Get three towel hooks for hand towels in your bathroom. Label them "guests", "friends", and "enemies". Put regular towels on two of them and one of those water-dissolving prank towels on one - whichever one you think is the funniest. Invite people over, and wait until one of them inevitably goes to the bathroom and picks the prank towel while drying their hands.

Once they come out and ask you why you had a hand towel that falls apart on touch, look extremely suspicious of them and ask if they're sure they picked the right towel.

Every now and then yt space channels will be like "Jupiter is not orbiting the sun!!" or "the Sun is not the center of the solar system!!"

Those statements are true but worded clickbaityly.

Technically speaking nothing in Solar System orbits the Sun. What they are orbiting is called the solar system barycenter (SSB).

A barycenter is an imaginary point in space where the gravitational force of 2 or more bodies cancel each other out.

The simplest example is the Pluto-Charon system.

See this animation for example. You can see Pluto seems to be orbiting "nothing", but that nothing is called a barycenter, where gravity of Pluto and Charon cancel out. If you were to sit in this "nothing", gravity from Pluto and Charon will pull on you equally.

This is true for any systems with 2 bodies or more. Earth-Moon system is not exempt. However, we don't perceive the Earth and the Moon as "orbiting each other", because the barycenter of both bodies is well inside Earth. The greater the mass difference, the deeper the barycenter is located inside the more massive body.

And yes, this does apply to the entire Solar System. But not just the planets, the dwarf planets, the asteroids, and comets. The Sun is also orbiting around a barycenter, the solar system barycenter (SSB) I mentioned earlier.

Like the Earth-Moon system, the SSB is very very deep within the Sun. Extremely deep, because the Sun accounts for 99.86% of the entire mass of the solar system. Remember that the greater the mass difference, the barycenter is located deeper inside the more massive object.

In fact the SSB is constantly changing as all the 8 planets, dwarf planets, asteroids and comets orbit the Sun. But again the Sun takes up 99.86% the mass of the entire solar system so the change is so minuscule and so insignificant.

This concept of barycenter is often not taught in school grade science, especially the "Sun is not the center of the solar system" part. Because the SSB is so deep within the Sun that it's not a big deal in the first place.

It's easier to just comprehend and digest that the Sun is the center of solar system.

Another day, another torturous round of school.

Saiki Kusuo woke up as usual, his strawberry-colored hair already perfectly styled, without needing to do anything thanks to his psychic abilities. Not that he wanted to impress anyone – it was far from it. But since his telekinesis and all the other powers he had made it impossible to even think about doing something as mundane and simple as brushing his hair, he just lets his abilities handle it.

About school? It's the same as always for him. The pink haired psychic sits in his usual spot, trying to keep his psychic shields up to avoid hearing the inner thoughts of his classmates. Kineshi and Shun kept talking about their "awesome" plans for the weekend. Teruhashi keeps on being annoying and wanting to seek attention from him. Seriously, do they ever stop? All he ever wanted was to be average, not noticed by anyone. Was that too much to ask for?

Anyway, nothing noteworthy happened during the day. Oh, except for the usual noise from Riki, who tried to make him laugh by doing something ridiculous with his hair. Of course, he didn't laugh. He should know better by now. But he couldn't blame him. In his world, that's probably the best way to get attention.

By the time the bell rang, signaling the end of another pointless day, Kusuo was already preparing for his escape. He could barely stand to stay any longer in that horrendous school. Not that he has a choice, though. Being stuck in this world with a bunch of clueless people who have no idea about the disaster that is his existence? That's his life.

When he got home after a little walk in peace (somehow managing to get away from Nendo), he immediately headed to his room. Inside there it was quiet and peaceful. His only sanctuary. The one place where he could try to keep things from falling apart.

But then, something very annoying happened.

Kusuo was about to settle into his chair and relax for the evening when he noticed something unusual. One of the pink clips on his head – the ones that help stabilize his powers – was a little off. [Huh? The hell?] He didn't think too much of it at first, but as he concentrated and went up to reach it, he realized that it was, in fact, deflating.

Great. Just great.

He sighed deeply. Again? These things were important – more so than most people realize. If he doesn't have his pink clips fully inflated or in a good condition, he'll risk losing control of his powers. Which means his sneezes could level an entire block, he might break the floor with just applying a little bit more pressure by stepping on it, and worst of all, his entire life could slowly spiral into chaos. He quickly rushed to his dresser to grab the emergency backup box that Kusuke left behind, the one he kept hidden in case of situations like this. But when he turned back around, he was already beginning to feel a shift in the air. His heart suddenly dropped. "...Hey, Kusuo? I need your help–"

[ Dad! Could you not right now?! ] Kusuo huffed as he shouted telepathically to him, hoping he could just ask him to not be an idiot for once and not make things worse for him.

But of course, his dad didn't hear him. He never did, and that's what led to the problem.

