"fireball this, banishment that—" do you think wizards have to call their moms for help making potions bc theirs never work quite like hers. do you think they sit there struggling to write down coherent recipes while their moms dictate based entirely on vibes and made up units of measurement like "a pinch" and "some." do you think they bicker w their moms over the proper order to add ingredients, and how no they're not going too slow, and what the hell do you MEAN it'll be done in '20-ish' minutes. do you think that when they fall in battle and need to be healed they wake up to the taste of home lingering in their mouths.
I’m starting to get the feeling that Kevin Feige is hearing all the criticisms going towards the MCU and, although he’s not acknowledging it in interviews, he’s silently addressing them as the franchise moves forward. What I mean by that is:
1) “MCU villains are lame and one-dimensional” -> Phase 3 and 4 villains are now widely praised, especially Killmonger, Thanos, Wenwu, and Zemo
2) “MCU is not cinema” -> hires Academy Award-winning director Chloe Zhao to take on Eternals. Also, he allows her to make this slow-burn, epic high fantasy that goes against typical superhero fare. Clearly, Marvel is aiming for the side of film circles that heap praise on “Dune” and Christopher Nolan movies.
3) “Avengers: Age of Ultron was not good in hindsight” -> WandaVision and What If…? are made to improve on AOU’s plot points
4) “I don’t understand the time travel mechanics in Endgame” -> Loki and What If…? are made to provide a better understanding of time in the MCU (don’t even start with me, the time travel stuff is understandable based on what I’ve seen)
5) “MCU hates Asian people, look what they did with Ancient One and Mandarin” -> corrects the Mandarin plot point by fixing Ben Kingsley’s version and introducing a proper version of the character, makes a whole movie dedicated to Asians/Asian-American, creates Eternals with multiple Asian leads
6) “Hawkeye is not funny and chaotic like how he is in the comics” -> literally makes a whole series that’s based primarily on the Matt Fraction run, the one that everyone praises
7) “MCU is not diverse” -> just all of Phase 4 (and most of Phase 3)
There are other criticisms, but those are the ones that came to mind.
When you actually have to do the job you applied for after lying about how capable and great you are on your résumé
We will find out in Alecto the Ninth whether Kiriona's chest has teeth or ribs.
She cites Final Fantasy and Animorphs as intros to SFF. On Animorphs: "Nobody's safe in that book. Everyone's dead by the end. It was an influence."
The 1.5 page outline of the Locked Tomb was written in the back of a notebook which Tamsyn was using to teach herself Latin. She has (except for the detail of Gideon being a fireman) followed this guide throughout.
She is still writing Alecto the Ninth. She feels tremendous pressure, primarily from herself, to produce a satisfactory ending.
On Tasha Suri saying she still doesn't know what Homestuck is after watching a 2 hour video about it: "Neither do I."
She says she is working through creating the balance between a Catholic worldview and the critique of imperialism. She hopes that the balance will be struck correctly. "I'm kinda worried about being excommunicated. For one scene in particular."
Hope to post a full transcript tonight or tomorrow.

You think for one moment 1A wouldn’t get suuuper drunk from time to time? (Whenever Iida is visiting his family…)
Todoroki is immune to alcohol. He can take ten shots and not even slur his words. He’s a master and we fear him. Whare does the vodka go??? No one knows. At least he chills beers for them.
Momo is also unaffected, but that’s cos she takes two sips and then changes all the alcohol in her system into something productive for society, like buckets for her classmates to throw up in.
Midoriya thinks he’ll be a lightweight but is fairly decent at holding his drinks, plus he’s got such a high tolerance for pain that hangovers barely affect him.
Bakugou, however, IS a lightweight and it’s beautiful. He refused to drink at first and when Kami finally dared him he was done after two drinks. He lost ability to function logically and cannot remember anything. Bakusquad claimed he made fireworks with his quirk and food colouring but it’s unconfirmed. Apparently Kirishima had to carry him to bed.
Kaminari and Mina started the drinking, and they usually drink the most (bar the absolute monster that is Todoroki) so they get the most drunk (except Bakugou who has the tolerance of a fucking bumble bee). Whilst drunk they often mess with their more serious classmates or start stupid games
Tokoyami never gets drunk because bottles aren’t bird friendly and he can’t see glass. This means he has plenty of blackmail material
One time in their second year Iida came back early and somehow it was decided that Bakugou should stop him from entering, since he was the only one who didn’t reek of alcohol. (due to his inability to consume the substance in large quantities). What followed was the most gut wrenching conversation Iida has ever participated in, drunk Baku becoming his therapist for three hours whilst everyone else either passed out or cleaned up
Aizawa knows exactly what’s going on and is being bribed by Mic to keep it secret, since he feels some comraderie with the teenagers.
