“1,2,3.. stop!” the man, in his mid-twenties and ginger hair, which is the only color he stuck to for about 4 months straight now, practically yells into his mic.
“Jungkook you actually have to lock in, mate. This is not doing you any good, y’know.”
“You can clearly see I’m fucking trying, Jimin. I told you I needed to step out like right now, we’ve been at this for hours.”
Jeon Jungkook. Lead drummer, easily a handsome lad who could be mistaken for a very successful celebrity. He’s got that aura, the charm to waddle into the hearts of numerous girls and guys alike, just like he does at those tiny desk concerts— the original miniature set-ups with a lot of sweaty bodies and headbanging.
The raw stuff. Pure music. Flatlining passion.
“ ‘kay just go take a drag or something, but remember, return back by 7. Or I’m actually going to go hunt for someone else with no hard feelings.” Jimin passes on a complacent grin to which Jungkook rolls his eyes, he knows the latter cannot evade the decade long friendship they shared, nonetheless.
Jungkook walks over to the wooden door of the cramped studio where the duo was practicing, and since this very day consisted of rumbled musings and adjusting tones of the new release because the other members of “Seom” haven’t shown up and Jimin could only get hold of his dear brother to pour sweat into the new album along with him.
“Seom”— island in Korean, grounded the boys to their Southern roots, and tied them to the strings of reverberating music, just like how water expands and ripples around an island. It was mostly Jimin’s idea, to which Jungkook agreed immediately as he wanted their essence to be a part of this whole game.
Ping.
Classic notification beep. The message is far from the “class”, however.
[shortcake] 5.57pm fuck you.
Oh he wishes. Start of the day so hellish all he wanted to do was be balls deep inside you.
He shifts, leaning against the tattered door frame, locking his phone, shutting out the cascade of profanities filling up in your chat. The blob of silence that followed seemed to dissolve into thin air as a puff of smoke hindered his obscure view of people bustling about through the narrow alley.
Utter contrast to where he met you for the first time.
Back to : 6 months ago.
Jungkook wisely controlled the awe-filled sounds that threatened to leave his mouth, while Jimin and Hyunjin on the other hand, straight up wow-ed at the dazzle of golden chandeliers, polite service of umpteen number of waiters and waitresses catering to every other person, cold air that refreshed the scorching heat outside this magnificent yacht as soon as their lot entered the foyer.
“We’re looking for Conference Room 3” Jungkook referred to his emails before making a request at the reception, tapping his fingers on the crafted marble desk and adjusting the instruments on his shoulders.
In the meantime he luckily notices Hyunjin slide to the left, initiating loose talk with the other receptionist, thus pulling him by the collar to the latter’s unpleasant surprise.
“I was just shootin a shot, okay?” His lack of understanding was not the mood, especially for today.
They must remain composed and professional until the band’s first official performance for a crowd with more than a 100 people came to a successful end.
There was barely time for aimless flirting and fun. This was the foremost opportunity to grab a place and set the stone for Seom.
Hundred, however, is more than a few for a birthday party. But what more could be expected from a full-fledged family of chaebols.
“We don’t have much time, but Kook, you need to brush up a few beats before the stage. I’ll go ahead with Hyun to get the set done by then.” Jimin unpacked his guitar set and signaled Hyunjin to follow him outside to the stage area.
Finally done setting up the drums and arranging the kit, Jungkook tests it for a few beats, before flipping through the music book for a brief second to make final touches.
Click.
The door unlocks and closes, assuming it’s Jimin and Hyunjin, he continues to maneuver the stick through the booming plates of the drum.
“Y’all back already? They set up the stage for us too or did something fancy?” He passes a casual joke, unbeknownst of the fact that you were on the receiving end.
“That was quite a faulty pun, Jungkook Jeon?”
You read off of the rear of his chair that had his name on it for identification.
Perched on a personalized chair paired with such a comment rolling out so smartly didn’t sound as cute to you.
His head whipped and almost cracked, turning around at the words that flowed so elegantly, as opposed to what he was expecting.
Hands folded against your chest, slightly bunching up the fabric of the baby pink satin body-con hugging your well-built figure, doing a bad job at leaving much to one’s imagination, especially with the thin straps as sleeves.
Composed. Professional. He reminded himself.
Having seen you during the meeting where Seom was selected to set sail and perform at your birthday bash, he deemed you as a handful when you chanted numerous details into your dad’s ears and when you disagreed with most of the proposals they had for the final track list. As mentioned, fancy was the alternate last name for the Choi family.
He could deal a handful.
Or so he thought.
The damn look in your eyes. It propelled him forward, leaving the wooden seat behind, walking towards you ever so slowly but steadily.
“Careful, pink princess. Your dress boutta get messed up, don’t want those personal butlers to curse at you.”
The corners of your lips twitch ever so testingly. As if a single smile could give it all away.
“Were you playing ‘Heartbreak Warfare’? Thought we finalized the track list accordingly.”
You briefly look around the dingy room with dim lights and concrete walls, unpainted— fit to be a green room, he watches you closely.
Fairly enough, it was an embarrassing accident you wouldn’t admit. The yacht was genuinely too sophisticated and you lost your way to the ladies’ room.
Coincidentally, you hear your favourite song being played live on the drums from a nearby room titled “Staff Only.” No one could stop you from entering anywhere around on the yacht your dad booked for the big day. 21st birthday bash. And you knew you had everyone wrapped around a pinky.
With him, though? You don’t know.
Don’t know why a look at his face, seconds ago screamed “Not today.”
His smirk yelling at your senses to keep your power to yourself.
And his unfiltered comment at the beginning? Perfect starter.
You, nonetheless, took pride in your ability to bring what you craved for, at your fucking feet. Only, this one would take a lot more solo effort.
Consider it done because— goddamn was he a man. Sleeveless tank-top hugging his miniature waist ever so tightly, projecting whatever toned muscle that hid beneath, tattoos twirling around his left arm.
“Lined up our songs for princess’ birthday while she shares pretty strawberry cake with her friends.”
He leans on the backrest of the chair, with his name printed across a piece of white paper, tainting your eyes with dripping taunt.
“Can’t wait to hear it.” You spit, but surely you wanted to explore their band and music.
“Would you give me some cake too, huh?” He slips the mockery in every fucking word with practiced ease, just like how he handles those drums.
“That doesn’t explain you playing ‘Heartbreak Warfare’.” You clawed at the previous question, ignoring the sly ask, genuinely curious as to why he chose that particular song minutes before an actual performance.
“Why, favorite?” He muses, flipping the book to a certain page yet again, positioning himself in front of the instrument.
“None of your business. Can you play it again?” Latter part of the sentence ever so feebly and hesitantly left your mouth as if it was tightly wound against your vocal chords, barely finding strength to be pushed out as a request.
A wish. One that you don’t know— for the first time— would be granted. Having everything served on a platter from Day 1, this is a new deal for you. The doubt, the anticipation felt confusing to say the least.
Seeing him steer through the papers and almost giving in to what you said, it seemed like a win.
Until it wasn’t.
“Afraid not, it’s my cue to be back on stage. That was my warmup song and I’m done.”
He sits forward, actions biting back on his words, as he looks least interested in hurrying to “be back on stage.”
“You’re literally performing for my party. It’s my crowd out there and they’d be forgiving if a drummer’s late.” Diving head first into this pointless banter was never on your agenda for today.
“Feeling entitled much?” He seemed calm, fidgeting around to pack up necessities.
“Says the one who’s owning that little wooden chair with his name on it like a throne.”
You were done. All restraints broke, a spiteful remark was nothing. None. Nada.
To your utter disbelief, it actually did nothing to him.
Jungkook finally got up from the damned chair, moving towards you and painfully looking into your eyes before gracing your ears with his raspy, raspy voice.
“Too bad, I do own my name. My own name. It’s my only throne.”
You weren’t stupid to miss the disdain laced stress on that particular word. Like he was throwing daggers at you.
Tongue poking behind the smooth walls of your cheek, you watch him fucking leave.
His resistance to you was instantly delicious.
Were you crazy for wanting him to be completely into you? Forget the back and forth and fall face first into the waters from a height to test your limits, when all you loved and have ever experienced was a cozy, elevating and classy cold plunge.
___
“Yeah, wine’ll do for today. You don’t wanna get too drunk.”
You nudge at Jessi, best friend, ride or die, whatever. Having known her since private kindergarten —the ones where a couple of selected children get tutored alone unlike the actual ones— she’s been a tad bit crazy, especially with alcohol and parties, as you grew up together.
“Why, you planning to get wasted and use me as your chauffeur because you can’t get your dad’s car sent?” She deadpanned, adjusting the MiuMiu purse that clung around perfectly on her honey skin.
“Spot on.” You squint your eyes at her, ridiculing, as you walk towards the venue.
“Look at herr!” Taehyung hoots in glee as you enter through the grand doors, starting a poor rendition of “It’s your birthday” as he pulls you by the hand, into the chaos.
Taehyung was the unavoidable guest at any party. He brings life with him, even if it mostly makes you question the invite.
“Guess what flavour of cake i got for your special dayy-“
Taehyung’s words blurred into the horizon as you were consumed by certain thoughts.
Kim Taehyung was no one distinct, just another man from your dad’s friends’ family who owned a bunch of inherited businesses like most of the people present in the party today.
Except the ones on stage.
The one, among them.
His name never left your mind, unusually so, because you don’t hold on.
Don’t build connections, never chain the beads of relationships with bare hands.
It always came with something.
But him?
A puzzling, faint secret.
Jeon Jungkook.
“Stop avoiding me just because I ordered strawberry shortcake, I wanted to give the new bakery a try too, now c’mon and clink clink bitch.” Tae was already tipsy and it was-
What did he just say?
“You’ve got to be kidding me, Kim fucking Taehyung. You literally took freedom for granted.” You shoot a sharp look at his red face, snapping back from the trance, but he just pouted in response.
“My bad I let you buy the damn cake, asshole.” You watch him pay no heed to you, going back to being an utmost social butterfly.
Everyone applause.
Birthdays were not supposed to be this humiliating.
“Lined up our songs for princess’ birthday while she shares strawberry cake with her friends.”
You recall Jungkook’s words and everything and beyond you want right now would be the ability to sink into the fucking ground.
Courtesy : Kim Taehyung because he literally made way for Jungkook’s assumptions to come to life.
He didn’t have to be so lively, y’know.
“I need another cake there, in 5 minutes.” You whisper to Jessi, but she didn’t seem to notice, eyes glued to the train of texts being exchanged with her boyfriend.
___
21 wasn’t supposed to be as humbling.
The 20 somethings were to be full of cruises through picturesque islands and a possible girls’ trip if Jessi was into it. She’d be, but you wanted it to be a bit more relentless and intriguing.
You wanted to explore.
Maybe your wish was granted— partly— earlier than you’d please.
“Seom” as you learnt from their introduction was nothing less than a fucking wave. One to explore. To indulge in, especially the lead drummer.
Even if you’d hesitate to admit, seeing Jungkook go all out on the drums, setting a bar so high and then hitting the lows before springing back up with just the taps of two sticks and a determined mind, he looked insane.
Sweat clinged onto his forehead, wispy stray hair falling to the sides and god the tank top.
One that didn’t go unnoticed by you during the backstage shenanigans.
The music ends with thunderous applause from the audience, and you see Jungkook reach for the mic from Jimin, clearing his throat into it before speaking.
“We really enjoyed performing here today, but there’s a special ending note I’d like to play.” He signals for the others to exit the stage, claiming it alone with undeniable presence, blasting a beat into the speakers with those damn skilled fingers.
He was playing the background score of “Heartbreak Warfare.”
You weren’t exactly subtle with the reactions, eyes widening as the tune grew familiar.
“He’s so fucking good at this,” Taehyung slurred from behind. “But missing only one thing.”
“— a grammy nomination.” The man looked so proud of his witticism.
His luck, you were too engrossed in how Jungkook completed the rendition with absolute perfection, doing justice to every single nuance of your favorite song.
“Do we have any of the strawberry cake left?” Your unhinged doubt in the middle of the performance— consuming the premise, and people— makes Jessi chuckle from behind.
“Weren’t you the one who made me go place an order for another one? We literally cut the chocolate cake I had to run last minute for, and this boy is damn upset.” She points at Tae, who was mindlessly chugging another shot of his alcohol, looking farthest from upset.
“___, we’re going to the dance floor now, c’mon” Taehyung started testing the material of your dress between his sloppy fingers, trying to grab your attention like a carefree kid.
“Can you ask them to send a piece over to Seom’s green room? Meet me at the dance floor after.” Running a hand through well-set hair, you look back again— eyes catching sight of his unrelenting drive towards music that almost topples you over on those fucking louboutins— before catching up with Taehyung’s jittery steps towards the party room next door.
Jessi was cent percent sure you were on to something.
Because, one piece of cake for 3— math wasn’t tallying up right.
And you taking personal interest to have it delivered?
Weird.
__
his pov.
The trio stands around the now droopy cold, untouched piece of sweet goodness dressed in baby pink icing, as if it was about to be convicted in court.
“Whoever sent it in, they could’ve packed three more.” Jimin sulks, as if more pieces somehow equals to finding whoever this anonymous confectioner is.
“But we’re only 3 people and one’s here already, dumbass.” Hyunjin analyses the situation as though satisfying their sweet tooth is the only problem here.
“An extra piece wouldn’t hurt you right?”
