The coolest.
In my experience, nothing makes an otherwise sane person crazier than not be able to identify what is true and what is not. And I don't mean "crazy" as a passive irritation, I mean literal, extreme emotional and cognitive dysfunction that can manifest genuine madness.
When someone thinks they know the truth and is then denied this by the non-negotiable wall of reality, their response in a healthy society is to reevaluate their position, but in an emotionally incompetent society in which loyalties are rewarded in spite of the truth--and perhaps the truth is even punished--people rationalize in every manner, along every avenue, that they must be missing some key information which would validate their preconceived understanding. And you will find that the dissonance breeds madness, because we punish the truth.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. That trap is the death knell of a rational society, and the harbinger of civil collapse.
Cowboy Bebop (I think)
That post about death note being "everyone's first anime" (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?

I know it’s not hard to point out reactionaries hypocrisy when it comes to like safe spaces or hug boxes or whatever but genuinely how much of an echo chamber do you have to exist in for you to think this is a reasonable thing to say
There is a lot I could say right now. I want to be angry and yell at the high heavens. But I doubt that will do much good.
This race is all but decided it seems. And it doesn't look good. I could go into detail about the dangers we now face, but you've all heard it.
I am angry, scared, and tired. And I doubt tomorrow will be much better. It is more important now than ever that we make our voices heard. That we stand tall against the bigotry, hatred, and injustice we may face.
In the immortal words of one Ambassador G'Kar-
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power governments, and tyrants, and armies can not stand.
Remember that, remember to stand up against those who would see such liberties taken away, and remember that only you have the choice to stand for what is right.
We are all so fucked
I don't know what to do. We need nothing short of a miracle, but I doubt we will be so lucky
We are all so fucked
Crazy to think we're finally down to the last week here before the election and I just want to say this. To all of you who may be considering NOT voting in this election or voting third party...be aware that whatever happens in the future can be traced back to your decisions now. If Trump's Project 2025 were to come to pass and the Supreme Court upholds everything, you need to ask yourself... Where was I on November 5th? Why didn't I vote? Or why did I vote third party instead? Why didn't I try to stop Project 2025? As much as the crisis in Palestine matters, it's just as important to think about the people here in the USA who will be impacted by Trump and the GOP's plans. Is it fair to completely ignore American lives? Perhaps you might even be someone who thinks Project 2025 is "fearmongering" and couldn't come to pass...but that doesn't mean there's a 0% chance of it happening. Even if only 25% of it were to be implemented, that 25% is still too much and would radically shift the USA forever. There's a very real chance that we can see a collapse of freedoms here in the USA, and we've already seen this with the Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v Wade. The judges who ruled to do this were put on the court by Trump. I understand there's a lot of things that democrats and liberals might be unhappy about right now...I get we don't have the absolute perfect candidates. But is it worth ignoring the reality of our democracy and personal freedoms being stripped away? This is our future on the line. We only get one shot at this. To reiterate, I understand the frustration with our two-party system, the horrible genocide in Gaza, and conflicting messages concerning Harris' values. It's good to have a strong demand for justice and reform because everyone deserves better. With that said, it's impossible to get where we want if we don't vote for the candidate that has the most similar goals to us. Even more important to vote down ballot to ensure we get a huge majority in the House and Senate. Once we have the Presidency, House, and Senate, change can truly begin. However, for so long, it's been slim majorities that have little power to implement change. That or the House might be red while the Senate is barely blue or vice versa. This has killed so many incredible bills that would have helped the American people. It's not so simple as just voting in the President--we need the House and Senate. Not as a slim majority, but a HUGE majority. So if you're sitting there frustrated and wondering why a Democratic government hasn't done x or y, that's the reason. We've yet to see a BIG majority in the House and Senate. So to go back to my previous point, this election is going to potentially decide the freedoms we possess and whether we get to keep them or not. Harris has openly stated her values and policies that are favorable in safeguarding personal freedom. For example, she has voiced her concern for safe abortion access as well as securing our right to vote. She has openly stated we need a ceasefire in Gaza. Trump has voiced the opposite and called for restricting our voting rights, and he is favorable to the Gaza genocide. Is that okay? When you look back at this years from now, you don't want to have any regrets. When you vote, you make your mark on history. How do you want to be remembered?
Its amazing how everything about everyone in this panel is terrible.
Though Lara-Le got it the worst
This is what being married to Locke does to someone
Uhh yeah Knuckles I’d say there’s a massive fucking problem with Vector and The Swan Princess over there
Halo Fans very much embody that one "No one hates Sonic more than Sonic fans" meme.
I know because I am both.
i think halo is about space marines and some kind of war maybe. not sure. when i’m over 20 years late to the halo franchise and can simply exist in my own bubble it ends up like this.
I think the main issue that I am trying to get at is how the original Halo series had one of the strongest development teams working at the time, whereas 343 never even had the chance for its team to fully grow, evolve, and iterate upon itself.
Halo 4 is probably the piece of media that I have the biggest love/hate relationship with.
It feels so close to being something great but doesn't quite hit the mark.
Not to mention how its a game that was the start of a storyline/trilogy that didn't really go anywhere, leaving the feeling that it was the start of something special that never got a proper follow up
Thinking back on this post and learning more and more about the production of Halo 4 and 5 I can't help but feel frustration at the direction the series went. 343 as a development studio never seemed to fully come together behind the scenes. The studio that made Halo 4, 5, and Infinite really feels like 3 separate entities.
Its hard to pin a specific blame. Microsoft's history of poor choices in managing studios, poor leadership at 343, no consistant vision, or hell maybe just a few plain old bad ideas.
Idk, I am not a developer nor was I there when these things happened. But what I can say is that the state of Halo makes me sad.
For the past decade its really felt like its been 343 trying their hardest to succeed against all odds. So it hurts seeing them come so close to greatness only to fall short or in some cases drop the ball super hard.

