My dash is a bit slow. I think only two people I follow ever post anymore.
If you’re an adult (18+) and you write original fiction, maybe like or reblog this so I can follow?
I can’t promise I’ll follow automatically, but chances are higher if you(’re)
⭐ Write and read something other than YA
⭐ Actually post about writing, or post your actual writing, rather than mainly posting fandom and shitposts
⭐ Write literary and/or experimental fiction (this includes literary genre fiction too, e.g., literary/experimental scifi)
⭐ Not an anti-intellectual (”Classics Bad! Books for adults are all boring and about divorce! YA and fanfic are superior!” - not interested in this mentality)
⭐ Keep social justice and current events posts to a minimum unless it’s relevant to writing (to be clear, I am a queer leftist. But I want a writing-centric dash and I get this kind of thing elsewhere)
Side note, I’m not a new writeblr. I used to be @inkvials
The Weekly Writing Update #15
11.12.22
Okay so I had major writers block this week, :( I kept sitting down to write but nothing came to me. but I worked on the plot a little bit so hopefully I write more SOMETIME when I’m not working or sleeping.
⇨ Alden is now introduced a little bit later, and how he’s introduced is also changed as well as his relationship to Tomoe. I think this can make their relationship a bit more interesting, but I also loved their old dynamic so don’t be surprised if next week I go back on this. But to be fair, I can still use their old dynamic and adapt it to this change… hmmm
⇨ Working on my villains and their motives. God I’m going to make them the sexiest bitches ever
I think that’s all. I’m really a lousy writer and always focus on the ‘planning’ and ‘ideas’ rather than actually writing, but I want to document my progress nonetheless.
The Weekly Writing Update #4
08.27.22
Not much to update on this week. It’s been slow
⇨ I made a few slight changes to the plot, the protagonist’s journey being a much more direct result of what the villain is doing and now making them much more connected plot-wise, and not just through backstory
⇨ still only a few hundred words in, but I know where I’m going so hopefully I make more progress within the next few weeks
⇨ As I’ve said previously, I had a handful of details and a character that I didn’t know what to do with and so it didn’t overload the plot, but I think with the change I’ve made, everything fits and it’s not too much :) yay!
Hopefully this STICKS and I don’t keep overthinking and changing the plot every week.
XOXO~

you don't have to include their real actual names and you don't have to have main characters with every single one of these things. But neurodivergent and mentally ill people should EXIST in fantasy stories and fantasy societies, because we exist in real life. We deserve to be acknowledged.
@ fanfic authors: don’t apologise for writing filler chapters! i see this all the time!! filler chapters are so important to narrative pacing! a story needs downtime so the faster paced or denser elements have room to breathe! you’re writing a well balanced story!!! also, you’re giving me that filler for free! thats crazy!!! thats so kind of you!!! thank you for this gift!!!!!!

The Weekly Writing Update #13
10.29.22
Again, not much of an update this week. My (minuscule) progress was mostly ideas this week. And I hate that when I actually had free time this past week, when I sat down to write there were no words. Writers block is such a BITCH
But anyway, I’m glad to have had some new ideas.
⇨ I created the villain for the end of the series, the one at the end of everything. Even got a sick ass name, I just need to visualize their appearance using picrew. Because I can’t draw.
⇨ Got a cool idea for 1-2 (possibly 3??) chapters in the middle. Which is good, because right now the middle of the book is just a vague idea. I need more plot/chapters ideas for the middle but for now I’ll start here!