The trial about a damn piece of strawberry shortcake ceased abruptly, hanging over the edge through Jimin’s harmless remark.
However, someone in the room seems to have attained enlightenment— precisely not so— because he was praying, hoping to whatever higher power that it wouldn’t be what he thought it was.
The conclusion was inevitable.
“I’ll be back.” Lead drummer, guides his own way to the adjacent ballroom.
It wasn’t some sort of cinematic appearance— he didn’t enter in as the prince who aimed to claim his princess.
He was a walking mess. Like a literal strained bunch of bafflement.
At your fucking audacity.
Like you were mocking his service. His team’s hard work.
There was no way to sugarcoat it.
You were being an asshole.
And just like a rifle zeroes in on its target, Jungkook’s gaze pinpoints yours among the sea of people. He moves further, a mild hurry outlining his steps through a bunch of sweaty bodies mixed with the expensive scent, lingering on, making it easier to distinguish the crowd as ones from high-end families.
He remains aware of the surroundings— the lap of luxury sprawled out and highlighted each speck of dust around— even in the air.
Nevertheless, that was gotten rid of.
His presence of mind packs a suitcase and makes a bolt out of its abode, as soon as your eyes meet his.
As if an urgent sense of victory ziplined through, he watches you slowly bite your lip, trying to hide a smile.
Not the one that looked like a perfect crescent moon, one that radiates joy, though. Yours was synonymous to that of a fucking Cheshire Cat on a mission.
“Knew you’d come.” Your red glossy lips mouth, and he caught it amongst all.
Jungkook was furious, but he was dissolving.
It was as if an imaginary string connected the both of your bodies, the pull growing stronger by the minute.
Slow and steady, wins the race.
But his libido takes over, avoiding all the speed bumps.
And then he realized. As if it wasn’t so obvious.
He wanted you.
However, you didn’t have to know that.
___
If it was the Jungkook 30 minutes ago —who fired up from backstage to ballroom in less than 2 strides to catch hold of the fucking menace of a woman for trying to deride his performance— he would’ve laughed at the face of anyone who tried to tell him, that he was holding that very woman by the waist in the middle of a dance.
Breath.
“Your heels are about to punch a hole in my feet.” He shifts you forward so swiftly with one hand on your waist, legs finally coming alive again after 2 minutes of torturous dancing.
“Tryna hold you together, if you fall apart. I can distinguish between a good dancer and a bad one, y’know.”
“I’m gonna leave if you keep running that mouth of yours.” He whisper-yells into your ears, above the 165 bpm party music.
His jaw twitches at the reason he’s still anchored in the same spot.
Another request. One that took flight way easier than the previous one. Your pretty mouth asked for help.
“Don’t wanna look alone in my own party. Dance?” You had asked, peeking at his anger infused red eyes 30 minutes ago, through your angel-like lashes, which had him expressing distaste, but quickly securing him behind you.
Ass pressed up against his crotch, he knew you were testing his boundaries. He knew you were careful, measured, as your hands rhythmically made its way around his neck, adhering to the beat.
His hands still around the small of your back— unsure if it was to steady you or himself.
Minx.
His hands find solace in your swaying hips, pushing you forward, trying to maintain distance.
Because this was supposed to be a nice gesture. An act of goodwill so a girl won’t feel alone on her birthday.
Why the fuck was he sporting a semi?
“You’re enjoying this too much aren’t you, shortcake?”
This time, he didn’t have to push you away.
You sprang off, akin to how the like-poles of magnets repel.
“The fuck did you just call me?” You had to yell, some of the drunk dancers sending weird glances.
“Isn’t this what you wanted? You pulled that act to-”
“Shut the fuck up.” You whisper, moving closer to his ears, dragging him out, swerving through to the common restroom.
____
your pov.
“What’s all this, __?” The sudden silence echoes his deep voice throughout the entire place, making you dizzy at its amplification as opposed to the hushed noises coming from outside.
“Huh?” You pant a little, looking up at him yet again with those eyes.
He hoists you up, cold marble coming in contact with your supple, exposed thighs making you wince in the faintest voice.
“What do you think you’re doing, ___?”
His face is dangerously close. Breaths colliding.
“You played it for me, Jungkook.”
“What?”
“Thank you.”
“You’re kidding me, shortcake.”
He jerks back, hands placed on the table, caging you in them but it wasn’t enough.
Jungkook’s head falls next to your shoulder, barely touching as his eyes remain closed throughout.
“There’s nothing I’m joking about here, Jungkook.”
He slightly looks up, still hesitant to catch your eyes.
“I think the fuck yes. You’ve been diminishing my presence the entire night, and that whole cake situation felt embarrassing, __. In front of my fucking bandmates, I felt like nothing.”
His head falls again, as if some inner beast caught his breath, sighing.
“I don’t see a reason for that.” You shrug, in genuine confusion this time.
“Yeah you wouldn’t. Because I made the mistake of agreeing to perform here, when Jimin and Hyunjin clearly had no reason to.”
“Is it ‘cause you owe my dad?” A sly smirk creeps up into your lips, as Jungkook finds it in himself again to look at you.
“Do I have a fucking choice?”
“You should’ve thought before wandering into our territory, asking for help.” You swing your legs, still on top of the restroom table like you’re on some play-date, enjoying ice cream on a sunny Saturday.
“I needed it for survival. Seom was falling apart, and we really required that sum of money. And oh, you’re talking about Mr. Choi, the ever so generous man, huh? Your dad has put me through it even if I was a minute late to pay him back each month.”
“I can help.”
You offer. Simple, cut through. It was always the simplest of suggestions that seemed like the end of the world.
“You? You’re holding on by a thread to your family, but except your thread— it’s made of money. Mine isn’t.”
“Bingo.”
Oh.
“Be with me for a month and I’ll help you relieve some stress. Know you need it. In return,”
You pause, meandering your vision to his, watching his expressions twist, lightly.
“I’ll tell dad about your situation.” This was your cue to pull him closer by the ends of his tank top.
“Best believe, you think I’d be on my knees, accepting your offer right now” He tears himself apart, now fully on two feet, the distance between your bodies increasing.
"Remember the name you own that you boasted about, back there? Don't forget about the price you have to pay my dad, to uphold it." Laid-back, pausing for a moment, you could feel the gears turning in his head, back facing your frame now.
“There’s only one exit, to every entrance.” You say, as he was headed for the door, coming down from the table, you had your hands folded, yet again.
Always the same.
The sound of his resolve snapping, was another alarming echo, as two worlds collided.
It was the answer to your proposal.
His lips taste like unadulterated need. Those roamed around yours, in a hurry, like a telltale of passion. He occasionally presses your foreheads together, taking as much as he wants before dipping in again.
There you knew.
This was about to turn into a constant cycle. An endless war against sanity.
You, him— one heated glance, two bodies meeting to fight it.
____
Present.
his pov.
It feels quite deranged to think about.
Approximately a year ago when Seom was in the trenches, Jungkook, unbeknownst to his bandmates, found himself in front of Choi Enterprises. Even though the sum he got from your dad was useful in a way, it was hell to pay off. He handled it all alone, and wanted it to be a secret deal.
He still remembers that day, where you sat in front of him, flaunting the information like it bothers you.
He still remembers the way you thanked him.
Two simple, simple words. The ones that were taught as basic manners in school, ones which are usually ignored.
Two words he never saw coming his way, even with years of hard work and struggle, living in small dorms and surviving off of convenience store food for a dream.
No one ever appreciated him, except the person who he least thought would.
“Thank you.”
It held the fucking weight of the world when you elicited it from your posh voice.
It took him here. Landed into this mutual succour, drove him into the heights of insanity, shared nights and whatever remnants of passion he had.
It's been six months and a few.
Yet here he is, still tangled up in need for you.
You asked him for a month, but that was just a feeble fabric to mask how you both just wanted to have a good fuck after everything going on in your lives, seeking whatever you missed.
However, Seom was on its success grind. After the storm of hardships, you did keep your promise. Continuous shows, a few sponsorships.
There were clear boundaries in this mad game of push and pull.
It always remained a casual fuck, right after his gigs or sometimes in the closed walls of your luxurious penthouse that he thought he’d never see.
Because, you were mostly travelling, going on trips with god knows who.
He finds himself concerned about your company to these getaways, more than you’d given him the right for.
He opens up his messaging app again, briefly glancing at the time before opening your chats.
Finally.
Three dots appear, leave for a minute— not to be mistaken— as it comes back again with a bang, bringing in hot trails of new messages.
It was as if you were waiting for him to see your previous string of profanities.
[shortcake] 6:10 pm Asshole, where the fuck are you? [shortcake] 6:10 pm It’s been a week, Jungkook. Send me your location or you know I have my ways.
[jungkook] 6:11 pm I’m at the studio. Come to my room, behind. You know it.
He wondered why you didn’t bother checking in for a week, and clearly popped out of nowhere.
It’s just a casual hook-up with a rich girl who helps, sometimes. Who’s a menace, mostly.
He reminds himself, yet again.
Reality is so fucked up.
___
your pov.
You barge into the small practice room, a sense of knowing wrapping around you, ‘cause you’ve fucked almost everywhere at this point. It’s filthy, but it somehow keeps you together.
There was not a living soul here.
Huh.
“Shortcake?”
Honey coated voice— the one you hadn't heard for almost a week— engulfs you, heating you up like molten lava.
You simply walk over, throwing your bag on his couch, now acting as if the entire place’s yours, before piercing on the stool behind the drums.
“Where were you?” He casually sets up the aircon, closing the door as if he knew what’d happen any moment from now.
“Not your business. But guess.” You extend your hands, flaunting a set of rings made of sea-shells.
“Maldives? You went on tour again?” He asks, placing your tender fingers on his, examining the rings before abruptly taking them off.
“The fuck are you doing?!” You round up, trying to get hold of one of your favorite pieces.
“This’d look good in our studio. We’re sea themed, and I’m starting to think you got these for me.”
“You fucking wish, Jeon. Give. them. back.” You try to reach for his hands behind his back, slightly urging the both of you to the walls behind, but he wouldn't budge.
And then he does.
He turns around, crashing his lips on yours in a frantic kiss, pushing you against the walls, hands still holding your rings behind his back. Clutching together.
Your hands free run to his face, bringing him impossibly closer.
Somehow, his lips roaming around yours, pacing back and forth between consuming your edged gasps, felt like the end of something.
You can’t pinpoint what, though.
Standing tall, head straight to catch a breath, he throws your damned rings off.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Especially when you have him, diving down again to catch your lips in his, running tongue through its seams, ever so furiously.
“Fuck, you’re even better after each trip, __.”
The contempt tastes bitter on your freshly patched up lips.
You knew he didn't mean that.
Last week, before Maldives, you parted ways after a fiery argument about your 'big girl adventures' like he called them.
All it took was you to post a picture with your dad's friend's son, Minho.
He’s about to kiss you again, when those freshly done nails of yours press lightly against his chest, halting the actions.
“Go sit there for me, Jungkook.” You muse into his ears, pointing at the stool behind his instrument.
“Why do you have such a thing for those drums? Hm, shortcake?" His demeanor seemed out of track, eyes blazing into yours.
He’s always been vocal about what he wanted, the clear boundaries and whatnot. But today was in your hands.
You pull him forward, pushing his chest, forcefully getting him to sit on that little chair.
And the next thing you do, takes his breath away. Snatches it, visibly.
You sit on his lap, legs wrapping ‘round his torso— his hands instinctively moving to your hips, holding you in place.
“Your hair has grown so much, kook.” You scramble about, untying your own silky locks that cascade down, bringing the piece of hair tie to his wavy ones that fell ever so prettily over his forehead, arching your chest into his face in the process of crafting a man bun.
You could figure out his fucked up state under you, but the coherence lasts no longer than a second as his mouth envelopes your hardened nipples, from over your flimsy skims top, the friction sending a zap of electricity through you.
“Wearing nothing underneath, you’re always so planned, huh?”
He goes back, trailing slight kisses around your smooth, buttered up neck, grazing the one spot he knew would send you in spirals, as soon as you finish tying his hair up.
“Uh-huh, wanna see you.” You bring him up, his forehead displayed, skin shining under the lights that illuminate the room.
“Hmm, proud of myself.” You grin, as he pushes you forward, hastily, that makes you helplessly choke out a moan.
Because, he’s already hard, and amidst all of this, you’d almost forgotten the purpose of this visit.
“Show me more things that you’d be proud of, shortcake.”
He guides you again, folds delicately parting at the feeling of his hard on, hidden behind the slacks.
Stupid pants.
“Off. I need these off.” He lets you pull down the sweats, catching you off guard after, by stopping you with a grip on the wrists.
“Don’t have much time. Just— fuck— just sit on me, okay?”
Oh.
You inch forth, capturing the supple skin of his neck, sucking on it gently, and you swear he elicits a deep guttural sound that you’re so used to, but he pulls you back by the forearm, halting your actions.
“What is it now?” You roll your eyes, clearly tired of the way he stops you at every fucking step.
“Don’t leave marks, __. I’m serious.” His eyes mirror red-hot warning, which provoked your otherwise vague intentions of actually giving him a hickey.
But all you do is move on his growing hard-on, desperately, because,
Fuck trying to work him up when you can clearly see him snaking into your arms, your actions.
His hands fly to your hips, holding them against his own yet again as you set a rhythm with this entire thing, whatever the fuck it was— it was sure getting him riled up beneath you.
