Captain America & Superman

You know how when Marvel is compared to DC people say that Captain America and Superman are synonymous? Or Iron Man and Batman are? I would like to propose that we switch those. I don't think Captain America and Superman are good comparisons.

Argument number 1 : Captain America is a team player, Superman is not. One of Superman character flaws, something he has to overcome, is that he thinks he can or should protect the world alone. He can lift it alone, and so he should. He struggles with control because when things are outside of his control he feels responsible when they go wrong. He feels he should be able to protect everything, because he has the power, but as only one man he often fails in the scope of it. He may be able to solve every problem, but he can't see every problem. One of the first thing any adaption of the Justice League origin story has to overcome is Superman trying to fight the bad guy alone. Captain America is the literal opposite of that. He is the most team player team player, and when he can take a mission with a team he does. He doesn't shy away or panic at not being able to control every problem or fix every problem, he acts calmly under pressure. He works on teams.

Argument number 2 : Superman is the team leader, Captain America is not. Superman, at least later on in stories (And I don't mean like later editions, but just later on in the stories, like after justice league formations), is genuinely the leader of the Justice League. He calls people together, he addresses issues. Batman is nominally the leader as well, as in he calls attention to problems and offers solutions, but it's Superman who often makes the final calls. Captain American can not be said to often make the final call. He can call orders in combat, and maybe lead missions, but it's either Shield or his fellow Avengers who call missions. In fact, most of the Avengers can be the leader at different times, depending on the situation. Captain American and Iron Man are the leaders of the Avengers in equal measure.

Argument number 3 : Superman's No-kill rule, and Captain America's willingness to kill. I think this relates to Superman's feelings that only Superman can keep Superman in check. And he's not wrong, which means if Superman doesn't have hard morals, then he doesn't get to be Superman. Captain America doesn't have those issues. Captain America was taught combat in war, and made his morals there too. He has mercy, don't forget that, but he also doesn't see killing as the be all end all of morality.

Counter Argument number 1 : Both Superman and Captain America deal with the narrative question of "Are they necessary?" And the conclusion is that they aren't. Superman can retire, so can Captain America. They aren't necessary for the world to go on. But they have inspired people who often carry on their legacy. Superman has inspired plenty of the Justice League to be better heroes, and plenty of Super-boys who came after. Captain America also inspired heroes, and plenty of people who try to take up the mantel after he's gone. And their success depend on how much they understand themselves and what they stand for, and overcome who Superman and Captain America were.

Counter Argument number 2 : Clark Kent and Steve Rogers are very similar. Both are small town guys who view themselves as Clark Kent and Steve Rogers first, and Superman and Captain America second. I think their civilian identities are good comparisons.

Secondary Arguments 1 : I think Iron Man and Superman have more similar narratives. Both have these sense that their skills and powers are dangerous and they need to be their own moral compass. Both are scared of their own powers in a way. Stark is scared of his tech being misused and also running from his weapons dealer past. I've already explained Superman's fear. I know that Iron Man isn't exactly no-kill but he's one of the guys who I could see having that rule.

Secondary Arguments 2 : I think Batman and Captain America have similar fighting styles and approaches to missions. I don't think they'd agree or have similar narratives but I think they'd fight side by side well.

Closing thoughts : I love all four of these characters and I think all have incredibly intricate and interesting narratives, and so I think comparing them also leads to interesting discussions. Ultimately I think that their worlds are different to find exact comparisons, but it's still a fun draw to make. What are your thoughts?

Speaking of AI in fandoms, I'd love to bring AI Fanfiction to the discussion. Because that's been eye opening. (I'm also too stupid at art to really understand how much work goes into one image.) It's serious theft, it's a robot puking back up what it's seen before and you can feel it in the writing it makes. It claims in the narration that the characters are feeling things and learning when that isn't what's happening. Nothing real is going on. And you can feel it in Every. Single. Sentence. It's honestly horrible, and I've been against it since its creation. But recently I noticed something absolutely insane and disheartening.

