Hey so I try my hardest to avoid what ever is going on with the Flaming Homosexuals ( Eddie and Bucky ) but for my sake of understanding as I scroll past the posts at Mach 12, I have a couple questions:
They’re firemen, right? Do you guys call them Flaming Gays? Cause if not you’re really missing out with that one.
Which one of them is out as bisexual, and is the show still pretending the other one is straight?
This is really embarrassing but…what actually is the show’s name? Every time I’ve thought I knew the answer ( twice ) it turned out I was wrong.
Some of my poems got accepted for the first issue of a lit magazine. I haven’t told anyone but my sister. I’m scared they’ll change their minds by the time the issue comes out, and I’ll have looked silly for thinking my work was worthy of publishing.
Obsessed with the way this ad is popping up in the Bruce Wayne tag
I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.
Boy Clothes by Nxdia does what most people think white guys wearing eyeliner does for gender revolution
Paul Atreides is canonically nonbinary.
Seriously.
The first time I read Dune I thought-
“Frank Herbert is doing a great job explaining gender variance in science fiction in a time when they did not have the modern vocabulary for gender expression.”
Paul is his father’s son and his mother’s daughter. He’s quite literally bred to have access to knowledge and power only accessible to men or women.
RIP Paul you would have loved ‘I am not a woman, I’m a god’ by Halsey.
So at what point in writing your book do you admit that you realized halfway through the outlining process-
“Fuck I’m writing wolfstar as lesbians.”
“You make a mess of mistakes, I just savour the taste, but I forgave this worthless world, because it gave me you.”
“I did this all so you could have your happy after, a never ending chapter. Call you up in the middle of the night just to enchant you[…]Now I’m part of you for the rest of your damn life.”
“Said you wanted closure, it’s never really over, didn’t wanna scare ya when I lost all my composure. Wishing you would save me, am I going just crazy? Every shooting stars rolling their eyes at me lately.”
Hades from Hercules 🤝 Getting mad that your hot girl bestie is ignoring you to hang out with a 🤢GUY🤮 🤝 Me
You ever find yourself 500 words deep in an essay about kink theory and think to yourself “How did I get here? Is this what I want to be doing with my life?”
Because when that happens I usually just keep on writing.