“Fuck, yes- sshit- just like that, shortcake.” He groans into your ears, hands frantically tugging down the white skims top to finally reveal your bosoms. He presses a light kiss to the very ends of your nipples that pebbles under the cold air of the room, making you hiss into his ears at the sensation, head falling back as your torso never fails to ride into his.
You could see how close he was, with just a look at his outline pressing ever so deliciously into the tight Calvin Klein's you were sitting on— claiming as yours with every stroke of friction felt in between your thighs.
“Just fucking want my- goddamn- performance to get over so that I can fuck you backstage, angel.”
Your stomach tightens at the idea, strings of what could be his name, and a few profanities slipping out of your mouth.
“You want someone to catch us, don’t you?” His doe eyes look up at your figure on his, and you just dip down in response, sucking on his neck again, purposefully leaving a dark, purple mark on it.
Maybe, you wanna see him mad.
“Fuck, __. You can never stop being a brat and listen to me for once.” You were achingly close to snapping that knot coiling in the pit of your stomach, the traction from the rough fabric of his boxers giving you life, just about to send you over the peak.
But he just— as cruelly yanks you off his lap.
“Down. On your knees now.” He gets up, pulling his tee away from his body with just one hand.
This shouldn’t be turning you on.
But it was, so you do.
Drop down on your knees, behind the fucking drums, your frame hidden behind.
The thought of someone barging in at the sight of Jungkook and you behind, seemed so enticing to you, but it vanishes as soon as it takes form, when the man right in front of you, grabs your open hair tightly in a pony-tail, before you could even pull them boxers down and take him in your grip.
“You’re not gonna utter a word, and do as I say.”
You look at him through lidded eyes, too far gone to even retort now.
“Use your mouth, __.” He spills out your full name, and that means it's done. Your part is over.
“Yes.” You state simply, his face contorting in amusement, before pulling his boxers down just enough for his fully hard cock to come up.
However, he was wrong, in thinking he had the full advantage of being the upper hand.
“What happened to having no time, baby?” You huff, too fast to let him catch the tone, before taking his tip in your glossy mouth, and all that came out from him in response was a lucid groan.
You knew he wanted to curse at you, sputter pure despise at your audacity to ignore his words.
Best part is, you also knew what your mouth did to him.
Something that sounded like a hushed out moan rumbled out of him, as he pulled your hair, guiding you well.
“Fuck, you love taking me, don’t you? Filthy girl doing so well for me.” He seems to have entirely forgotten your words amidst the mirage of pleasure your mouth enveloped him in.
“Can you look at me, __?” He sputters, hands hovering over your glossy cheeks, hollowed out around his cock.
He lets go of your hair, brushing it to the side and tucking it behind your ears, the blazing pull that burnt your scalp deliciously all along, finally coming to rest.
His voice was gentle, the one you could feel everywhere, so you continued, without adhering to his wish.
Because, you were taken aback by the soft call.
Terrified.
What happened to the harsh monotony he put through minutes ago?
The sting on your scalp hasn't fully died out, yet.
How the hell did things transition so quickly?
Like he had a mid-sex awakening, purely due to some blood flow issues?
Hormones?
Focus, __. Your hands presses on the muscular flesh of his upper thigh, as movements grow confident around his cock, slightly stroking the base with your fingers now and then, teasing, the jerk of his hips against you so sudden, you mumble a hushed fuck that travels all the way up his breaking point.
“Yyes- ffuck- shortcake do you not hear me? Look up at me, __.” He forces your chin up, as your eyes follow his face, contorting in gleaming pleasure.
“You’re so f- pretty nghh-” Those sounds. Desperate and splintered.
“I’m c- god fuck, where do y’want me, shortcake nghh-” He makes the prettiest sounds, sure, but you were still dazed.
“Wherever.” Your blunt response caught him off-guard, as he slowly pulled out, his own hands taking over, desperately and rushed.
“I’m- fu- shortcake, you’re gonna be the end- ssshit- of me” He snaps, like its been forever, cumming so fucking hard, as it leaks onto your chin that he’s still got a hold of.
At one point, he’s gasping, panting, riding his high like it’s the last time, stamina completely thrown off.
But the next minute, his hands are on your forearms, nudging you up, manhandling, imposing, lifting you up by the waist with the ease of his tatted arms, onto his drums.
Your ass presses far too much onto the rim of the drum pad, its nuances nudging your soft flesh as he clings his body onto yours.
“What the fuck was the attitude you gave me, __?” He rasps, bold and unrelenting into your face.
“I’m leaving today.” You say in a breath, wanting to close your eyes and hide from his questions that you knew would follow after.
“You were the one who texted me, called me and came in here. Now you’re leaving? Is it because of the trust fund baby you posted last day? Minho?” He speaks into the afterglow that glistened your face, the lights more brighter as the evening transitioned into the fall of night.
“I won’t come to your concert this week.” You just keep on spewing these sentences, knowing that he’d get mad, but it was inevitable.
He pushes away, the sudden loss of proximity and warmth almost propelling your body forward to chase it again, but you control.
“I’ll use your restroom, yeah?” You grab the bag and rings that lay forgotten.
His lack of response was definitely novel, but you don’t dwell.
Jungkook plops down on the couch, hands slowly untying the man bun that knotted his hair tightly, ruffling the now free curls, raking his palms slowly through them.
You come back, hands washed and freshened up, seeing him sprawled out on the couch.
Those lingering moments and conversations weren't a part of the deal. As much as you wanted to explain— how you had to urgently leave for London and why you're missing his concert— the way his features softened during sex, while he had you on him, all over and consuming.
That was new.
Bemusing.
You wanted to say anything, really.
But what was there to tell him, that doesn't sound like a goodbye now?
So, you quietly gather your things— the only things filling up the space being the hum of the aircon and the sofa creaking with his legs shaking in somewhat an anxious tone— and leave the studio.

The waves ripple, gently caressing your bare feet, like a timid reminder about what you’re about to get yourself into on a random Saturday morning.
It does not feel all that haphazard though— seeing Jungkook knelt down in front, waxing the surfboard— the coconutty whiff of its scent soothes your senses for at least a moment before going full-on panic mode again.
“I don’t think today’s weather’s the best one for surfing, Matty you agree right?” you caress Matilda’s velvety muzzle as she barked in glee, jumping around the sand.
“She fully disagrees, c’mere” He looks up from the board, patting his upper thigh as you tilt your head in confusion.
“You need some feet gear, I’ll help.” He casually offers as if this happened on a daily— the way it rolled off his tongue so easily as he ran a hand behind his suit to dust it off of extra sand.
Nothing about this situation was routinely.
It was astounding how, in this very beach your grandma once adored so much, you were about to take leaps of faith and courage, experiencing completely new things way out of your comfort zone.
Jungkook crouches down, palms holding your bare feet now about to be clad in literal surfing gear, as he helps you into them with practiced ease.
“All set?” He comes up, a light smile spread across his face, taking a double look at your figure wrapped in the wetsuit rented from his own small beachside shop.
“Yeah, I’m literally about to set records— just me and my little surfboard.” Even the tiniest attempts to lighten the knot in your stomach and breath caught too hard in the middle of your throat, were in vain.
“Sure, set as many as you want, but I’ll deserve partial credit.” He catches a hold of your shoulder, maneuvering towards the board.
“What if I say you get full credit? Can I go back home? Matty might be hungry.” You fret in his arms, but he holds you still.
“Woah what happened to the bravery from minutes ago?” Jungkook’s hands come round your waist and all that you feel are the points of contact between your skin even through the thick material of the suits. He anchors you forth, steadying the surfboard under your feet.
“I’ve given you enough dryland training and you said you swim? You’re fine, __.”
“But Matty-”
“She’s with Tae, I’m here with you. Let’s go?” Those words did calm you down more than you’d admit.
The humidity gets to your face quickly, gathering up a bright sheen on your skin.
No, you’re not sweating, obviously not.
It definitely has nothing to do with the vast expanse of waters laying free, welcoming you in with a warning. Fear.
The initial inhibition was gnawing at your insides.
However, you feel his secure stance behind, and that was finally convincing enough for you to take the next step.
“I’m ready, Jungkook.”

“1,2,3.. stop!” the man, in his mid-twenties and ginger hair, which is the only color he stuck to for about 4 months straight now, practically yells into his mic.

Winter came anew, snow spread all over like a soft white blanket, a few pellets here and there. You walked out of the palace, draped in layers of clothing which wrapped warmth around, as you walked down the imperial staircase decorated royally with different kinds of fairy lighting and small baubles stuck onto the handrail. Elegant and festive air engulfed the palace atmosphere. As you waltz to the extravagant Jeonju palace hall, you see workers hurrying, walking hither-thither in order to get the big Christmas tree decorated. Like the friendly woman you are, you greet each one of them as they serve a bow to you. A slow smile lines on your lips while you make your way to the door and out into the palace garden covered in layers of snow.
The kingdom of Jeonju preparing for Christmas is arduous.
They say, all princesses are happy, for they have everything they want. No struggles and zero distress. But a princess, beyond the shimmery crown, harbors a soul.. Breathes the same air as everyone irrespectively.
Your life was complete, in the eyes of a commoner. Jewelry, innumerable dresses, people to cater to basic needs, everything.
You were surely grateful, but a constant void colored in the outlines of your mind, enhancing its emptiness.
The scent of winter was apparent, air turned more frigid as you clutched the clothes draped around you, pressing them more onto your skin as a shield, before sitting down on the bench amidst the green and white expanse of the palace garden.
Numerous thoughts smoothly slide into your mind watching the snow decorate the bushes and trees. Sparing a soft glance at your left hand, your other hand slightly caresses the shining diamond ring encircling the ring finger.
A promise ring. Defining your love for one another, signifying that your heart belongs to him and only him. Jeon Jungkook. He is the only man you have in your heart and secure your love for.
Jeonju’s deemed enemy, the prince of Busan.
[ Previous Christmas : A year ago ]
Tip-toeing through the silent hallway of your palace at night with only minutes left for the clock to strike twelve was— peculiar. Especially for a Princess who was forbidden to step foot out of the palace without umpteen bodyguards clearing her way.
You were always kept away even from normal experiences. No public interactions, no relationships to cherish, nothing.
Just because your dad, the King of Jeonju, feared his rivals, he kept you indoors shut out from all danger.
Standing to a side, finding space behind the statue of some revered ancestor, your breaths fogged up the smoothly maintained bronze surface of the rigid man’s metal torso— the cold air dominating.
You look around, silently scrambling to the nearest exit in a flash.
Save?
The jolly air of the palace backyard facing the town hit so vividly, the Christmas cheer already highlighting each of the houses— which were only miniature structures visible from your current position.
The previous day, you heard the maidens in the palace talking about a Christmas ball that was being held in the kingdom of Busan. Yes, you knew they were cut-throat enemies of Jeonju. But, you cared less, and decided to take part in it.
Discreetly.
It was a task, really, but convincing Soojin— your personal handmaiden— to lend you one of her unused dresses and accessories was quite easy.
Step 1, check.
Now you stand near the stables, whistling to Ira, your best friend, partner in crime.
Ira gallops in glee, however you could sense the tired whine she lets out the moment you feed her— boosting up energy for the adventurous night ahead— the way to Busan, now your red carpet to freedom.
___
Slowly walking through the wide hall— where several people were huddled up enjoying their time with their dance partners as a melodious Christmas tune was being enunciated by the royal band—you smiled heartily after a long time seeing everyone forget war and crime, just dancing to their heart’s content.
Soon, you were pulled further into the crowd softly, and looking up, you found a pair of very familiar doe eyes boring into yours.
“I knew you'd come.” He whispered, leaning towards your ear, hearing his voice after the longest time sent shivers down your spine. You’ve been close to only one person in your whole life, and he is the one who stood before you, hands circling around your waist, holding you against him.
Before the Kingdoms got into war, you both were best friends. He was a necessity like morning coffee, unwavering partner in most childhood shenanigans— and maybe just maybe, yours.
Both of you knew, for lifetime, that you're meant to be eachothers'. It wasn't required to be put in long words,
You just knew.
In fact, Busan and Jeonju weren’t enemies until the war that wreaked havoc all around the place. From then, you never got to meet him.
The kingdoms separated, cutting all ties, and even imposing regulations on citizens.
Never did you think that he’ll remember you after all that happened.
You took the biggest risk, now standing in a ballroom where thousands of people could see and recognize your presence.
However, his hold on you only tightened.
“I thought you wouldn’t remember me.” You let out shakily, overwhelmed with all the emotions striking through your being.
He swayed your bodies side to side rhythmically, his mouth still near your ear.
“I can’t afford to forget my princess.” Still dancing to the music, a tear rolled down your eye, head rested upon his shoulder ever so gently. And that small action showed how you missed and longed for him, the only person that gave you love.
“Loving your dress choice for the night, angel.” He chuckles, looking down at the faded material of your clothing. Running a hand through the lace that graced the neckline, his hands rest back on your waist, never ceasing to follow the mellow slow dance.
“You’re making fun of me, when I came such a long way to meet you. Talk about being a man.” Your eyes almost meet the back of your head, rolling them in mock anger, as he connects your foreheads with a breathy laughter rumbling through his chest.
You feel it.
Your hands on his chest, you feel the happiness.
The warmth you were never sure of, until now.
He carefully lets you step on his long pointed shoes— finely polished into shiny black— as your gloved palms find home on his shoulders.
