I'm rather proud of the doodles in this one. Plus, I have a logo now!

I seem to be settling into a "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" sort of feel for the WHOFAX illustrations, which I quite like.

I started playing with recording over my own voice in multitrack, and after about an hour and a half this accidentally happened.

If you're one of the poor unfortunate souls who haven't experienced the glorious original version, here's the video and here's the Wikipedia article.  I put together these lyrics based on multiple English translations floating around out there; I think I've kept the basic gist of each line intact.

I have no regrets; if nothing else, at least I actually hit every sour note without pitch-bending or autotuning of any kind.

Download this track here if you're unwell enough to want to do such a thing.

There's a music video now as well.

I took some video of part of my rail commute and set it to the English-language cover of Yatta! I made recently; the result turned out surprisingly mellow.  More info and an MP3 download in the track's original post.

Captioned lyrics are included if you click through to YouTube.  Here's the direct YouTube link for embedophobes.

This goofy track has gotten a far kinder response here and elsewhere than I thought it would; thanks, Internet!  I shall have to do more musical things.

For Today’s Daily Doodle I Played A Self-administered Drawing Game A Teacher Taught Me Ages Ago Which

For today’s daily doodle I played a self-administered drawing game a teacher taught me ages ago which is perfect for getting over doodler’s block, so I decided to share the game here as well.

The original game used a paper encyclopedia or dictionary (which were things people had back then) flipped to a random page, I updated it for the Wikipedia era.

Once you master doing this in ten minutes, try for five!

Going Through My Pin Collection, I Unearthed A "The Hunger Games" Mockingjay Which I'd Purchased In Darker

Going through my pin collection, I unearthed a "The Hunger Games" mockingjay which I'd purchased in darker times.

I like it a lot more now that I've given it a Woody Woodpecker paint job.

Edward Barnett

Edward Barnett

In 1971, Purdue University undergraduate student Edward Barnett co-founded the Purdue University Black Society of Engineers to encourage his fellow black students to pursue engineering in a dedicated and supportive environment. The organization succeeded and grew, and continues its work today as the National Society of Black Engineers.

Trying out something a little different.  Here's my reading of the short humor essay "The Gusher" by Charles Battell Loomis, from the 1907 anthology The Wit and Humor of America, Volume IX edited by Marshall Pinckney Wilder.

I Don’t Know Who This Is Or Why He’s Saying A Lightbulb, I Only Know That I Scribbled Him In About

I don’t know who this is or why he’s saying a lightbulb, I only know that I scribbled him in about half a minute on a sparsely-populated city bus due to not wanting to have my netbook and drawing tablet out on a sparsely-populated city bus for longer than half a minute.
