I love love love the Jedi Apprentice series for obi-wan backstory bc it adds so much to his character... But to do that for him and ignore the fact that padme has the same depth to her (if not more!) is really disrespectful imo

it does bother me how deeply people will mine obi-wan's child soldier trauma that comes from a dubiously-canon book and isn’t referenced at any point in the movies (or shows), but straight-up never talk about padme's child soldier/queen trauma, which is half the plot of tpm and while maybe clumsily followed-up on, is nonetheless a real genuine part of her character included from the start

Especially frustrating when they only talk about Anakin! Like, here's ONE guy with serious childhood trauma who felt restricted and repressed by the Jedi. Clearly the Jedi caused him to do crimes and were also bad for the entire galaxy

U can watch Star Wars so many times and it doesn’t prepare u for how dumb Star Wars is. For one thing I think we gloss over how kenobi (who has definitely been at the club. Please.) describes the mos eisley cantina as the worst most villainous place ever and then u get inside and it’s a pack of muppets vaping
