Petition: Save Good Omens, Fire Neil Gaiman

Please consider signing the petition below that I created this morning since it seems that we have not yet formally asked for this to happen and it must. I've included the petition text here as well:

We, the fan community of Good Omens, are calling on Amazon to fire Neil Gaiman and replace him with a new showrunner for Season 3. 

After several days of digesting the abhorrent abuses of power to which Gaiman self-admits guilt, it is evident that the values of this long-running community are not reflected by Mr. Gaiman. Many of us are sexual assault survivors ourselves and all of us are allied with those who are. We feel very strongly that we cannot financially support Good Omens with Mr. Gaiman still in a position of power within it and are calling for his immediate dismissal.

As a decades-old fandom who has long-since proven reach and spending power, we feel confident that Amazon will see the value in producing more Good Omens the way we request: with Mr. Gaiman gone from the process.

Here’s some info about them:

•(name TBD), she/her, 17, lesbian, Rwandan-Brazilian roots, loves nature and tea, cottagecore, environmentalist, crystals, kind, painter, plays guitar, sings, gentle, motherly to her friends, loves good food, loves to dance but in a gothic/spiritual kind of way, pagan-ish (kinda new to the religion), plant-witch, cat lover, likes hippie style clothing and makeup.

•(name TBD), he/him, mid 20s-30s, straight(?), some sort of hispanic roots (TBD), tired all the time, hates his job, coffee addict, single but doesn’t want to be, lonely, has a passion for art but had to give it up, cannot for the life of him take care of himself properly, can cook well if he actually puts in effort.

Context: A group of prodigy, queer, neurodivergent teenagers from the American south decide to break into the capital one day because they’re bored. They hire an agent (?) who hates his job to be their “guy on the inside”. He ends up bonding with them and it’s a whole found family-thing.

These two are main characters. The first girl is a member of the group of teenagers. The guy is the agent they ‘hire’.

I plan on making this film a reality in my future.

I want their names to be culturally accurate and not stereotypes.

Also, neither of them support Palestine. But if Kamala wins, us as a collective population can try and convince her. She also stated during the debate that she feels for the suffering in Gaza and wishes for the war to end. I’m hoping she stays by her word.

If not, then we must fight to do everything we can to make sure we help Palestine. Everything.

My name is CJ and I’m a trans man. I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and I still live there today. My dad is a Chilean immigrant and he came to this country when he was only 8, spending most of his live in the beautiful land of Puerto Rico. My mom grew up in Florida (where I was born) and has mainly Irish ancestry. I have two older brothers, both in college. One attends Juilliard, the other UNCC. Most of my friends are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. I also have friends who are children of immigrants, just like me.

When I was born, it was induced by medication and I was born 8 weeks early due to a disease my mom had contracted while pregnant with me. We both survived thanks to the doctors and nurses who helped my mom deliver me safely. Due to my premature birth, I have struggled my whole life with chronic illness and disability.

I am telling you all of this because I am scared. Tomorrow is November 5th, Election Day, and depending on who wins I may be in serious danger.

Please, for the sake of me, my friends, my family, the trans community, the chronically ill, the disabled community, immigrants, immigrant families, women who need access to healthcare, and EVERY. SINGLE. American citizen…
