Mascot Madness - SUNY

SUNY Mascot Madness is the battle to decide New York's favorite college mascot.

My school’s mascot is Oakie the Acorn, and they’re probably the Tumblr-est mascot you could think of.

I mean, they’re an acorn for goodness’ sake, they’re officially non-binary, and they’re all about sustainability. The school they represent is also very tumblr- SUNY ESF is a school dedicated to saving the Earth, and its student culture makes it a place where the genders are queer and the neuros are divergent :) People just stop to stare at a weird mushroom or interesting insect all the time here, and if someone spots them, instead of ridicule, you’ll probably have two people staring.

In conclusion, vote for Oakie!

Okay, I do enjoy and appreciate Rosalina. But Shade Lord has a special place in my heart. Not only are they the most powerful being in their world, the God of Gods, the incarnation of Void and Nothingness itself…. but they’re also Just A Little (agender) Guy! Look at this cute little bug!

Oakie the acorn is our school's mascot and they're the silliest. Every year there is a poll tournament for the best SUNY college mascot and I think they are the tumblr-iest. OMG. OP you have done something special for me: you reminded me of the name of the show I saw an episode of once at a friend’s house as a kid and really liked, but was thereafter never able to find again. Growing Up Creepie managed to speak so deeply to my bug-obsessed child self that fifteen-ish years later I still have some memory of the half episode I watched and I’m super excited right now. Like, I found it! I found that show I was half convinced I must have made up! I couldn’t pin down the specific episode I saw but aaaaa this is That Show skghjjhhg

I’m really curious as to what very short lived, premium channel series y’all remember if any.

Italian, German, Swedish, Polish, Hungarian and English and I only really know my ancestry up to my great-grandparents 🤷 Sadly the only one I currently speak fluently is English, growing up “white” in the US… I heard somewhere that being considered white in the USA often means giving up aspects of one’s culture and heritage in order to fit in, and knowing that so much never got passed down in the generations between my great-grandparents and me makes me really feel like there’s some truth to that.

requires absolutely no sound. complete silence only. if anyone so much as breathes…

NEED ALL THE NOISE. MUSIC AT FULL BLAST. The external volume has to be loud enough to drown out the internal volume so I can hear the one productive thought. I SAID THE EXT-

music has to be just loud enough that i can hear it, but quiet enough so i forget it’s on and i don’t get distracted by changing the song 

too late. i am now changing the song every .2 seconds. hits shuffle. hits shuffle. hits skip. switches playlist. creates a new playlist that is a slight variation of an already existing playlist. it’s been 5 hours.

Arya should win because she is a very kind and caring alchemist who is starting to learn magic from one of her friends. She was originally a human from a city that was stuck in a time-loop repeating the same day for nearly three years before escaping to try and find someone to help. When she returned to help free her home, her soul was split and half of her was sent back in time to become one of the reoccurring minor antagonists while the other half remained in the present and placed herself into her new clockwork body so she is strong enough that she won't be hurt like that again. Everyone who loves cute blorbos with ~trauma~ who will do anything for her friends (including betraying them) will love her <3

She has a clockwork body made out of brass and ivory with the cylinder of a music box in the center of her body. She has long red hair and purple and green eyes. Her clothes are technically part of her body, but she wears a long cloak with fluff lining the end of it and several pockets sewn into the inside of it. In combat she carries a clockwork staff made of a music box cylinder, a small pair of wings, and an amethyst to power it.
