Oops my hand slipped and I drew a genderbend thingy

Fun Facts About My Cast!!

(Some of these are story related, others are development related)

Ai Mio: Despite the fact that she hates her she secretly admires Tamoko for how perfect her life is but she still doesn’t like her because of how Tamoko treats her and other people, in early concepts Ai actually had black hair but I thought that white looked better, the cross that she wears was actually gift her twin brother gave her before he died, mainly because of Tamoko she believes that everyone is weirded out by her and hates her (expect for Yoshika) so she is very abrasive of a lot of people around her because of Tamoko and all the other people that had bullied her growing up, she never learned how to style or wash her hair and because of all the bullying and abuse she faced her hair is very unkept and uneven and it’s actually a lot longer than it looks, before she was being possibly haunted and possessed by the spirt of her brother but I changed it so now she just believes that his soul is still out there somewhere but he’s not actually haunting her, she doesn’t actually remember what he mom looks or sounds like because she was so distant from her growing up to the point that sometimes she would forget that she even had a mother.

Akira Natsudori: Out of my whole cast she was the first one that I had made and completely, she originally was a slave and didn’t have a name before the others started calling her “Hira” but I ended up changing her backstory a lot, her birth parents tried to kill her when she was a baby and get rid of any documents of her existence, the name she was given at birth was “Rumi Ekozone” before her found father renamed her and ended up forging her original birth documents, after her father died she cut her hair and always kept it short since her father wanted her to have short hair so it wouldn’t be easy for people to pull or grab her, Taki and Nikki were her first real friends since she was always busy being famous or being a vigilante, before she went to Hope’s Peak it was tricker for her to hide the scars she had gotten from her training and mission especially whenever she had to practice for movies and TV shows since they was the time she went on the most missions, despite what she believes she was severely traumatized by her father’s training and all of the missions she had been on because of all the pain she felt and the pain she had to inflict even if she told herself that they deserved it.

Aku Harusaka: He view Shinji very highly not only since he was his complete opposite but also because he reminded him of Riku when they were still friends, at first he was very skeptical of Suzuki because of how secretive she was but he ended up trusting her the most out of everyone, Suzuki was the only one he told about what happend to him and what happened to his eye since he knew she would keep it secret, he was to one who offered the idea to Shinji and Suzuki about letting Hiromi hang out with them, he couldn’t not compare Kajimi’s “execution” to what happend with his eye since it was Ichiro who blamed him for what he did to him and it was Kaori who blamed him for what happened to Kajimi, Aku was going to be a complete asshole to everyone because of what happened to him but instead I decided just to make him very untrusting of people, the reason I choose him to give a missing eye was purely because I could never make both of his eyes look good with his hair so I just decided to not give him a eye, Kajimi and Kaori were his first friends since Riku and they both turned their backs on him for one reason or another, instead of Riku it was going to be Aku’s parents who introduced him to Ichiro because they both liked violin and so he would’ve slightly blamed them for what happened to him, Nikki gets him absolutely livid because of how he seemingly doesn’t take anything serious since he is a person who takes almost everything seriously.

Hajito Nakanashi: After Taki dies he decides to take care of Pancake since he knows that’s what Taki would’ve wanted even though he is a cat person, he handles all the death surprisingly well but when he learns that Minami killed Yuki and then after Minami gets executed he completely breaks down, I designed him with the intention of him being genderfluid but I liked the idea of him just being a natural feminine guy which is why a lot of the characters mistake him for a girl through I haven’t abandoned the idea completely, he is extremely hyperactive and cam go on for hours on end skating without even being thirsty so much so even Nikki gets annoyed by him a bit, technology is something he’s not to fond of because of what could happen and so he didn’t really trust Kajimi and Kaori from the beginning because if their talents.

