Axel's father and Angie's father are brothers, although they don't get along that well...
Likewise, Axel's parents are divorced, generating conflicts between Axel and them during his adolescence, the only person he could turn to was his cousin Angie.
Thanks to her, Axel asked to leave Canada and go to the United States of America, where he met Puff Puff, Deejay and Benatar.

When I was in middle school I wrote a fanfic about how Puff was actually a Martian and how his parents sent him off to earth when he was a baby and when he found out years later he went back to his home planet and sacrificed his life to save his kin from an evil colonizer and named his band after his sacrifice.
Which would’ve been way cooler lore, but nah Ray had to make him a stoner guy 🙄
