Faith in goodness

I really like Smurfs, so I decided to write fanfics about them. And one of them is dedicated to one of my favorite characters of this fandom - the smurfling girl Sassette. I was inspired to write fan fiction by the season 6 episode "Smurf on the Run", whose events will be touched upon in the plot. I hope you enjoy this little fanfic about her.

"I… I thought that you had changed, Pappy Gargamel… I thought that you had become good… after our adventure behind the Topaz of Truth…— the little smurf girl cried, and then ran away so that the evil sorcerer Gargamel could not catch her.

Little Sassette really wanted Gargamel to become sweet and kind, she was so sure that he could be reformed so that he would stop hunting smurfs. And it turns out that she hoped in vain? Did you believe in it for nothing? But Gargamel created her, and it still doesn't count as his good deed, doesn't show kindness in his heart?

It had been a few days after her smurf birth, but she still couldn't forget the events of that day that happened on the eve of her holiday, which made her very sad.…

And so one day the girl decided to retire from the rest of the smurfs, including her friends, the smurflings, and sat down on the bank of a small lake. She sighed and looked at her reflection.

— How stupid and naive I was… — she said to herself. — And why didn't I listen to others? Will Pappy Gargamel never change and always hunt us down to eat us or turn us into gold? — looking at the water surface, Sassette seemed to see in the reflection that little smurf girl who naively believed in the kindness of the sorcerer, although she herself was already disappointed in this, having made sure that she was always wrong. The little girl took a pebble and threw it into the water, not wanting to see even her trusting self. The water rippled, causing the reflection to disappear. Then the girl began to cry bitterly.

— Sassette, what are you doing here alone? — Sassette started and turned around.

— Papa Smurf? — a little further away from her stood Papa Smurf, the leader of all the Smurfs in a red robe. He walked over to the baby and sat down next to her.

— What's wrong, my little smurf? Has someone offended you? — Papa Smurf asked with slight concern. Sassette looked away.

— No one offended me, Papa… I'm just… I'm just really ashamed.…

"Why not, Sassetta?"

— That I believed in stupidity! She threw the stone into the water again.

— And what kind of nonsense are you ashamed of, little one? As for me, everysmurf can believe in anything, even in some nonsense… But there is nothing shameful about it.…

"I…I just can't believe Gargamel doesn't want to be as kind as we are, Papa."…

"It's just… I wanted him to stop following us so much… and… it seemed to me that if you wanted, you could change… for the better… I… was so sure that you could awaken the good in him… I thought it was in him.…

—Ah, Sassette,— the wise smurf smiled slightly at the girl. "There's nothing wrong with seeing goodness in Gargamel. Yes, he is evil and does not want to change, and he can deceive and plot against us, but still seeing and believing in someone good is good, just the main thing is to be able to recognize his lies and deceit in time. Believe me, little one, sometimes we can really help someone, put them on the right path, seeing in this person that piece of kindness hidden in the very depths of his soul. It's just… unfortunately, we can't always reach someone.… And… usually it does not depend on us, but on the people themselves who choose their life path, who may also ignore advice or our help… But to believe in human change is normal, and even… right… It shows your determination to make someone better, your determination, your own kindness. And… even if someone can't be changed, it's okay.… We can all make mistakes… and we learn from mistakes, Sassette.… And learning from mistakes, we gain experience, and with experience comes wisdom.…

— And what does it turn out to be, Papa?.. I… wasn't a stupid and naive smurfling?..

— No, honey. Rather, just a little inexperienced… But at the same time, you were brave in your own way, you continued to believe and see the good in Gargamel, although he himself is unlikely to ever notice it.… But… I still won't rule out that maybe… It's possible! He'll be able to change one day… and then maybe he'll realize how much he was wrong when he was chasing us.…

— Really, Papa? — Sassette looked at him incredulously.

—Of course. So don't worry if you can't make Gargamel a good person.… Maybe someone else can do it? Plus, we still have to wait for a certain time when he will be able to realize everything …" the elder Smurf chuckled. — And as for you, don't stop believing in miracles and kindness, because the world needs more people like you and… smurfs like you… With people like you, Sassette, the world can become a better and kinder place.… And it's a great feeling to see goodness in someone.…

Of course, she will be careful when meeting old Gargamel and will no longer fall for his deception, at least she will definitely try to do this, but still she will at least hope a little that one day, after some time, the sorcerer will understand and change, and become their friend.

This fanfiction was written before the release of the third Sonic movie, so this story can be considered his alternate universe...

— Soon the colony will come out of orbit and destroy this pathetic planet Earth, along with its damned people… Soon humanity will perish, and then… Then you will be avenged, Maria..." the black hedgehog with red stripes mused aloud, looking at the Earth through the porthole.