Hiromi Yatsuada: Never did she dislike the idea of getting married and having kids it was the idea of being forced to be with someone that she didn’t love and who didn’t love her back and became her parents forced that ideal onto her for her whole life she didn’t want to get married for that reason, after she went behind her parents back and went to a ballet competition without their permission they sent her to a all girls boarding school in South Korea so she could become a “proper woman” but she only stayed for fives years because she had gotten accepted to Hope’s Peak, Suzuki was the first girl friend (as in a friend who is a girl) she had since her parents didn’t want her become close with other girls in fear that she would rebel and the only exception they made was when they sent her to boarding school, before she died she gave Nikki her hair clip to give to Shinji not only so he would still have a piece of her but also so the others wouldn’t hate him after they learnt that he killed her, she teaches Shinji how to dance.

Jinji Hazumiki: He was the first of the boys a designed and out of all of them his design had changed the least, the idea of the taks in his mouth came from the Cobbler from The Thief and the Cobbler because I was kinda obsessed with the movie at the time I was designing him, other then when Aku and Kajimi first meet him he doesn’t talk any other time when he’s alive and he actively choose not to talk and uses sign language and hand gestures to communicate, he doesn’t mind Tamoko using him as a base for making clothes since he likes being useful, even though a lot of the kids at his orphanage are either scared of him or don’t like him he still makes dolls and toys for them because he views them like his younger siblings.

Kajimi Nikuhara: All of his accessories and tools he wears he either made himself or modified to make them better, originally he and Jinji grew up in the same orphanage and after seeing how he grew up that contributed to why he ended up killing him but I felt like that would be to convenient so this isn’t true anymore, he secretly loves rock music and listens to rock music when he is working and embraces rock aesthetic whenever he can, after discovering his new found talent for technology there were several people who began offering him sponsorships and collab deals so he’s basically rich, he never intended on Kaori being a casualty in the killing game and did everything he could so there wouldn’t be a possibility of her getting hurt or killed, his old friend in the reserved course grew up with him in the same orphanage and they knew each other for their whole lives so he deeply cared for her no matter what, he feels very attached to cats and kittens since him and his old friend would find a lot of strays outside of their orphanage and they would take care of them together they’re basically his favorite animal.

Kaori Santorini: She hates the fact that she’s a bastard-child and feels responsible for her family’s struggles especially for her uncle since he and his family were the ones that took him in after her mom died, after she moved to Japan she became easily found of the warmer climate and weather and would love working outside in the sun leading to her getting Farmer’s Tan multiple times to the point where it had become her natural skin tone most of the time, before the killing game she and Kajimi would work together as she would help fix his machines and check for any problems in them and these meet up became more common after the incident with his old friend, for some reason she was the only one who had lost her memory completely and couldn’t remember what happened before the killing game while mostly everyone else began to slowly regain their memories even if they were very fuzzy which made her feel very useless and like she was a complete idiot, despite the fact that she wanted to go to Japan to discover better mechanical and technical opportunities for herself and her family she secretly dislikes being half-Japanese because it reminds her of the fact that she’s a bastard child and her father who was a Japanese journalist visiting Russia when he met her mom and abandoned her and her family after her mom died during childbirth, after Kajimi gets executed Kaori had blamed Aku for it even though Kajimi was the one who killed Jinji and coached Aku into revealing that he was the one who did it but despite that she genuinely felt guilty for getting angry at Aku and in reality blamed herself more for not being able to stop what Kajimi did.

Minami Tsujimara: Has a extreme and unhealthy complex with being strong and being able to defend himself after he almost died in a house fire when he was little and left him permanently scarred physically and mentally, he has a lot of respect and yet feels very jealous of Yuki because he views her as his opposite and doesn’t understand why she chooses to be strong even though she doesn’t need to be and isn’t obligated to, at first he was pretty annoyed by Hajito but after a while of not leaving him alone he began to tolerate him and found his craziness very charming, I drew him a lot for anatomy practices and he wasn’t even supposed to be apart of the main cast but after a while I thought he looked cool and I began to make a actual character for him and so I added him to the cast, he will kick ass whenever he sees someone trying to take on someone else just because they know that whoever their trying to intimidate won’t fight back and he finds it incredibly shallow for someone to pick on people who obviously can’t defend themselves.

