Side Plot Idea
(A mini plot, since your players will not follow the main one, that you can use to guide your players to follow the main one)
Poly-wrath
Description: The party antagonised/had a fight with/stole from an NPC, unfortunately for them, that NPC is not a god or the BBEG (those are common things for Adventurers), no that NPC is actually in a polyamorous relationship with A LOT of people, who all treat the NPC like a teddy bear, and when they hear how the players treated their favourite teddy bear, they will be sure to make them regret it.
Functionality: Maybe not all the partners are adventurers/warriors, so the majority of them will not directly attack the players (or maybe the NPC asked them not to and they reluctantly promised). Put them as the tavern’s owner, so the players will either prohibited to enter or would find their stay very uncomfortable (keep it fun tho, it needs to hurt the character not the player); or maybe one of them is a wagon driver and takes the players for a low price ( “A discount for the pretty lady” or “Because you’re a lot I’ll give you a discount” but in this last case be sure to give the players a chance to someone who doesn’t want to give them the discount and to someone who wants, aka the NPC’s partner) but instead of taking them where they wanted they “lost the way” or maybe leaves the party there after having sent camp for the night (maybe also giving the players only a short rest if you make that the Wagon driver offers to do the first round of guarding to “take care of the horses in the meantime”)

The deity Dolodea from my homebrew D&D campaign! They're the deity of Joy, Laughter, Entertainment and Playfulness. He takes the form of a clown and travels with a circus to bring joy and laughter to the places they all travel to. (They go by Doodle when not addressed as a deity! I posted a modern au art of him previously)
Drew an NPS for a dnd campaign! Right before the game… the stress is unreal xD
He is an elf tailor named Elion Leothoris. Being a very humble genius in tailoring he was kicked out from the tailor’s guild and now works at the alchemist’s guild because they appreciate his efficient designs for their work and he also work on private commissions for a very important people in town.
And yes, it’s the same elf who is smitten with a slime girl. (You can look at the slime girl one post below)
I’m planning on finishing this illustration, hope it’ll turn out good. And I’m planning to draw them together
Also big props to my dungeon master for playing this elf better than I could ever imagine I’ve fallen in love with him. It’s was such a good role play I wish I had him in real life ദ്ദി ꒦ິ꒳꒦ິ )✧
okay so it’s character time again
today’s characters are neon and maro, a pair of nonbinary badass npcs in the campaign that i finally started running today.
this is neon. they’re a nymph, dress in all black, can be found in the bar chatting with their friend. they’re an aromantic lesbian who takes no shit and is just generally too cool for everyone. also they wear platform boots that make them like six and a half feet tall, which is only three inches taller than their natural height. sometimes, they can be seen riding around the city on a motorcycle or in the alley having a smoke.
this is maro. they’re neon’s best friend, almost always together, naturally just over six feet tall. maro is a dryad, but their tree is burnt down. they wear all red, also ride a motorcycle, and smoke more than neon does. they’re an ace lesbian of few words and no bullshit. if they like you, they’ll say. if they want you gone, they will tell you to go away. they’re that kinda person.

character of the day: areti, aka big momma
she’s a halfling, runs a soup shop. she’s an older lady, loves her family very much. she has a daughter, tasia, who married a lovely cyclops named pericles. areti recently gave her granddaughter, ionna, her first job.
areti’s wife, cora, was a trans woman. she transitioned after they were married and areti suggested they renew their vows so cora could have a proper wedding as herself. tasia walked cora down the aisle and areti cried because her wife looked so happy and so beautiful.
basically i love her very much.
considering i just reblogged a post saying i talk about mythology, figure now might be a good time to talk some more about my campaign.
character of the day: parthenia.
she’s a devout worshiper of zeus, specifically of the epithet of zeus xenios. she runs a sort of boarding and bathhouse for travellers passing through called the golden oak. if you know zeus’ symbols, you’ll understand.
so far i have her described as the human embodiment of a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. i considered giving her a child with zeus, but she has far too much respect for hera to accept his advances.
normally i know this would not stop zeus. in this case, i don’t want it as part of my campaign.
so she’s favored by hera and is generally just a lovely person.
meet Laufey, a 1788 year old shapeshifting demigoddess who has perpetually been in a midlife crisis for her entire life. She has recently settled down with her 577 cats and established one of the most popular cat cafés in Valdania, ignoring the fact that she is still grounded by her mother and should not have been allowed to leave the cabin in which she was imprisoned
