NEW COUCH MOMENT!!! featuring the blorbos
I canāt wait for when Trump dies in the next three years because of the tumblr sexy man poll of 2028
I WOULD UNIRONICALLY WATCH 7 SEASONS OF THIS HDKDHDK
Also damn yāall REALLY liked him huh
I freaking love it when a community comes together to create something amazing in honor or out of nothing but sheer love for a series, and Iāll be honest; Iāve actually never seen gravity falls, except for a few episodes, but Iāve been wanting to watch them. Especially since Iāve been seeing a lot of amazing works on tumblr dedicated to gravity falls, and just a summarized version of the lore blew my mind. And just the mere mention of something like this dying out just breaks my heart.
So yeah, Iād honestly love to see a fan made version of season 3. I canāt animate very well so I more than likely wonāt be of much help, but I hope someone with the skills and ideas will see this, maybe after I finish the show then I can maybe help with theories or season 3ās storyline or storyboards at the very least.
I finished reading The Book of Bill (borrowed it from a friend, still wanna buy it) and I'm confronting my biggest fear: this fandom dying.
After we finish deciphering the book and the website, what's gonna be next? I doubt Alex is gonna write more books.
I honestly believe we can keep the fandom alive is we continue creating content: fanarts, fanfics, comics. I personally love all the Bill AUs. Heck if we organized ourselves we could create a fanmade Season 3! Or even a prequel with the Stan twins! Maybe even Spinoff show with OC characters!
Personally I'm working on ideas for a Bill AU, though I fear that by the time I make it the fandom is gonna be dead again.
I won't blame you if you move on to a different fandom. But if you love the show as much as I do I encourage you to make content.
You may think you're talentless and you can't write or draw to save your life, but I assure you even your favorite artist/writer's first drawings/fics werent amazing.
And I know what you're thinking "but I dont have an ipad/computer" and let me tell you I made all my drawings on my old Samsung A7 phone! When there's a will there's a way!

The birthday party one :(
stan is the only member of the pines twins^2 to never make a deal with bill and i think he needs more credit for that.
ford makes, just, so many deals with his demon boyfriend
dipper literally trades his body to bill in sock opera
and while i will die on the hill that it was never her fault, mabel is tricked into making a deal with him for weirdmagenon.
but stan never gets tricked. the only time he comes close was when he was pretending to be ford but that was with the sole purpose of getting bill erased. never does bill get to him or twist his thoughts. for being the "dumb one" he's surprisingly rational in this was.
nobody matches bill intellectually, ford's fatal flaw is that he thought he did, and the pines family wins because they have an emotional core that bill never had (the power of sibling bonding saves the day and i love it) but ill go out on a limb and say that out of everyone, stan is the only one to match bill's street smarts.
bill's a master manipulator but stan is a professional con-artist with no respect for the law, you tell me who's coming out on top.
stan successfully faked his own death, ran a business for 30 years, taught himself some sort of advanced engineering to repair the portal, evaded local, federal and international authorities from the age of 18, and did it all without any support.
and going back to when he pretends to be ford to get bill to enter his mind, that scene makes stan the only character to ever outwit bill.
anyways this has been a stan pines appreciation post, thank you and goodnight
Congratulations Stanley! I love him very much
Angst warning.
So I was thinking about an AU where Stan's brain gets fried because of being shot for a long pointed of time with the memory gun which ends up killing him. The others know there could be effects when it came to using the device, but they had no idea it could fry someone's brain to the point of death. I'm gonna call it the fried Au for the lols.
(If you want to add or do something with this, go for it :D)
What would Fordās reaction be if he found out Stan had no wings?
Depending on how he finds out, He might want to see and know what happened to Stan's wings. I think he would be a mixture of shock and horror with a bit of anger to those who took Stan's wings. Ford might also feel guilt about it while Stan would try and wave it off and say it wasn't his fault.
Even if told it wasn't his fault I can see him feeling guilty. especially during wing-type activities that Stan might not be able to do. And might want to create wings for Stan. (Credit to @hugthedragon)
Gravity Falls wings au, but Stan is the only one who doesn't have wings since they were taken from him to pay some of his debt during his 10 years on the ride. Most people think he just hides his wings.
The Twins, Soos, and Wendy knows he doesn't have wings since he wears a white tank top in the shack when his not working and they can tell he doesn't have wings. When asked, he just lies about it. When Ford comes back his wings are hidden within his coats to keep them safe. He'll still hide them within his coat out of habit which is why during Weirdmageddon Stan was able to still impersonate Ford.
Ford has showed his wings to the twins when asked since they were curious about them and how they looked. Maybe Stan tries to hide the fact he doesn't have wings, maybe asking the others not to tell Ford.
Does anyone else think about Stanley Pines in the red heels that Mabel gifted him during the Fight Fighters episode?
You canāt go to a 70s-themed disco bash at the Shack without a vintage 70s shirt and a gold chain.
Cringetober Day 9: Rarepair
Fiddleford has no strength and Stanley is all bronze
Sometimes i look at the world and remember why most of what i look at on the internet is gravity falls fanfic. Goddamn everything is on fire, but at least we have scientists with npd and evil gay triangles and old men punching the shit out of anything that threatens their families and redemption arc aus and hurt no comfort and mullet stan doodles and fanmade ocs and salamander deities and weird books
Every younger sibling I know feels like they canāt do the older siblingās āthingā. Older sibling is a soccer player? Canāt do that! Older sibling is a computer geek? Computers are now impossibly confusing. Older sibling likes star wars? Your only two options are star trek or to forgo science fiction altogether. I donāt know why this is the case but my guess is so that the younger siblingās successes canāt be directly compared to the older oneās, which will probably be better because theyāve done it longer.