A moment later, the metal door opened, letting in a yellow two-tailed fox cub and a red echidna.

"If the coordinates are correct, then we will soon find the Chaos emeralds and the Master Emerald, and possibly Sonic along with them," Tails explained to Knuckles. Suddenly, they slowed down when they noticed a red-eyed hedgehog.

—Shadow! — The fox cub called out to him. The hedgehog turned in response.

"Who do I see? The fox and the echidna. The so—called blue hedgehog family," he quipped.

— Do you know where Sonic is?" We need to find him urgently! Otherwise, we won't be able to stop the fall of the ARK colony!

"I have no idea where that hedgehog is." And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you! Especially for such pitiful and insignificant creatures like you…

—Pathetic?" Insignificant?! — Knuckles screamed, covered with red lightning from anger. — Now I'll show you what such pitiful and insignificant people can do!

—Knuckles, no! We don't have time for fights," Tails stood in front of Echidna, stopped his friend, and then turned back to the black and red hedgehog. "Shadow, please help us. We can't save the world from destruction without Sonic."

—A brother?" Tails and Knuckles were surprised.

They took the life of my dear friend! They killed Maria! And she hadn't done anything wrong to them!" — he shouted, and his scarlet eyes turned bright red, and red lightning appeared on his skin.

"I know there were bad people who did this to you... but not all people are bad."… There are some good ones. Besides, most of the people living on the planet are innocent of anything. These people don't know what happened to you and Maria.…

"Shadow, listen to me.… If Sonic is your brother, then help him.… Help save humanity… After all, he's your family.…

— Because Sonic is our friend and brother. He's our family too. And for the sake of a family, you can do anything..." explained Tails. "You'd do anything for Maria, wouldn't you?"

And then Shadow, grinning, couldn't stand it and attacked the fox cub, grabbing him by the neck and pinning him against the wall.

"Don't you dare tell me what Maria wanted and what she didn't want."… You didn't know her..." the hedgehog hissed ominously, sparkling with red lightning, and then shouted. — I knew her better than anyone, like no one else! And I know exactly what she would like!

"Shadow, that's probably not true."… I'm sure you're wrong..." the two—tailed croaked, unable to get out of the striped hedgehog's tight grip.

Suddenly, the grip loosened. Tails slid to the floor and saw Knuckles blocking him, while Shadow was lying a little further away on the floor.

"Don't you dare touch the fox cub!" Otherwise, you'll have to deal with me! Echidna shouted, banging his fists against each other.

"You want a fight, then? You're going to get it now..." the hedgehog hissed, getting up, and then rushed at the echidna, who hurried to meet him.

— Chaos Control! Shadow shouted and teleported, hitting Knuckles from behind so that he rolled over and fell.

Then the hedgehog looked at Tails with its bright red eyes. He slowly moved towards the yellow fox. The man was afraid to move under his gaze.

Shadow raised his right hand, which he was about to use to launch his power at the fox cub. Tails closed his eyes and turned to him:

— Shadow, I'm sorry about what happened to you and Maria, honestly.… But innocent people shouldn't suffer because of your hatred! I know there is a better way than this. After all, you can save them! It's not too late to fix everything! You could give them all a chance to be happy!

Shadow suddenly froze as he heard the fox cub's last words. Looking at him, it was as if he saw not a trembling little fox, but a sweet golden-haired blue-eyed girl whom he loved with all his heart.

— M... Maria?.. — he whispered. —No...This is can't be real… This… It can't be... no..." he staggered away from Tails. He was surprised by the reaction of the dark hedgehog, as he expected a blow from him.

"Tails, are you okay?" — the fox heard Knuckles's cry, who ran to him. "Did he hurt you?"

- No. I'm fine, Knuckles. Everything's fine..." Tails glanced at Shadow again, staring at nowhere and holding his hands behind his head. Knuckles got ready for a new round, but the fox cub took echidna by the hand.

—Wait, Knuckles. No need.

- Why? He attacked us.

"We don't have time for a fight right now. We have to hurry. We've spent enough time," he explained to his friend, and then they walked on together.

Meanwhile, Shadow was remembering the very moment when he said goodbye to Maria.…

— Maria, let me out of here! You don't know what you're doing! I have to protect you! — Shadow shouted, trying to get out of his confinement. At that time, the girl was tapping on the keyboard of a device that would lower the capsule down. After a moment, she smiled and turned to a friend:

—Shadow, can you please promise me something?.. I know the soldiers are coming here soon, and they've done a lot of bad things, but... don't hold hatred against all people, Shadow. There are other, very good people in the world. I would like you to protect such people and save them. After all, they need to be given a chance to live a happy life. Would you do this for me, Shadow?.. Will you promise me? ..

