On Thursday, May 16, the pop starβs debut album Sour β which she released in 2021 β became the most streamed album by a female artist in #Spotify history.
According to a press release, Sour βearned the most U.S. audio streams for a female debut album ever and broke the record for the most-streamed album in a week by a female artist on Spotify.β
The album also entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and became βthe longest-running debut album in the chartβs top 10 of the 21st century.β
A rep for Rodrigo confirmed to PEOPLE that the record has earned more than 21 million consumption units worldwide.
