Me fighting the urge to post homestuck on my non homestuck blogs:
obviously most things on Alternia are designed in a particularly slimy, chitinous way that gives them a uniformly alien (is that oxymoronic?) look, but I’m wondering if it’s more than a little conspicuous that a troll’s recuperacoon is basically identical to their computer.
I’ve broken down the basics of Alternian computing before, but the fact that the pus used in their insectoid computers seems to be the same stuff they sleep in has never been able to properly explain itself. the official line is that “the relaxing ooze helps assuage the terrible visions of blood and carnage that plague the dark subconscious of [trollkind]”; but considering Alternia’s governing class seem to have a vested interest in giving their subjects nightmares, we have to assume there is some misdirection happening here.
what has freshly occurred to me is that Jade, ostensibly the human with the most troll-like lifestyle, has a computerised bed of her own… and indeed one intended to monitor and affect the way she dreams.
it was already in the back of my mind years ago, writing what probably turned out to be my first ever proper Homestuck analysis, that there were insidious undertones to the fact that Alternia’s green slime of patriarchy seeps into every crack, right down to the beds the empire’s children sleep in. in Dave’s words, “your grandpa was a sick fuck why would he build a voyeurbot for a little girl”: it probably goes without saying that the subjugglators are kind of sick fucks for building voyeur puppets for little children too! the puppet as a voyeurbot is a well established tool in Dave’s own guardian’s repertoire (…I’m just now realising Dave is secretly relating to Jade with that line), and it says a lot that Dirk’s ultimate voyeurbot (slash fondlebot) took on a form almost identical to that of Jade’s (with Equius even trying a little bit of lowblood-puppeting of his own using another robot of the same type).
it must also be remembered that sopor slime is drugs, drugs is candy, and candy only serves to hide the grisly truth from the partaker. perhaps rather than “assuaging” the horrors of the troll’s dark subconscious, being hooked up to the slime merely masks the true nature of what has been placed there…
this brings to mind Karkat’s strange moment of seemingly unfounded paranoia about the Viewer, accompanied, in fact, by his own spontaneous voyeuristic fantasies about a certain little girl. the takeaway here is of course that the darkness lurking in the troll subconscious is none other than the Viewer, which is obviously true; all trollkind are merely the pawns of Lord English, the ultimate Reader-Author of their reality. but possibly also implicit is that if the Viewer lurks in the subconscious of every troll, then every troll is, themselves, deep down, a Viewer. which is also literally true! as the trolls watching the humans’ game unfold from their meteor laboratory act as yet another of the comic’s many audience stand-ins.
or in Persona Alchemy terms… just as the author of Homestuck imbued every character with an aspect of himself, every single troll in Lord English’s domain contains a little bit of ‘Lord English-ness’. in essence making them their own voyeurs, in the same way Jade is both the voyeurbot and the little girl?

When I'm supre upset and crying like rn I like to pretend I'm better and look through pinterest images that are like daily affirmations but litterally aren't true about me and pretend they are true for a few minutes.
Does it get me to stop crying? Not really, but it makes me feel not as bad for crying.
Which is prolly stupid but I don't care rn.

I cannot understand people who act like Vriska did nothing wrong because of course she did stuff wrong! She is girlfailure who thinks she is a girlboss and tries to manipulate everyone into giving her the spotlight so she can prove herself. Her being full of herself and doing bad shit that IS wrong is what made her enjoyable!
On that note I can't wait to get the Vriska plushie so I can slam her through a 8asket8all hoop.

Roxy Lalonde being a transman is 100% valid and canon and not enough people talk about it.
In the meat timeline jasprose talked to Jane and convinced her not to be the president and took her and Jane to the ship with Dave karkat roxy calliope and Kanaya before Vriska took the omega kids came, basically leaving earth C in the candy timeline to die out in its lack of canonicity.
In the meat timeline June's house never got destroyed because there was no war. Those letters were probably things from roxy and rose?? That part I'm not 100% sure on.
I sometimes forget roxy and June weren't married in the Canon timeline ,,,,
I'm p sure jasprose is just there to point to the side/bonus comic where meat timeline Jane is convinced not to be an evil dictator president.

