Kinda late participation post but huzzah
1. Fave lines:
"I think you deserve an ice-cream sundae — the biggest one we can get — on the way home. Your favorite kind, with butterscotch, peanut butter, and Gummi Bears. Okay?”
- i forgot that call is a kid with weird and crazy af preferences cuz wdym ice cream with gummi bears? That's so 💀💀💀 He does deserve it tho, kinda sad this wasnt mentioned again,, makes call rlly silly
If you could fly, whispered a small, treacherous part of his brain, it wouldn’t matter so much that you can’t run.
- this broke my heart,,
- when i first read this, i got so excited cuz i thought call would be able to fly at some point in the books. That it'll be his main thing, his specialized powers or smth. Imagine my disappointment when he only gets to fly during lessons, and nothing beyond that.
2. Best character aside from the main trio:
Master Milagros. They really captured the essence of a newly graduated, new hire teacher. The awkward introduction, the confidence in their work, and vibe, everything is so cool with her. And probably the nicest and sane and actually-cares-about-students out of all the masters in magisterium so,,,
3. Id rate it a 4.5/10
The prologue and chapter 1 really did a great job on setting the themes of "magic is scary" vibes. The tension built up for the entrance exam was well done.
But what comes after that is a shit show. The entrance exam ended up feeling like a human trafficking scheme. The exams itself feels rigged. The masters, the adults who are responsible for these children, feels like they don't care about them at all. These masters should NOT be teachers omfg (yes. Even Rufus.)
And not even the introduction to the school itself made things better.
So,, yeah,, its hhhhhhhh fun? happy tentitversary

<------ if you're confused about this post, i suggest to check this one out)
Ok I’ve decided I’ll stop screaming in my posts.
I trust everyone has done the reading 👀👀👀
Anyway! To spark the discussion, here’s three questions to start with! reblog or reply with the answer
What is the most iconic line in the first five chapters of TIT?
The best character in the first five chapters beside the trio (the one you find the funniest, the most intriguing one)
Rate the first five chapters on a scale from 1-10, either based on how the rest of the book compares or simply in general
Also, apologies, but I will be tagging everyone who interacted with the og post, if you don't wanna participate, just ignore this!

Ur so right, callis would def not tell agatha but would be really vague about it. But i imagine a scene where agatha looks so determined to go after sophie, that callis would see that agatha may or may not be an ever. Maybe she will modify/add some things to the witch-in-training pack that will help agatha also survive school for good (Or maybe not, considering most ever stuff are mostly beauty products and i dont think callis would have that on hand)
Do you think callis will slip a map? Or better yet a potion book? Imagine agatha realizing that the weird stuff that callis cooks are real potions.
Wouldn't it also be really cool if agatha stops by another village, to see how different the fantasy world to gavaldon. From the buildings to the magical stuff going around. To meet these people and their lifestyles. It'll give agatha a wake up call that there is a whole different world out there, the fairytale world.
So when she reaches sge, she will be fully aware that fairytales exist and its time to find out how these fairytales came to be. Meets the descendants of legendary characters. Imagine how devastating the gallery of good scene would be, finding out about the mogrifs, Then the horrifying wishfish/gargoyle scene. She would definitely try to get away from that place as soon as possible.
But sophie, hahahaha hoo boi sophie
It would be so interesting to see how this affects the plot, and what will happen to the rest of the school year.
@pumpkinpaperweight had a dream and now im suffering with brainrot. The "only sophie got taken so agatha went after her" post, and im not ok, im not ok. I have this plot in my head now, ideas and dialouges, but will i actually do it? idk so here's a couple sketches i did, what i imagined what happens at the aftermath of the kidnapping
aaaarrghh i want this to be a full blown au so bad you have no idea i am not okkk aaaaaaaahh
Bored so here is Alex succeeding in his murder plans