I'm a senior in highschool (17, going on 18), and all of the new sophomores are using AI. All of them. These 15 year olds are openly talking about their use of AI fanfic and AI fanart. And listening to them rattle on and on about how cool it is to have a way to bring these things to life via AI made me realize something. These kids aren't trying to be thieves. It's not that they lack morals, or are lazy. They haven't thought about the full implications of it, sure, but there's an underlying issue here.

They're using AI because they don't think they can make anything worthwhile themselves. And that makes my blood boil.

Something about AI is making these kids think that the only way to enjoy fan content the way they picture it in their head is to have something more "qualified" to do it. AI is telling these kids that they suck at art. That they suck at writing. And that there's nothing they can do about it. And they're just young enough to accept that.

And y'know what? They probably do suck. But that's a good thing! The best thing about fandom is the way it uses people's passion for their favorite things and turns it into skill.

We all sucked at what we do when we were younger. I sucked at grammar when I started writing. My concepts were killer but my execution was just abysmal. But my love for the original content fueled me to keep going. To keep trying and I'd say that now my writing is pretty darn good. I see such talented people draw wonderful things because fandom made them practice. Fandom constantly brings out the best in people. We're really good at these things now. We don't need a dumb robot to do it worse.

But fandom has changed. Now there's an easy way to create something without becoming a creator. These insecure kids are entering fandoms with that concept in mind. And when they see that they suck, they hit that ever present roadblock of worrying you won't get better. But now they have an out. While we all had to figure out how to get over said roadblock, they just pressed the skip button, because it was there. They skipped the most important thing you could possibly learn in life, because some a-hole made a skip button.

It's like they're sequence breaking life, missed a power up, and feel like the only way to succeed is to keep using the cheat code that got them stuck in the first place.

These poor kids, man. AI isn't just the death of creativity, it's the death of ambition, and self-esteem. These kids aren't the problem, they're the victims. Victims of this toxic mindset that AI put into their heads.

I'm starting to see AI art in fanart tags and even when they are tagged as AI art, people in the reblogs tagged it as fanart.

Let me just say this once. I don't believe AI art is fanart. The way things are, it's theft. It doesn't count. The effort that fan artists put into their works cannot be equated in value with whatever an AI generates. The works with hours of applied skill and originality and love put into them are the works I want to praise on this blog.

So that being said, if I ever reblog "fanart" that is ai generated, please send me a message or an ask and let me know so I can delete it off my blog.

Story idea: Two dudes that have lived together their entire lives but one doesn't know the other exists.

Hear me out. Guy 1 is super chaotic. You know, forgetful, messy, gets distracted quickly (I think I just accidentally described ADHD). But through some cool coincidences or maybe just his forgetful brain, whenever he forgets his jacket and it starts raining, it suddenly pops up on his shoulders. His house is tidy when he gets home, so he assumes he must've tidied it up and forgotten. Sometimes those coincidences are a real lifesaver. Sometimes he's walking over the street and misses a car that's driving right towards him, and suddenly he's yanked back because his jacket got stuck on a tree branch or something.

Guy 2 is the guy who grabbed his jacket. He's been there for a really long time. Maybe they're twins, or maybe roommates.

Whenever Guy 2 steps into Guy 1's field of vision, Guy 1 turns, or something suddenly blocks it. Occasionally through some crazy twist of fate, like that one time a tree fell between them.

Whenever Guy 2 tries to talk to Guy 1 or even just makes a noise of any type, it's either covered by a different noise or Guy 1 just doesn't hear it because he's zoned out.

In the beginning, Guy 2 tried leaving notes for Guy 1, but they were always blown away by the wind, or someone accidentally poured juice over one.

Guy 2 has tried everything. He's tried asking others to tell Guy 1 he exists, but as usual, it was impossible for them to tell him about it. Sometimes they just forgot, sometimes they got spontaneously arrested or worse. He's tried messaging Guy 1 online, but the messages either didn't get delivered or got banned for some weird reason.