And what you were unaware of, was his sneaky intention.
You looked up, to see the both of you standing near the grand Christmas tree, small branches of mistletoe hanging above your heads. Gaze fixed on Jungkook’s doe eyes, he whispered “I’ve been waiting for this moment for years, princess. Let me-“
“PRINCE JUNGKOOK !!” A deep yell echoed throughout the hall as everyone flinched and gasped, Jungkook detached himself from your figure, knowing the source of that authoritative voice. The music halted midway and now, all eyes were on the both of you.
The King of Busan, threw a sharp glare at you, as you bowed to him, eyes darting around the empty ground. “What are you doing with her? She’s our enemy’s daughter, the Princess of Jeonju. And you, who let you step into our palace?”
“I told her to come” Jungkook stood in front of you defensively.
“May you enlighten me on who gave you the right to decide, when I’m well and alive?” He asked Jungkook, tension crackling between their gaze.
“I love her, dad. I want her to be my Princess.”
You were absolutely stunned at his confession. He did not say “Princess of Busan”. No titles. Just his.
“JUNGKOOK, HOW DARE YOU TALK BACK TO ME?” The King raised his voice, outraged at his son’s audacity.
“I want to make my own decisions,-” He was about to go on, but you noticed The King was at his absolute limit of tolerance. You had to intervene.
“Jungkook please. You can’t talk back to your father.”
“YOU, you are the reason he talked back to me, his father. I will not spare you and your kingdom. Guards ! I want her out. This instant.” The King ordered as your eyes widened in terror. This news will surely reach your Kingdom and much worse— your father.
And that shouldn’t happen no matter what.
Like he read your thoughts, Jungkook held his hand up, gesturing the guards to stop moving further.
“I’ll leave.” He simply stated, your whole body shook in terror, slowly holding his shoulder with your right hand.
“Why” A small shaky whisper left your lips. He turned towards you, smiling.
“Princess, I promise to come back to you. If I don’t leave now, you will be in great trouble, I don’t want that to happen. You deserve a lot more in life.”
“Out. Now.” His dad said nonchalantly, as you watched Jungkook slip through the swarm of people, their mouths agape in stupefaction as murmurs filled the air.
Who never thought this Christmas night would be so eventful.
Breaking down into heavy sobs, tears glistened in a cascade through your skin.
He sacrificed everything he had for you.
Not wasting any more time, you bolted out of palace and from the Kingdom of Busan.
Ira was in no state to carry you any further, her growing neighs filled with complaint reaching your ears.
What did that poor animal do anyways.
You sigh and hop down, patting her soft body, calming her down and perching on a bench in the outskirts of the Kingdom, the dim streetlights casting a glow over.
Almost instantly, a piece of parchment slipped out of Ira’s side pocket, and caught your attention.
Opening it, you found a few words scribbled on it :
Would I ever be able to visit you in that dream Where you and I are eternal Not a goodbye, but a faint quest I leave, for answers I promise to come back With my healing wounds, I had left in my heart for eternity I’m still with you Darkness of the waves in me will be long gone by then You're my everything, words can't describe your soul Our Heart strings still embracing each other I’m never letting go Never in a million years 기대해줘 (wait for me) ~ yours, jeongguk.
A ring slips out of the envelope, and onto the ground, clattering in the loud silence of the surroundings, as Ira stirs from the sides, alerting your attention.
quietly taking it from the sandy pathway, you dust it and put it on.
You don’t cry.
Just longingly stare at the ragged piece of paper.
[ Present Time : 25th December ]
'Tis the season to be jolly', they say.
Not for the Princess of Busan.
The title felt heavy on your shoulders, each time your entire family brings up the happenings of a year ago.
You never celebrated Christmas with joy after the incident.
Instead, you simply used to walk around Jeonju and watch everyone spend their time with loved ones just to put your heart at ease.
And that’s exactly what you were doing right now.
Walking around the street, disguised in Soojin’s dress (yet again), watching people shop for gifts, some out in front of their houses decorating the trees, the endearing giggles of the children who laughed and played around filling up in the air.
As you continued the stroll, you stumbled upon a small hall from which low chattering erupted.
Stopping near its door you peered in, careful not to get noticed by anyone inside. But suddenly a group of girls pushed their way in, taking you along with them, accidentally inwards.
The whole place was decorated minimally but it looked pretty.
Christmas cheer everywhere, it’s the first time you felt festive. The whole aura of the place just fit the season.
A medium sized tree perched on the floor and vines of mistletoe on and around the tree.
Busy admiring the place, you felt a small tug at the hem of Soojin’s hand away dress that adorned your body— one that aided you in this disguise.
Looking down, a tiny girl smiled widely at you.
Gently crouching down to meet her eyes, you asked her ;
“Hey baby, what’s your name?”
“I’m Mina ! You look like a princess ! I want you to dance with my Koo!” She exclaimed as your eyebrows crashed in confusion.
“Who is Koo, Mina?” In response to your query, she pointed towards a tall man, back turned to the both of you as he talked away with other men around him.
“He’s my Prince ! And I want a Princess to love him, a princess who’s as kind and caring just like the one in the story Koo tells me everyday!” She sounded so excited to introduce you to him, and pulled you towards the man.
“Koo ! Mina found a Princess for you, now dance with the others, it’s Christmas, come on.” She nudged his arm and the moment your eyes met with his, the world seemed to stop.
The same doe eyes that carried your galaxy.
“Princess?” He was surprised to see you there.
Mina immediately put your hands into his, the comfort of them which you felt after an eternity, had a lasting effect.
She pushed you towards the crowd, déjà vu rushing in at the whole setting— Christmas day and the dance— taking you back to the last one almost instantly.
A million questions in your mind, he pulled you closer once again, but this time the hold was more firm and confident.
Like he’ll never doubt it.
Like he never did.
You couldn’t help but let out tears, drowning into his eyes as the music played in the background, the mistletoe above your heads once again.
“Princess, look up” You followed his words and looked up only to find the mistletoe right above your heads again.
“Seems like they're determined to make us kiss.” You joked and he shook his head, resting his forehead on yours, you couldn’t get enough of his eyes, wanting to look at them forever.
“Aren’t you looking into my eyes a little too much? Makes me flustered, princess.”
“I don’t want to stay away from you anymore. Let me look at you, what if you’d disappear again? How did you end up here?” You asked, bodies still swaying slightly in accordance to the music.
Unsaid words, but you knew your hearts were situated tightly in eachother's iron grips.
“I wanted to see you all the time, didn’t want to give up, so I came here, worked many hours in this small shop to be independent, I don’t want a kingdom that banished me, anymore, when I have my world with me,”
He looks at you with adoration.
"Knowing you're somewhere around, here in Jeonju, that was all that I needed to keep moving forth. Remember my promise?"
You nod, fingers finding its way into the fabric of his ragged, grey overalls, gripping lightly. He notices the ring wrapped on your finger and caresses it, face splashed with surprise.
Intertwining his hand with your ring-clad ones, your bodies sway further under the mistletoe hanging above.
"Do you live here?" Your simple question makes him smile, hands pushing a few wispy strands of your hair to the side.
"Yes, this is my humble abode, Mina's parents own the shop I work in. I live alone, in their outhouse."
He looks at Mina, excitedly playing around with a few of her friends, running around the tree all ready to open the gifts— dancing in tiny moves, occasionally, to the joyous music.
Your eyes follow, and realize— watching his calm face shine brightly under the yellow lights reflecting through the room.
You're not ready to let go.
"I'm so proud of you, never thought I'd see you again." You feel his calloused hands caress you cheeks, thumb rubbing over the unnoticed beads of tears.
He pauses, turning to look at you in deep contemplation.
“I used to see you when you walked around the palace gardens. From afar.”
“You could’ve approached me, oh, you don’t know how much I missed you, Jungkook.” You replied, slowly bringing your palm around his nape, bringing his face closer to rest your cherry lips on his.
Surprised by your bold move, he smiles into the kiss, sharing all the passion that he had through it, hands encircling your waist, arching you into him.
A feeling you both yearned for, lips on each other for the first time under the mistletoe, anew.
Once again under the mistletoe, this time it’s forever.

way back home ★ jjk
brief, cuddling on a rainy night starring, CEO!jungkook (baby daddy!jk 😓) x f!reader tags/warnings, none! just some corny lines cuz even though he's a CEO kook's cheesy like that, also korean euphemism reference (iykyk ;)
love diaries music rec, still with you— jungkook
A cold Tuesday night, the streetlights highlighting the sheets of rain sweeping sideways, the slow breeze along with the soft downpour overall — a perfect night to recollect, relax and reflect. You stood in the kitchen of the penthouse, stirring up and preparing hot shin ramen, simultaneously warming up some milk, as the rain continued to go “pitter-patter” outside. Your glance occasionally shifted to the glass window where the raindrops were sticking on, enjoying every bit of the night, as the sound of rain reverberated through the kitchen, Seoul city spanning out right in front of your eyes with new doors to happiness opening everyday.
A small fist grabbed the hem of your tee and tugged on it to grab your attention, making you look down, only to find your toddler, Mia looking up at you with her doe eyes that held a questioning look— one that she purely inherited from her father, Jungkook. Her cherubic smile melted your senses as you scooped her up, along with the cookie plushie she tightly clutched onto.
“Mia, didn’t mommy tell you to play with cookie while she brings milk for you?” You lightly tap the plushy clad in her tiny fists, as she defensively brings cookie closer to her little face, eyes slightly curved and lips already in a small pout, soon parted to form words.
“Dada, me wanna see” She barely made a sentence, but the longing in her sweet voice was enough for you to realize that she had been missing her best friend, her dad. Jungkook was the best dad to Mia, you love the way his eyes turn into goo when he holds her close, the way the both of them bond. He was off to work for a week now, in another town. He’d never miss a chance to come on FaceTime with you, and Mia pops in, giggling and her attempts to speak were just too cute to resist. She'd host a full fledged puppet show with cookie and her other plushies, occasionally jumping on the couches and chairs, making you sprint along as Jungkook watches the shenanigans a screen away.
But those wouldn't compensate for the feeling of having him close, feeling his warmth around you, and the rainy night caused these feelings to grow rapidly.
Definitely missing him.
“Dada will come tomorrow, okay? Now my baby can have her milk !” You lit her mood up as she lightly clapped her tender hands. Putting her down gently, you started filling her small bottle with milk, but just then, the doorbell rang as Mia ran towards it hoping that it’d be her dad with you following behind.
Clicking the door open, the familiar scent of forment cologne caught you off-guard, only to meet your beloved husband’s heart eyes that bored into yours.
“Jungkook ! You’re back !” Forgetting everything else, your arms flung around his well-built body, his hands encircling your waist in return. Mia started jumping in tiny, wanting to be in her father’s embrace too. Noticing her little movements, he immediately picked her up and peppered her face with small kisses, making you look at them in awe.
“I missed you both, couldn’t wait to finish everything and come back to my lovely wife and dada’s girl.” He pecked your lips and collected his baggage before going inside with you and Mia.
“Why aren’t you saying anything, love?” He set aside his suitcase and you helped him remove his coat.
“I’m just too stunned to speak honestly- You didn’t tell me that you were coming today ! I could’ve prepared something special for you.” You made a not-so-satisfied face as Jungkook laughed it away, easing your frown with his free hand.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you.” He winked, making you roll your eyes in mock annoyance. That’s when Mia started tapping Jungkook’s cheeks, still in his arms.
“Yes yes baby? What happened?” His attention shifted completely to her, as she yawned, her doe eyes getting droopy.
“Mia wants to sleep, I see. C’mon, let’s rest together.” Patting her back, he was about to walk away with her when you stopped him.
“Koo, you can go and freshen up. I’ll put her to bed.”
However, he stood still, Mia now fast asleep in her dad’s arms.
“Jungkook? Go take a shower.”
“No fun in showering alone. I’m too lazy. Someone up to help me?” He raised a brow in mischief.
You knew where this was going.
“I’d much rather help my baby sleep.” You laughed at his shocked expression as you took Mia from him and walked towards the bedroom, him giving up and retreating to the restroom to indulge in a relaxing hot shower, as the rain showed no sign of ceasing for the night, much to his delight..
time skip;
Jungkook eased his muscles, a hot shower on a cold rainy night was pure bliss. He walked out of the washroom drying his soft locks when his eyes landed upon Mia’s sleeping figure. She laid down on the soft mattress, legs tangled together cuddling the very plushie he once gifted her on her first birthday.
You rushed into the room scrubbing your lightly wet hands against the apron wrapped around your figure, looking like you just came from work to check on Mia.
“Hey, cherry” Jungkook walked to you and wrapped you in his hold as you tried to wiggle out to check on the dish cooking up back in the kitchen so that it wouldn’t burn.
“Koo, I gotta make something for you, not now.”
However the “cherry” did something to you, as remnants of your times back in school where it all started, came back in a cascade of memories. A friendship that planted its seed back when the both of you were literal children, morphed into something even more beautiful, but nothing changes no matter the distance or time. He’ll always be your best friend, your partner in every step of life.
“I’d love anything you make, even if it’s just some ramen.” His grip tightened, making you stop your attempts to get away.
“That’s cap, now don’t be stubborn, Jeon.” You scolded but he lifted you up in his hold, your feet now on top of his, moving behind the divider curtains so that your baby wouldn’t be disturbed amidst the somewhat get-together her parents are having.
