okay but what if we poisoned each other with champagne and had the antidote in our mouths if we kissed
Hello my friend, I am a hadiah from Gaza.
Can you help my children and donate even a little
I was working as a lawyer to bring justice, and now you are the ones who will bring justice to me...
I have children. In the name of humanity and not participating in genocide.
I ask you to re-share my story and help my children if possible. Ten dollars is enough to save my children.
Please do what you can.
I want my children to live in safety and peace. Please don't neglect to do what you can to participate or donate

The war in Gaza has hit us hard,❤️🩹 forcing us to leave our homes due to the destruction and move🌪️ abroad. Life here is full of challenges, with financial burdens such as university and school fees😔, making it difficult to provide for daily life necessities❤️🩹🇵🇸 My goal now is to raise £9,500 to ease these burdens.😔 We have less than £500🚨 left to reach this goal, and reaching this amount will help ease the financial pressures we are facing🍉🇵🇸 Every support no matter how small can make a big difference.🍉 https://gofund.me/ba5b76e9

hello ice!
i was planning on doing an interpretation/design of a preexisting character that has only been shown in-game as a sprite.
^ this is their sprite (clover from undertale yellow)
i was in the middle of drafting some concepts when i remembered from your lessons of how little racially ambiguous characters get interpreted as Black. i then quickly sketched up a Black interpretation of their sprite, with everything the exact same except for the hair turning into locs, the lips being two-toned, and the nose being wider.
this game has several endings, two main ones though. one where this character chooses violence and vengeance as "justice" and the other wjere they choose self-sacrifice ajd peace as "justice".
as a nonblack POC, it feels weird to initially interpret a paleskinned pixel art character as white, and then change it to or have another design/option/idea of them as Black. Also, it feels strange that the main reason behind me doing so was a sudden remembering of what i could add to contribute to the greater community, but i fear im using the character's ambiguous race and my presuming of them being Black is tokenization.
another small element is that all artwork by the creators done of this character has been protrayed as nonblack.
i dont really know what i should do -- move forward with them being interpteted as Black for only one design? for both? for none?
(also, i apologize if my phrasing is offensive or awkward or innappropriatw -- i dont know if its right to refer to a design as "the white one" or "the Black one")
thank you for your time!
Just do it lol. It's fine. It's a Black edit and Black edits are fine. That's what we all do when we make them- go "yeah, they were white. BUT WHAT IF-" and then decide to add a new depth of perspective to them, their designs, and their decisions, now that they're Black.
The fact that you even put that much thought into it is more than someone who was tokenizing Black character design would do- just make sure you're being honest with yourself and your motivations, and that it doesn't become a source of you feeling good about yourself rather than just something you feel passionate about, or wanted to try. If you genuinely realize you're doing it for clout, stop. But if you actually care, proceed.
And as for their character route, that's fine too. Black characters should have complex stories!
you know when your adhd compels you to immediately stop all work and begin reharmonizing a choir warmup for spooky season (october) and purposefully go download a free videoediting software (ShotCut, hot artists dont gatekeep) to then continuously voice record myself for the next one hour exactly cutting and editing the voice recordings to line up (speeding up by 1.001000x with pitch consideration) and then having a result that was absolutely not worth the time because your two-voice harmony one sounded much better than the three-voice one you spent twice the amount of time as the two-voice harmony one figuring out and you messaged your music major friend about it but theyre asleep rn so your thoughts are still hyperfixated on music even though i've music'd all the music there is to music right now because i have no instruments near my vicinity enough for my adhd to consider it more convenient than it is important to stay hyperfixated on this unimportant task?
yeah me neither
HELLO???
WHY DID I NEVER KNOW THIS
on spotify desktop app the star wars songs have lightsabers that change when you click on it and it changes the type and color!! editing to add all the lightsabers:
tagging moots @redbean-nom @sesamenom-misc @beachedsandcastles
the only thing that could POSSIBLE be better is the dark saber sword
i could NEVER be a witch because of how indecisive i am. you're telling me youre paying me so i can only curse your enemies with ONE spell when i have SO MANY OPTIONS?? i want to give them saliva with the texture of oil AND no teeth!!
i wanna be dark and mysterious but i also cannot stop yapping about myself
how do you think Silco reacts to Powder and Ekko dating in the au? honest if I was Ekko I’d be TERRIFIED everyday of my life knowing who my gf’s parents are. I also think we need more fanfiction about this
I think Ekko is one of the few people who are safe from the "scary dads" thanks to being Benzo's kid. Also, Ekko knows how soft they really are.
Asian-Americans being discriminated against in college admissions, specifically towards Harvard.
The rat race of college admissions tends to be an uphill battle for Asian-Americans, as the Model Minority Myth (which stems from the creation of H1-B and EB-3 visas prioritizing skilled workers, causing Americans' perceptions of Asian-Americans as ALL highly skilled, which is untrue) contributes to the sky-high expectations of achievement by Asian-American high schoolers.
"To illustrate just how strong the Asian-American pool is, in the baseline dataset Asian-American applicants have academic indexes that are over 0.2 standard deviations higher than whites, almost one standard deviation higher than Hispanics, and over 1.5 standard deviations higher than African Americans. Indeed, Asian-American rejects have academic indexes that are higher than African American admits."
While yes, academically Asian-Americans excel, it turns out that in other areas of college admission they slump.
"Using data over ten years, they found that Harvard’s admissions officers assigned substantially lower personal ratings to Asian-American applicants versus white applicants, especially when compared to the ratings assigned by teachers, counselors, and alumni interviewers."
"Asian-American applicants suffer a statistically significant penalty relative to white applicants in two of the ratings Harvard’s admissions officers assign to each file (the personal and overall rating)."
So not only are the personal and overall ratings one of the contributing factors, but it is likely due to racial biases within school counselor and admissions officers systems.
White people having the most legacy as usual.
Within each of the other three groups (3, 3+, all 2’s), African-American applicants have the highest admit rates followed by Hispanics, then whites, and finally Asian Americans.
In fact, the scoring for African-American applicants on Harvard’s overall rating exhibits the opposite phenomenon exhibited by Asian-American applicants, as African-American applicants are disproportionately concentrated at the high and low ends of the rating scale.
African-American applicants are either overperforming or underperforming, never averaging out, showing how also due to societal norms and racist ideologies, have to fit the mold of being extraordinary or what society tells them they are. Or entirely be seen as a diversity student to lower (or raise) the GPA to seem more welcoming or exclusive.
Asian-American applicants are less likely to be admitted if they are in the middle of the road. They have to be exceptional or above average, otherwise they get completely ignored.
Despite being more academically qualified than the other three major racial/ethnic groups (whites, African Americans, and Hispanics), Asian-American applicants have the lowest admissions rates. In fact, data produced by Harvard show that this has been true for every admissions cycle for the classes of 2000 to 2019. A closer examination of the six years for which Harvard produced applicant-level admissions data shows that even removing those who receive some other form of preferences (such as legacy, athletic, or early action) still results in Asian Americans having the lowest admit rates over this period.