I just saw a take from a certain account that Hussie had to have been joking about liking June Egbert because "Hussie liked to troll everyone and lived on the old internet where edgy jokes happened all the time so he would NEVER make June happen unless its a joke."
For one people change, just cause someone used to be edgy and shit doesn't mean they can't change all. Secondly, this is fucking homestuck we are talking about, a piece of media where queer topics are broached extremely often and perdonally I don't see someone who would "NEVER" do June being this fucking queer. Finally several people in contact with her have said it was one of the only headcanons that made them excited.
Yes Hussie can be an asshole but no that isn't the only thing they are. They wrote a fantastic, emotionally fulfilling story and prople who write off certain analysis of the series just because "oh Hussie didn't take it that seriously" is just stupid, especially when there are many part of the series they did write with sincerity.

Just because I don't mention something doesn't mean I don't know what it is,,, (refering to egg culture) and there's nothing in homestuck that shows the characters excommunication people for not being any certain gender or forcing people to be a gender. No characters are forcing any labels on june.
And I'm sorry anon went through that, they deserve sm better. I myself am agender. I get how hard it is with people not respecting your labels and pronouns. I genuinely hope they find people who accept them and if they have already found those people then I'm glad

If this is about viewing June as nonbinary then you're free to your interpretation. June is a trans character. Nonbinary is still under that transgender umbrella, even if it's not necessarily mtf or ftm

And before you go jumping down people's throats, I am very nonbinary, very pansexual, and very panromantic. I'm also biologically a dude. I have had times where I've wanted to go around wearing a dress. I have had times where I couldn't decide if I wanted a gown or tux when I got married until I watched Steven Universe and got my answer from Garnet. I don't force GNC people to take on my truth because they're not nonbinary! And I sure as fuck don't let trans people say that I'm a hardline MTF instead of nonbinary, because I know that's not right for me. It doesn't stop the fact that I had an entire friend group chanting "break the egg" every time I said or did something feminine over chat. I thought I was a woman for three whole years because of that and I hated it, I hated how miserable I felt the further I went into femininity. I got so fucking sick of it that I left. I've got three partners now who all respect me for who I am, and their friends are equally chill with me. So yes, people CAN try to force people into being trans.

I hate @/davekat-sucks. Like, they're all open to their oppinions and good for them or whatever when it comes to that.
But they're trying to put social rules and laws on a fictional world that go off of completely different rules.
When it comes to the incest jokes and pedophile stuff, I can see why they're upset. I usually don't mind that kinda stuff but the creators of hs:bc kinda shoved it in there in a weird way and it felt icky.
But like every post feels like a weird circle jerk between them and the anons in their ask box.
They say "roxy is a pedophile, because Caliope is emotionally stunted." And everyone in their asks acts like was they say is scripture. (I am slightly overexagerating but you get my point)
Caliope and Roxy aren't even dating. They don't even have feeling for eachother. Calliope quite litterally can't, and in Homestuck Roxy learned about that and was okay with it. Calliope isn't even a child btw. Her cheeks aren't filled in because Caliborn never died. That doesn't mean she's a child emotionally or whatever. She grew up just like Roxy and the others did. The ring making it so she doesn't age does make sense but I don't think it can really be used to say Roxy is a pedophile, seeing they don't like eachother like that.
June did say that she emotionally cheated on him, but he was locked in his house for God knows how long without talking to either of them. He doesn't know shit about what's going on between them.
As for June being a pedophile,,,, I can't defend that one. I dunno why the authors made that decision,,,, bleh.
I don't even understand why davekat-sucks even cares that much anyways, since they've made posts about ships that are incestuous or pedophilic several times!!!

As for the classpect,
You can absolutely be a girl in a male dominant class. Think of it kinda like how most babysitters are girls, but there obviously are still guys who are also babysitters. (Not the best analogy, but idk how else to explain that.) When it comes to classpecting it really is just taking what little we get in Canon and guesstimating from there.
As for you being a sylph of heart specifically, I think that heart still doesn't feel accurate. At least not paired with sylph. But obv how you veiw yourself and your classpect is always gonna be wayyy more accurate than what either any tests or what I may say. I really recommend you check out the classpecting brochure and go from there ^^ (I can send you a link to it if you want, but the website it's on has had a lot of ads and has been pretty obnoxious to use lately)
