in the “coven” i’m in a lot of people found this helpful so i thought i’d post here!! naturally there are likely other methods, but these are what i’ve come in contact with the most. so in my experience there are 2 ways to create a ward: creating an astral safe space & manipulating energy to act as a shield.
1. creating an astral safe space is exactly what it sounds like. it’s your own space, where you can always access. you’re not actually astral traveling anywhere, because your safe space is essentially a part of you — it’s like your home, but astrally. ( it is possible to explore your own astral space, change it, or continue to develop it. ) naturally, this will require the ability to astral project.
an example: my astral safe space has multiple layers. the most general or “least safe” is the setting, which is a familiar forest modeled after a real forest i would spend a lot of time as a kid. i feel safe there. if i don’t feel safe in that space, i go to my next layer, and my most secure (excluding my deity & her spaces): my truck. i imagine myself in my truck, slamming the doors shut, rolling up the windows, locking the doors. nothing can get me there.
2. manipulating energy to act as a shield is more self explanatory. you take your energy and imagine it spreading across your whole body as to cover you. then you simply spread it outwards, until it’s like a bubble or dome, and then you solidify it. this method is easier but less reliable, as sometimes someone will simply make a lot of poor shields rather than one or two strong ones.
bonus: astral warding
astral warding & protection can manifest in many ways. the manipulated energy is always assumed to be there and is not visible. however, wardings can manifest as a part of your astral form.
example: after i met gaia and she gave me her protection, my astral body became surrounded by thick, thorny vines.
happy warding witches!!!

When and what to plant! Who else will be starting a garden this Spring?
Hey so I’ve collected snow water, but I don’t know what to use it for - do you have any suggestions?
hey there!
well that partially depends on your personal correspondences for snow! for me, it represents new beginnings, innocence, transformation etc, but it could mean something entirely different to you, so I’d start by figuring that out! I’d also recommend making sure the snow is as clean as possible, and maybe boil it before use, but I wouldn’t drink it, if I were you.
uses for snow water:
❄️make a ‘spritz’ for refreshing spaces. this is what I’m thinking of doing with mine! the air in my room is feeling pretty stagnant, partially because it’s too cold to open any windows so I’m going to make a spritz of snow water and other vitalising ingredients to freshen up my room. (I might make a post detailing my recipe?)
❄️on a similar theme, perhaps clean any ritual items or your altar etc with a lil’ snow water to reinvigorate and charge ready for the arrival of the spring
❄️add a little to a ritual bath, especially with the intention of starting new habits, making changes in your life, purifying etc
❄️it’d be good to use in any spells that involve its correspondences, for example, I wrote a spell for washing away bad habits and snow water would be perfect for it!
❄️give it to any houseplants for a little boost!
❄️some deities or spirits might appreciate it as an offering
❄️if you’re into art magick,, you might like to paint with it, or make inks etc, it would be especially great to use in your grimoire!
hope this helps!

D’you ever get those days where enough is ENOUGH and you just have to spell jar the shit out of a protection spell (shuddup that totally makes sense)? Well, that was how I felt his morning.
This here is actually my first spell jar, one to protect my mental and emotional health.
My method and ingredients are mainly based off this protection spell bottle by @greekwitchchild with a couple of minor changes.
I don’t have oak leaves to hand, so I used chamomile flowers in their place for protection, peace and happiness.
Instead of writing my sigil on a piece of paper, I wrote it on the bay leaf I used in the jar. Full disclosure - the leaf was brittle and did crumble a bit as I inserted it. So, on the fly, I added though the sigil be broken, my intent remains whole into my “spell” (saying out loud the purpose of each ingredient as I added it to the jar).
The partially burned candle and jasmine incense stick were left from a circle casting I did while meditating a couple of days of ago. So I used them again to cast my circle and purify my space while I worked.
I shall be carrying this little beauty with me as I visit my boyfriend for the next 7 days or so. Negativity can fuck right off <3
Some basics of Crystals!!! Enjoy lovelies!!
Part 1 ☆♡☆
I wish to be with the trees.
Roaming the forest for so long that I eventually start to become it.
I will grow antlers and claws.
Mushrooms with sprout from my skin, ivy will wrap itself around my limbs.
My eyes will glow in the dark, I will be able to speak to the animals and plants.
I will live in a cave, and host picnics for all of the citters.
I will thank the trees for letting me be with them.
I do not deserve them.