Nikki Yuzukuro: He has no idea what to think about Akira and finds her life and current predicament to be really strange and unnatural and doesn’t know how to classify her as a good or bad person even though when he first found out about her secret he thought it would’ve obvious, while most people think he only cares about himself he genuinely feels care for people even though because of how people treat and view him he believes that he might as well give in to the idea that he is a selfish prick, his mom is the only person in his life who he doesn’t and has never considered a bad person in the slightest despite keeping him in a bad situation since she always treated him with love and care, he believes that Shinji is a complete idiot who tries to become friends with anyone he thinks is a good person or is a good person and to be fair he is kinda right but he secretly felt jealous that it seemed so easy for Shinji to make friends and trust people, he thinks anyone that who takes what anyone says as fact and takes others opinion of them to heart will never make it anywhere in life despite the fact that he based his entire personality on how the majority of people viewed him and never tried to convince anyone that he’s anything different because that would’ve been harder to do, the whole demon horn headband idea came from Kotoko purely because I thought that demon and angel based accessories and designs are neat, he genuinely felt jealous after Akira and Taki would hand out with each other especially after he and Akira began working together but he didn’t understand why as all of the times he took Akira away it wasn’t because he wanted her for himself and technically they weren’t ever friends but he couldn’t help but be jealous of their friendship and how much they clearly cared for one another.

Shinji Satoko: With everything single fiber of his being he completely despises his bio-dad for abandoning him and his mother and he gives his mom a lot a praise and respect for taking care of him alone for most of his early years, he did actually get a stepfather and even a stepsister later in life and he originally didn’t like his new dad because he wasn’t very trusting of men because of his deadbeat dad but now they’re cool, the peach pink hair and basically the whole hairstyle that Jinji has originally was going to go to Shinji but I felt like pink didn’t really suit him, when it comes to grief and dealing with death he doesn’t take it to well and either hides how he feels about it or finds the most guilty person in the room and blames them for what happened but he does apply this logic to himself, Nikki was his enemy for the whole killing game since he believed that being a asshole and not trusting anyone will only cause more murders but by the end of the killings game even though he definitely doesn’t let up to him he realizes that he can’t actually hate him or blame him for Hiromi dying, he ends up keeping Nikki’s headband along with Hiromi’s hairclip since he only thought it was fair that if he was going to keep apart of Hiromi’s memory alive that he should do the same for Nikki even if he didn’t like him, the first out of the friend group he became friends with was surprisingly Suzuki because he believed that someone like Suzuki has a lot of potential to be better and in turn can help end the killing game but also because he had a feeling that Suzuki would eventually go along with being friends not because she actually wanted to be but so he would stop annoying her, after becoming friends (and falling in love) with Hiromi he vowed to protect all of his friends and especially Hiromi and the idea of any of them being in danger or being killed terrifies him but he doesn’t show it and so pretends to not be scared of all the death around him and doesn’t break until Hiromi.

Suzuki Takoma: She was the one who had the idea of becoming friends with Aku and not Shinji since he caught her writing in her notepad about him and realized that she might be on to something, she and Nikki are on two sides of the same coin as she is very very very wary of the people around her and so she acts as numb and distant as possible so no one can get under her skin and shows no emotion so no one can know how she’s feeling about anything, her glasses are very important since she actually has really bad eyesight and without her glasses she’s basically blind but even if she did lose them she would act like it wouldn’t phase her at all, everyone that she knows she sees a little bit herself in them because she had become so emotional detached that she could view herself in anyone she meets because she has no idea what her own personality would be like, a lot of the secrets that are revealed in the killing game she actually knew about them but didn’t tell anyone because she didn’t want anyone to believe anything about her including the possibility that she was involved with the mastermind, I wanted her hair to be in a braid but every time I drew her it didn’t look right so I gave her Charlie Morningstar hair instead, she thinks frogs are cute and neat.

