People always talk about what fandom is the most toxic like the usual culprits are Hazbin hotel, undertale, BTS,Marvel, LOL, the classics but I think everyone is ignoring sports. People are literally fuckin insane when it comes to literally any sport at least in the US. The only difference between it and online fandoms are is the fact that people don't have shipping wars and talk about whether or not its problematic to ship baseballs with soccer balls this shit also goes back like decades most tumblr fandoms go back at most like 20 years.
I'd like to expand the post I made about looking inside of other people's houses (I swear it's not weird) and that's about my own house I mean it wasnt ACTUALLY my house but whatever :p. My house was actually pretty large not insane or anything we didn't live in a mansion and we're not rich but my parents got a good deal so the house was always brimming with rooms to go in and one of the most interesting things to me were our basement and attic. Our attic was old because the forst thing you see whenever you open the door was a very twisted staircase since the attic was to the left of the door the stairs had to twist but they were so small and each step was way more vertically speard out then normal stairs so it's was always a weird climbing experience and that's not all because it had a very distinct smell very wooden and earthy and also the attic was very creaky as you would expect so every kinda felt like it was going to fall a at anymore but it got even wielder cause whenever you went up their was a door that would take you to the actually attic since the area that the stairs Keats you to isn't the full attic and it's was really small for some reason?????? it really looked like it was for an 8 year old it was very odd and whenever you opened the door one of the weirdly massive floor boards (they were all like a foot wide) was missing and another was broken in half and not cleanly I never understood why this was the case but I can't think if ANY reason that isn't like a wood theif going around stealing floor boards for experiments. The basement was also interesting it was very dark and filled with spider webs and stuff and always gave off an almost bunker type feel and had stuff like my sisters bikes and the most interesting part was that there was a staircase that led out to a door that would go into our parking lot im sure other old houses have thia but it was very strange. There's more that I could say but I think this post is already long enough and as you can tell I am terrible at writing stuff efficiently.
I find it so fascinating how there are some phenomenon from the early internet that were SO popular but it seems like ever references them nowadays, the examples I've been thinking about a lot are what the fox say? and da fuq boom. wtfs was REALLY popular in its time but unlike others song from that period no on talks about it. I even remember seeing those roleplay reactions videos like tails reacts to wtfs, everyone wanted in on the hype it was the THING at its peak but it go completely forgotten about, same with da fuq boom which was a clip that was used a lot in a bunch of classic ytps and whose only recognition is being the name of the guy who made skibidi toilet.I feel like so may classic memes have been given new life in rest years i.e trollface but there are still some that haven't been talked in a decade which is nuts.
I love how in Sci-fi humans are either unforgivable ontological evil beings made of hate and prejudice or we are literally perfect gods that desvere constant praise from our lesser alien neighbors and literally no in-between.
I'm not gonna give context to this but a little bit a go in school I was talking with one of my friends and making jokes about jelqing and how he was doing the opposite and I said he was "Micromaxxing" and its probably the funniest things I've ever said and I'm flabbergasted that that isn't already a word. His laughter fit afterwords made me feel a little to proud of myself to be honest.
Ya, know I've been seeing a lot of people on tumblr and on other parts of the internet talk about how certain multiwriter universes like the backrooms and scp have been ruined by people giving it too much lore and making it not interesting and how they lost their mystique by having too much lore and stuff and personally I cam agree to an extent like the backrooms had a very interesting concept and liminality of it all is something you never really saw up to that point but at the same time I feel like it's unavoidable for stuff like this because of our natrual curiosity with the unknown like for example whenever you discover some interesting series or some historical event ypur first instinct is never "Oh I don't wanna know more about this fascinating topic" you naturally WANT to learn more so with stuff like the backrooms it's only human instinct to make up lore because we just can't stand something staying unknown. Obviously I know some people don't care but your never gonna squash the attempets people make to more to a universe.
I might just be biased cause I thought the extra backrooms lore that people made was kinda interesting expaclity its use of other popular liminal space images and the sometimes really interesting entity concepts but whatever lol.
The best thing that about reddit it how easily things in the comments can change subject like someone posted spongebob meme in a comments section and someone turned it into a lesbian sex meme. Also someone then replied with the SESBIAN LEX image, I just love the internet sometimes
Actually conversation two dudes had in my class like 40 minutes ago
Kid1: Would you have have a gay son or a that daughter?
Kid2: I mean would he have a gay voice like OH my Godπ π (in a stereotypical gay voice) or just like hey
Kid1: Yeah probably a thot daughter
Kid2: yeah but what if you come home and see her getting into bed with some guy
Kid1: Nah i wouldn't care I would abandon that bitch immediately
Kid1: Ok how about a transgender son or a furry daughter
Kid2: I mean if I had a furry daughter I would just put a shock collar on her like STOP STOP
Kid1:Yeah
I fucking hate school
I live in New Jersey in a pretty progressive school they even have posters all around the building that you not to discriminate based off of race, gender, sexuality, etc and even one classroom that has like 15 different pride flags around it but still these assholes prevale it would be inspiring if it wasn't the worst.
Can people in the comments tell me how your school played red rover? Because the that people describe it is different to how we played it. At the start one person is in the middle and will say to send anyone wearing a certain color on their clothes over not just a specific person and the person goal would be to get to the other side of the gym and if you got caught you would get in the middle line but your arms didn't have ti be connected you just had to stay in the line. DId anyone else's school do it similar to this?
Ya know one thing I find pretty interesting about social media, Especially reddit is that despite the internet's sometimes prudish nature I feel like most of the horny sides to these platforms are more wholesome and caring than pretty much any other part of their respective websites. I guess as kids were sort of told that sexuality is unpure by nature and we lose the fact that these people are doing this because it's fun and it feels good that all their is to it its not any deeper than that. Obviously their are the bad ones like the pedophilic ones but those are the outliers and most of these communities are pretty nice I would say.