—Maria...— was all the hedgehog said, looking at his friend from the capsule.

Suddenly, one of the soldiers burst into the room.

— Don't move! — he shouted.

Maria, frowning, prepared to press the lever with which she would allow the Perfect Life Form to escape.

"Don't you dare pull the lever! Can you hear me?" — The soldier shouted, aiming his weapon at the girl. "If you pull the lever, I'll have to kill you!"

Shadow, kicking and shoving, tried to get out of his confinement. But the glass of the capsule was too strong to break. And the hedgehog had no choice but to watch what was happening.

— Maria, no! Don't do this! Shadow shouted. Maria smiled at her best friend for the last time and pressed the lever with tears in her eyes:

— Sayonara, Shadow the hedgehog…

Then a shot rang out.

— MARIA-A-A-A!!! — a hedgehog's cry was heard as the capsule ejected.

— Maria… I promise… I promise that I will save the planet that you cherished so much.… I'll fix everything," Shadow whispered to himself, wiping tears from his eyes. And then he hurried after the friends of the blue hedgehog.

A huge lizard equipped with life-sustaining technology, the Biolizard, kept Sonic and his friends away from the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald.

— Sonic, what are we going to do? Tails asked his leader.

"We're going to have to fight him, Tails. There is no other way out. I'll take care of him, and you and Knuckles…

"You'd better leave it to me,— Shadow's voice suddenly came to everyone. "I'll fight him, and the three of you go to the emeralds."

Tails and Knuckles were a little unsure about the black hedgehog, but Sonic nodded to him and agreed.

— Alright. Follow me, guys!

Shadow wasted no time attacking the techno lizard using the chaos spear. The monster roared and attacked the hedgehog in response, who managed to dodge.

"I will keep my word, Maria. I will save the world for you. Even if I have to give my life," he mused as he continued his battle with the Biolizard.

Тейлз - Маленький Принц/ Tails - The Little Prince/ Tails - Le Petit Prince

"Маленький принц" Антуана Де Сент-Экзюпери может показаться обычной детской сказкой на первый взгляд. Но если погрузиться в неё полностью, то можно понять, что эта сказка не так проста как кажется. В ней раскрываются очень важные темы, которые до сих пор являются актуальными для людей:

взросление и потеря "внутреннего ребёнка", который, познавая окружающий мир, делает свои открытия, умеет удивлять своими фантазией и мечтами настолько, насколько это возможно;

преданность и любовь, ценность дорогого и близкого тебе человека/существа;

ответственность за свои действия (и не зря до сих пор цитируют: "Мы в ответе за тех, кого приручили").

Прочитав эту замечательную и трогательную сказку, я не смогла удержаться, чтобы не нарисовать что-нибудь по ней. Именно поэтому я нарисовала данный арт по "Маленькому принцу", где в роли Принца предстал лисёнок Тейлз, а Розой - Космо. И я надеюсь, что вам понравится мой необычный кроссовер, который я изобразила...

responsibility for their actions (and it's not for nothing that they still quote: "We are responsible for those who have been tamed").

After reading this wonderful and touching tale, I couldn't resist drawing something based on it. That's why I drew this art based on "The Little Prince", where the fox cub Tails appeared as the Prince, and Cosmo as the Rose. And I hope that you will like my unusual crossover, which I have depicted...

Тяжело сказать "Прощай"/It's hard to say Goodbye

RUS: До чего же грустно прощаться, особенно, если ты знаешь, что больше не встретишь своего друга. Пусть Соник и Найн не стали настолько крепкими друзьями, как Соник с Тейлзом, но всё же я считаю, что эта дружба имеет место быть, которая со временем, возможно, могла стать сильнее и прочнее, чем на данный момент у этих двоих. Я верю, что если бы Соник не зацикливался на сравнении Найна с Тейлзом, а Найн был бы добрее и отзывчивее, то тогда у них всё было бы хорошо во взаимоотношениях.

И тем не менее, я посвящаю свой арт (нарисованный ещё год назад) выходу последнего третьего сезона мультсериала от Нетфликс "Соник Прайм", потому что финал меня очень тронул, и я просто не могла не нарисовать эту прекрасную сцену прощания.

ENG: It's so sad to say goodbye, especially if you know that you won't meet your friend again. Sonic and Nine may not have become as strong friends as Sonic and Tails, but I still believe that this friendship has a place to be, which over time, perhaps, could become stronger and stronger than these two currently have. I believe that if Sonic hadn't been fixated on comparing Nine to Tails, and Nine had been kinder and more responsive, then everything would have been fine between them.

Nevertheless, I dedicate my art (drawn a year ago) to the release of the last third season of the Netflix animated series Sonic Prime, because the finale touched me very much, and I just couldn't help but draw this beautiful farewell scene.
