Squid Sisters welcome visitors in their vibrant outfits! And of course both cities will be decked out in colorful decorations.

I wanna come out and say this. Y’all are cowards for just shipping Shiver and Frye. Make it poly. Big man deserves love too
And with that, the grand festival is over…
Thank you so much to everyone who played, whether we were on the same team or not it was an absolute honor to fight with you all. This felt truly special in a way no other splatfest has before. No matter what the outcome is I am extremely proud to have participated!
I genuinely had so much more fun with this splatfest than any of the others I’ve participated in, it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing splatoon. I didn’t start playing splatoon 2 until we’ll after it’s final fest, and so the grand fest really did feel like a finale for me. It allowed me to come full circle in my splatoon journey.

Been thinking about a reversed splatoon universe so I used this to make some of the idols as the other species. The only real name change is that it would be the Octo sisters
Okay, crazy theory/headcanon that doesn't have that much evidence to it but
What if it has to do with age?
Callie, Marie, Pearl and Marina are implied to be older than our player character (somewhere in their 20s), and I don't know how old the members of Deep cut are, but I headcanon them as older than neo 3 and younger than the squid sisters (18 to 21).
So what if inkling and octoling hair colors become more natural overtime, slowly fading from their original ink colors to the natural hair colors we see with the first two idols before they dry out like how Cuttlefish so kindly demonstrated for us.
And then it would be funny if they could be revived by their fellow cephalopods' tears like with what Cap'n 3 did.
And they can no longer transform into their humanoid form lol.
EDIT:
I just noticed you can even see starting to happen with Shiver's hair.
Am I the only one confused by this?
Yes I am team Frye, how could you tell? Tried experimenting with lines and not shading anything. Learned a few things about krita along the way.
OH MY COD, SHE ROCKS THIS LOOK!! I- Just, The blue to green gradient of her .."hair", The dark green poncho(?) The hole look is a YES!!!11!1!!
Shiver has some really neat solo moves too! I really like the fan flicking, and green is a really nice colour on them tbh
