Ok, if anyone is looking for a Fire Emblem Awakening longfic⦠I just read this work by jonagold on AO3 and enjoyed it so, so much. It explores the relationship between the future children and their present selves after the gameās end, particularly how the young Lucina grows up in a time of peace with the her from an alternate future in her lifeā¦. It reads like a coming-of-age novel and for me, it was a treat to find.
Hi everyone, weāre doing this again! The not-on-this-hellsite mascot poll is happening, and weāre encouraging people to vote for our favorite non-binary acorn! Like last time, weāll post an art piece weāve done for everyone who votes.
Tumblr people, can I ask something weird? Can I ask you to vote in a popular tournament pollā¦. Not on this hellsite? š„ŗšš
My schoolās mascot is Oakie the Acorn, and theyāre probably the Tumblr-est mascot you could think of.
I mean, theyāre an acorn for goodnessā sake, theyāre officially non-binary, and theyāre all about sustainability. The school they represent is also very tumblr- SUNY ESF is a school dedicated to saving the Earth, and its student culture makes it a place where the genders are queer and the neuros are divergent :) People just stop to stare at a weird mushroom or interesting insect all the time here, and if someone spots them, instead of ridicule, youāll probably have two people staring.
In conclusion, vote for Oakie!

Thanks to @nervoussaladbard for not only voting and reblogging, but sharing to a Discord server to get more support! In my opinion this gets two art things :)
Hereās one, a dragon I doodled in my notebook
I feel it would be helpful to share this article I found by @urbancripple regarding the correct usage of the accessible stall in a public restroom; if you donāt need the accessible stall, you shouldnāt use it, even if the others are all full. As an able-bodied person, I am ashamed to not have been aware of this, and I wanted to spread the message.
The author has answered other questions regarding needing accessible restrooms and further clarified that the need for the accessible stall or accessible restroom doesnāt have to be because of a mobility issue, but it does have to be a need rather than a matter of convenience. Here are links to the other questions and answers about this:
Using the accessible stall to avoid an accident
When the only gender-neutral restroom is the accessible one
Using the accessible restroom for sensory sensitivity
Just one stall in the menās room
i have a disease its called Dumbass Artist Disease and its incurable
donāt post to other websites (reblogs ok ā„) - (stickers here!)
Reminder about this because I am passionate and will not shut up about it lol
This is a little drawing I did in order to stick it to my laptop because I donāt have enough stickers as many stickers as I want :)
After I stuck it to my laptop, it tore, so I decided to fix it and make it look intentional. Itās a Shade from Hollow Knight- I love these funky little blobs of void
Thank you @printerpenguin for voting for Oakie :)
Okay, for anyone interested in the science here, I have a few clarifications.
First, early fossils of land plants date to around 433 million years ago, during the Silurian period, not to the Precambrian (defined as before around 540 million years ago).
Second, Tiktaalik was not the first land animal; it is known for being the earliest/one of the earliest vertebrates to walk on land, but arthropods got there first. Early centipedes and millipedes ventured out of the water relatively soon after the plants (around 425 million years ago, also during the Silurian), while Tiktaalik evolved around 375 million years ago, during the Devonian period.
can you imagine plants on land in the precambrian like aw fuck yeah fish cant even eat us anymore this owns and then tictilak shows up
Hi, we're the River System! Katlyn (she/they) and Jacob (he/him). Came for the fandoms, stayed for the off-the-wall and the cringe. 22, autistic (language abled and low support needs), Environmental Biology major. Actual Mad Scientists ;) [We do science and don't do sanity!] Mostly this is Katlyn obsessing over bugs and fandoms (Undertale, Hollow Knight, Little Nightmares, Fire Emblem: Awakening, RWBY, Arcane). Also may include photography, dark aesthetics, and general chaos from Jacob. (Cover photo by Sagar Patil on Unsplash)