The designs for the gloves and boots are rock solid
A possible Silver design for Sonic Boom
Halo 4 has such an overlooked/underappreciated score its almost baffiling.
The Sonic 3 trailer has left me with the general feeling of
To this day I am still mixed on the Halo 4/5 Elite designs. I do not like how the faces are, with the placement of the mandibles and really, how tiny their faces are compared to the rest of their head (if that makes sense.)
I also don't really care for how they made them come off a bit too thuggish at times, be that in their movement or characterization.
That being said- I like their long sharp fingers, the texture work for them is great with the grey almost scaley skin, and there are some solid armor designs
I can't believe Shadow the Hedgehog got infected with the Uroboros virus
Without getting into spoiler territory-
Alien Romulus is fantastic. A wonderful homage to each film in the series, while somehow also managing to change things up and remain fresh. (Well, a lot of that freshness comes from how it takes certain ideas from the past and improves upon them)
My only real critque is the reuse of a few lines from previous films (seriously, just write your own dialogue) one of which got an eye roll out of me.
All in all, I really loved this film
(Fede Alvarez should direct a Doom movie)
I mean, its not like Chief is completely and totally unquestionably loyal to the UNSC. In Halo 3 he puts his trust in Cortana over Lord Hood's orders + the whole Del Rio plotline in 4. (I would use Halo 5 as an example but I don't like that game's story)
"Master Chief and Doomguy would be best friends." Master Chief was an abducted child supersolider created to crush human rebellions who is unerringly loyal to the fascist military that created him. Doomguy canonically beat his commanding officer to death for ordering him to shoot civilians. No they would not.

Awesome to see these guys together again
Clancy Brown with two extras on the set of Highlander (1985)
well I said I would do it
The best characters in all Sonic media- if not fiction. (I love Plunder and his crew so much. They're one of my favorite things from STC)
Its been a while since I posted any Sonic related content here…So I might as well post this old Simpson the Cat drawing xd I really don’t know how is it possible that Simpson is such an underrated character from STC- I mean, he’s literally Felix the cat! What more could you ask?!
