I Kind Of Wish Viv Would Stop Changing The Lore On Things

When we think of our favorite character, we all think of the specially the color associated with that character.

Examples:

Sonic - blue

Batman - black

Deadpool - red + black

The Simpsons - yellow

The iron giant - gray

Joker - purple

Princess peach - pink

I try to choose some very popular characters. But still, as you can see, the dominant color aspect of their character is very much there.

The reason why it is important to add the dominant color to characters:

● It helps people recognize that character instantly

● Plus, if you are going to be really official, it can help with branding your character, like how companies try to do with their brand recognition.

While hazbin Hotel just sticks with the same colors (which it is completely fine, i will explain later). All the main characters have their dominant color as red, white, black, or pink.

I try to stick with the main cast, and as you can see, they all have either red, white, pink, or black going on for their dominant color.

Now, it is completely fine if you use the same dominant colors for your characters. A good example of this is Spiderman across the spider verse.

All of the spidermans share the colors of blue + red, but for miles and gwen. Miles is red + black, while gwen is white + pink.

But what makes the characters look unique despite sharing the same color palette. Are the backgrounds!

Spider verse backgrounds

All the backgrounds I choose have a purple/blue theme going on, but they still have colors that make them pop enough to have both the characters themselves stick out while also leaving you with drop-dead gorgeous backgrounds!

Seriously, look at miles! The background really made him pop out while keeping the background unique as well!

Hazbin hotel backgrounds

The Hazbin hotel backgrounds are good! But I feel like something is missing. Since the backgrounds and the characters are the same colors, the characters don't pop at all.

Look at lucifer at the bottom picture. Yes, he pops out, but he still looks like he is blending in with the background rather than sticking out.

I mean, look at the yellow lamp at the right. The lamp is sticking out more than the character.

Final takes:

The amount of detail in the Spiderman backgrounds is crazy. I do understand that for animation purposes, the backgrounds have to be simpler in Hazbin Hotel.

Overall, I just suggest you don't overuse the same colors for your characters, BUT if you absolutely have to! Please don't make your background the same color! It won't make your character pop, nor it would look good unless you know what the heck you are doing.

I have another thing to conference

Everything I have learned about the Hazbin Hotel characters either comes from the wiki or the fandom.

Seriously, I don't like how you have to do homework to understand the characters' background. And I don't get the, "you have to watch the livestreams to understand!"

Look, I should watch the livestreams for fun, not because I have too. Plus, some these livestreams go on 2 hours or more.

Some people, including me, don't have time to watch 2 hours of information that is not gonna be in the show.

I think livestreams are great to explore people questions, but a lot of these livestreams are old and likely not to be canon anymore. So that is why I'm a bit hesitant to watch the livestreams as well.

Can’t stop thinking about a very specific dynamic

A healer and a knight fall in love.

The healer spends hours healing everyone but themselves. Caring for the sick, stitching wounds, setting bones, pushing dislocated limbs back into place. Wearing themselves to exhaustion.

The knight gently tends to the healer. Holds them in a hot bath, rubbing the soreness from their muscles under the warm water. Applies balm to their chapped fingers. Brings them tea and tucks them into bed before climbing in beside them.

The knight defends everyone. Fights off the enemy with a sword and a shield, takes the blows intended for someone else, holds the line until help arrives, fights through any and all injuries they need to in order to defend those under their protection.

The healer defends the knight when they’re down for the count. When the knight collapses, the healer takes up their sword and defends them until they get back to their feet. If someone dares to say anything against their knight they get in their faces and the healers words are sharp and cold as any blade, cutting deep into their opponent.

Making Valentines merch of your ship that's mainly focused around abuse, S/A, and class/racial discrimination (where the lower-class, implied POC is seen as chained to his abuser) as a cop and prisoner (with the victim being the cop and the abuser being the prisoner) is...a choice...

also the pixeled-out bit on Blitz's side is just 🤢

What I like about the new episode is that we finally see Millie and Blitz relationship away from the main group, I wished we got to see more of it sooner in season 1 instead of season 2.

My only problem is how come Millie is so chill with Blitz? Blitz and Loona have been shown to fatshame Moxxie (the person she MARRIED too)

I get the main person who fatshames Moxxie is Loona, but at the end of the day, Blitz doesn't do anything to stop Loona.

Blitz also follows both Millie and Moxxie back to their apartment. And Blitz is shown breaking in and recording them.

So, I don't get how Millie is so chill with the guy who hasn't been paying her or her husband for a month. Who also stalk and break into their apartment.