“You smell so good, baby” He whispers into your neck, eyes closed.
“I think I smell like ramen and milk powder, for sure.” You swat his shoulder, bringing him close as he hums into your chest, now, placing featherlight kisses all over it and right at the centre of the J necklace that wrapped around your neck.
“Nope, you smell like what’s mine.”
You were about to snort at his corny reply, but his following response tightens your heart strings.
“You’re doing great. Thank you for holding our family together.”
He leans down, placing his tender lips on yours, foreheads resting against each other as his hands rub your waist over the apron, drawing you even closer, as if it’s possible.
Just then, you heard a soft sniffle, realizing that Mia woke up, you went over, and took her in your motherly embrace, cooing sweet nothings to calm her down. Meanwhile, Jungkook walked up to your duo and placed himself on the bed, resting his back on the headboard, and gestured to you to go to him.
You had Mia in your arms, his embrace immediately wrapping around the both of you as the rain continued outside, the clock ticked to the time, 9.30 pm. Mia was already fed, since you prefer to put her to bed early. Feeling soft pecks landing on your forehead time to time, you asked Jungkook
"How was work there? Are you good?" Your eyes went to Mia’s peaceful face as she succumbed to sleep yet again.
He hummed with a sweet smile before opening his relaxed eyes.
"I did well, but couldn't wait to come back home. But I've left off all the work for a week from today." He said, looking at your confused self.
"But weren't you the one who wouldn't spend time with us until all your work is complete? What's up now?" You whispered making sure not to wake Mia up.
"I thought about it, love.. I'll never have this best version of me if I'm away from the both of you. Now I'm gonna slow everything down and build our family, putting you first before anything." Tears welled up in your hazel eyes, how committed he was about your family. Definitely lucky to have him as your husband.
"Hey, love, don't cry. I don't like to see you like this." Contradictory to those words, his tummy rumbled making him gasp and smile bashfully, elevating the emotionally charged surroundings.
“Oh god, see you’re hungry. I told you to eat before anything else, didn’t I? C’mon, I’ll make you some ramen.” You put Mia on the mattress, placing a few pillows near her just in case she tosses and turns.
Taking out two cups of ramen, you fetched the already boiled water, mixed it with the noodles, and added the contents of the flavor packet that came with it into the paper cup. Jungkook wrapped his arms around you warmly, watching you cook up his meal.
“There you go. Eat well, I made it with love, you know.” You joked making him chuckle and dig into it scrunching his face at how good it tasted.
You couldn’t help but boop his nose, as he continued to slurp on the spicy goodness.
“You not eatin’?” He asked with a full mouth, barely making a coherent sentence.
“It’s 10pm. I already ate, baby.”
He seemed satisfied with your reply, immediately asking you for a side of kimchi to go with the last bits of noodles left.
___
[After dinner; 11:01 pm]
Intertwining his hands with yours, he walked you to the balcony, facing the rain which never seemed to end. Standing behind you, his arms around your figure, watching the rain was his little happiness. He yearned almost everyday to just feel you with him when he was away, but since the moment is here, he wanted to cherish every second.
“Lord, why’s the weather so moody? You know, I love the way the rain makes the brown soil seem richer and earthier than they are otherwise. It’s like it makes the things around us more pronounced and seen.” You muse into his ears, hands now resting on his tatted ones around your waist.
“Just like how I feel when I’m with you.” He added to your description, a crimson shade splashing on your bashful visage.
“You’re too cheesy today, what’s in the air huh?” You tapped his cheeks lightly.
“Hmm, I wanted to ask you something, though.” His eyes half closed, lax, almost as if he’s feeling the surroundings.
“Yes?” You waited for a response as he turned you around to face him directly in the eyes.
“Wanna have more ramen with me before bed?”

I woke up in the middle of the night by the sound coming from my living room. The culprit was no other than Jungkook, who had been singing karaoke with much pleasure as I could sense from his voice. I checked my phone and found that it was 3 o'clock.
I have a habit of not being able to go back to sleep once I'm awake in the middle of the night. And I'm pretty sure Jungkook was aware of it. Thinking of giving him a good scolding, I walked to the living room only to find the mess he had created.
At least four cans of beer lay all around the floor. He was drinking from his glass very excitedly, his hair completely disheveled. Hearing me enter the room, he looked up and flashed a bunny smile.
Of course, I couldn't bring myself to say anything mean.
"Come here!" he mumbled like a baby.
I dragged myself forward and sat down beside him. Immediately, he hugged me by my neck and placed a soft kiss on my cheek. I could smell beer from his breath.
"What are you doing this late?" I asked.
Jungkook blinked at me innocently, "Did I wake you up, sweetheart?" I pouted and nodded my head sorrowfully to let him know what he did. To which, Jungkook gasped dramatically and clapped his hands to his mouth.
He spoke with remorse, "I'm so sorry, baby. I swear I didn't mean to. I only wanted to have some drinks. And suddenly I felt like singing. I forgot that you were already asleep. What time is it?"
"It's 3 in the morning!" I informed.
"Okay, baby! I'll stop now." He tried to get up but I pulled him back into the couch.
"No. Stay. And sing!" I requested, "for me."
He smiled mischievously and said, "I wuv U." He then turned on the music to sing, while I rested my head on his shoulder and ran my hand through his sexy messy hair.

Note: I had to write something down since I watched his late night live. Jungkook has no idea what he does to me...
My Masterlist
Fandom: BTS Pairing: OT7 x Female Reader Genre: Fluff Notes: It’s a collection of Christmas special one shots of each member in different situation with the reader (not poly). I know, I’m late. A lot of things were going on and I couldn’t manage to write. Sorry about that. Anyway, a very late Merry Christmas to you all...
My already messy apartment now looked messier than ever. As I looked at my tired boyfriend on the couch, I regretted to have agreed to his plan of decorating my place for the Christmas.
“Ugh” Namjoon groaned, “my back hurts so much.”
“Don’t forget that it was all your idea.” I reminded him.
Namjoon shook his head, “I didn’t think your place was such a trash.”
“Well, you can’t blame me.” I shrugged my shoulders, “At least, I warned you.”
I sat down beside him and put my head on his lap. I could feel that my body ached too. Namjoon started to play with my hair. It was one of his favorite things to do.
I looked up at him, “Or we could stop if you want.”
“No, darling!” Namjoon smiled, “Like I had promised, we’re going to make this place look like a heaven.”
And we were back at work; dusting and cleaning the floors, walls, ceilings, windows, arranging the misplaced items, collecting the dirty laundry from different corners of the house, putting the books back to the shelves etc.
A short break. Then, we started to work on the decorations. It was my first time decorating a house for Christmas and my excitement was too much. We made the bed with white and red bed sheets, put different flowers and wreaths all around the place and hung special items on the wall.
Finally, it was time for the best thing among all, decorating the Christmas tree. We put on the fairy lights around it, hung little gingerbread men and other cute items on it and lastly, we needed to put the biggest star on top of it.
“It’s too high. I can’t reach it.” I said, “And also, I don’t have a ladder.”
“But you have me.” Namjoon said with a smile.
I thought he meant to do the job himself as he was much taller than me. But instead, he lifted me up, holding me firmly by my waist. His cheesiness was making me blush. I still managed to set the star in the perfect place.
Taking a look around the place, I was really satisfied with the result. My place had turned to a whole different one. It looked like a heaven indeed. But as soon as my eyes rested on the tree, I frowned.
“Something’s missing.” I said.
Namjoon looked at it’s direction, “What?”
“Of course,” I gasped, “the glass baubles.” I facepalmed myself to have forgotten about my favorite piece of decoration. I looked at Namjoon, “Could you please bring it for me? It’s in my closet.”
Namjoon went straight to the bedroom. As he was returning with the box full of red and white glass baubles on his hands with a smile that showed his dimples, I remembered just how much I loved him.
But the next thing he did was tripping and falling to the floor along with the box full of red and white glass baubles. The smile that had grown on my face earlier disappeared within a second as I heard the glasses being shattered inside. I remembered just how much I hated his clumsiness sometimes.
“I’m so...” Namjoon began but I cut him off.
“Don’t speak.” I said boldly. “It’s done anyway.”
I raged out of the living room and sat down on my bed. I realized I was very exhausted by all the works I had done this evening and I just wanted to sleep. I tried to clear my head. I didn’t want to think of the disaster that just happened.
I could hear Namjoon cleaning up the mess outside. It sort of broke my heart. Minutes later, he peaked into my room. I still couldn’t bring myself to say anything. He came to sit beside me and said, “I’m sorry.”
“I know.” I answered.
He placed a soft kiss on my cheek and said again, “I’m sorry.” It was one of my favorite things that he did. I still didn’t budge.
He kissed me once again and said, “I’m really sorry, darling.” He was whining like a little child at this point. And I couldn’t help but laugh. Namjoon’s worried face beamed with relief.
“Alright!” I said, “I think we can go one Christmas without glass baubles.”
I was weeping for the past few minutes as the nostalgia of my childhood hit really hard. Earlier I had found an old diary of my grandma while cleaning the house. There weren’t much personal but more like important business stuffs written on it.
But among them, I had found my grandma’s recipe for making the famous gingerbread house we used to make every Christmas. Reading that reminded me of my late grandma and our memories together. I couldn’t help but cry at the sudden overwhelming feeling in my heart.
My fiancé, Jin, came back from work at that time. As soon as he saw me he called, “Jagi!” I quickly wiped away the tears and tried to smile at him. I didn’t mean for him to see me like that.
He held me in his arms and asked, “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah!” I sniffed, “I’m fine.”
“What is it, jagi?” He looked at me again, trying to read my face. Then he suddenly gasped, “Oh my God!”
I looked up at him in confusion. He beamed with sudden joy and asked the dumbest possible question, “Are we going to have a baby? Are you pregnant?”
“What? NO!” I was shocked at his stupidity, “It’s just that I found my grandma’s diary and it reminded me of her.”
Jin just replied with an “Oh!”
I went back to my bed and held up the page of the recipe for him to see. He took the diary from me and checked it. The recipe was cut out from an old newspaper and there were hand written notes of my grandma everywhere, making changes where she had thought was necessary.
Jin let out a chuckle and said, “Jagi, this sounds like a lot of fun. We should try it this Christmas.”
I was so glad to hear that. “Really?” I asked, “Do you think you can do that?”
“Of course!” Jin said with confidence, “Though I won’t say it will be exactly like your grandma’s one. But I will do my best.”
Even though I wasn’t very good at baking, I still tried to help Jin in every possible way. I bought the groceries myself and prepared all the necessary utensils needed for the procedure. I also promised Jin that I would do the dishes once everything was done.
Jin started to work, yelling me orders in between. But my mood was too good to be ruined by his little insults. I worked rather enthusiastically. I stirred the mixture on the stove, batted the dough, cut the little doors and windows, even helped Jin with the icing.
After hours of much works, it was done. The house had been decorated perfectly. It looked almost like my grandma’s. I clicked a picture before cutting the gingerbread house. At first bite, the smell instantly reminded me of older times, though the taste wasn’t exactly the same.
“What do you think?” Jin asked curiously.
“It’s great.” I nodded, “Thank you so much for doing this.” I wrapped my hands around his neck. “Tell me what can I offer you in return?”
“You know exactly what I want.” Jin smirked at me.
I gasped, “You mean, a baby?”
Jin gave me a warm smile and spoke, “Nope. I want you to do the dishes, instead.”
“So tell me, why am I finding it out just now and that too, from Hoba?” I could hear Yoongi from the other side of the phone call. His voice suggested that he was really annoyed.
Basically what happened was this; Yoongi was delaying his Christmas plan, which was to be with his family, because I had no one for my Christmas celebration this year. Since, it was our first Christmas after getting together, Yoongi wasn’t very happy leaving me alone. But I had forced him to go because his family had been planning for a special party and it wouldn’t look nice if their youngest son was absent there.
But the worst happened. I fell sick the day before Christmas. It was a seasonal sickness for me but still pretty bad, as always, to handle. The fever and the blocked nose wasn’t making me feel very Christmas in my lonely hours. Still, I didn’t want to spoil Yoongi’s mood. So naturally, I kept my mouth shut.
“I thought I could trust Hobi for once.” I said, equally annoyed.
Yoongi sighed. “Is it too bad?” his voice was soft now.
“No!” It was definitely a lie since I could feel that a headache was also added to my list of discomforts.
“You shouldn’t have forced me to come to this party.” Yoongi said, “I would rather be with you.” Before I could say anything he already hung up.
As the hours ticked by I realized how terribly lonely I felt. Yoongi was in a whole different city and my own family was at the opposite side of the continent. I was also hungry but wasn't in a shape to make anything for myself. So, I called the Pizza place near my house and ordered my favorite one, the pepperoni.
The bell rang. I had to get up from the bed and slowly head towards the door. My whole body ached even at the slightest effort. But behind the door, I didn’t meet the delivery guy but my boyfriend instead.
“Yoongi?” I was surprised.
He shook his head in mere annoyance and hold up the huge bags he was carrying on both of his hands. “Let me put this things down first.”
He went straight to the dining room and put the bags on the table. I still couldn’t believe it. Yoongi had driven more than a hundred kilometers road on the Christmas Eve and he left his family to be with me instead.
Yoongi turned to me and said. “Let’s eat the food before it gets cold.”
