It’s another of the artimators!! Cherri!!!!!!!!!! I had to draw @cherrifire of course, because Cherri’s artwork was what first introduced me into the idea of fanart and the concept of being a commission artist, as well as the first person who streams I started watching and whose blog I started following. I love your art Cherri!!! (Also your music taste)

It’s kinda messy cause I was on a time crunch and trying out some different brushes, and also Cherri is surprisingly hard to find a reference of. Like, Cherri what shoes do you wear. Cause I have never seen them. I ended up going with a fanart I found of her for the rest of the outfit that I couldn’t piece together via stream thumbnails, but Cherri please give us a reference of your sona it’s so pretty and I wanna draw it properly! Anyways yeah. Also as I was drawing this I noticed that Cherri just. Like. Has pointy teeth. I did not notice this before. How have I never noticed this before? Am I the only who just, like missed that the pink flower magic fire eyeball lady has extra sharp danger biteys? Anyway sorry for rambling I love your art Cherri and I love watching your streams and seeing all the stuff you draw in YouTube thumbnails and being like “I know who drew that!” and singing along to the crane wives during your streams and drawing along to your vods!! (This is referring to my Hermitcraft x magic the gathering au. I’m currently working on Joel because I’m definitely not obsessed, and I’ve made him Kamigawan (during the neon dynasty) because it fits his season 10 theme

guys this took so long. And I kind of hate it. But I spent too long on it to not post it so here it is. (Below the ramble)

So I’ve decided Joel is only half moonfolk, which I don’t know if that’s a thing in mtg canon but it is here because that explains the hair, why he’s in Towashi (cause otherwise that would defeat the whole point of him being kamigawan), and also nerfs him for me. No floating for you!! Ig he can just, idk, jump really far? I’m still working things out. (Also i still gotta figure out how Joel’s spark ignites, and how that affects that plot given that I’m setting during the phyrexian invasion, mostly, cause timelines are gonna get a little wonky)

As for Etho, here I have him as a Kami, but that could change later if I decide he’d work better as a planeswalker. The only Kami type I could find that appeared even vaguely humanoid were oonas, but those are specifically only women, so ig trans Etho? Idk, like I said I’m still figuring it out. (Ooh, I could make him a face stealer Kami that I forgot the name of and am too lazy to look up and just ignore the canon design!) currently he’s wearing a placeholder outfit while I figure out his design. also disclaimer I’m kind of ignoring and making up a lot of stuff from mtg canon for this au, so if something doesn’t match what you know about magic lore, you’re just gonna have to accept it and move on.

I’ve recently discovered that wizards of the coast makes soundtracks to go with each set and i have listened to the kamigawa neon dynasty (it’s actually my favorite set what a coincidence that my fav hermit happened to be there in my au) soundtrack an embarrassing amount of times. Also next I’ll probably do Tango’s design since I know where he’s gonna go (im basically picking a planeswalker or powerful creature for each hermit to base my design, origin, and role in the story off of, and of course Chandra was the obvious pick for tango) but I have to do a bit more research on Kaladesh before I can confirm my design.

also Joel is based off of Tamiyo (so that gives you a clue as to how much liberty im taking with these designs/ backstories/ personalities/ actions / everything of the things everyone is based off of) and for those of you who know the lore, and are wondering if I’m gonna do to Joel what wizards of the coast did to Tamiyo, >:D. Wait and see.

This is just a sketchy thing, I didn’t even fully shade it or anything cause I’m really tired, but I think it came out alright! Also I know Gerard “spent half his career denying vampire allegations” way is definitely a pasty boy basement dweller if there ever was one, but the killjoys lived in the desert their whole lives and were descended from people who lived in the desert their whole lives, so I figured that poison would have a darker complexion than Gee.

Like. Obviously the biblically accurate canon appearance of the Minecraft cubitos that we all collectively brain rot and obsess over are not going to even vaguely resemble the real people we draw them as, and personally I think that’s beautiful.

When the boat boys turned red, Joel “green stripe” smallishbeans probably dyed his hair with ease, but Etho might’ve needed a little help. I mean, when you die and come back from the dead as evil murderers, you’ve got to get your makeover just right before you go back and kill everyone!

Someone should write a fic about this where they have to stand really close to each other for Joel to dye Ethos hair properly and they’re weird and gay about it. <- whoa who said that.

I will draw them with you in solidarity (gaming. Sorry Jimmy ruined that word for me) ! !!!! !!!! Motivation!!! Rahhhh do the things score the points win the goals or whatever sports people say!! If you finish your lag duo drawing I will draw whatever you want forever that was already an option but like send in a request and it will go to the top of my to draw list but Only if you finish your drawing unless you don’t want to and that’s totally chill too and I will still probably draw anything for you and wow I’m terrible at this. It took so long but I now have a Tango design. This is a huge milestone I spent four hours on this drawing but this was years in the making I’ve wanted to draw him for so long but didn’t have a design.

I kinda hate it, but I spent too long on this not to post it. Tango is one of my favorite lifers/hermits, but I literally never draw him because I can’t figure out a design I like. Also I tried a new thing where I drew it grayscale first and then colored underneath the shading, and idk how I feel about it, but it was fun so I might do it again. Also I’m in the early learning phases of learning how to draw semi-realistically so um ignore the fact that his face is real derpy. Also if anyone has seen tango’s nose he appears to be missing it and would probably like it back now.
