i know we joke about cis artists having the weirdest sense of anatomy, but also even when the anatomy is fine, no one seems to want to draw women doing normal things
“Living weapon” covers a lot and all of it is hot

i wasn't intending to make an animatic, but my ideas for the initial sketch started turning into smth larger. considered doing a short comic, but i felt like it would've end up being subpar quality
a lot of people have been speaking out about soman’s horrible recent livestream, a lot of experiences shared, so I would like to propose one idea, to all of us, but especially to people who have stayed on his side. roll it over in your brain a bit.
intent doesn’t matter.
what soman meant to say, what he meant to get across in these books literally doesn’t matter. if you shoot someone, it doesn’t matter that it was an accident. they still got shot. you don’t sit by their side telling them to stop crying because you didn’t mean to shoot them. you take them to the damn hospital.
soman talks a big game about how we’ve “misinterpreted” the books. about how they’re “satire.” he tells himself that taking things too literally is OUR fault. he tells himself that his young fans are “smart” so that means he can project his entire adult life onto these books with no repercussions. he has the audacity to tell himself that he’s the victim, and we’re just trying to drag him down with baseless negativity. well, guess what? news flash, kids don’t understand satire. nor do they understand the concept of an unreliable narrator, for that matter. the average 8-11 year old will accept almost everything they read as truth. even IF they register that sophie is bad, or a “regina george type,” they still leave the book with the knowledge that people in this world worry about their weight, or stop eating so they can be skinny, or view fat people as liars/second class citizens. jesus christ, no child should have to think about that! no child should have to think about their body at all! every young person who reads these books leaves with a seed planted in their mind. every. single. one. do you know how many people I’ve talked to who felt like their insecurities mysteriously appeared when they started reading sge? people who had no outlet for the things these books made them feel, because members of this fandom are so afraid to talk about serious subjects? so, no, intent doesn’t matter. only your impact matters. and I cannot believe that soman is so full of himself he can’t even acknowledge the fact his actions have consequences.
if you actually care about someone, you care about the impact your actions have on them. in this live, soman said loud and clear that he does not care about this fandom. he does not care about any of us unless we stroke his ego. he does not care about our feelings, our opinions, our personal lives, our mental illnesses. he cares about how good we make him look and how much money we can earn him. he cares that we paint him in a positive light so he can keep getting movie deals and free promo. he sees us as a bunch of 12 year olds in honors english class whose attempts at free thought are futile and stupid. well, let me tell you something. we are smarter than he wants us to think. we are more compassionate, empathetic, and open to self growth than he’ll ever be. this, right here, this speaking out is the positive change he’s told us to band together and create. he will not silence us. we are right.
soman does not know what it’s like to be a teenage girl struggling with body image. his opinion carries absolutely no weight. we know what it’s like. we trusted him to understand us, and he let us down. we carry him on our shoulders. it’s time to let him go.
i get that miles being sheltered to punk culture/ideas is an easy assumption, considering his parents' attitude towards gwen, but like. i really really want to pose to you all miles morales the graffiti artist, who's incredibly aware that his dad wouldn't defend him if he was arrested, but still believes in and makes public art. miles morales the black scholarship kid at a predominantly white school that treats him in equal turns like a snowflake, a loose cannon and a charity case, who in one of the novels gets suspended for calling out & starting a protest against his racist history teacher. miles morales who in that same novel gave his own cash to a pickpocket he had to stop after giving him a chance to surrender. miles morales who keeps getting told to shut up & back down but doesn't, even if it's "for his own good". miles morales who after being told he'd never fit into a system that should've helped him said "then fuck your system" and electrocuted the leader.
miles morales might not be punk aesthetically, but he gets it. he gets it more than a lot of so-called "punks" do.
"Alastair wasn't a hugger. And the one hug Call would ever get - he will never feel."
WHAT THE HELL- might as well use the gauntlet on me aND RIP MY HEART OUT
Kill The Child
Finally got around to drawing my designs for these Magisterium Characters!! My headcannons for them, in order:
Alastair Hunt, in my mind, is an all-American guy with not-so-active parents. He's got his cannon messiness and love for tinkering so I can't help but image him staying up night and day to take apart Radios, Watches and rebuild them with metal magic.
Jericho and Constantine Madden are def French-Russian, obviously have their mum and (despite being irrelevant anywhere) dad. Jericho has a talent for Water Magic in my mind, and him and Declan like making pages like this with Declans Photographs. Constantine is months short of discovering Chaos, so for now he loves Fire.
Sarah and Declan Novak ARE JUST HEADCANNONS. There is NOTHING to base them on except for their names and Sarah having the same dark hair as Callum. So now they're American with Grandparents in South America. They're also the smallest in the group and Declan gets Migraines that can even take his vision for a short while. Just so there's a solid reason he wasn't in active battle, since it would've been a bigger than average risk for him.
i feel like being in a fandom long-term has a very specific repetitive cycle that kind of looks like this
also the way the fandom skipped over how kei literally drugged dot??? dot is such a tragic character in so many different ways
dot always gets the short end of the stick i swear
yeah that was so messed up i get he was probably ordered to but wtf. i like kei but that was so screwed up of him, why did he get close to dot and USE her like that oh my god. and the way dot was blamed and attacked by the coven and hort when she was DRUGGED by this boy who she thought genuinely liked her.
no but that’s so messed up, like yes we love kei but let’s not forget to hold him accountable for that pls
For me personally, i just lost energy to participate, but i didnt expect everyone to disappear as well 😭😭😭
Some things comes to mind why it became inactive:
- book 6 and the movie. I genuinely thought that sge ended in book 3, surprise surprise theres more books. The release of book 6 felt like an end to an era. The conclusion to everything in sge. Fans can now rest easy now that the story is officially finished.
Then the movie came out, more content for us to rave over! A sense of nostalgia and excitement for the adaptation. Our favourite characters came to life!! Wow!!
The official ending of the series and a live action adaptation of it basically fulfilled what the fans could ever want. Its done, what else could we want?
- rise and fall of sge (i spoke too soon). Ill admit that i havent read it nor plan to read it, but for me personally it felt like milking the series till its dry. And with soman's track record with tcy, surely u can guess why others(me) wont read rfsge. I'm content with how sge ended and perfectly fine not knowing what happened in the prequel (this also applies to other sge related stuff that soman plans to release, like bro, enough, start a new one or smth let sge go/JJJ)
- the saddest but most realistic reason,, the fans grew up. Most of us read sge when we were younger, probably middle school or high school. Years has passed, we're mostly in college or graduated. We're either too busy to participate in the fandom, or simply moved on.
School for Good and Evil has been with me growing up and is very dear to me. But now that I'm older, there are more stories for me to enjoy. It's a chapter in my life that I'm ready to close but will look back fondly on.
I still had fun while it lasted, and i do miss it sometimes. I hope everyone also had fun or continue to enjoy the series! Yippee!!!
This month was the month....I joined a dead fandom...😞😞
Where is the school for good and evil (BOOK) fandom??