That was when I hugged him right away. Yoongi let out a sigh and a few seconds later, he embraced me into his arms.
I was overwhelmed by his presence in my lonely state. I took in the warmth and his familiar soothing scent. The smell of his perfume mixed with the after-shave was intoxicating.
I finally let go and informed, “But I’ve already ordered Pizza.”
Yoongi smiled, “A little more food during Christmas won’t hurt.”
The table was set and the hot food served. We ate and talked and laughed and cried out of too much laughter. It was such a merry time that I almost forgot I was sick.
But my fever rose at the end of the night and I was curled up in my bed, shivering. Yoongi touched my forehead to detect the amount of heat and frowned. Then, he went to the kitchen to prepare something special.
Peppermint tea, something I never quite liked. But as I had a cold and the tea was warm, I accepted it rather gratefully. A soft ‘thank you’ left my mouth as I took the cup from his hands. Yoongi sat beside me and watched quietly as I sipped my tea. I wondered what I had ever done to deserve this.
Shopping for all of them who were coming to our Christmas party was exhausting. But the worse was wrapping them in gift papers by ourselves. Since it was our first Christmas together after we had moved in together, my boyfriend Hoseok wanted it to be a special one. And hand-wrapped gifts sounded special indeed.
“Do you have any idea how long we’ve been doing this, Hobi?” I asked, a little annoyance in my voice.
“C’mon, goldie!” Hoseok said in the cutest tone, “Don’t talk like that. We should be doing this with joy.”
“Joy, my foot.” I muttered.
“Uh-uh.” Hobi did another cute sound effect while moving his index finger side to side, indicating I shouldn’t have said that.
I didn’t respond. Instead, I walked out of the living room to my bedroom. I waited for a moment to see if Hobi followed me. When I was sure he had gone back to work, I did what I had been planning the whole evening to do.
I hid Hobi’s Christmas gift, a fancy watch, which I had bought secretly from the shop today, in his closet. So that, next morning he would find them himself while I’d be fast asleep.
Then, I went back to work along with my hard working boyfriend. We finished them all by midnight and arranged them neatly under the Christmas tree. Wishing each other merry Christmas and kissing goodbye, we went to bed.
“Holly Molly!” Hobi exclaimed in the morning and I woke up with a start. “What did my little bumble bee bought without me knowing, huh?”
I sat on the bed and smiled, “Check it yourself, my little sunflower.”
Hobi opened up the present, giggling like a little child. His eyes were shining when he saw what was inside.
“Did you like it?” I asked.
Hobi beamed at me and said, “What are you talking about? It’s fabulous.”
Everyone was busy searching for their gift and opening them. There was a lot of chaos among our family and friends. Watching them liking what we had got them, made me feel like it was all worth it.
“Hey!” Taehyung called me, “Here’s one addressed to you too.”
“For me?” I asked. At first, I was a little confused. But then, I realized that Hobi had planned to hid my gift among all the others. I took the small box from Taehyung.
Hobi hugged me before I could open it and whispered in my ears, “Merry Christmas, honey!” Inside the box was a ring. My head stopped working for a while. Looking back at Hobi, I almost teared up.
He was on his knees.
Christmas this year was full of snow. And there was no way we could step out of our house in this weather. So, Jimin and I had planed for a movie marathon night. Being the movie freak as I was, the job of selecting the best movies came to me.
You could imagine how pissed I was when Jimin started to act uninterested through the second movie. At first, he tried talking in between scenes. When I refused to join his unfitting conversation, he started to complain about how all the movies I chose were so boring, even though it was ‘Home Alone’ which we were watching at that time.
“You can go and sleep.” I said, “I’m gonna finish my boring marathon alone tonight. And I’m perfectly happy to do away with you.”
“What?” Jimin pretended to look cute while being shocked, “you’re abandoning me for these movies?” I gave a stiff nod and he started to whine and threw a tantrum like a child.
“Acting cute will take you nowhere, Park Jimin.” I stated flatly.
He put his head on my lap and said with a smirk, “But it took me to your heart.”
“Stop being a cringe and move out of the way.” I pushed his head.
After minutes of doing puppy eyes and pouty faces, when I still didn’t budge, Jimin walked away from me. But he was back within a minute wearing his night gown which I had commented he looked sexy in ages ago.
“What does it suppose to mean?” I raised one of my eyebrows.
“It means,” Jimin threw himself on the couch next to me dramatically and said, “I’m getting ready for bed.” The last word, he said in a whisper, clearly indicating the obvious.
I scoffed in reply and kept my eyes fixed on the TV. Jimin moved on the couch in a certain way to get closer and carefully snaked his hands around my waist. I knew what he was capable of doing to me. But I refused to give in.
I slapped his hand and said, “Stop bothering me.”
Jimin took away his hands, a frown growing on his forehead. Then, he walked away stomping his feet, muttering “Stop this! Stop that!” I almost laughed out loud.
After half an hour of watching the movie alone, I realized it was indeed boring. No offense to my all time favorite ‘Home Alone’ but I was missing Jimin beside me. I sighed and turned off the TV.
Jimin was already fast asleep. He looked like an angel in this innocent state of unconsciousness. I could look at him for the whole night and still wouldn’t get bored. I smiled to myself.
“My lovely Jiminie!”
Apparently, five layers of clothes weren’t enough to keep you comfortable on a snowy night out on the street. I wasn’t foolish enough to have come out into the open at this time either. But unfortunately I had a boyfriend who was extremely stubborn. I knew, I wouldn’t be able to lift his mood up the whole Christmas if I didn’t come out to play with him in the snow just now.
So, here I was, struggling to throw a single snow ball at my childish boyfriend, who had been continuously throwing enough of them at me by which I could have built a huge snowman.
“Please!” I begged him as another ball hit my shoulder, “Stop it already. I’m so tired.”
Taehyung came running at me with a smile on his face. “You’re not fun to play with.” he tried to mock me.
“I know!” I huffed out, “Can we do something else? Something fun?”
Taehyung thought for a moment. Just before I could offer him to play a nice game of monopoly inside our warm room, he yelled in excitement, “Let’s make a snowman!”
“What?” I asked in disbelieve, “No way!”
But Taehyung always had his way. So, we were rather doing what he had suggested instead of what I had thought of even if mine was a rational decision anyone would have agreed upon.
Building a snowman was harder than it looked. I remembered to have done it when I was just a kid. Those times, I always had my sisters and parents to help me. The shapes were never right. Taehyung wasn’t satisfied with them at all and we had to rebuild it from the base every time.
Finally, we managed to make the perfectly symmetrical balls, the upper one half the size of it’s base. Taehyung nodded his approval and I sighed in relief. I was grateful that Taehyung let me do the most interesting works; putting the buttons, eyes, mouth and the carrot for a nose. I finished the final task perfectly and looked back at my boyfriend.
And there it was. The boxy smile. When my eyes stopped at his perfectly wide grinning face, I felt like the time had slowed down. The snow was falling rather dramatically. My surrounding suddenly looked more romantic than it did even a few minutes ago.
Taehyung looked at me and tilted his head in confusion. “Baby?” he called, “Why are you staring at me like that?”
I suddenly realized what I was doing. I chuckled and shook my head to let out those romantic thoughts away. I decided that the romance could wait. Instead, I let his inner child enjoy this rare moment for now.
Finally, the party was over and all the boring people left the house. When I had done my share of cleaning up, my mother allowed me to go to bed. I picked up my phone as soon as I reached my room and locked the door.
“Oh shit!” I swore. Five missed calls and a text! And all of them were from the same person; Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook was my neighbor and I had known him for a year. I had liked him since day one. Little did I know that he had liked me as well until last week when he had asked me to be his girlfriend. Naturally, I said yes. But over the week, I got to know the Jungkook behind those doe eyes and bunny smile. He was quite stubborn and possessive in nature.
Five missed calls on Christmas Eve from him could mean disaster. I hastily checked the text.
“I don’t want to be that clingy boyfriend asking for attention when you’re having fun. So, I’m texting you instead. Merry Christmas.”
I got the tone of the message. Jungkook had a habit of always ending a text with calling me love. But he hadn’t done that here. Especially when it was supposed to be a merry Christmas text. That was not a good sign.
Since I had a pretty strict family, the fact that I had a boyfriend before I graduated high school was a secret. So, I checked whether my parents had already gone to bed or not before calling Jungkook right away.
“Wow!” I heard Jungkook speak, “You remembered me!”
“I’m so sorry. kookie!” I pleaded in a half whisper. “There were so many people. And you know my mother. She doesn’t allow phones in front of the guests.”
Jungkook remained silent for a while. Then he spoke again, “I wanna meet.”
“What?” I raised my voice unexpectedly, “You mean, now?”
“Yes!” Jungkook said, “Don’t you dare say no! I’m not going to bed without seeing you.”
I thought for a moment. Everyone was tired as hell. There was no way my mother would come to check on me at this time. I decided I would take this risk. “C’mon!” I told myself, “It’s Christmas!”
“Love?” Jungkook called.
“Meet me at the store.” I said, “And don’t forget to buy me Cheetos.”
Jungkook was waiting with a packet of Cheetos by the store door. A big smile spread across his face when he saw me. I gave him a quick hug and started complaining about how bored I was during the whole party and how much I had thought of him.
Jungkook kept on smiling and feeding me the Cheetos in between as I was too busy ranting about my misery. I stopped when I realized that Jungkook hadn’t spoken at all.
“Don’t keep staring at me like that.” I said.
Jungkook chuckled and said, “I can spend a whole lifetime hearing you talk.”
“That was cringey!” I said as I felt heat rushing to my cheeks.
“Look!” Jungkook pointed up to a mistletoe hanging above the store door. “It’s not every Christmas you get to stand under the mistletoe with your boyfriend by your side.”
I knew exactly what he meant. I was rather doubting if it was a coincidence at this point. The thought of Jungkook wanting a kiss from me sent a shiver down my spine. I looked down in embarrassment.
“Wait a minute!” Jungkook said, “Haven’t you ever kissed under a mistletoe before?”
“Actually,” I mumbled, “I’ve never kissed anyone before.”
A visible shocking expression spread on Jungkook’s face. When recovered, he cleared his throat, “Let me be your first, then.”
Carefully, he closed the distance between us. Then, he cupped my face on his hands and asked, “May I?”
When I nodded my ‘yes’, he gently kissed my lips. He let go and whispered softly, “Merry Christmas, love.”

I refused to get up from my bed. Or should I say, I was unable to do so. Because I was going through the worst period cramps this month. I am very pain sensitive. So whenever I had bad cramps, it always made me cry my eyes out.
"Aren't you going to have your breakfast, sweety?" My sister asked while gently patting my head over the blanket under which I had taken my refugee.
My phone rang and I whined in annoyance. My sister brought it to me and said, "C'mon! Your bunny's calling you."
I pulled my hand out of the blanket and took the phone in. My sister left to avoid hearing our cheesy conversation.
"So, no good morning for me today, love?" I could imagine the pout forming on Jungkook's lips.
"No!" I said shortly.
"Have my baby girl been crying?" The tone was a little bit alarmed.
"Yes!" I said again.
It didn't take too long for Jungkook to understand the matter. And nothing much was needed to be said. He was on my doorstep already.
Ding Dong!
"Look, who's here?" My sister called from the living room.
Despite the pain, I walked out of my bed, my blanket still wrapped around me. As soon as Jungkook saw my miserable state, he pulled me into a warm embrace and I sank into his huge muscular body.
"I've brought you dark chocolates, love." Jungkook whispered softly and kissed me on my ear.
Minutes later, we were squeezed in the couch, blanket covering the both of us, my head resting on Jungkook's chest, biting onto my chocolate every now and then, while Jungkook hummed on to an ost of 'The Goblin' being played on the TV.

Summary: When you’re stuck in a deserted road surrounded by wilderness, you have no other choice but to enter the huge mansion you see before you. The man you meet inside is mysterious. But he is too alluring for you to stay away from...
*************************************************
“Oh shit!” I swore as an animal passed by in front of my car and I had to break really hard.
It was past midnight and raining heavily. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to reach the destination of my work till dawn. I still had a long way to go.
I tried to start the car again. But it wasn't responding anymore.
"No, no, please," I pleaded to my car, "this is not the right place. For God's sake..." I kept muttering.
I had to give up trying after a few attempts. The car was a second hand one and it didn't function properly. I tried calling for the recovery. But there was no phone signal either.
Being hopeless, I got down from the car and got drenched immediately.
"Yeah, no, SHIT!" I swore in exasperation. I was cursing myself for agreeing to go into this remote area in the first place. I desperately wished for a miracle.
I looked around me. It felt like the road was in the middle of nowhere. All around me, I could see only wilderness. But there was a faint glow of light ahead of me. Without any further ado, I started to walk towards it.
What I found was astonishing and terrifying at the same time. There was a huge mansion. The front gate was wide open as if it was already aware of my intrusion and was welcoming me all the same.
I went inside the boundary, and knocked on the door. Even through the heavy rain, the sound of someone pushing open the door from within was heard clearly. I took a step backward as I look at the person in front of me.
*************************************************
There stood a man in dark clothes. I couldn't see his face properly due to the lack of light.
"Welcome!" He announced without any sign of hesitation, his voice sharp yet not cold.
I tried to explain what had happened in a few sentences before he said, "Perhaps it would be better if you come inside first. I can see you're wet."
I nodded my thanks and went inside despite having some doubts within myself.
