Awesome X-Key fan art of submission from krisyona1994. You can check out her page for more of her art.
Lead artist Jonathan likes to do what he calls “non-destructive drawing”, in which layers or other methods are used to separate different steps of an illustration in order to make changes to specific parts.
This can result in a lot of layers being put down but it’s nice to be able to go back and see how the rough sketch led to the final drawing :)
Fan art! Check out krisyona1994 and drawing of Liltih! Love the shades of red! Thanks so much!
We love posting and reblogging people’s fan art so if you have some let me know and I’ll be sure to give you a shoutout. Thanks again!
Here’s a bit info about our process: After sketching, Jonathan inks line art and shading over a non photo blue copy of the sketch. Then I split the image digitally into separate layers in photoshop and illustrator.
Also, wow you guys!!! We have 3,000 followers!!!! Thank you so much for liking and reblogging our stuff!! Your support means a whole lot and is really motivating so keep coming back here and at highoctanerevolution.com for more X-Key goodness!!
Fan art! @clever_girl_raptor drew X-Key and we love it!
Another early concept. X-Key with colored pencils. This was drawn in the fall of 2010 and I colored it a few weeks later. I had the basic design for her appearance and core story ideas at this point but not a great deal else.
Another day on the job.
Quick little doodles by Jonathan.
X-Key for highoctanerevolution.com. The original artwork was used for Our groundwork and presentations, a modified version was used on our shirts at NYCC. We are making a lot of new artwork for 2015 and we can’t wait to share more.
Getting ready for the next round. A box of X-Key flyers.
Just a quick sketch of Lilith's bike today. Dycorp Model S-Custom. Both drawings are done with sharpie and pencils. I colored one with photoshop to show how the color scheme looks. This is the bike Lilith rides in "Days On Edge".
