Curate, connect, and discover
This reminds me of the part in book 11 when Camicazi says she's in need of exercise and Fishlegs says "this is not some Viking version of girls get fit" idk if girls get fit is a show or one of those dumbass weight loss DVDs for 7 year olds or just some random yoga class but it feels a little future reference to me.
Flipping through book 1 again and discovering

What was the best book in your opinion?
please please down on my knees does anyone want to talk about the httyd books everyone ik is getting sick of me talking to them about it omg
Sometimes it feels like Tuffnut is just there to keep the same ludicrous energy the books had and I absolutely love him for it
I think this is THE httyd book drawing
yes this is “the trio hold hands” propaganda what if it
I sobbed when I finished the books because it meant I could never read them for the first time again and be excited and shocked by all the plot twists
i think it’s so funny whenever i see someone on the httyd books tag asking ‘hey guys do u think i should read the series ?? i heard it’s different from the film… is it worth it ???’ and… well yes! the answer will always be yes — if u needed a sign to read the series it’s this post i promise that book hiccup’s journey to his destiny will fundamentally change something forever in ur brain chemistry
I feel kinda bad for Hiccup Horrendous Haddock II.
Imagine being a baby and having someone decide you're worthless before you can even prove to be something of importance. Being a baby on a cold mountainside just sitting in a basket in the snow with the fate of freezing to death, starving or being eaten by dragons.
And then when his dad finally does find him and take him back he's kind of outcasted from society cus he considers himself a dragon. He was raised to behave like a wild animal and speak Dragonese and then he was put in a society he'd never been apart of, a d kicked out and shamed the moment he entered it. And then not understanding what's going on or what he's meant to do because he's never been in that environment before.
And then having a brother so cruel that he tolled his father he was planning to kill him. Then his father murdered him for the sake of keeping the throne and only then did he realise he was an awful person because he killed his son even though his son was just trying to do the right thing.
I think Fishlegs parallels pretty well with Hiccup Horrendous Haddock II because Fishlegs was also kicked from his tribe and then when he finally came back he didn't understand that he wasn't welcome anymore. Not to mention he was raised by himself as an orphan, sent out to sea to drown as a literal infant, raised in an unaccepting, unbearable environment where he was mistreated so much he isolated himself in his hut for the first 10 years of his life.
