no because the bone i have to pick with marvel over the development of female characters. why do we only explore their characters when they’re dead, or going to die. seeing maria in such a personal way with her glasses on and minimal makeup just for her to die? getting black widow when natashas already dead? exploring wanda’s character when they make the switch to villian/anti-hero? not when she’s trying and she’s hurting? but steve has three movies, and bucky has an entire backstory, and we just keep adding onto tony’s long list. these women are constantly a second thought, or a last resort to boost engagement, and i’m sick of it.
Good morning, afternoon, or evening.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day or night to ready my post.
As a warning, this is a long post.
A couple months, I made a blog post about how similar Encanto and Yellowstone are. Here is the post:
First, thank you @embermc for the initial comparison.
Moving along, in each post about Encanto characters and their Yellowstone counterparts, I will compare three characters per post.
John Dutton and Abuela Alma Madrigal
They are both heads of their families and small towns.
Beth Dutton and Pepa Madrigal
This one I found to be the most obvious. Not only do they look alike, but they both tend to be moody and feisty.
Rip Wheeler and Felix Matrigal
They are both chill guys who are happily married to feisty gals.
That's all for now. Stay tuned for part 3!
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Have a good day or night.
History will call them friends
Descendants OCs
Good evening!
My boyfriend and I came up with two OCs for the Descendants franchise:
Isaac of Arendelle, son of Elsa of Arendelle
Angelo Madrigal of The Encanto, son of Isabela Madrigal
the best, most permanent way to exude quiet confidence, or any vibe, is to possess it, own it at your very core. i'm not going to lie to you, it takes work to build and maintain, however that's just all the more reason to start right away! the good news is that because there is no final stage where all your efforts suddenly bear fruit, you can already witness your life, relationships, and confidence improve with every incremental step. hope these ideas help you in your journeys, lovelies 💛
personally, i'm referring to the confidence that comes from being so secure and at home with yourself. it's not about being unshakable, but about being able to regain your balance with increasing grace over time. a person with quiet confidence doesn't feel the need to be the center of attention for everyone all the time, because they know their worth independent of anyone else.
so, how does one become this person?
everything else flows from this, so it's important to build a strong foundation. journaling and meditation can help, but a person is much more than just their thoughts and words. it is in their actions that their personalities really shine through. it's not just about what you do, it's about how you do it.
when you enjoy something, do you try to play it “cool and unaffected,” or are you able to move past ego and share that enjoyment with others?
when you don't enjoy something but it's truly necessary, do you whine and mope, or are you able to tap into your grit and optimism?
when you are in a social gathering, are you making eye-contact, viewing each person without judgement, encouraging those who aren't talking much when a topic of their interest arises?
when there is a lull in the conversation, are you able to simply sit with it, maybe even bask in the energy of your company?
to become a person who exudes quiet confidence, you need to practice putting thoughts and words into conscious actions 😌 as the saying goes, “you are what you do.”
confident people don't project their insecurities onto others. it doesn't mean that they don't have insecurities or qualities they'd like to improve, but they have the self-awareness to work on themselves and work with others' strengths and weaknesses independently of their own.
👀 some signs of projecting to recognize:
emotional opinions about others
inability to give specific examples to support those opinions
quickly finding fault in others
victim mentality
🛑 how to stop:
if you've gone as far as to wrong someone because of your projecting, sincerely apologize — no excuses — and do what you can to make things right
start checking for the above signs of projection early and often
practice empathy — put yourself in the other person's shoes and try see things from their perspective. of course, no one expects you to be a mind-reader. this is more of an exercise in imagination to demonstrate to yourself that the first narrative that pops into your head (usually the most familiar one, a.k.a. your own) is not necessarily the truth
finally, make time daily for the little things that help or remind you to take pride in yourself ☺️ you don't need to take a lot of time out of your day. the more impactful approach is small, consistent routines that can be maintained long-term. more on being consistent here!
for example:
affirmations some examples here!
personal hygiene and grooming
exercising more on that here!
developing a skill
building a portfolio
more ideas here!
it's also important to respect your own limits, whether it's time, energy, even money. don't let others shame you for not working unpaid overtime or not going out every weekend or not spending as much money. more on maintaining healthy boundaries here!

