Back at it again with my ClanGen game! You might remember me talking about ClanGen. You may naturally assume I've picked it up again recently and decided to draw my clan's ten founders, and that I spent a few days to a week making this. And you would, naturally, be wrong. I started this in February. I drew the first eight cats. All that was left was Morningpaw and Creekpaw. But I just. Stopped. And forgot about it. Until a month or so ago, when I FINALLY drew the last two cats. And then I forgot about it again until a week or two ago, when I finished it up, and I'm now posting it.
These cats are from HeronClan, a fanmade Warriors Clan that lives by the sea. They are the Clan's founders. You might have noticed the 2:3 adult to child ratio, which was an accident, and resulted in Rowanstar getting four apprentices: Wolfpaw, Webpaw, Morningpaw and Creekpaw. I can only imagine what that must have been like. Mouselarch was the only warrior at the beginning, too. I'm now in the 30-somethingth moon, and the Clan has wayyy more members now; I'm thinking of drawing another list of cats once I get to Moon 50, but we'll have to see.
Here are the traits/skills of each cat, so you can get a bit of a feel for their personalities:
Rowanstar: calm, unusually strong fighter
Toadheart: careful, great teacher
Skystripe: faithful, great hunter (pain)
Mouselarch: strange, good teacher
Wolfpaw: patient
Ganderpaw: ambitious
Hillpaw: ambitious
Webpaw: loyal
Morningpaw: compassionate
Creekpaw: cold

These are two characters from my main ClanGen game: Hillpatch and his son, Shellpaw. Hillpatch is the brown-and-white one and Shellpaw is the black-and-white one. I don't have much to say about them lol, I just wanted to draw them. I also drew the original ten starter cats (which includes Hillpatch, just as an apprentice), and that drawing will be posted eventually.
Idk what is expected on Tumblr in terms of having a theme for your blog, if you can't tell. I'm probably just going to throw all of my OC stuff into this one, including my ClanGen stuff, unless I start making a lot of ClanGen art, which is unlikely. So yeah. Expect that

My Favorite Ship In The Clan
I was going to skip this ask because i dont ship anyone in the clan yet As only Riftstar x Olivepaw & Dropletpaw x Squirrelpaw would be the only possible ships BUT then i thought ''What about the ones in the afterlife?'' and i remembered i actually ship my starclan guide Runnelpelt with Antclans starclan guide, one of the clans that borders mine, that being Butterflyflit!
Theyre like an old married couple, shes the only one allowed to tease him about his age and they watch over their respective clans and do their best to keep both clans on good terms for the others sake

Olivepaw favorite & least favorite task
She loves going foraging, especially picking flowers because they smell good and being in a wasteland, most of the territory doesnt smell particularily good
And as much as she loves them, anytime shes at camp, Riftstar always puts her on kitsitting duty Its hard to study herbs without a mentor and watch the kits at the same time She dislikes kitsitting but has never admitted it, worrying she'd hurt the kits feelings if they found out, but her face makes it really obvious
Luckily Lilykit doesnt leave her sight and Thistlekit can easily be distracted by giving her a task

Dropletpaw quirks/maneurism
She tries to ruin someones day in small ways when shes mad at someone or generally having a bad day Such as being passive aggresive or pushing past someone hoping they fall in a puddle Foul Language Warning Heres my silly interpretation of that
I think it stems from being mostly reserved and not venting to anyone, she subconsciously believes that she needs to blame someone for her bad day and gets revenge that way
Tho she never acts this way towards Riftstar, shes conscious enough not to put herself in trouble

Hello!! Are Riftstar’s eyes something he has in his sprite too or did you come up with the idea to give him heterochromia? Either way it looks so cool I love him

So to answer the question, funny you ask this Technically both answers are correct.. Their sprite DOES have heterochromia but i was the one that went in the files to make it that way
I sometimes go in the files to slightly edit characters when they first appear in game. Like Riftstar is the only i edited so far, in hopes that it'd make me like them instead everyone loves them exept me

Redesigns
Olivepaw's redesign was mostly just the color scheme which i didn't really like as it was hard to see the patterns, its more accurate to her sprite now anyway ^^
I also cleared up the spots so that its not just random everytime i draw her Oh and of course i added the heather flowers :3
Dropletpaw's redesign is mostly just the stripes GOD THEY WERE A PAIN TO DRAW BEFORE It needed to change, now they're sharp and much easier to draw constantly, at least i hope so-
And heres Squirrelpaw too so he doesnt feel left out Hes got huge fangs now!!
I dont wanna draw Riftstar i hate the guy He doesn't need any redesigning so its the same Is this enough?

