Didn't want to hijack this post, but the family aspect of the Flash stories is one of the things that really means a lot to me.

Yesterday I talked about how Batman drew me in when I was younger, but how as an adult, the Flash is way more my speed (lol). There are a ton of comparisons to be made between the two fams, and I love how they can really be meaningful counterpoints to each other.

For me personally, these both really hit home. I'm adopted from a different country, which means I don't look like my family. Im not related by blood. I came from a relatively poor background. But I was so fortunate to be taken in by them and accepted for who I was. And never, ever judged or made to feel different!! It almost feels like a miracle.

And the thing about batfam vs flashfam is that acceptance part.

The way I see it, Bruce definitely has acceptance and love for all the kids he's worked with over the years, but theyve had to earn it, and he has a hard time showing it. His standards are at times painfully high and there will always be a part of his heart that is emotionally blocked.

For the various flash characters, there's not really any kind of family head. Approval isn't strictly required bc the acceptance of each other is already implicit. Even when they dont get along or have differing views, theres still so much love for each other. Theres a lot more i could say about this, but i think the previous post rly captured it.

So anyway, i def didnt mean this to get so long. Im just really feeling the found family in this DC fandom Applebees tonight.

Part 2 of random Flashfam headcanons !

- When someone points out the weird color of Bart's eyes, they just invents a stupid story each time to explain it ("this is what happens when you become blind and then regain your sight" "I am half dragon" "a wizard cast a spell on me" "it's a sign of higher intelligence"...)

- Bart's hair make them look taller than Thadd, and he don't like it.

- Wally has a dinosaurs phase when he was a kid.

- Literally every speedster passed Jay and Joan off as their grandparents to other people. (Barry: Yes Jay is my grandfather. Yes he is also my nephew's and grandchild's. No none of this is weird.)

- All speedsters are somewhat capable of cooking.

- It remains to be seen if their cooking is really edible for non-speedsters...

- The best way to woo a speedster is to offer him food.

- A speedster only offers food to people tey likes.

- Bart learned to knit to keep their hands busy and started giving away what they knit for Christmas and birthdays.

- They still have problems with sizes. But everyone loves the effort. (Max wears his every Christmas)

- Because of their metabolism, all speedsters give off a lot of heat and resist the cold very easily (being able to wear t-shirts even below 5°C) So, for many, speedster = radiator.

- Thadd tricks Bart into doing his chores for him.

- Despite being super smart 'cause he was basically raised on a giant computer, Thadd tends to believe a little bit of everything he reads on the internet.

- Bart likes to make fun of conspiracy theories (even if he himself is convinced that the center of the earth is made of nougat.)

Anyway, Sunstreaker's easly one of my fav tf ever and I also realy like Mirage ! And for some reasons my brain decided that they'd be cute together. And ya know what ? I'm just gonna roll with it !

Lore time ! :D So, their name's Starlight, and they were a part of some kind of kid trafficking, as one of the kids.

They and 4 other mechs were specifically part of an experiment studying the growth and development of a cybertroniens deprived of one of their senses.

Starlight was modified to never be able to see (they have no optics). And as for the second character, Edge, she has no sense of touch (she still can feel pressure and temperature).

On top of all of that, they were all trained to be some kind of super thieves and spy. That way they could be "adopt"(understand sold) easier. Fortunately, in some way, the war starts before Starlight or any of their remaining siblings found a "family".

This specific page shows one their training mission that end up badly. All of them were taught to never care about anything accept the mission. This one was barely a success, saving Edge would only have put the mission at risk. Starlight had always been a great learner...