Taki Kazuki: She loves Akira more than she really understands but still in her mind she and Akira are going to be besties (girlfriends) forever because she loves her, she thinks Nikki is a horrible influence on Akira and that he is only out to manipulate Akira and ruin their friendship even though there’s a lot more going on than she realizes, she and Ai were originally friends before I made Taki and Akira besties, never once did she consider the idea that she likes women even though she has hardcore feelings for Akira and literally finds anything good to say about any girl she meets for no other reason then she thinks all women deserve love even the mean ones, not surprisingly she is super naïve and even though she’s not stupid she still manages to get herself into very dangerous situations because she doesn’t understand some basic red flags until it’s either spelled out to her or it’s already to late, she actually thought MonoKat was actually a good person because their a cat and Taki trusts any animal but unfortunately for her MonoKat is a robot and not a animal and her trust in them got shut down quickly, believe or not I was going to give her an ahoge but it ended up looking off so I got rid of it.

Tamoko Aiashi: Most of the people she bullies if not all the people she bullies she only targets them because of any flaws they have that remind her of herself when she was younger, literally any outfit she makes and wears HAS to include fur in some way whether it’s a fur coat fur covered boots some fur sleeves fur skirts or dresses fur hair ties even fur sunglasses, I wanted her outfit to represent her personality and specifically how Tamoko intimidates people so she wears a huge fur coat to make herself seem bigger then she really is and I have her very tall boots so she would be taller then she actually is even though both of these things would seemingly contrast the fact that she’s pretty skinny and short, originally she wasn’t going to be as sassy as she is and instead she was going to be decently shy but everyone assumed that she had a nasty personality, she is a complete hypocrite when it comes down to bullying and devaluing Ai as she will bully her in front of everyone about how she’s like a skeleton and that she looks like she walked out of a dumpster even though Tamoko herself grew up very poor and so looked very dirty and unclean and because her family was poor they usually wouldn’t have a lot of food to eat which led to her becoming pretty skinny and even after she still choose to stay skinny and only bullies Ai for it because she’s “more unappealing” than she is, she originally despised Hajito since I originally made him her half-brother as a result of infidelity and cheating and Tamoko hated him since she believed that he ruined her family to the point where she hated him almost more than Ai, the only person in the group that she treats with a bit more kindness is Jinji because he lets her use him as a base for designing clothes and even though she never admits it she is grateful that he helps her out.

Yoshika Kamakado: He doesn’t participate in rituals or exorcisms a lot because after one went wrong he started getting visions some of them being of the future and others being indeterminable and he believes that these visions are possibly the result of being haunted or cursed, his parents are like Morticia and Gomez Addams but because his family were so spooky a lot of kids bullied him and even spread rumors that his parents were killers and kidnapped people and that Yoshika might have been kidnapped and brainwashed as a baby, Ai was the only person he knew (besides his parents) who could 100% match his freak and so he helps her with any occult knowledge that he can since she wasn’t to educated about any of it, he actually tried to become friends or at least get on good terms with Tamoko so she and Ai would stop fighting but Tamoko told both of them to suck it and that’s when he started to have a distain for her, he asked Jinji to make him a collection of voodoo dolls once for an experiment during one of Ai’s rituals and Jinji agreed, I really wanted to draw a guy with long hair and I drew a previous design of him with his hair down but he looked like a hobo so I drew him with a messy man-bun and I approved it.

