Writing Patterns (Tag Game)

1. Foggy Nelson had never been a scaredy-cat. (Not how this was supposed to work)

2. When Foggy comes home late, be it because he had a client meeting, met with some friends, or had other errands to run, it is usually to the same scene. (Hooks and Needles)

3. When Foggy heard footsteps out in his garden of petrified figures, he sighed. (Garden of Stone)

4. Matt knew that something was different the second he pushed the front door open. (You're Lucky You're Cute)

5. Matt was sitting on a rooftop. (Finding your mind)

6. “Why do you always dress masc?” Clint asked Bruce. (It's about feeling pretty)

7. Clint woke up. (This is not the end (Oh, how I wish it had been))

8. “What are you doing?” Foggy asks, looking down at Matt, who seems to have decided he is a monkey now and Foggy is the cosiest tree around. (The Minidevil)

9. Matt didn’t remember how or even when exactly it had started that they said it. (I've meant it all)

10. Clint was lying in bed. (The Color of Pain)

This is a pretty good image of the way I start almost all my works. There is not really a start to them, they just take someone™️ and takes them somewhere™️ or let them say something™️.

I also write mostly past tense, but have had a few present tense fics recently. Usually I start them that way for some reason and then have to fight my way to the end.

Foggy sighed, and Matt knew he had caught onto the pause that was Matt thinking about his old mentor. But even though Foggy didn’t know what he wasn’t saying, they had known each other long enough for him to know that asking would just make the problem worse.
