Red Medic Update and Edits

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading my post.

First, I apologize for not updating my blog. I have gotten incredibly busy with work and school.

Next, I have made some more plans and edits to my MCU fanfiction, the Red Medic series.

The release date: I plan to complete and release all the stories this July, for Christmas in July.

Honestly, I’m still so confused why D3 suddenly made it so that the villains as well suddenly deserved to be free from the Isle??? Like, it feels like we were on the right track off needing to take the kids off the Isle, but then suddenly by the end….its the adults as well???

The only reason I can see this happening is cause of what Hades said but honestly, if they wanted to have a villain say that….they chose the wrong character. Hades earned his imprisonment when he tried to kill Hercules as a baby, tried to kill him more times if you count the TV show, and basically freed the titans, potentially causing more deaths. And that’s ignoring that in this film, he also attacked Mal with the ember. Like, he was not the right character to do that bullshit line. 

But like, even then, why not see which adults are innocent and want to reform versus just…freeing all the villains, including ones who wanted revenge in the first film??? Like, this whole sudden free the villains thing makes zero sense in all areas and really wasn’t needed in the film, especially as it just leads to all the jokes about Auradon probably about to be a hellscape with the villains freed now. 

Breakup Pasta: Sammy's Version Part One

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading my post! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my blog.

This evening, I made dinner for my family, and tried a new recipe: Breakup Taco Pasta(TLC)!

First, what is Breakup Taco Pasta(TLC)? First and foremost, it is "a tasty meal" that had "the opposite effect of 'Marry Me Chicken'", according to TLC. It is not Big Ed's original creation, but it is a popular weeknight dinner, as it is easy to make, tasty, filling, and relatively inexpensive. Many chefs, food bloggers, and home cooks have created and written recipes for their versions of it, as has Big Ed.

Next, why did TLC call it "Breakup Taco Pasta"(TLC)? According to Food Network, "In episode six[of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?] (“The Itsy Bitsy Liar”), Ed reveals that at a dinner with his family, Liz and her daughter Ryleigh, Liz “blew up” because Ed had made Ryleigh’s taco pasta “too spicy.” Days after the fight, Ed tells his sister that he has decided to cancel the wedding, but has not yet told Liz, days before their would-be ceremony. Liz learns of this news from a text message from their officiant, saying “how sorry he was that the wedding was called off.”(Wong).

Third, why was it so spicy? To start off, the formula for Taco Pasta: Big Ed's Version is 1.5 pounds of ground beef, seasoned with taco seasoning, 1 onion, 1 bell pepper of any color, 3 Roma tomatoes, 1 clove of minced garlic, a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, 1 packet of spicy ranch seasoning, 2 cartons of beef broth, an unspecified amount of cheese, and an unspecified amount of any pasta(though there are rumors that Big Ed used Top Ramen noodles). Lastly, how do you make it? According to TLC, you first heat up a large skillet, then add the beef, vegetables, and seasonings, and cook until browned. Once you have browned the beef and vegetables, add the beef broth, pasta, and cheese, and let everything simmer, stirring regularly, until the pasta is fully cooked. Once everything is fully cooked, serve.(TLC)

Recently, I stumbled across posts of every theater kid's favorite meme from the 2010s, "Inappropriate Audition Songs". It's suggesting that at an audition, the aspiring performer sings a song that is so not fitting to the character or show in general.

Here is my example:

"I am auditioning for the role of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde the Musical, and for this audition I will be singing "Alberta Bound' by Paul Brandt."

It's a good song, but not fitting to Elle Woods or to Legally Blonde.

The problem with Encanto headcanons

As a Colombian I LOVED Encanto, but I know people have headcannoned Isabela as lesbian and Mirabel as bisexual among other characters. The issue with that is..

There is no issue.

In 2020 this was such a prominent issue to people and even 4 years later I have no idea why so many people took issue with this. It was fine for people to headcanon Elsa as lesbian, it was fine for people to headcanon Merida as lesbian, but all of sudden it's "forcing representation" and "taking away from the main story" if Isabela gets headcannoned as lesbian?? NOBODY is saying this for Max Goof and Bradley Uppercrust III when the movie was trending. NOBODY was saying it was forced representation when people shipped Bill Cipher and Ford Pines (even though the fact its gay isn't the issue but the fact it was a very manipulative relationship was but many people ignored that). And it's not bad to headcanon any of these things for any of these characters. I just don't understand why it was such an issue when Isabela (who's whole arc is honestly very WLW coded) gets called a lesbian. And its the fact its coincidentally a Hispanic character (I'm not implying ANYTHING.)

Overall, as a Colombian while i dont speak for every Colombian it never was and still isn't offensive to headcanon any Encanto character as queer since many people figured it was. Both the story and the headcanon can coexist. Acting this way won't get you approval from homophobes and transphobes! They still hate us stinkabutt 🤞

TL;DR : there was nothing wrong with headcanoning an Encanto character as queer in 2020 and there still isn't anything wrong with it in 2024.
