promise] Why? It’s short, yes but this fic is. SOFTE. I love the idea of the fic and it was!!! really nice.

Clone Wars had the best character dynamics because every character fulfilled the role of either the voice of reason or the reckless idiot, except they all constantly flip flopped between those two roles depending on who they were interacting with in that episode. For example, Obi-wan is the voice of reason when you put him with Anakin, but he’s the reckless idiot if you put him with Cody. Padme is either the voice of reason who keeps Anakin in line, or she’s the reckless idiot who tries to solve a murder mystery while Bail tags along to keep her ass from getting shot. Anakin and Ahsoka were constantly switching places with each other on the reckless-to-reasonable scale. Sometime he was the idiot, sometimes she was the idiot, but most of the time they were both idiots and Rex was the voice of reason for both of them. However, Rex himself was also the reckless idiot to Cody’s voice of reason. In fact, the only consistency here is that Cody is always the voice of reason no matter what, and that’s why he is the single most competent person in the entire Republic.

Title: The Cost Of War Written By: @notquiteaghost Read By: @reena-jenkins Rating: General Audiences

Title: The Cost of War Written by: @notquiteaghost Read by: @reena-jenkins Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: CC-2224 | Cody/Obi-Wan Kenobi Characters: CC-2224 | Cody, Obi-Wan Kenobi Additional Tags: Podfic, Hurt/Comfort, kinda sorta ish, sometimes instead of actually going to therapy, you just have a lot of very heavy conversations with your husband, and you know what thats valid, #ITPE 2019

Summary:

a true patriot knows the cost of war. pays for it himself.

Every new batch of shinies gets younger, somehow.

Not— Well, yes, actually younger. They’re sending them out at eight now, like that’s anything but insane. (Like sending them out at ten wasn’t insane, never mind how convinced the Kaminoans are of the success of their training, never mind how the casualty rates of shinies are disproportionately high because dammit but Rex is right and nothing ever beats out actual experience—)

But younger somehow else, too. Around the eyes, the set of their jaw, how they still suppress the smallest flinch at sudden noises. Cody looks at them and thinks of Domino squad, of Tano, of every civvie kid scrambling to cover from aerial strikes or running through market stalls laughing or sending the 212th earnest, excited holo messages he’s sure Obi-Wan isn’t actually supposed to show them.

Cody- No one can survive a fall from that height Kenobi in the Rako Hardeen arc- *falls off a building and is absolutely fine*

Ok now you got me thinking on whether or not this is supposed to be a testament to how Obi Wan is too good at taking a beating.

image

Of course, there is the fact that the falling off the building thing was part of the whole “faking his death” thing so I imagine he prepped how to fall in a way that looked really convincing.

But at the same time
the man could also just be super resilient.

And I don’t know if I should be scared or impressed that Obi Wan was willing to fall off a fricking building and land on some really hard looking boxes to convince people he was dead.
