HOLY SHIT! This is absolutely amazing! How someone can be so talented? Everything of this masterpiece is perfect !

A few months ago, I said on this blog that in my head PJO is an anime with a badass opening credits. I meant it quite literally, like I can actually picture this OP in my head, with all the shonen tropes like Percy walking around pretty backgrounds, cool fighting scenes with lots of camera movements and huge statues of the Gods standing ominously in the background, Nico standing in the rain till Reyna and Hazel and Jason come for him and a ray of sunshine breaks throught the clouds and light hits his hopeful face, GIMME ALL THE TROPES hahaha. Doing the whole opening would be impossible for a single person but I really wanted to try one big “shonen” group shot, so here you are !!! This actually took me AGES, I’m not kidding, the folder for this on my computer is named “batshit crazy ” for a reason, it may not look like it if you don’t know animation but a really huge amount of work went into this. I think it’s actually the biggest thing I ever did for a fandom. I can’t say how many hours I spent on it since I didn’t count, but let’s say I started this in September and spent a lot of week ends and most of my Christmas holidays on it, and I just finished it this week. I had a lot of fun though !!! And I learned a lot too, this was my first time trying to animate japanimation style, with not many in-betweens and ultra dynamic poses. So yeah, I hope you guys will like it !

I want to thank fimyuan and bisexualjason for keeping me motivated with their lovely comments through the project, even when I was complaining about my own decisions to animate friggin’ skeletons, hahaha. Another big thank you to my friend Wekake who went through the animation frame by frame and spotted all the little compositing mistakes that remained ;p

A few words on the process : I animated and colored everything in TV Paint, drew the background in Photoshop, and composited everything in After Effects. The song is an extract of the Yowapeda opening “Reclimb” by Rookiez is Punk’d because I wanted something very distinctively shonen but no lyrics, and I like that song ^^ I animated directly without any model sheet references which is definitely not how you should do it, hahaha, hence the design inconsistencies, but honestly even my madness had its limit and I didn’t want to spend more than a year on this thing ;p

((OOC: So I took a Sequential Illustration class this semester and we had to do 4 pages of a comic. So I chose to do a comic of the Hogwarts Founders surprise surprise. I used the Sorting Hat song from Order of the Phoenix as the narration. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!! If you have any questions feel free to ask! :) ))

- - - - - The philosophy of Kintsugi ( the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold) treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. I thought this is perfect for Remus and his scars. I know, probably I’m not the first one who had this idea for Remus, but I still find it really poetic and appropriate for him.

I want to see the different constellations of group chats and text chains on the different shows.

On Ds9 you of course have the O’Brien family chat with Keiko, Miles and Kira. Then there’s the Julian and Jadzia gossip text chain. Odo refuses to participate but occasionally receives funny cat pictures from Kira to which he always responds :), which he considers high praise.

Jadzia is almost everywhere, having installed the Ferengi app BarZ and being very active in the chaotic Klingon cyberspace where groupchats appear and disappear daily depending on today’s loyalties and vendettas.

Percy Jackson Online Festival

Hey guys, I had this idea a few years ago about a fandom event. I want to organize a festival with competitions and reading sessions for the month of August (Percy’s birth month yay!) and September (before the release of the Tower of Nero).

Here’s my proposal: 1.Group Reads based on reading speed and the number of books wanted to be read (individual discretion to choose categories)

2.Edits competition for video and picture collage edits. (You guys are so talented in these!!)

3. FANART contest (separate categories for digital and traditional art)

4. Headcanon and Alternate Scene writing Writing (didn’t like that scene in the books, well change it then)

Prizes would be cool certificates and perhaps lifelong friends. 

This is an endeavor of a huge scale and pros are that we all can have fun and do something in our spare time. Stressed? Get a freaking certificate for revisiting your tween-teenage years.  I’m thinking about making this a dual-platform festival (Instagram being the other-cuz many fans may not have a tumblr.)

Also did I mention shout-outs? No? Well the Winners will get shout-outs on both platforms.

Now all that’s left is blowing this post up. Tell your fellow fans and lets keep this fandom alive. Ya’ll don’t even need to follow me if ya’ll don’t want to.