Call was starting to regret this plan, now sat what felt like alone in the library – though he knew Aaron, Tamara and even Jasper weren't very far away. Yes, he could catch the spy. But he could also die very easily.
The library door opened slightly then closed again. Calls eyes immediately darted to it, but he couldn't see anything there. He felt uneasy. Like something was there that he couldn't see. He almost wanted to give up now and leave the library without finding anything out, but he didn't want to look like a complete coward. He felt misplaced air near him, and quickly tried to grab it. Nothing. He was probably just paranoid.
A book fell off one of the shelves, making Call jump. Just a book. Gravity does that. Nothing to be scared of.
Jasper was so much going to laugh at him for this once it's over.
He tried to calm his breaths and stood up to put the book back on the shelf. He didn't want to get in trouble if it was damaged or anything.
What felt like a very strong blast of wind came towards him, making him stumble and fall over. That hurt. A lot.
He got back up, trying to figure out where that came from. He was inside. There shouldn't be wind.
Sighing, he put the book back on the shelf and tried to go back to his seat. An even stronger gust of wind launches him into the wall. He screamed.
Air magic.
He wasn't prepared for the situation of an air mage.
He saw what looked like a floating hand for a few seconds before it disappeared again and Call was launched straight at the ceiling. The blow to his head made him back out for a second but somehow didn't kill him.
He screamed again, tears falling down his face as he realised what was happening.
"Help! Please!"
Call felt something tug at his soul, and a blast of chaos went out in a random direction, probably aiming to hit whoever was doing this.
It obviously missed, as Call was slammed straight into the wall.
He couldn't feel his body anymore. He wanted to scream but couldn't. His friends ran out from behind the bookshelf, all trying to do something. Call couldn't tell what, his vision was fading.
He felt himself fall and then everything went black. The last thing he heard was a shout – his name. Aaron was shouting his name. Then he couldn't hear anything at all
<< POV switch >>
Aaron ran out quickly, realising what was happening.
"Call!" He screamed as he saw the other boy fall. Call hit the ground and went limp. "Call! No!" Tears filled his eyes. He looked around, trying to figure out what was going on or what to do.
"Aaron!" Tamara shouted, but Aaron didn't have a chance to respond before he was levitated in the air and slammed into the wall next to Call.
He couldn't feel half his body. His head was foggy but he was alive. He closed his eyes and tried to make his breaths less obvious, the spy wouldn't kill him if they thought he was already dead.
He heard another scream and resisted the urge to open his eyes. It was both of them – both Tamara and Jasper – that screamed.
But at the second scream from Jasper Aaron's eyes shot open. There was a pair of quickly moving in and out of Jasper's back, stabbing him repeatedly. Tamara was going blue and not breathing. Aaron tried to run towards them, to save them, but couldn't. He couldn't move his legs or even feel them – was it the hit against the wall?
It took minutes for both Tamara and Jasper to die. They collapsed and went limp. Aaron couldn't do anything but watch, and then prepare himself for the same thing to happen to him the moment the sky realised he wasn't dead.
It didn't. The door opened slightly and closed again, leaving Aaron alone with the corpses of his three best friends and no clue who did it, unable to move half his body to get out or go for help.
Why? Why was he left alive? Why were Tamara and Jasper killed too? Why was Call killed? Why not him? Why was he still alive?
He reached over and held Calls hand tight. It was going cold. Aaron broke down crying.
This wasn't real. It couldn't be. Call couldn't die. Not Call or Tamara or Jasper. If any of them it should've been Aaron.
But all he could do was wait for someone to find him now.

Author note if Alex leaving Aaron alive doesn't make sense he says in his evil speech that his plan was keeping Aaron alive after killing Call and then alkahesting him afterwards.
Okay byee
Kill The Child
Making my siblings watch the sge movie, and 10 minutes in my older sister already hates it LMAOO
Bunch of sketches cuz ive been drawing angst a lot and these kids should be having fun instead
No Magic?/Collegium? AU idk its mostly for the casual vibes of it all
Call would def be the listener to the yapping of Aaron and Tamara.
Also long haired Call, the authors basically wrote him as an edgy skater boy, might as well give him the guitar n long hair
---
ATLA! AU
Tamara is a fire nation noble, Aaron came from the water tribes, and Call is an air nomad who survived the genocide (cold massacre oof) and now lives in the countryside of earth kingdom.
Who's the Avatar? Both Call and Aaron. Call was supposed to be the next air nomad avatar after fire nation avatar verity torres. But he died which made the cycle continue to Aaron, but Call didn't really die so now both of them became the avatar.
They would probably have 2 elements each, Call with Air and Fire, while Aaron would have Earth and Water. Wow, even in atla!au theyr each others counterweight, soulmates fr.
"You want me to be the bad guy? Fine, I'll be the bad guy"
---
This scene cemented that Call will never be Constantine. His reaction to Aaron's death isn't what you would expect from The Enemy of Death.
This sketch is a what if scenario where Call reacts just like Constantine. Where he loses control because of grief, and anguish.
Instead of helping him, they condemn him for something out of his control, for something he didn't do. Well, If that's what they want to believe, then Call will be The Enemy.
GGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ahem
Gotta be honest, the popularity of blond Percy thanks to the pjo show is driving me insane because every time I see pjo fanart, I have a crisis over what little blond boy is being depicted