I just expected that in the episode, we were going to see a scene where Millie talks to Blitz about his actions.

(Maybe in the future episode, they might cover it?)

I think the downright most horrific and brutal detail in the show is that Kilgharrah actually used Merlin to make sure Arthur's death happened with the pretence of protecting him

Merlin: Lancelot, I'm heading to Ealdor. Finally got the Prat to let me have my days off. But I hate to ask this, can you please keep an eye on Arthur for me?

Lancelot: Of course my friend. You can count on me.

Merlin: No seriously Lance, this is Arthur we're talking about. With him you'll need to keep constant vigilance.

Lancelot: It'll be OK Merlin. I promise, nothing will happen to Arthur while you're away.

Merlin: *Deeply sceptical but seriously needs a vacation*

Merlin: OK.

Lancelot: 😊 Have faith. How much trouble can Arthur get into within a week?

Leon the only Sane One left: Then Arthur didn't like the servant serving him, firing them on the spot. Next came Gwaine commenting on Arthur looks without Merlin around. Then they started arguing and Gwaine went into the dungeons to prove some point about something.

Arthur: *Mutters* He said I wouldn't last a day. Told him he can't last sober.

Merlin: 🤨

Leon: *Sighs long suffering* Then a sorcerer, no more then a young boy came trying to kill Arthur and failed. He fell over Arthur's messy room and knocked himself unconscious.

Merlin: 😦

Leon: Next the council wanted to burn the boy but Arthur wouldn't have it and tossed half of them in the dungeons.

Merlin: 😑

Arthur: 😅

Leon: And today, when training, An assassin tried to kill Arthur and would have succeeded if not for the sorcerer boy who was again attempting to kill Arthur but moved him out of the way slightly instead.

Merlin: 😓 And where is Gaius?

Leon: There is a birth happening in the lower town.

Merlin: ... Get my Medical Bag and I'll take care of the wound. *Sighs* I was only gone for a week...

Lancelot: And Never again.

Arthur and Leon: *Nods*

Camelot: Never Leave us Merlin!

Uther after seeing Gwen and Arthur kiss: Arthur what the actual fuck has gotten in you?! Arthur: Father I - Uther: How could you- I mean is this because of me? Is your sole aim to defy me??! Arthur: What no that's not the reason Uther: Oh so you just randomly decided to betray Merlin with Morgana's maid? Right after I told him I approve of your 'BOND'. I'm not a fool Arthur, I knew that boy was too good for you. He would have given his life for you! MULTIPLE TIMES! You BETRAYED him. When all he did was protect you, even gave you a sword - literally not metaphorically speaking. Arthur: Wha- Uther: you have no shame HE IS ADORABLE ARTHUR

MY REVIEW OF EPISODE 3!

Summary of the episode: The episode follows the hotel as they do trust exercises, Charlie puts vaggie in changes. In plot B, we follow Alastor as he goes to an overlord meeting.

My problems short formed:

● so much was going on, but it was still boring

● Some things should be saved for another episode

● cut back on characters

My problems long formed:

● this episode was really boring. It just was a miss for me, I mean, we knew about the angel head. I was surprised when Velvette had the angel head, and Camille was the one that did it, but the shock was over because after that episode, we got nothing on angel head at all.

So I suggest separating Vaggie plot for her own episode, then leave this episode to Camille and velvette as a whole. Before I forget, I suggested in my earlier reviews, keeping the audience from knowing about the angel head, and then when the angel head is thrown, I just know all the audience would be completely focus.

● like I said, vaggie should have an episode focused on her. And who she is without charlie, all the people I seen who like vaggie only like her because she with Charlie.

And I personally feel like you should like the characters for who they are, not who they are with. And for vaggie without or with Charlie, she basically summed up to be angry, doesn't trust anyone, and without a second thought, and pull out her spear.

(I just find it funny that vaggie doesn't do anything with her spear fighting wise until the last couple of episodes)

● I suggest, to cut back on characters, and the overlords could be those characters. I mean, none of them even really spoke except maybe 6.

I think the episode should've the overlords meeting being canceled because everyone was busy or made up excuses on why they didn't show up.

My rewrite:

So we see Camila working, then velvette kick the door open.

Velvette is demanding for Camila use the information she knows. Camila doesn't want to be part of it.

Then velvette talk about how in recent years Camila has been losing more respect form the overlords. Then respectless happens, and then velvette is kicked out. As Camila starts to be more tense, her shadow starts to stretch out, becoming alastor shadow.