He led me through a dark corridor into what looked like a very fancy living room to me. The fire was lit on the fireplace and I was grateful for the warmth.
"If you don't mind waiting here for a moment, love, I have to take care of something." Then, the man was gone.
I found everything really weird. I mean, who talked like that nowadays. His accent and the choices of words were really out of the ordinary.
I noticed that the whole room looked really dark despite being lit up by many candles all around it. I was still sitting by the fire when he came back with a towel and some clothes.
I was about to say it wasn't necessary, that he should not trouble himself with them, when he cut me off and said, "It's not every day a guest come to stay at my place. I'm glad to do anything to make you feel at home. And I apologize early. You might not get full attention since I had sent all the servants away for a week. After all, I was not aware of your arrival."
With that being said, I couldn't argue any further. He again led me to a bedroom and asked me to get changed while he prepare the supper.
The clothes he had given me were all old fashioned. But they were still as new as if no one had ever worn them.
When I came out to the dining room, I was awestricken by the amount of food that were presented before me on the table. The fact that it was done in such a short time by a single person was more fascinating.
The man was sitting on the very corner and called me to sit opposite him. I didn't make any further inquiries as I was starving and the smell was delicious. After having a few bite, I decided to make a conversation.
I found out that the man was called Jeon Jungkook and he was the landlord of the entire mansion. All of his family members had died in a tragic accident leaving him with a huge fortune. He lived alone with some servants to take care of him and the mansion.
As we were talking, I couldn't help but notice how incredibly handsome he was. He had a fine figure. His eyes were almost pitch black and they were huge. He was wearing old fashioned clothes like mine and wore fine silver jewelry. He also had a lot of piercings in his ears, eyebrows and lip.
And Oh God, his lips. As I looked, I couldn't take my eyes off them. I was looking at him in a very devoted way throughout the whole conversation. He was indeed very handsome. In fact, he was the most beautiful person I had ever seen my entire life.
*************************************************
Jungkook had promised to call the recovery for me at dawn (I would call him by his name since he had insisted me upon calling him that). As I lied down, I realized how terribly tired I was. So, I closed my eyes.
"How old is he?" I thought before falling into a deep sleep. He never mentioned his age.
In my dream, I was in a complete different world. There was darkness all around me. The warm room started to get cold as I felt someone coming near. The stranger climbed my bed and lied beside me, his hands slowly reaching to catch both of mine. Suddenly he was on top of me.
“You’re blessed.” He softly whispered on my ear. I could feel his breath going down slowly towards my neck. His lips touched my skin. I felt a sharp pain throughout my whole body.
Then, everything changed. I couldn’t feel the reality anymore. Nothing felt solid. It was as if I was floating through the air. I could see all the colors at once. But then again, there were no colors at all. It felt like every color, matter and surrounding had merged into one. It was a terrific feeling, but a pleasant one too.
“Who are you?” I wanted to ask. But I felt like I already knew the answer. I didn’t want to acknowledge it right away. Because then, I had to come back to the reality; which I didn’t want just then.
I couldn’t tell how long the strange feeling lasted. Slowly my surrounding started to get clearer. Half consciously, I could make out a man’s silhouette raising from my bed. He walked towards the door.
I tried to call out his name. But it seemed like I couldn’t move my muscles. He glanced back at me one last time before making his exit through the door.
*************************************************
I woke up with a jolt and found myself covered with sweat. I was gasping for air as I found it hard to breathe properly. My heart was pounding in my chest. I sat down and tried to relax.
“What time is it?” I thought. It was hard to guess whether it was night or day. I looked around me and saw that my room still looked the same. But I felt like an eternity had passed already.
The windows were covered with heavy thick curtains. So, it was possible that the morning sunlight couldn’t get inside. I slowly rose from my bed and opened one side of a curtain. The scorching heat from the sun reached my face. My eyes closed shut as it couldn’t adjust with the bright light suddenly.
I closed the curtain and went towards my bed again. I was feeling a little weak. There was a dull pain on my neck. I sat down for a while, thinking about last night’s incidents.
Then, suddenly I remembered about my business. I had to be present there before 10 o’clock. I hurriedly got out of bed and sprinted to the living room. Jungkook was sitting on an armchair by the fireplace. Just like my bedroom, all the curtains had blocked out the sunlight here as well.
“Good afternoon, love.” He greeted me with a smile, “did you sleep well?”
“Afternoon?” I gasped, “Oh no!”
“Is there a problem?” he rose from his chair and walked towards me.
I explained that I had an important meeting at 10 and that it was the reason as to why I had come to this place. Now I had already missed it and I didn’t know what to do.
“I’m so sorry, love,” he said, “I didn’t want to wake you up early. I thought you must’ve been very tired since last night’s tragedy.”
I noticed a faint line of smile on his face. It didn’t appear to me that he was sorry at all. In fact, it looked like he was actually glad.
I shook my head. It sounded ridiculous. Why would this man want me to miss the meeting? What was there for him in it?
“As there is nothing you can do about it now, I would suggest you to stay here as long as it takes for your car to be repaired.” Jungkook announced. I didn’t say anything. I was still very confused about everything that was happening.
“You look so pale.” He said, “Come, sit here.” I went over to sit by the fire. He poured a glass of wine and handed it to me.
As I took the glass, our hands touched for a moment and I shivered. His hands were surprisingly cold.
*************************************************
After lunch, Jungkook took me to the library. I was going through the books on the shelves while he sat quietly in a corner. There was a book in his hand. But I could sense that he wasn't reading. He was secretly watching my every move.
I thought about my strange dream. It felt more real than any dream I ever had. But the feelings I felt were too strange to explain in reality. No matter how excited I felt the night before, at day time, I felt like there was an air of melancholy all around the house.
It started to rain again. I inquired about my car. Jungkook told me that it might take a day or two to properly fix it. I asked him if he could give me a ride to the town. He said I would rather enjoy my time in the mansion more.
He spoke with a voice of authority which made me shut up. I couldn't bring myself to argue. Even though I was strongly attracted by his appearance, there was a part of me who was frightened.
Time seemed to move at a different speed here. I tried reading something for a while but kept getting distracted by my own thoughts. It was mostly the memories of last night and those strange feelings.
Casting my fear aside, I thought it would be better to talk to my companion. So, I asked, "It rains an awful lot here, doesn't it?"
Jungkook shut down his book and smiled at me, "Yes, love. It does."
There was something in the way he called me 'love'. It made me blush almost every time. I was swept off for a whole minute by his answer.
He then chuckled to himself and said, "They say, the woods belong to the nine tailed fox that resides in here. After all, he controls the weather."
"He?" I asked, "Isn’t a Gumiho always a woman?"
"Is it, though?" He asked as if he had met a real Gumiho who was a man.
I shrugged my shoulders and added, "He must've been really sad for him to make it rain most of the time."
"Yes, love." Jungkook whispered under his breath, "He’s lonely. Just like I am."
*************************************************
Jungkook apologized and said he couldn’t join me for the dinner as he had some important works to be done. He then left me alone to have mine.
As I was eating alone, all kinds of doubts kept revolting around my head. I never saw him eat. He didn’t even joined me for lunch. But why? And how did he prepared the foods all alone in such a short time? I remembered how cold he was when our hands had touched.
But there was something that bothered me much more. He sounded very sad while telling me about the Gumiho. He sounded as if it were true. Or at least he believed it to be.
“He is lonely.” I thought, “Maybe that’s why he doesn’t want me to leave.”
The feeling of loneliness was something I was very much used to. I had never received any love from my family. They had never admired me or appreciated me for anything. In fact I was always considered a disappointment in my family.
All my life, I had searched desperately for a friend who would understand me and love me for who I was. It was the only wish I had cherished since childhood. So, I decided I would not mention about leaving unless Jungkook, himself, asked me to.
I waited for Jungkook for a while to bid him goodnight. But he didn’t come. I thought he might have already been to bed. So, I made my way towards my bedroom.
As soon as I fell asleep, my dream returned. He was on top of me, whispering in my ear, “I don’t want you to leave.”
But this time, I replied, “I don’t want to leave either.”
“Stay with me, will you?”
“Don’t let me go.” I mumbled as I felt his lips on my neck. Something sharp was pushed through my skin and I felt that quick pain all over my body again.
All the strange feelings of the previous night returned. But this time, everything felt more pleasant as I didn’t resist. I let myself loose.
When I came back to my senses, I could see his face clearly. It was indeed Jungkook. I knew it all along. But instead of shying away or being frightened, I was relieved.
He placed a soft kiss on my lips and whispered, “Sweet dreams, love.”
*************************************************
I woke up next day with the same feeling like the day before. I was sweating and it was hard to breathe. As soon as I tried to stand up, my head felt dizzy.
“Was it a dream too?” I pondered over last night. Whatever it was, the feelings I felt were a little too strong for me to avoid. I wanted to find out the truth. And the only way to do that was meeting Jungkook.
He was sitting by the fire as usual and looked up with a warm smile on his lips, “You’re awake.”
I slowly nodded and sat down on the armchair opposite him. “What time is it?” I asked.
“The same time you woke up yesterday, I believe.” He said casually. His expression turned serious as he looked at me closely, “Are you feeling well, love?”
I didn’t know whether to tell him the truth. What if it was really a dream? He would think I was mentally unstable. At that point, I was questioning my own sanity as well.
“I feel…” I hesitated before saying, “I’m fine.” Jungkook nodded. But he looked like he didn’t believe it.
“I’m glad that it’s not raining today.” I said, “Maybe, we can go out? Take a walk?”
“No.” Jungkook said sharply, a sudden terror reflected in his eyes. Then, he turned to me and his expression turned soft, “I don’t think you’re quite fit for the job presently, love.”
Then, he left to prepare my lunch. Just like the day before, I had to have lunch alone. But this time, he sat beside me while I eat, looking at me with somewhat fondness.
“Aren’t you going to eat?” I asked.
“I already had mine.” He said.
I was still questioning his behaviors. He was being such a gentleman, taking care of me all alone without any help. Giving me a place to stay when I needed it the most. But there was still a little bit of suspicion I couldn’t get rid of.
I felt weaker than I did the day before. I kept sitting most of the time. Jungkook offered to read me a poetry. I found his voice much more soothing than the poem itself. He could be reading the worst poem ever written in history. But I would still enjoy it as much.
When Jungkook left me to prepare the dinner table, I was walking around to explore some more territory by myself. But the more I walked, the dizzier my head got. At a point, my knees gave up and I started to fall.
But before I could actually touch the ground, Jungkook was already by my side, holding me firmly on his arms. I could see his face from up close. He was genuinely worried about me.
“Love,” he called softly.
I nodded to let him know that I was still conscious. He lifted me up in a bridal style and carried me towards my bedroom. I looked at him earnestly. I needed to ask it or I wouldn’t be able to rest.
“Was it you?” I whispered, “Or was it a dream?”
Jungkook put me to bed slowly. Then, he looked me in the eyes and said, “It was me, alright. But so was your dream.”
*************************************************
I woke up in the middle of the night. I felt better than before. I looked around searching for Jungkook. But there was no one in my bedroom.
“Why wouldn’t he come tonight?” I thought, “Was he worried about my health?” Whatever he was doing to me, I could feel it was making me weak. But I still wouldn’t want it to stop.
I walked out of my room. He was nowhere to be seen, not in the living room nor in the library. I walked towards the direction I believed was his bedroom. He wasn’t there either. At that time, I heard the sound of the front gate opening.
I thought he might have went out. So, I followed the previous route I took to get inside and was already in front of the main door. It was wide open. This time I was sure he had gone out.
“But why at this time?” I thought. Hesitantly I went out to check the matter myself. It was a moonlit night. So, there was enough light to see through the woods. I walked around for a while when the howling of the wolves started.
I got scared. But I had already walked a long way from the mansion. I sped up and started to head back. The noises kept coming nearer. I started to run. But the wolves seemed to be just beside me. As I glanced sideways, I saw a wolf jumping right at me.
I fell down, eyes closed and heart beating up to my throat. But the wolf hadn’t touch me. As I looked up, I saw Jungkook. He was standing in between me and the pack of wolves. I couldn’t see his face properly since his back was towards me.
Then, with a hissing sound, he leapt towards the wolves. All the wolves were jumping at him one at a time. But he was invincible. He was dodging almost every attack from the wolves.
I couldn’t make out most of the fight. There was chaos all around. I couldn’t even move a muscle in fear. One of the wolves bit Jungkook on his neck and he screamed in pain. I got up to go near him. But at that moment, what I saw scared me to death.
I looked at Jungkook in disbelief. His face bore the expression of a wild beast. His eyes were scarlet and glowing in the moonlight. Blood was dripping from his mouth.
Our eyes met for a moment. He seemed to have seen the fear in my eyes. I took a step back. His face softened. He tried to walk towards me, mouthing the word, ‘love’.
I turned back and ran.
*************************************************
I ran until I couldn’t anymore. I didn’t know where I was going. As I ran, all the memories from the mansion kept replaying in my head.
I never saw Jungkook eat or rest. He was terrified at the idea of going out. All of his room had thick curtains and they blocked the sunlight. His red eyes, his wild expression, the blood in his mouth…
I eventually lost consciousness and fell down on the ground. When I woke up again I was back at the mansion. I was lying on my bed while Jungkook sat at the very corner, looking at me.
I sat up quickly. His face was back to normal again. But I still couldn’t shake off the fear.