Tyler is a kittypet. Currently 40 moons old as of moon 6. He's got a dog friend called Gimbo who is not the dog of his twolegs, but actually just a very friendly stray! Not sure how relevent he will be to Spiderclans story in the future, but hopefully i stop calling him Tilly by accident, because i keep forgetting its TYLER and not TILLY!!! If he gets a kid im naming it Tilly no matter what.
MOON 6
Dropletpaw (7m) meets a kittypet named Tyler. Tyler: Playful, Good hunter
Tyler (40m) explains that the dog is his friend and to please not hurt them. Shes too shocked to speak, too confused at the possibility of a dog and a cat being friends.
Dropletpaw missed a catch and is still sulking over it.
She overhears Squirrelpaw (9m) spreading bad rumors about Thistlekit (2m).
Dropletpaw snaps at him. She dispels the rumor which Thistlekit (2m) greatly appreciates. Olivepaw (12m) is rudely awoken by Dropletpaw. Lilykit (2m) wonders who her mentor will be. Thistlekit: Fearless -> Charming
Olivepaw decided to wear heathers to remember this beautiful view. (cough cough) i cant draw flowers help-
Riftstar (16m) has a nice chat with Serpentstar to try and make ammends for Squirrelpaw being a troublesome apprentice and antagonizing AntClan in the past.

Stupid question... how were the kits being fed until they were old enough for solids?
I ask myself that same question everyday! I'd say a kit can start eating solids at 3 moons old..
But theres literally no adult female cats in the clan, Riftstars the only adult and well, unfortunately he's not trans so..? This is really odd, unless Riftstar is commiting theft on a daily basis.

My favorite cat in SpiderClan is Dropletpaw!
I draw her to relax sometimes, thing is i may not have mentionned it on tumblr yet but im only ever 1 moon ahead of you guys, so i dont actually know whats going to happen to these cats much!
Well i can tell you shes not dying next moon, but otherwise i dont need to tell you anything more since youll find out soon when its all finished anyway! I only allow myself to play the next moon once most of the previous moon is finished, that way i keep motivated to draw them, because if i already knew how it ended id just not be invested enough. Here are Dropletpaws thoughts about everyone else thus far!
Riftstar is slightly jealous of her, i've interpreted this as him being jealous of her height (shes a maine coon mix) While Olivepaw & Lilykit dislike her a bit, Im assuming its because shes been very rude and snappy on moon 6 (heres ur spoiler) Dropletpaw is clanborn, Oddly insightful & recently gained the Lover of stories skill, which is interesting, i cant recall when it happened so im kinda confused at where that came from.
Anyway i love dropletpaw because she is the most traumatised of the clan, having been taken away from her family as they were infected with redcough, she was pretty much depressed for a whole moon. Sure Squirrelkit asked her how she was feeling at the time, but i think he mightve rushed her to get better so they could play together. Then she even let him vent to her about his, frankly, very less important issues, and now i fear she doesnt know how to cope properly. I hope she gets better, but theres not much I can do, all im able to do is watch the story unfold.
What more can you share about Riftstar? THEY LOOK SO AWESOME!
Theres not alot i know but heres what i DO know about them!
Riftstar has outsider roots, their father was apart of SpiderClan and their mother was most likely a loner or kittypet. Riftstar was formerly mentored by Fogstar, they struggled to follow her teachings, and if she were still here, they doubt she would have ever given them a warrior name. They weren't fond of their mentor, in fact they get jealous of a lot of their clanmates, but they dont let their jealousy get in the way of their responsibilities and take clan life very seriously. They seem to be warming up to their clanmates now which is great!
Heres are Riftstars thoughts about everyone else thus far!
They feel really overwhelmed with having 2 apprentices, thankfully Dropletpaw is very well behaved and causes him no trouble, but Squirrelpaw is a different story. He does seem to get along with both of them well at least! Olivepaw seems to be developping a crush on Riftstar, I dont know if it'll go any further than that, especially since its not reciprocrated rn. Personally I doubt it'll go anywhere, but we will see. Riftstar is 16m, Olivepaw is 12m, thats a 4 moon difference for those who were wondering.
As of what i know rn, they are cis male (They/Them) I must admit Riftstar is my least favorite of the clan, like, im pretty much their biggest hater- But everyone else loves them for some reason? I dont get it...
I do admit i love their in game sprites, but i dislike my design, hoping that others can change my mind ^^"