Yuki Tsuyoa: She wasn’t originally going to be a muscular woman and she was just going to be average looking girl but the idea of a muscular girl was intriguing and I hadn’t drawn a lot of muscular people before so I gave myself a challenge, out of the whole cast she is without a doubt the most sane one here and that’s purely because she didn’t have any PTSD or trauma that would cause any problems in a killing game, she became training buddies with Minami because they were both friends with Hajito and she thought he needed some advice, unprompted if she feels like someone needs to blow off steam she will offer to fight them (in a friendly way of course), she only started working out so she could properly defend herself when the time came even though other people assumed that she did it because she was bullied or underestimated for being weak or for being a girl but that was never true, she secretly wished that she wasn’t as caring as she is not because she’s putting up a front but because she wanted the others to be strong for themselves and wouldn’t have to rely on someone else to be strong.

I wanted to try drawing lashes that aren’t straight black because I feel like drawing black lashes are just easier to match up with the actual eye so I wanted to give myself a challenge and draw really light lashes and I think they actually came out pretty good (but I probably won’t draw them like this to often if I’m being honest :P)

No one was curious(also cuz I have art block) but this is what I imagined my cast’s families would look like-

Jinji’s Family: He has no parents or, only grew up knowing the other kids at the orphanage he lives at so he mainly views the kids as his family especially the younger kids

Yuki’s Family: She was raised by her mother mostly since her parents are divorced and her dad works overseas, she also has a younger sister but she lives with her dad so they don’t meet often

Minami’s Family: He never knew his biological parents since he was and so he was raised by his grandma mostly since of his life, she’s the only person he can’t fight

Tamoko’s Family: She is the older sister to FIVE younger siblings and she’s basically their mom, her parents are around but she is a lot more mature when it comes down to her siblings

Yoshika’s Family: He’s an only child and he appreciates the silence very much, his parents are just as horror enthusiastic as he is and they’re whole house is taken out of a scary movie

Ai’s Family: Her dad is a abusive, alcoholic, asshole who doesn’t like either of his kids and her mom was hardly around to know or care, she had a twin brother but her dad accidentally killed him

Taki’s Family: Her parents abandoned her and do she grew up homeless and orphaned for most of her early years but she was adopted by the founder of a popular zoo, after a year or two she started volunteering at the zoo and this is how she met Pancake and she got attached…QUICKLY

Akira’s Family: She was almost killed as a baby but like Taki a man found her and took her in, but unlike Taki she was basically raised by a cult and I’ll leave it at that

Hiromi’s Family: She’s a only child and her parents are very strict when it comes down to her role in society and especially didn’t want her to participate in ballet, when she was younger she went against her parents more often but eventually they sent her to a boarding school in South Korea for a few years

Nikki’s Family: His dad might have been in a gang but other then that he treated his family including Nikki like shit but his mom didn’t want to leave, eventually when he was twelve he ran away but he still misses his mom and his siblings and sometimes regrets running away

Kajimi’s Family: He had his whole family murdered when he was a kid and so he had to grow up in a orphanage but eventually he met another kid and he became friends with her, until they went to Hope’s Peak together

Kaori’s Family: Her dad was a Japanese journalist visiting Russia and eventually he met her mom and they got together but when Kaori was born he mom died because of the effects of the birth and so her dad dipped, so she was raised by her mom’s side of the family specifically by her uncle’s family and so she lived a Russia for her early years

Hajito’s Family: He was adopted by a couple when he was a baby and surprisingly their not nearly was enthusiastic and upbeat as he is, however their both very supportive of their son and his dreams

Shinji’s Family: His dad is a complete deadbeat and left his mom and him when he was a baby, despite that his mom is very loving to him and never gave up on him even with the birth defect he was born with and when he was older his mom got remarried to his stepfather and he even got a older stepsister

Suzuki’s Family: Her mother was murder when she was five and the police never found who did it and her father became extremely depressed and so he couldn’t be there for her after her mom died which deeply affected her mental state in the present

Aku’s Family: He has two caring parents who love him very, very, very much, however they became more protective after the eyeball incident( if you know you know) and try to encourage him to get back into playing violin

So as a apology for the angst I posted earlier, and since it’s love month, I decided to create some cute ship names for my DR cast-

Since I didn’t know what to draw for new years, I just decided to post a some sketches I did over the year when I was bored,
