Idk abt y’all but one of my favorite things about Homers literature is thinking less about morality, since the culture and context the text was written in was wildly different from our own
This concludes my thesis on why Odysseus and Achilles are my favorite
When my grandmother died, I inherited a bunch of old lead crap. When I realized I didn’t need it, I decided to give it all to the kids on my street. Pay it forward
I look around on this lovely day and see no one. Do they not know the pleasures of the outside world? Are they, like I was not ten minutes ago cooped up in the comfort of their homes? Buffoons. Come outside and face the sunlight.
The saddest thing in the world is actively watching a close friend and yourself slowly grow apart while knowing there is absolutely nothing you can do about it
Still can’t believe there’s a 3 year time period in which you can’t legally drink and drive
Love how companies only deterrent to getting free beverages is not having a cup. Bold of you to assume I won’t cup my hands and drink it like a dog.
I am currently looking at a pc, a laptop, an iPad, and a phone. I have achieved peak unproductivity.
im always thinking about two things:
I picked the wrong character to steal a personality from and now I’m going on my villain arc. Try to stop me.
I will acquise, with having Only read the Iliad and not read the stories where Achilles "falls madly in love" with Deidemia, it's very easy to interpret this man as being gay* and plainly not actually interested in women as anything beyond a status symbol. Sure he "acquires" women from Lesbos for himself and Patroclus, and is upset when Briseis is taken from him but it's easy to read that as expectation/obligation and his pride being hurt, respectively, moreso than him being genuinely interested in women.
Patroclus, well, i don't think we spend enough time with him to know but I feel like it could go either way, with him being either gay or bisexual
*i am aware that our modern terminology and understanding of sexuality is not the same as sexuality from any other time but for simplicity sakes i'm using gay and bisexual