Sure!
Valerian was raised by her mother, she never knew her father. She was named Valerian for its use against anxiety and insomnia, because her mother wished for her to find peace, yet Valerian never ever smiled despite her wish. She didnt have a social life, living all alone, she got used to wear a pissed off look on her face to keep others away. She didnt believe in starclan nor respect the warrior code, often trespassing on borders with no care in the world. Valerian was skilled at fighting, hunting and hiding, she earned a bad reputation with the clans thanks to the rare times skilled warriors found her tresspassing where she would fight them to keep her prey. She never came unscathed from battles and would visit her mother to have her wounds healed. She dreamed of raising a family with a mate, but never found love, so knowing she was growing old herself, she had a short fling with a cat and got pregnant. She passed along her mothers wish for her kits to find peace in life, Valerian wanted so badly to raise Lilykit & Thistlekit, but giving birth was too hard on her and she didnt make it. She promises to keep them safe even in death, and watches closely as a roaming spirit.
She has no idea Lilykit is able to see her, and Lilykit doesnt know who she is and feels intimidated by her presence.. Moon 4 has been updated to add the drawing above

Too many to name all of them, I believe my follows are public if you want to see all of them But those that inspired me to start my own Clangen blog were:
FallenClan, whom might be the first i ever followed (fuzzy memory) and by default became my favorite.. I could talk about it for hours but I'll spare you. CastawayClan, the relationship that Goldrun & Conifersun has really made me want to do my own little clan, and also kinda why I killed off like half my clan at the start because it looked easier to focus on the characters relationships when there are fewer cats, I want to be sad when one of my characters ends up dying, just like I was when uh- yeah no spoilers. Gray-ThistleClan, the style, the designs, the story.. I started SpiderClan when I found this blog, Its also why I chose the Wastelands for my Clans territory, the backgrounds in that blog are beautiful and im hoping in future moons I can learn how to add more and more life to it, by drawing boxes, abandonned cars.. you know, stuff im not used to!

Valerian was a loner. 118 moons old. She always looked grumpy no matter if she was happy or not, kind of like a resting bitch face. She swears to look after her kits and protect them even in death, Thistlekit most likely got this trait from her.
Moon 5
TW Arachnophobia
Dropletpaw (6m) feels like a whole new cat! She used to be fearless but quickly realized there are many things she'll need to protect her clanmates from. Riftstar (15m) feels quite overwhelmed with having two apprentices, not even mentioning the fact that Dropletpaw is far younger than them and yet stands at their height already! They can't help but feel a bit jealous of her.. Dropletpaw: Fearless -> Charismatic
Riftstar holds a training session for Dropletpaw on how best to hide within the tall grass. She grasps the instructions quickly and they're soon playing a small game of hide and seek to test her skills! Dropletpaw: Charismatic -> Vengeful
Olivepaw (11m) brings Squirrelpaw (8m) along to gather cobwebs, he himself offered to come help, however, thats where they both learn that Squirrelpaw has an immense phobia of spiders..
They end up completly ruining what they had gathered.
Thistlekit (1m) promises to her sister Lilykit (1m) that she'll always look out for her. Lilykit listens to her quietly about how she could beat a badger in battle.

Moon 4
Riftstar (14m) loses sight of Squirrelpaw (7m) while training and spends hours looking for him.. When he does find him, they're distraught to see him arguing with Grayscale from AntClan!
While out foraging, Olivepaw (10m) starts hearing cries from what she believes is a StarClan cat! She follows it to the source and finds two newborn kits clinging to the now cold body of their mother..
She immediately curls up around them and cries out for the next patrol to help her carry them back to camp safely.
Dropletkit (5m) is letting Squirrelpaw vent to her about the outrageous favoritism Riftstar just commited, he let Olivepaw go to the gathering, but refused to let him join!! Dropletkit just hopes him talking about it will calm him down..
