NINE’S APOLOGY (Dear Evan Hansen/Sonic Prime edit)

Hey everyone! One day when I was listening to ‘Word’s Fail’ from DEH (yes, I am a musical theatre nerd 🤓) I started to imagine how great it would sound with an edit of Sonic Prime. A couple hours later… voila! Hope you enjoy this little emotional mash-up as much as I enjoyed editing it!

Here’s a concept poster for my au idea “Dear Silver the Hedgehog”. I’ve been having a lot of fun thinking this up, and I absolutely love the though of our three hedgehog boys singing ‘Sincerely Me’! Also Silver singing ‘Waving Through a Window’ or Blaze singing ‘Requiem’ are cool to think about :>

(Btw I’m not sure about the last names since technically Shads and Sonic would also have the same ones… maybe I’ll try to come up with something??)

Dear Evan Hansen, but Sonic AU

Okay so I saw some animatics and stuff of this and am thinking about trying to write an au hehe {not too happy with the way Sonic turned out in the drawing but I tried😊}

The concept I think would be:

Evan: Silver

Jared: Sonic

Connor: Shadow

Alana: Amy

Zoe: Blaze

Not sure about Zoe’s parents or Evan’s mom, but I thought these fit great! Please enjoy my nerdy ramblings and ideas UwU

So, I watched the Dear Evan Hansen movie, cos it was on BBC iPlayer and a lot of my mutuals love DEH, it was very very good, I totally get why y'all love it! It was also very sad so I will not be coming back to this cos I like my media light-hearted, but like, I super get it's beautiful and got all the feelings and like it's very powerful and the music is beautiful and I love the characters, they're like totally relatable, that's kind of the problem for me, it's a bit too relatable and like, trying to move on from that era and not think about it too much, but I get for other people in a similar situation it could be very good to see representation, so like, if you feel it, wonderful! Overall, it's an excellent musical, I super appreciate it, it's just not for me personally, but like, would totally recommend it to other people if you don't mind it being sad! Alright, love you all, hope you're doing amazing, and if you're struggling with your mental health, please try to reach out, cos like, I know it sounds kinda dumb, but like, you all deserve amazing things and amazing people who love and respect you, cos like, every life is valuable, and like, I know it can not feel like it sometimes, but like, you're amazing and wonderful and I really hope things get better for you if you're struggling, cos like, yeah. Yeah, that also makes sense, they were passing through the same kind of things (depression, social anxiety, etc) and he related to Evan. But he could also have forgotten about the letter.

Guess we'll never know

One thing that doesn't make sense in Dear Evan Hansen is that Connor took his own life while he had Evan's letter.

Like, what did he wanted people to think?

Did he wanted to make people believe that his death was Evan's fault (I find this quite improbable, because no one would read that letter and think that Evan was guilty of anything)?

Did he wanted to people to realise that Evan wrote that letter to "tease" him and blame Evan (because no one would have predicted that someone else would pretend to be your bestie after your death)?

EDIT: Did he wanted people to think that Evan was his boyfriend so Evan would suffer from homophobia or discrimination for trying to make him upset with that letter (extremely improbable)??

Didn't he think about that letter?? Was he too lazy or to tired to do something about it??

Does anyone knows the answer to this (or knows a theory that makes sense)? I'm really curious

(Maybe this is explained in the book but I haven't read it)

Hi I'm gonna dump here my thoughts about connor and his parents and specifically the song "To Break In a Glove" because I've analyzed them a bit and find the murphy family very interesting

Im upset they removed To Break In a Glove from the movie. It's an important song. Not because Larry and Evan bond. But because it shows kind of Larry's perspective on connor and what he thought, all through metaphors with something Larry likes, Baseball. It seems like Larry had tried once to bond with Connor, but he never asked connor what he wanted To do. Connor wasn't interested in Baseball, this wasn't something that interested him. These lyrics make it clear what this song is about (more yapping below)

I think Larry has the mindset of trying one thing and sticking to it no matter what, thinking that that one thing is the right thing. Even when it came to his son. He wanted Connor to stick to one thing to try and get better.

On a simular note, something i think is interesting, Cynthia is the opposite. She trys everything possible to help her son. She doesn't stop at one thing. Cynthia and Larry are very opposite which interests me. Larry is very distance with his kids and is in the "one solution, you need to stick to it" mindset and almost seems like he gave up on connor. While Cynthia cares so much about her kids. More Connor then Zoe it seems sometimes. She tries everything she can think of to help connor. But the flaw with both of them is that neither of them asked connor. They didn't actually know connor and know what he needed or wanted and I think that's most important. They tried to help him but never actually took his thoughts and feelings into consideration.

I just think the Murphys have a very interesting dynamic and I think they had a very complicated relationship. Connors parents definitely weren't the best and I have more points on that but that's a topic for another time
