yes, yes they did.
But i feel like that never stopped them from communicating with eachother after that rather than the ESA.
The comet does get exposure to the sun from time to time, and i’d assume that they would recharge during that.
“But crashing would demolish their systems!!”

i feel like Philae would feel bad about not executing the landing correctly, but in truth, it’s not their fault. So Rosetta would remind Philae about this when they bring it up.

Their contact with the other satellites and probes is probably pretty strong considering their proximity to the solar system compared to the Voyagers or Pioneers.
But for Philae, i’m not quite sure since they are wedged in the rocks and stuck in the shadow of a cliff. That may be an issue when recharging so i’m sure they are careful when sending messages to conserve their battery.
im unsure of what kind of entertainment they’d watch, but i feel like they would tune into anything really.
but the commentary from the both of them would be superb i can just tell

I have found an artist a few months ago that said 17776 was an inspiration for his music. I especially see it in his Rookie album.

Oooffff I'll try to keep this short - as I AM one to ramble.
17776 has a special place in my heart. I love the aspects it focuses on and the different plots we have going on as you read. So many wonder "why football?" Well, Jon Bois is a sports writer, so of course he would write an express his thoughts through something he is familiar with. Sure, you could see it as a funny space football web comic, but there is SO MUCH more to be explored within it.
Now, if you told me if my generation would be the last on this earth, everyone is immortal, and the sun would never explode, I would essentially freak out. To combat that, having something that provides a distraction for an eternity - in this case, football- would be sufficient. You forget that feeling of dread and worry because you're occupied.
You could do the most insane shit you wanted because you have nothing to lose. Setting up the most extreme games with outrageous rules is just part of the fun.
I love how people keep the world pretty much the same. No advancements, nothing like that. Maybe it's a fear of change? But anyways- it's kinda like a comfort, knowing that things stay familiar forever, you don't have to change a thing.
People can achieve whatever goals they want. Go back to school, get a thousand college degrees, learn all the languages, knit the longest scarf, anything- because there is always time. You don't have any limitations.
One concept I'd love to see more of are the nanos. They just seem interesting to me, but they are kinda just briefed over. Same with animals, too. I know Jon touched upon this in a QnA, but I'd love to know more.
To wrap this up, there's just no words to truly explain how invested I am in this series, and I'm glad you asked this question!!

WAITT no because that would be interesting. Imagine seeing a football just getting chucked into the air but you have NO CLUE where it's headed because the corn stalks are too long. Trying to locate your teammates would be such a pain in the ass.

So, maybe instead of throwing it, they sneak it to each other? Having a good sense of direction would probably be relevant so you know where the End Zones are.
got a new 17776-esque football game idea. average football game, but it's all played in a cornfield, but a maze could be involved if you want to get crazy with it. to make it even worse a part of the rules is that you CANNOT destroy or uproot any of the corn under any circumstances or else you'll immediately be out of the game, but you are allowed to eat any fully grown corn at any given time. the entire game field is the cornfield, and if you leave it you'll immediately be considered out-of-bounds. you're allowed to hide the ball in the corn stalks if you think that'll work. scarecrows are also there, not for anything helpful but just to throw players off cause i think that'd be pretty funny, watching someone fumble over a guy made of straw. possibly one of the most rage-inducing game ideas, or the funniest. just imagine the probes watching a bunch of players bumble around a field with extremely thick plants trying to get their way through the field through the maze or by brute force.

Every year Since like 2022 I reread 17776 and I havent yet this year and for a few months it was just cause I wanted to be patient (I think last year or the year before I read it in like January) but I started again in March and my master plan was to read it in my downtime in school but then our school got destroyed by a tornado and I just kinda stopped and I find that funny