Only a few people online know about Guy 2's predicament. He vented about it on social media. The post is accessible to anyone, but he knows that Guy 1 will never see it because the algorithms just won't bring it to him, and even if he does, why would he think it's about him?

Very weird dream I had.

Very Weird Dream I Had.

Dreamt of being a doctor studying parasites that snuck into the uterus of sleeping women and did no harm unless the woman was very stressed, drugged or unconscious, which was when they would grow sharp teeth on the side that wasn't touching the woman and bite anything that came near them.

So, basically, anti-rape monsters.

Me and my friends have been saying how much we want to know more about splatbands and the inkpedia has barely anything other than what they play and what they look like. It's so frustrating. There are so many things that I would love to learn about in the everyday life of these inklish man.

I heard about how in Bancala Walker there was a short story about Marina and Acht and their time in the domes. And I'm gonna be 100% honest with you. It kinda makes me mad, and it really highlights a massive problem with Splatoon as a whole, and that's how it treats its stories.

I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The

(Yep I'm rambling about Splatoon's storytelling for the 500th time, welcome to my blog.)

Since Splatoon 2, the series has had a weird relationship with its storytelling, the main stories of each campaign are very simplistic and are very video game like plots. "Go get the Great Zapfish back and save Captain Cuttlefish. Go get the Great Zapfish again and find Callie. Find the thangs and get out. GO GET THE ZAPFISH AGAIN AND SAVE CAPTAIN CUTTLEFISH AGAIN!!! Climb up the tower." Splatoon 1 got away with this because it's clearly the most "tutorial" mode out of any of the single player campaigns and it doesn't really try to say any deeper messages or express a character arc.

Now, obviously video game stories must have goals for the player to work towards, I'm not complaining about that, you gotta have that stuff in games to motivate the player, however, what really drives me up a wall is when they decide to add depth and interesting things relating to the characters and world, yet they intentionally throw away that same depth and chuck it to the side. Hell they sometimes retcon the optional hard to find lore or make it more confusing just because!! If you're gonna add depth and something else to these stories, you HAVE to actually explore it and expand upon it WITHIN THE STORY! You cannot add it as "extra lore" when it's stuff that should have been in the main storyline to begin with. It's like not adding seasoning to chicken and that you boiled the fucking chicken and wrapped it in lettuce and mayonnaise.

I could obviously talk about the elephant in the room... you know... this little goober right here. This freak.

I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The

And I'm going to.

From the concept art we were given, we know that Callie was originally gonna have more exploration into her troubling mental health issues as seen by her being in the shadows and being comforted by Octarians. It's a significantly different tone compared to the final product.

I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The
I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The

However in the final game, they tossed MOST of this shit away and say in the game as well as in official media, "naw she was kidnapped and brainwashed forcefully because she's a dumb clutz lmao." They tried to backtrack with an obscure relationship chart, the sunken scrolls and Squid Sisters web prequel series, but then they backtracked AGAIN with the Splatoon 3 artbook that states that she was "brainwashed." It's an incredibly simplified and frankly insulting version of events that are TECHNICALLY canon but Nintendo and others don't treat it as such and i don't know why. I dont know why they treat Callie like this. Is it because she's silly?

Wouldn't it be more interesting and more powerful as a story if they made Callie had more control and awareness of her actions? That she was truly acting upon her mental illness and isolation? Putting DJ Octavio, the fucking funny octopus guy on the same level as Talon from Overwatch and Hydra from Marvel, the literal nazis who damaged Bucky Barnes' brain and removed all of his memories, making him into the Winter Solider, is fucking psychotic and actually insane of Nintendo to do.

There is also Acht and how they were shown between Octo Expansion and Side Order.

Some of the most powerful stories in media have strong character arcs and characters overcoming their struggles and pain. It is inspirating and incredibly real to see a loved one reach out to a person that they care about who have lost their way, either from mental illness or drugs. Trying to bring them back and help them go through their pain together. When someone is under distress and mental health troubles, they can act like a completely different person and the fact that Nintendo half assed serious topics like this and made shit WAY WORSE boils my blood to no end.

