This was already talked about in someone else’s post, at least regarding the 200x Motu comics and how it treats its female characters, but I wanna rant a bit about how little of Evil-Lyn’ power is actually shown in the Rise of the Snakemen comic (issue 3) compared to the 2002 show.
In the comic they clearly and explicitly show Evil-Lyn defeating the whole Snakemen army that was attacking Castle Grayskull in one fell swoop.
Not only that but it added to her character. It showed that she respects and seeks out those that are powerful to improve her own standing and doesn’t take their defeat lightly if she happened to be working for them at the time. Especially if she’d been treated the way she was by the Snakemen and King Hiss: threatened, nearly eaten and just pushed to the side once her service was considered done. Like she said, the whole affair of aiding them was a complete waste of her efforts.
Compare that to how that scene played out in the show: … She’s not even there! She’s gone after King Hiss, Rattlor and Snake-Face enter the castle. Instead, the Snakemen all turn into lemmings after Hiss is beaten and throw themselves after him into the pit. Next we see her is when she’s running from Skeletor and his warriors begging the Faceless One to help her. You know- the character that was also incredibly nerfed.
I….WHY….why are you so HOT!!!! He’ says Nyeeh and he’s hot
I'm so obsessed with the current ATLA comics artsyle. Everyone looks SO GOOD. I love how handsome and perfect Aang, esp that he's 16 in the comics. I love how cute and badass Toph is. I love the rigid shapes on Sokka that show his masculine personality, but still combined with his smug expressions. I love the texture of Katara's hair. I LOVE how BEAUTIFUL Azula, Zuko, and Ursa are and how they all kind of have the same face. I love how Azula looks in her comic so much, I can't describe why, but she just looks so good. Iroh looks the same tbh, he's just chilling. AND SUKI LOOKS SO MASC HERE!!
Artist is Peter Wartman and the Colors are done by Ryan Hill btw
SOBBING UGH!!! I miss fricell, I miss seeing the narcissistic green bug and sociopathic white lizard go at each other's throats
Here we see a husband and wife’s first date. They both cute.