"During an archaeological dig in a desert area north of Jerusalem 40 years ago, a seed was discovered which was determined to be in pristine condition but had obviously seen many a year.
Now, despite falling from its parent 1,000 years ago, it has grown into a mature tree, and botanists examining it believe it may be an extinct species that was used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years—even receiving a nod in the Bible.
Neither Israeli botanists, nor Dr. Sarah Sallon, a physician who founded the Louis L. Borick Natural Medicine Research Center at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem, could determine what species it was from simply from the seed covering. So they did what nature intended—they planted it.
Using a well-documented technique that saw 2,000-year-old date palm fruit pits germinate, Dr. Sallon soaked the seed in hormones, liquid fertilizer, and water, and then planted it in a pot of sterile seed; then waited.
Despite its genetic code being exposed to environmental stressors for over 1,000 years, the seed sprouted after 5 weeks. The shoot was protected by a caplike feature called an operculum. As the shoot grew, the operculum was shed—leaving something for the team to radiocarbon date. It narrowed down the age of the almost 10-centuries-old seed to between the years 993 an 1202.
Fast forward 14 years and the plant has become a 10-foot-tall tree. Dr. Sallon shared images of the tree, its bark, and its leaves with botanists around the world. One expert suggested it belonged to the genus Commiphora, found across the Arabian Peninsula and parts of Africa. A genetic analysis subsequently revealed this was the case, but a perfect match was lacking.
Pictured: The tree, now 14 years old.
Dr. Sallon and her team thought it was an extinct species known from history as Judean Balsam, but the best way to confirm that suspicion would be to have some aromatic traces similar to the resins of the myrrh tree to which it is related. However, no such fragrant compounds were detected.
Instead, the chemical analysis of the leaves identified a group of phytochemicals known as guggulterols which have been observed in a related species called Commiphora wightii that’s known to possess certain cancer-fighting properties in its resin.
A medicinal balm, the origin of which is not known, is mentioned in multiple historical texts including the Bible as ‘tsori,’ and rather than the fragrant Judean Balsam, it’s this tsori that Dr. Sallon and her team believe they have found.
They must wait until the tree, now 14 years old, produces flower or fruit to know for sure if it’s an extinct species, and if so, how to perhaps keep it alive.
Dr. Louise Colville, senior research leader in seed and stress biology at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London who wasn’t involved in the research, told CNN that it was a major accomplishment to grow a seed that old and possibly lead to a resurrection of this Biblical botanical.
“What’s surprising in this story is it was just a single seed and to be able to have one chance for that to germinate is extremely lucky,” she said.
“Working in a seed bank, seeing the potential for that extreme longevity gives us hope that banking and storing seeds that some at least will survive for very long periods of time.”"

Note: This is such a good demonstration of why seed banks are so important!! They give us such real and massive hope for deextinction and the revival of endangered species.
THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, the new album from Taylor Swift. Listen Now On Spotify
Well, since Disney’s too cowardly to give us a sapphic Elsa, I’ll have to do my part as an Elsa cosplayer to portray her as gaily as possible.
I know! That was so cringe-worthy.
This couple on 90 Day Fiancé season 7, who doesn't speak the other's language, is absolutely driving me insane. How can you know you live someone if you can't have deep, meaningful conversations with each other?? Also: If you love someone, wouldn't you TRY TO LEARN THEIR GODDAMN LANGUAGE??????????
(I skipped the end of season 6 because I hated all of the couples and looked up to see if they stayed together or not. All but 2 couples are divorced lmfao)
Aye!
I REPEAT, THIS IS AN AVA ORLOVA/RED WIDOW APPRECIATION POST. I THINK IT WOULD BE REALLY COOL TO SEE HER IN THE MOVIES AND/OR A TV SHOW REBLOG IF YOU AGREE.