I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The

In Octo Expansion, we were told that they went under Sanitization willingly in order to remove doubts in their mind and put their all into music. Now due to the unknowns of Sanitization at the time, this made for a really interesting character and brought up a lot of interesting questions as to why they would do this and who they are.

However, in Side Order when they explained Sanitization further and told us that Acht lost all of their free will and were FORCED to make music for Tartar, it kinda damaged their story a little bit. Like sure, Acht still probably wanted to go under Sanitization to clear their doubts and remove emotion, but the added information kinda goes against the interesting story they were trying to tell with Acht. Acht doesn't even mention why they went under Sanitization in Side Order and their reasoning is only found IN A SOCIAL MEDIA POST BACK IN 2018!!! THEY DON'T RESTATE IT AT ALL WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPORTANT TO DO SO! They kinda tell us via their letters, but guess when you get those, IN THE POST GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This leads me to another big talking point, most of the lore is hidden and hard to find. You have to go out of your way to find most of the shit Splatoon has to offer. Sunken Scrolls are hidden collectables and most people don't wanna go through the effort of finding them all in the stages, the chat logs in Octo Expansion are completely optional due to entries being tied to specific stations and you can choose to easily skip them, the dev diaries are locked behind lockers and some people may complete Side Order in a manner where they can get to the final boss and be done with the main campaign before seeing most of the entries. Now I'm not saying that there cannot be extra lore tidbits for players to find, hell no, i love extra stuff like that, i think Splatoon 1 and 3's hero modes did a really job of that. BUT WHEN YOU HIDE AWAY IMPORTANT DETAILS LIKE CALLIE'S MOTIVATION IN SPLATOON 2 AND MARINA'S AND PEARL'S BACKSTORIES!?!? YEAH I GOT A FUCKING PROBLEM RIGHT THERE!

I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The
I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The
I Heard About How In Bancala Walker There Was A Short Story About Marina And Acht And Their Time In The

In other games, these would be cutscenes or a bunch of mandatory dialogue, BUT NOPE! THEY ARE IN HARD TO FIND SPOTS!

Some of the other lore details are found on social media posts and some of them are YEARS old or on Splatoon's dead Tumblr account. Most people would rather go to Inkipedia and even they can sometimes make vital mistakes or have wording that gives people the wrong idea on what happened in particular events, which heavily impacts the community and discussion. When i talk about my perspective on what happened to Callie in Splatoon 2, I've seen people say to me "wait really? Huh?! I didn't know that." The amount of research you gotta do to go into these characters is an absolute nightmare, AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE SPLATBANDS!!! Their lore is literally locked behind Japanese exclusive expensive artbooks!!! WHY?!?!

I really do wanna stress again, is it cool to get cool lore outside of the games and as collectables?! ABSOLUTELY! You know how awesome it was to read the Alterna logs for the first time? The smile on my face seeing Pearl and Marina back in the Final Fest in Side Order. But when the main stories suffer because of important information being tossed to the side and not applied to the main games... I dont know man, it just becomes incredibly frustrating to me personally. Especially with all the misconceptions and other things that occur within the community, the fandom has an information problem and honestly, it's Nintendo's fault. Imagine if Side Order had flashbacks to a younger Marina and Acht, it would have helped with the middle chunk of the story being so... nothing.

Ok, so just imagine. Batmans' not a human, but he doesn't know, ok, wait, hear me out. So, this came from every time I saw an ambigious and cryptid blob batman. I was thinking, wouldn't it be funny if batman. Instead of being human and being mistook for a crytid, what if he was actually a crytid. Just a thought I had. You can interpret this anyway you want. I don't actually have any idea what the specifics would be.

blaire is peak and why rusty can't write truly evil women

If you've found this post, I don't need to introduce Leasebound to you.

Instead, we're going to talk about the fandom.

