Sooo when Buddie inevitably happens - I think I really would like to see how the writers are going to work on them as a relationship.

Because Buck has had a couple of serious attempts at relationships getting progressively more healthy. But… Eddie hasn’t. His relationships have been bad if not apocalyptically so. His healthiest relationship has probably been Shannon.

So I’d love to see the “oh” moments, the puppy love, but I’d also really like the writers to take some time to also maybe show growth in their relationship- the “you build it” that Buck has been actively looking for.

But I’d also like to see how they handle and mishandle each other. Like Eddie has even referred to to himself as a Nester but also feels like he’s abandoned Shannon and certainly didn’t nest with Ana or Marisol- but lack of communication may explain how he nested with Shannon.

Basically, I’d like the writers to go through a lot of the early stages of the relationship for Eddie to realize JUST how bottomless his love is for Buck and totally Mr. Darcy at Buck;

It makes sense that that Eddie was bad at communication - he loved Shannon, she was pregnant and he literally put himself in harms way to provide for her but didn’t discuss it with her. That’s… what Ramon did. Also did he maybe run away a bit too? Yes! That’s Shannon’s narrative FOR Eddie bit both could have a grain of truth.

But I think it would be so in character but also hilarious for Buck and Eddie to be in early dating stage when like a switch goes off in Eddie brain and he jumps off into super protective and nesting mode - to Bucks clear surprise. Into it at first maybe but imagine how huuuuge Oli is and having Eddie being there as the big man protecting and tacking care of him (literally trying to sweep him off his feet and them both falling to the floor.

Does anyone else see this vision???

S8 Ep6 || S3 Ep4 - LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

I fear no one is going to get this because it is a hungarian book we had to read in... I don't even know what grade. 3rd or 4th, maybe? It's called "A Pál utcai fiúk" ("The boys of Pál Street", written 1906), and it's about a group of kids who find a big, abandoned... field? I think? in the city of Budapest, on Pál street, and make it their own, and turn it into their HQ. They become friends, or more accurately, form a club, and have strict rules to follow. If I remember correctly, (I literally haven't read this book in seven years) there is also a rival club of boys, who they are trying to sabotage. I cannot for the life of me remember the plot, but I do know there was this one kid, young and scrawny and small, who was constantly trying to prove himself. Some things happened, which led the boys to believe he betrayed them, and was a traitor - not true, of course - and as punishment, they wrote his name into their rulebook with lowercase latters, the lowest and most humiliating thing a member of the club could be punished with, and they kicked him out. (Ah yeas, I remember, his name was Nemecsek I think!)

Meanwhile, however, in an earlier adventure, Nemecsek fell into a cold lake on a winter night, already a bit down with the cold. After he was kicked out, the boys ignore him completely, and shun their friend out - so they don't realise in time that the illness got serious. Nemecsek got pneumonia, i think, which at the time was incredibly dangerous, especially for a frail little boy like him.

Needless to say, he dies, with none of his friends there, his mother bawling on his chest, still believing his only friends hate him. When the boys hear about this, they are shook, of course, and immidiately forgive him and feel completely fucking horrible, but it's too little too late. They honor him by not only rewrite his name with the correct -capital letters, but by writing it in ALL capital letters.

I bawled my eyes out. I was such a little kid at the time, and i loved reading and getting invested in stories, and this fucking broke me. I finished the book at like 1 am one evening, which at the time was very late for little me, and my brother heard me literally sobbing and had to comfort me. First encounter with MCD. I didn't even think it was real. I just kept reading, because I was like "what do you mean? Books ALWAYS have a good ending please this has to be a joke - " it was not. Fucking. Broke me.

fuck it, i'm curious. reblog and tag with the first fictional death to ever rewrite your brain chemistry and/or make you cry like a baby. mine was ares from the underland chronicles (who, for context, was a giant bat.) to this day i will weep if i think too hard about it. okay, go.

just a reminder, but this is what eddie would have looked like around the time ramon told him he had to be the man of the house

this is what eddie would have looked like when he found out he was going to be a father and made the decision to go fight in a war rather than being able to live out his youth

this is who ramon and helena based their opinions of his ability to be a good father on, and still judge him as if he’s still 20 years old and terrified of having to be a father and husband when he hadn’t even gotten a chance to live yet

does everyone remember that one scene where there's an argument about good cop/bad cop parenting and buck and eddie are just sort of standing off to the side. and when someone is like "can't you just both be the good cop" to the parents who were arguing, buck and eddie are (in unison) like Noooo and everyone literally stops saving some guy's life to turn and stare at them. and they don't appear to realize they've said anything strange. okay. so i am rotating that in my mind and i am thinking about how easy it is to assume that buck would be the Good Cop parent in chris's life because it would be easier for him to be the fun dad especially at first when he doesn't have as much of an established role yet. and this is largely true (ie that time eddie has to give buck the You'd Better Back Me Up look when chris is grounded from playing video games or whatever; and btw the implications of that in the sense of like....... eddie expecting buck to back him up. and the idea of buck being empowered to Not back him up if he wanted to. and chris instinctively knowing this enough to do the "one parent said no so i'm going to ask the other parent" thing that kids do. anyway.) Anyway. i think it is largely true that buck is the fun dad but i also think he is sometimes the serious dad. like he is the one who half the time has the Big Talks with chris when something is going on in their family. and also he is definitely the one who made chris eat his vegetables when he was a kid. because eddie is much quicker to say okay :) let's order pizza. when he doesn't feel like cooking. and buck gives him a Look and eddie is like UGH fine. we'll order a salad with the pizza and chris you'll eat some of it. or else. and then proceed to not actually make him eat it. idk. they're a family. yay.
