I'm making some vague story, but regarding the ship, Vi is (unawaringly) crushing on Jinx while Jinx is going thought some shady stuff™ to even notice.
Jinx would live on her own since 15 while Vi's still living with Vander and the boys. They both hang out a lot, and from time to time, Vander let's Vi stay the night with Jinx. (She steals Jinx's clothes to sleep)

In a universe where Vi and Pow were in love and together, Jinx becomes a mom just some months after Vi 'left'.