Leasebound's fandom has a sort of Lemony-Snicket-esque schism, with Rusty's intended audience and (hilariously) the exact opposite. I've seen both sides of the Leasebound audience, and I've noticed something interesting.

...nobody hates Blaire.

Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women

Okay, that's a HELL of a sentence to make, and very exaggerated. I've seen 'Blaire unenjoyers' and other people treating Blaire like the Eric Cartman of Leasebound, it's an eye-catching statement that makes people read more of the text post.

But I wouldn't call it wrong, I'd give it a 'hyperbolic.'

Even on the side of Rusty's intended audience, Blaire isn't loathed. I've seen many enjoyers of Blaire who either talk about how much they went her to talk gender to them, so to say. On the flipside, the worst interpretation of Blaire is a misogynist who pushes her activism on other people, which is more or less her canon intent.

But if Blaire was as bad as Rusty Hearts portrayed her, I don't think we'd see so much art of Blaire. In fact, I put down a poll, and Blaire pretty much took the #1 spot for the 'character with the most fanart' almost instantly, beating out characters such as Jaden (who took silver), Riley, and Violet. And it pretty much sticks!

I've seen a lot of Blaire fanart from the Leasebound tag on both sides! I've seen a lot of Blaire discussion and discourse on both sides, either about the possibility of a redemption arc, a rewrite, thirsting over her, etc.

So...we can pretty much say Blaire is a bad strawman.

Strawmen are supposed to be one-note characters the main cast is supposed to be more interesting than and can fight with no pushback. Blaire is massively popular across the board in the Leasebound fandom, has discussions about her that are multi-layered, and has wonderful fanart from people that really like her.

Done. That's all.

But we're not done. We need to keep talking.

Rusty Leasebound is very good at some things. Her chapter focusing on Shez had emotional, gut-wrenching art, and there is a definite appealing quality to the way she draws things.

Some things, atleast.

But Rusty is not a great writer. There's tons of other essays and an entire discord server that can point all the flaws in her story out enough to write an epic worthy of the Mahabharata. Leasebound has largely forgotten what it is to be a mouthpiece for her political opinions, its characters are one-note and one-dimensional, she focuses on the wrong things at the wrong time, and many more that will make my fingers cry as I type this. But I want to focus of Rusty's tendencies to tell, not show.

Blaire is not evil. She's not even Maleficent or Ursula or Cruella evil. And she's no Makima either. Blaire is just a woman passionate about her beliefs, and makes the mistake of pushing them on other people. That's not evil, that's a flaw. Women cannot be perfect all the time.

But we're meant to believe she is evil. In this panel of the Actor!AU, we are TOLD by Rusty that Blaire is meant to be evil.

Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women

Blaire isn't evil! Come back to me when she puts a living creature in a blender, or something!

While the statement is understandable, you're using it in the wrong way! Because there is no reason for the casual Leasebound reader to ever believe Blaire is evil, the way you portray her!

(Yes, casual Leasebound readers exist. Quinty's one.)

And there's multiple occasions of this 'tell, don't show' narrative Rusty keeps pushing.

For example: Meriam.

Meriam is told to be the protective, strong mother, but I'm not sure that's entirely the case.

Meriam has serious flaws in her parenting that is never acknowledged. Shez was made to basically worry for her siblings at a young age, which sounds horrible for a young girl.

(side note: criticism of the comic has often lead to more interesting, and realistic plotlines for leasebound to include.)

She's obviously traumatised, and it shows in her parenting. When she shuns out Rissa and her boyfriend; that's not good! If Rissa wants her family by her side, she won't get it because she's marrying a man. Meriam always keeps Shez on the pedestal like she's Luisa from Encanto.

Nobody asks how's Shez. Someone help Shez.

And there's so much more!

We get snippets of Riley, a MAIN CHARACTER'S backstory from one-off panels and dialouges, but we heard the majority of it from Rusty in the comment section, Rusty confirming fan speculation, the cast page, non-canon panels, etc. Nothing in the main story!

