Lautski Week: Day 4 (Loop)
This board is a Lautski AU based/ inspired by the movie, Happy Death Day. (Admittedly, while I never watched the movie myself, I have read and watch videos about it.) I thought it would be a different take for the theme.

Despite it being her eighteenth birthday, Steph isn’t too thrilled. Her dad is to focus on the upcoming election to notice it. (Not that he would do much if he had notice.) It doesn’t help that she felled asleep in home room and got embarrassed. In addition to that, she got busted for cheating on a pop quiz with the nerd she tried to cheat on with by Grace ‘Nerdy Prude’ Chasity. The only upside is the party happening for her birthday by the popular cliche. Or it would be except a hooded figure stalk her on the way to the party. Steph tries to run for it but the figure ends up killing her, only for her to wake up in home room. Steph first shakes it off as a bad dream but everything that happened in the dream happens again. She tries not to get caught cheating only to be caught again. She does spend a bit more time with the nerd who she got in trouble with, Peter Spankoffski. While going to the party, she takes a different way and does make it there, only to be kill in one of the bedrooms by the figure again. Steph again wakes up in home room to realize she was living the same day over again. Not sure what to do, she turns to Pete for answers when they get trouble for cheating again. While they have barely talked before, Pete is probably the smartest person Steph knows. Pete doesn’t want to help at first as 1. he tries to stay away from the popular crowd and 2. what Steph is saying out is bizarre. However, after seeing how freak out she is, he does give her suggestions of what to do and how to prepare herself. They would also get closer with every loop Steph goes through. After a certain point, she changes the pattern of events to see Pete more. Her goal swaps from just surviving the day to making sure they both live to see tomorrow.

I forgot to post this back when they were delivered, but ohmygod look at these!!! I can’t wait to try to find a spot on the walls to put that massive map lmao
Lautski Week: Day 2 (Party)
Pete, Ruth, and Richie throw Steph a Birthday Party. It’s a small event but Steph loves it. It’s more sincere than anything Solomon has thrown for her and more intimate than what she does with the popular cliche. Steph and Pete *might* have some alone time later in the party. (Follow by 101 questions about it from Ruth.)

Spoilers for later in the week:
This won’t be the only that Steph’s birthday is worked into the theme.
Lautski Day 5: change 👗
@lautski-week
I come bearing grim news. The old king, at last, has died.
“Strange… When I picture her in my mind I see naught but fire and starlight…”
Our man Tadius really had one (1) conversation with someone who wasn't obsessed with the royal family and immediately went "oh my Gods, we should kill the King" completely unprompted.
AND THEN HE ACTUALLY DID IT! Legends only! No one is doing it like him!
Omg ok, just saw the show and it was amazing!!! The songs were magnificent and the acting was top notch. I loved how electric the audience was, they were so responsive and it made every reaction I had feel justified. I have so many thoughts but mostly I’m just glad to be able to unblock all of the spoiler tags.
Solomon Lauter is so underrated. I know we all hate him because he’s horrible to Steph, and he does suck for that, but he’s also such a compelling character, especially for the limited screentime he’s had. I want to know more about his backstory, I want to know the specifics of his deal with the Lords in Black, I want to know WHY he’s so desperate to keep his position as mayor because it seems like it goes deeper than just wanting to stay in power and he doesn’t seem to have any aspirations beyond it—at least so far, he hasn’t expressed interest in, say, running for governor or the senate, which I feel like he would if it was just about power and ambition. I think he needs to keep watch over Hatchetfield specifically (stand sentinel at the gates of hell, as he phrases it in NPMD) and he can’t ever leave his post. Something is keeping him tied there.
The way he immediately, blatantly directs everyone to start pointing fingers at each other in Hatchet Town and it works. The way he doesn’t seem to care about individual people very much, but is still invested in saving the world from Max, to the point where he’s willing to dig up the black book and trust Stephanie with it. The way he’s still unwilling to touch the book himself. The way he KNOWS Max cannot be reasoned with, but is still desperate enough in his final moments that he tries to plead with him and offers to buy him beer of all things. And the way Corey delivers his monologue right after he makes Pete Steph and Grace dig up the book?? The way the Nightmare Time leitmotif comes in on “to survive this night, you’ll have to strike a bargain with the Lords in Black”?? Fucking immaculate. So good, so chilling, I think it might be one of my favorite serious/non-comedic moments in the entire Hatchetfield trilogy.
In conclusion: he’s such a fascinating character and I really hope we get to see more of him at some point in the future.