Now, I know Stan and Ford are twins and thus the same age. But I think something similar applies here: Stan couldnāt be a nerd because Ford got the title first. So he didnāt even try. Ford would always be smarter, so he embraced his other skills (of physical prowess and later scamming).
In order to rebuild the portal, Stan not only had to process his grief and guilt enough to do things, but also get over the feeling that math was āFordās thingā that he was ātaking overā. He had to get over the āFordās the smart oneā rhetoric. Stan gets way too little credit in the fandom for what he managed to pull off to bring Ford back, both mathematically/mentally, and emotionally.
lol
The Stanley Parable (2013)
So none of the humans in Gravity Falls noticed when Ford was replaced by his twin, which makes sense, he was a recluse in the woods who probably only infrequently came into town for coffee or groceries. And also a secret mind-wiping cult was on the loose.
But as reclusive as he was around the humans, he got VERY social with the local supernatural entities. He raised a shapeshifter, he kept a gnome in a cage, he yelled at Steve with a megaphone. The local paranormal community was probably very familiar with the excited six-fingered human who traipsed around the woods conducting interviews and taking notes.
So, what did they think when he suddenly vanished, to be replaced by a five-fingered con artist who completely ignored the supernatural entities and began bringing humans around the shack?
I propose this:
None of the supernatural entities realized that he's Ford's twin.
They assume that as part of Ford's studies, he summoned up his own evil doppelgƤnger, and it killed him and took over his life. As doppelgƤngers are wont to do.
Which makes Stan a member of the paranormal community in their eyes; but if he'd rather try to blend in among the humans, hey, that's his business. They just won't send him invites to the town's magical meet-ups. He is, after all, an EVIL doppelgƤnger.
E WTF IM LITERALLY GONNA CRY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
E. THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN FOR THE STAN FUCKING DIES TO THE MEMORY GUN AU (very succinct i know) HAVE ME IN A GODDAMN CHOKEHOLD. HOW DID YOU MAKE "YOU'RE OUR HERO STANLEY" EVEN SADDER????? ford saying that to stan as he's dying is SO. OUHHHHHHHHVGGHHGHHGG. i need to take a walk. š
Hello. I hope you're back from your walk because I'm about to hit you again.
I tried to make it come across in the story (idk if I did that well enough) but after Ford fires the memory gun, Stan doesn't die RIGHT AWAY.
The human brain is kinda. Squishy. And there's a level of disconnect between the brain and the body. It's been hypothesized that human death takes a LOT LONGER than we think, hence why people can be "dead" for minutes at a time and seemingly come back to life with no real explanation. But brain death has pretty much been agreed to be the end all of death, give or take the 7 minutes theory (which you all should go Google, that shit is WILD)
Basically, Ford straight up killed his brother with the memory gun. Yanked the memories (and the funtion) straight out of Stan's brain, which shut it down.
The memory gun was so invasive that it made Stan's brain forget how to be a brain. It no longer functioned, at all.
Without a brain telling them what to do, the heart and lungs sort of just. Stopped. Working all together. No lungs means no oxygen, so Stan's brain kind of just suffocated and died.
Now TRADITIONALLY, this process would have probably taken like. The three minutes it took for the air in Stan's lungs to run out, the minute or so when his body went "AW FUCK THE AIR" but didn't (couldnt) do anything because the brain is mush, and then another six or seven minutes where the brain suffocated and hemorrhaged and the heart stopped.
Don't quote me on this, I'm not a doctor.
All of this to say, Stan was alive, but not breathing, for a few minutes after the first impact of the memory gun, which gave enough time for A, Bill Cipher to kick it (he's DEAD NOW WHOOO VICTORY) and for the world to put itself back together again.
It also gave his brain enough time to take in the smallest input, mainly, to allow Stan in his last moments to be aware of Ford speaking, calling, and then shaking him, trying to shake him away, trying to wake him up. Trying to get him to breathe.
But the brain is gone. It's mush, up and went kaput. And Ford would have realized this, probably quickly.
There's not. Really anything to do here. Theres no wound to mend, no cpr is going to work, no amount of electricity can make Stan's heart work again if the brain is gone. If they'd have gotten to a hospital fast enough to get Stan on life support, the hospital would have declared him brain dead anyway.
There's nothing to do here.
So Ford holds his brother. Squeezes, and tries to come up with something on the spot, something that Stan might understand, just a little bit.
"You're our hero, Stanley."
So Stan, drifting out as his spirit is plucked from his body, hears that, but he doesn't know what it means. It isn't until later that he hears it again, that he understands.
Also, side note! The reason Ford doesn't see this memory (and thus believes Stan's last moments were full of fear) is because this happens AFTER the memory gun is shot. This is a memory Stan remembers all on his own, and it helps him remember EVERYTHING.
Im not going to regaile you with what I think Stan's funeral was like (that might be TOO sad, even for me to do that to you) but i think its important to add that Stan's death was painless.
Utterly, and completely. His last moments, his exact last moments, with Ford holding him, were comfortable. If you were to ask Stan, saving the world and then dying, at home, is exactly where he would have wanted to be.
I made some fanart for @thenoellebird's little one shot from yesterday, A Big Pink Axolotl Once Told Me... because ITS SO GOOD!!!! I hope you like it!

This is my take on it: Bill shoots Stan instead of Ford.