And that just makes Riley...really boring. The most interesting part of Riley is Blaire right now, and that's REALLY bad, considering we're supposed to dislike Blaire.

Here are some more examples of Rusty telling, not showing:

Muddles:

Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women

Riley:

Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women
Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women

Various statuses of offscreen characters:

Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women
Blaire Is Peak And Why Rusty Can't Write Truly Evil Women

Blaire and many others of Rusty's characters have fallen into one of her biggest writing flaws' clutches, but it's interesting as to how fan perception and works have essentially made one of the most three-dimensional characters of the comic, aside from Jaden. And that's one of the main problems with Leasebound.

I want to end this with an open letter. I don't know if she'll read it, but if you do:

Listen to criticism, and find out what's wrong with your comic. Tune in to different parts of the fandom, even when you don't agree with them. At the heart of the war, we all share one thing: reading your comic. Don't take that for granted; many amazing, better written comics would love to have the attention you have. Your art is good. I enjoy reading Leasebound when it's about the characters, not how we're supposed to percieve them. You have something; harness it before it goes away! And at the rate Leasebound is going- it might go away really fast.

Thank you for reading. I don't have anything else to say.

...

Hey, remember when a radfem accidentally reblogged a post by a non-radfem-

Okay one funny thing I think about often is way back when.

When I was first getting into WH40K, the one "friend" who was trying to get me into it kept saying how "complicated the lore was" and "there's still alot we don't know"

So I got excited and dove in, and well, I won't say he was wrong, but.... I was a fnaf fan since the beginning of that franchise, and it's not even close.

Like, sure, I'm not arguing that 40k isn't complicated, but I think a more apt term would be it's very layered.

But FNAF level? Bitch please.

Cause the thing with 40k is sure there have been retcons and like some mystery. And if I had met this guy and i was getting into it way back in like 3rd/4th edition, sure. But I started getting into 40k around mid to late 9th edition(i think april 22 ish). When most of the story had been solidified.

But where 40k only gets more and more concise if not a little to much explanation. FNAF has and is currently only gotten worse at knowing the true story.

40k retcons were to clear up some older misconceptions/introduce new story routes but FNAF? Nope! Each rectcon somehow both validated and invalidated the previous loose ends.

But an even more glaring issue. The expansion into their other mediums.

40k is (for the most part) consistent across its books, games, tabletop, and movie/TV series

FNAF is completely different based on what medium you choose to consume. The games? Muddled lore, you spend hours picking out of the background audio while Freddy and friends try to eat u. And sometimes (not so much anymore), but u used to have to dig into the official Scott games website code to know context for certain things happening in/between the games.

The books? (Which ones?) The og trilogy followed a completely different protagonist and story(still good mind you total recommend) or the Fazbear Frights book series where it's more akin to "tales from the crypt" or a FNAF Goosebumps spin off. With some loose through lines. (Tales at the pizzaplex is included in this description)

The movie? Fuck you. completely rewrites the dynamic between the protagonist whose supposed to be the antagonists son and says fuck you to alot of the og compelling lore.( I still loved the movie don't get me wrong, the practical effects: lovely, the casting: perfect, the cinematography: very tight and well done. The story: dog shit)

I think the fundamental difference between the two franchises (besides age) is the creator(s) intent on making them.

On one hand you have one that's money grubbing and has a love hate relationship with their fanbase and the other is Scott Fucking Cawtthon. (And in light of not so recent events, fuck Scott)

I respect @noose-lion but what if it is organic material (at least for how the anime does it) since picking the Steinbeck example the guy was at least wearing denim which is cotton.

By the way, wasn’t there something about a cloth in Fifteen? (I didn’t actually get to read the light novel)

More crackish bs over here, but if it’s organic material what are the limitations: organic as in naturally derived, or organic as in chemically speaking?

If no longer human only works with skin on skin contact then won't a condom negate the nullification?

Hey, please tell me your thoughts on Dinosquad, I want to hear them so much.