He has teleportation as one of his abilities, and while he normally has it under control, this time, his powers got all out of whack. It wasn't just a simple teleportation – He wasn't even trying to teleport himself! He then felt his nose feel ticklish. He let out a small sneeze.

A simple, singular sneeze.

That's all it took.

And as soon as he did, his father – who had been standing just a little too close – disappeared. Kusuo froze in horror, staring at the spot where he had been.

What did I just do?  Kusuo is sure he felt him pop out of existence for just a second... And then... He was gone.

[ DAD?! ] He was panicking. But of course, he wasn't there to hear him.

That's when it hit him. In his panic, his powers hadn't just shifted his position a few feet like they usually do when he teleports. Oh, no. His powers were too unstable. He had teleported  his dad into another location. He tried to sense him by emitting signals, but he couldn't. His father wasn't found anywhere in the world no matter how he tried. Did he just teleport him into somewhere other than this world?

Kusuo's knees felt weak as he slumped to the floor, his head spinning. This was bad. Really, really bad. He was responsible for making sure everything in the universe stayed intact. And now, he probably sent his father to a completely different parallel universe. He's not even sure how to get him back.

His heart was racing. He's the one who handles all of the chaos, yet somehow, he's the one causing it. The pink haired man started thinking about how he could possibly fix this, but then the panic set in. What if there's no way to get him back? What if he's lost forever in some random world? He tried to calm himself down, but the truth was, he really couldn't. It was getting harder and harder to control his powers. He could feel his mind getting weaker, like a rubber band that was stretched too far. There was only one thing he could do now.

He needed to find a way to reinflate that damaged clip and get control back. Fast. How did this escalate to this point?

okay but I do want to know why Kusuo never bothered to learn how his limiters work. Supposedly, he helped design them, but he doesn’t know how to fix them himself, implying Kuusuke did most of the work.

Saiki is fully capable of getting full marks on his test. He’s good at solving logical problems, as long as they don’t involve predicting people’s behavior.

I guess he just never had interest in engineering.

Which begs the question… what kinds of subjects are Saiki genuinely interested in? Possibly aviation. He’s a fan of a few JUMP serials. And obviously, pretending to be ‘normal.’ But what else?

has any1 who speaks japanese and has the manga clarified b4 what she means by "chance of success: 2%"? this 2% is what was shown to be shun and chiyos "compatibility", so if these r rlly the exact words she means then is that what "compatibility" rlly is?

How to tell if you are emotionally abusive

I feel we talk about signs of abuse from the victims standpoint but not from the abusers standpoint. In order to stop emotional abuse and recognize when we engage in unhealthy behaviors I made this list.

Do you react to important people in your life by ignoring them completely and not acknowledging their presence? Especially if they do something you don’t like?

Do you feel that your partner/friends/family members are the cause of your bad moods or frustration?

Does your partner/etc “do things the wrong way”?

Do criticize your partner/etc for being unreliable or a bad person?

Do you feel you have to constantly overlook your partners flaws in order to be around them?

Are you frequently accused of being “moody” or “hard to please”?

Do your partners complain that “nothing they do is good enough?

Do your partners appear to avoid you when you are angry or upset rather then comfort you?

Do you negatively comment on their intelligence or appearence? Either in private or in front of others.

Do you blame them when someone goes wrong?

Do you ever use phrases like “I could just hit you right now” or “I”m so mad I could punch something”?

Do you ever punch walls/throw things in front of your partner/etc?

Do you leave during fights and not inform of where you are going and when you will be back?

Do you behave the same alone with your partner that you do if you were in front of your friends or in public?

Have you frequently accused your partner of being too sensitive?

How often is your partner praised and complimented by yourself?

Do you think your partner spends too much time with friends and family?

Do you feel your partners friends and family are trying to drive you apart?

Do you actively comfort your partner when they are upset or angry even if you don’t really understand why they feel the way they do?

If your partner brings up a behavior that bothers them do you respond by discussing how to change it or do you respond defensively?

Do you have difficulty apologizing?

All of these things are abuse tactics. Obviously even the healthiest of us will do these sometimes but if any one becomes a regular habit that’s when the problem starts.

Not “Only my reading of canon is correct” or “Interpretations are subjective and all valid” but a secret third thing, “More than one interpretation can be valid but there’s a reason your English teacher had you cite quotes and examples in your papers, you have to have a strong argument that your interpretation is actually supported by the text or it is just wrong and I’m fine with telling you it’s wrong, actually.”

An immortal museum curator Who has been making exhibits based on her friends when they passed. For generations they were always beautiful and complex representing their emotions and interests, thier soul even. There has always been one huge exhibit in the empty centre of the museum, one day the museum closes down for renovation. you enter the museum a couple weeks later to find the exhibit has been filled. It has hundreds of items, all hand picked, it has letters of their life on display and sitting on a podium in the center of it is a small box containing a wedding ring.

The curator comes out to give a speech herself for the first time since the museum’s opening. As she speaks you notice a ring on her finger matching the one in the box