I love/reluctantly watch it

So many inaccuracies. The autism episode was a one off, they should've had more disability representation. I think it would've been cool if ms Moynihan was an amputee. If she and veloci have been around for that long, one of them is bound to have lost a limb at some point, and I don't want it to be Victor, disabled villain trope and all. (If they rewrite and make her an amputee) They should also consult an amputee when writing ms Moynihan. She should also have a bunch of trauma of we're assuming that she lived through both ww1 and ww2

I want an episode where they slowly piece this together, and they realise that she's better at hiding it than they thought. They also debate getting her therapy, but realise she'll be seen as mad (not just the dino thing, but the experiencing ww1 and ww2), so they take it upon themselves to learn how to help, they learn from ms Moynihan that she prefers them to communicate what they're doing, as she was concerned about them potentially slacking. Or it's better written, as I don't know her character all too well

I ramble, sorry (but not really)

I think I love the concept of it, and wish to at least vocalise (? This is a text post so idk) how I wish it was done. also, hc that Victor only transforms his head in front of employees bc his raptor form embarasses him because they expect him to be bigger, and his intimidation no longer works (rewrite au)

Do you think Graham burns from tfrb (transformers rescue bots) is short sighted or long sighted?

I haven't watched it in a bit, I don't remember if he's supposed to be short sighted (the further away something is, the less clear the detail) or long sighted (the closer something is, the less clear the detail)

Anyone noticed that when people draw future au art for fandoms they always make the character's hair longer.

irl no one has time for that shit, cut it OFF. Adults even more so, no reason to make gray hairs even more obvious.

WHY would I waste time on styling and taking care of long hair when I could be sleeping???

Anyway, we need more short-haired future au art.

I was making eggs and got salt in a cut i got from opening duvalins with a razor bc it was quicker (those mfs are impossible to open normally istg) and freaked out thinking i was about to feel the pain of kratos and it was like, a slight sting. Lowkey the scare hurt me more. I felt like that one vid of the chipmunk freaking out being chased by the cameraman then standing still realizing it wasn't that serious. Rubbing salt in a wound aint all that. Lowkey embarassed myself and i was alone in the kitchen.

Only, two titans returned.

So Hasbro’s “Titans Return” line has ended, and only two titans, actually returned. Fortress Maximus and Trypticon. I mean, yeah they’re good figures and all, but its called “Titans Return”. And we only got two of them, to return. Now, “Power Of The Primes” might surprise us with another one, but anything is possible.

To my point, I had/have some ideas for Hasbro or any third parties. Smaller Titans. Voyager or Leader class sized. Now I know the city bots are supposed to be huge, but with smaller titans, you could make more than just the four or five characters we know the most. Plus with the smaller size, they wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to buy.

For the titans themselves, I thought we could see, Caminus, Chela, Navitas, Vigilem, and maybe the Devisiun Titan. Why those five? Because they seem different enough to get their own figure.

Has anyone considered that garu just might be ace flux and/or demisexual? I feel like that would explain a lot, and I would like to discuss this.

I’m Actually Not All That Outspoken About My Sexuality. But Youth Are Often Confused About Their Sexuality

I’m actually not all that outspoken about my sexuality. But youth are often confused about their sexuality because of things like this. Every day when I was growing up this is what I saw. One man and one woman fall in love and have sex, get married, sometimes have babies (or it is implied). Over and over and over I see this. The message I got from movies, TV, books, and my peers was that I was defective and broken--lesser. Trying to speak up against the constant stream of ‘one man and one woman’ is difficult; so sometimes you find yourself shouting a little, putting it out there more and more.

Honestly, my sexuality isn’t your problem. What I want is a day when I can be who I am without having to explain what I am; I just want acceptance. I worry that without speaking out, without getting ourselves heard, there will never be acceptance. Keeping a part of yourself in the dark implies shame; I don’t want to be ashamed of who I am.

Consider this: what sexuality has the most voice? Is it possible that millions of people feel the same as you about the constant stream of heterosexuality being ‘shoved’ in our face.

Please do not misunderstand. I am not trying to shame you in any way shape or form.

Whats with any sexuality shoving shit in our faces.. Great you’re gay/asexual/etc… But why is it my business.. Unless we are talking about civil rights. And why can’t I think trannies are weird without being called hateful things. It is weird. Will i give them or anyone respect until they dont deserve it? Of course I will. Why are we trying to force everyone into thinking the same way by shaming?

Listen, I know it's very much a thing that utopian leftists think that religions will simply stop existing once all of our material needs are met, but that is just not the case.

Human beings need ritual. If we are deprived of ritual, we make new ritual. It does not matter if you call it religion or state or whatever it is you call it, human beings will keep making up new rituals.

You cannot stop us, and saying 'this ritual which I like and doesn't hurt anyone else is fine, but that ritual which you like and doesn't hurt anyone else is bad' is just bigotry.

When I say 'you cannot stop us,' I literally mean you cannot stop human beings from making up rituals and religions. Leave a group of six year old girls alone near a mud pit for an hour and you will come back to a newly-minted faith. We make ritual. We make culture. That is what we do.

No, Judaism will not 'naturally cease to exist' when all of our material needs are met. What will happen then is that the Jews will get Jewier, because we will have all the time in the world to study Torah and write stories and make Jewish art. If you met all of my material needs tomorrow, two days from now there would be six more hamsas, a complete bound copy of all the volumes of the Talmud, and a shit-ton of giant Jewish art prints in my house.

You cannot stop people from making up culture and religion. It is, arguably, the thing which makes us human, one of the defining features of our collective humanity. We will always make up silly songs and new religions, and the idea that we'll just give all of that up for some vanilla yogurt and taupe jumpsuits utopian existence is absurd and beyond belief.

can...can we talk about invincible 🥺👉👈

did you read the comics then the show? or vice versa?

did you read the compendiums or did you read issue by issue? (Or volumes? Or some other collection?)

who's your fav character? if it's Mark who's you're favorite side character

anything else you want to talk abt idk (these are bad questions sorry just trying to provoke conversation bc invincible is such a good piece of media I love it UGH)

rn I'm currently waiting for Compendium Three to come in through my local library so I can reread the series :D

YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!!

First I read the comics and then I watched the show (technically I haven't watched the whole thing yet because I'm waiting for a friend to catch up, but we're working on it don't worry)

I actually read them in kind of a weird way. Basically read the first 30 issues in the new volumes (the ones with the show covers). However I didn't want to finish my collection that way because I wanted the extra material that comes in the Ultimate Volumes, so I read the rest of them issue by issue online.

I have a VERY long list of favorites because I can't decide and I love them all so HERE WE GO (not listed in any particular order)

Robot/Rudy: specifically BEFORE he went into the portal. (Utterly deviated with what happened after)

Amanda/Monster Girl: She is girl boss and awesome sauce, what can I say

Mark: Love me a silly little guy (who's a little fucked up)

Eve: Again, she is girl boss how could I not love her

Powerplex: He is probably my FAVORITE villain of the entire series

Dinosaurus: I can't really explain this one I just think he's funny

Cecil: He was probably my favorite character up until the fight with Mark. I don't know what happened but I feel like this character just took a nose dive straight into the concrete :(

Debbie: To be more specific, show Debbie. She is SUCH a great character but unfortunately in the comic she doesn't really... do anything

Terra: She's just a little silly :3

Markus: I KNOW THIS IS A REALLY WEIRD PICK BUT AFTER READING THE FINAL ISSUE I JUST FEEL LIKE HE COULD HAVE BEEN SUCH AN INTERESTING CHARACTER IDK MAN

I do have more to say about each character and really just every character in general, but rn my brain is a little fried so I'll have to ramble some other time.

But PLEASE if you have anything else you wanna talk about FEEL FREE TO ASK. Let my page be a page to ramble and discuss :)