“Welcome back, love.” he said. “Are you okay?”
I didn’t answer. I looked out of the window where the curtains were drawn back. The moon was huge tonight.
Jungkook’s voice sounded very serious when he said, “You don’t have to be scared. The wolves won’t bother you anymore.”
I slowly nodded. I didn’t know whom I was more scared of, the wolves or my savior himself.
“Your car had been repaired.” He announced.
Then, he did something quite unexpected. He came to sit closer to me and took both of my hands in his. He looked me in the eyes and said, “You are free to go, love.”
“What have you done to me?” I was in tears.
“I know I have hurt you.” He whispered, “But trust me, I did it because I had no other choice.”
I started to sob. In between all of this mess, there was a kind of comfort I thought I had found. But my hope of an eternity together with this stranger I started to care about, was hanging by a thread.
“I’m so sorry that at some point, I started to care for you. It could have ended easily if I didn’t.” he said. I looked at his eyes. They were full of sorrow and regret.
“What are you?” I asked finally.
“I think you already know that, love.”
*************************************************
I stayed awake in my bed. It had been a while since Jungkook left. I couldn’t sleep. The thought of leaving this mansion for good had surrounded me. I was in despair.
I didn’t know for sure how Jungkook was feeling. But he had said he started to care about me even if it was not supposed to have happened. I didn’t know about my own feeling as well. All I knew was that even if it wasn’t love, I was madly craving for him. What could it be? Desire, lust or infatuation?
Love was a complete foreign idea to me. All my life, I had only needs and wants. And I did everything to have them. Now I felt I needed Jungkook. I needed him to care for me. I needed him to make me feel at home. I needed him to do whatever it was that he did.
I had made up my mind. I went to his room. He was sitting up with a book in his hand. He looked at me in confusion.
“I thought I made it clear.” Jungkook said, “You can leave tomorrow.”
“What if I refuse?” I asked. Jungkook’s eyes opened wide. He looked as if he never expected that answer.
“You told me earlier that I was free to go. Does that also mean that I’m free to stay as well?” I asked again.
He shook his head, “I don’t think you understand, love. It’s dangerous. We are two very different things. You can’t live with me.”
“I know,” I said and climbed on to his bed, “Make me just like you.”
“Love!” he whispered, looking hurt by my words.
“I understand how you’re feeling about it. But let me tell you something honestly about me.” I moved closer and took his hands on mine like he had done earlier.
Then, I said all the things I had always wanted to tell a friend, someone who would understand me, someone who would care. Jungkook was the closest I ever had to a friend.
“I don’t have anyone or anything to return to.” I finished by asking him, “Will you accept me to be a part of your world?”
Jungkook chuckled, “I think I should be the one asking you that.” Then, his eyes lit up. It turned bright red as he came closer to whisper in my ear, “So, will you be my bride for an eternity, love?”

Fandom: BTS Pairing: Jungkook x OC (Jessie) Genre: Angst and a little bit of fluff Warning: Possessive behavior, underage drinking, heartbreak etc. Word Count: 1.8k words
‘Almost’, the most depressing word in my dictionary. If you want to know the reason behind it, we’ll have to go back in time.
Our grade 1 teacher had suggested to fix our seats alphabetically. That didn’t sound bad to me. Because Jungkook and I were the only students with the initial J for our names. Or at least that was what I thought.
“Jessie” my teacher called me to seat at the very back of the first row. I smiled at Jungkook and went over to take my seat.
“John” the teacher called next.
“Who the hell is John?” I thought while the new boy in our class came to sit beside me.
“Now Jungkook would sit at the very front of the second row” the teacher announced.
Jungkook went to his assigned seat and looked back for a moment to catch my eyes. It was a signal for me to persuade the teacher to let us sit together.
I knew I had to do it. Because Jungkook would rather die than argue with the teacher on any matter. I, on the other hand, searched for every single chance to contradict my teachers. It was something I found really amusing.
As soon as I put forward my request, our teacher replied with, “Who would complain on such a peaceful organization of the seats other than you?”
The other students started to laugh. As much as I can recall, we had some minutes of argument when finally the teacher said, “Alright! Let’s ask Jungkook on what he has to say about it.”
Then he turned to Jungkook and asked, “Do you want to go over to the back to sit with her? Or are you happy with my decision?”
Jungkook nodded his head and said, “I’m fine, here” like a complete idiot.
I remembered how his reply had hurt my pride and since then I had never sat beside him in any class, not even when we had gone to the high school. We were almost going to sit together for a whole year and more to come. But no!
None of us would introduce the other as the best friend. Nonetheless we had the closest bond than any best friends’ duo of our class. In fact, we were more than friends. We knew it and so did everyone else.
Some people couldn’t understand how we ended up together while others would say, “opposite attracts.”
We were totally opposite in terms of our personalities. I was wild, adventurous and free-spirited while Jungkook was shy, introverted and conserved. But these were merely what appeared on the outside. I believed him to be more like me spiritually. He just had been taming the animal within himself.
Perhaps I was the only one who could see that. Whatever it was, nobody would deny the fact that we were surely an unusual couple.
The next incident also happened at the farewell party of our Elementary School. I was talking with a bunch of boys and joking around.
I knew Jungkook would not join us since he didn't like the crowds. So I didn't bother calling him either.
The party was over and we were walking home together. Suddenly he said, "I didn't like seeing you there." he paused for a moment and added, "With THEM."
I laughed, "What are you talking about?"
"You know exactly what I am talking about"
"Okay, I understand." I said. "You were probably lonely in there. But hey! We are going to the same High School. But some of the boys are leaving the town. I will get to meet you anytime I want. But not them."
"Whatever!" Jungkook sighed in exasperation.
"Why are you making such a huge deal out of it?"
"Because, I don't want to share you with anyone."
"Why?" I asked, rather shocked.
"Because you're my..." Then he abruptly stopped.
I stopped walking. "What?" I urged him to continue.
Jungkook went red on the face but didn't say anything further.
"For God's sake, Jungkook, just say it." I wished to myself.
"Let's hurry!" He said, "We’re already late."
And that was it. Jungkook almost called me his girlfriend. If only he really did, I would have gladly accepted that. Perhaps then, our relationship could have gotten a tag.
We were only 13 back then. I had sneaked a bottle of whiskey from the kitchen cabinet where my father usually kept them. I was always curious about adult drinking that I wanted to try it myself. But doing something this big alone didn’t sound exciting at all.
Of course, I had told Jungkook earlier to sneak out of his house at midnight to meet me at the little junkyard. Reluctantly he had agreed. He actually showed up even though I doubted that he would.
“Guess what I have with me?” I asked him.
“Umm…” he went on to his usual loading mood.
I didn’t have any patience left so I showed him the bottle right away. Jungkook gasped as soon as he saw it. His reaction made me feel more proud of myself for accomplishing the task.
Jungkook tried to persuade me not to drink it. But it was hopeless as I was too determined. As soon as I sipped directly from the bottle I spited it out.
“Yuck!” I shouted, “How can people enjoy drinking this thing?”
Jungkook started to giggle at my reaction. I wasn’t feeling confident anymore. I had to try something else to prove that I was braver than him.
“Stop laughing!” I said boldly, “as if you’ve ever done anything fun in your life before.”
“You didn’t do anything to boast about either.” He said as a matter of fact. "You’re all talk.”
“Who said that? I’ve done quite a lot of things.”
“Like?” he was mocking me at that point.
I quickly tried to make up a lie to get away from the embarrassing situation, “Like I already had my first kiss?”
“What?”
The shock on his face was satisfying. So, I continued, “Yeah, of course, dummy.”
Jungkook frowned and asked, “Who was it?”
“Why would I tell YOU?” I started to tease him now, “I bet you have no idea about these stuffs anyway.”
“I don’t believe you.” He said.
I walked closer to him and said, “Why? Do you want me to prove it?” Jungkook took a step back and I started to laugh.
“I know about these stuffs as much as you do, okay?” he tried to argue.
“Then prove it.” I said in a very serious voice.
Jungkook remained quiet. I slowly walked toward him. He took two steps back causing him to be pinned to the nearby broken car. I rested one of my hand on the car to his left.
Through the moonlight, in the otherwise dark night, I could see Jungkook’s face clearly now. He had shut his eyes closed. I leaned to close the distance between our faces. Our chests were already touching and I could feel his heart beating fast. His trembling lips were parted a little.
I was almost within the reach to feel his breath on my lips, when I realized, he might be frightened. And I moved away. Jungkook opened his eyes and looked at me in confusion.
“I lied,” I said, “I never kissed anyone before.”
I’d had enough. I wanted to get rid of this unestablished relationship I was in with Jungkook. I finally decided I would ask him to be my boyfriend. I had even saved enough money to buy him a nice watch once we were official.
“I have something to tell you.” I said as soon as we met.
“Me too.” Jungkook replied.
“Okay, I'll let you go first.” I was shocked at his calm voice, “Mine can wait.”
Jungkook bent his head down and he said, “I've got accepted.”
“What?”
“You remember about the audition, right?”
“Oh yeah, right!” I said, remembering, “The audition. So, what now?”
“They had called me to sign the contract and go stay in Seoul.”
I didn't know what to say. I never really thought about what was going to happen if he got accepted by the company.
I asked hopefully, “But you'll come back again right?”
Jungkook was too quiet. Something felt wrong. That time, I knew it was the end. He was never coming back to me. A new life awaited him. How could I stop him now?
I smiled, "I knew you would do well."
“But I don't want to go away.”
I could see tears were forming in his eyes. My own tears threatened me to burst out at any time. I still managed to hold it back and said, “What are you talking about? It's a life changing opportunity.”
Jungkook wiped away the tear that just fell from one of his eyes. He slowly nodded his head. He understood.
“Jessie!” he called.
“Hmm?”
“Didn't you want to say something earlier?” he asked.
“Yeah.” I said, “I want to buy you a watch. Consider it as a goodbye gift.”
That’s how our story ended with yet another almost. It could have gone differently. If only I could bring myself to ask him to be mine, could he refuse? Didn't he loved me enough to leave behind everything to be with me? Apparently I never found out.
It had been ten long years. By the time, I had witnessed Jungkook growing up little by little on screen. I had been his number one fan since day one. He along with his group had gone so far now.
I was really grateful to all of his hyungs, who had been there for Jungkook all these years. They had made him who he was today. They had helped him to grow and come out of his shell. I was more than just proud of him.
My life had been different than what I had imagined it would be like. Nonetheless I was doing okay. However, one day, something really unexpected occur.
I saw Jungkook for the first time in ten years. He had come to the store I work in to buy his all-time favorite banana milkshake. He was wearing a cap to hide his face, so that no one could recognize him at a first glance. But how could I not? He was my first, if not last, love.
I was a little shocked when he put the milkshake in front of the counter. Our eyes met for a split second. Jungkook quickly looked away and handed me the cash and said, “Keep the change.” Then, he was gone.
He didn’t recognize me. I doubted he would have. I had shorter hair than him, too many piercings on my ears and nose, tattoos on my arms, neck and even face.
Life almost gave me a chance to be reunited with my Jungkook, only to snatch that hope away in the end.

Fandom: BTS Pairing: Jungkook x Female Reader x Yoongi Warning: It’s extremely angsty, toxic relationship (bit problematic too), physical and emotional abuse, drinking, manipulative behavior?
*************************************************
I look at him in disbelief. “Is it really the Jungkook I fell in love with?” I ask myself.
My cheek hurts from the slap that Jungkook’s hand had just landed on my face. Tears are forming in my eyes. I can’t see him properly through my blurry vision.
Instead who came to my mind was my ex, Yoongi. He was wasted that night. I should have understood and kept quiet. Instead I let my emotions take control of me and shouted at him, causing him to break the empty wine bottle right beside me. Pieces of glass flew to my face. I wasn’t badly hurt. But I was scarred inside. A scar, I knew, would never heal.
I remain silent. I wish I had done that before Jungkook’s anger rose to the point of hitting me.
Jungkook seems to have come back to his senses. He steps toward me, “y/n,” he whispers. I step back. Jungkook’s voice cracks up as he speak, “Are you going to leave now that I’ve done that to you?”
Yoongi, too, had come to me once he was sober. That day, I saw him crying for the first time. He had begged me to stay. He told me, “I’m not what you think I am.”
I answer to Jungkook the same reply I had given Yoongi that day.
“I can’t love someone I’m afraid of.”

Note: I don’t know why I keep thinking about such violent scenarios. Personally, I don’t think Jungkook and Yoongi could do such an act. But I had to imagine someone before I make a scene on my mind. Them being my biases, automatically came to my mind first. Forgive me, lord. Forgive me, Jungkook and Yoongi.
Note: This is totally fictional. This is to show how I personally perceive each BTS member and think how they will act in this specific situation.
Jungkook was waving at me as I walked towards the shopping mall.
I wanted to buy myself something because I finally graduated from the college I was desperately wanting to leave. And I accidentally told that to Jungkook. He insisted on coming with me saying it didn’t look nice, my coming alone for such an occasion. I told him it wasn’t a big deal. But he would do whatever he wanted to and sometimes what his Hobi hyung requested him to do.
“You are late as always.” Jungkook pretended to look annoyed. I smiled and took his hand as we went inside.
The shop we went to was way too expensive than I anticipated. But the clothes were so damn good. I desperately searched for something that I could afford.
Seeing me struggling to choose, Jungkook brought a beautiful black and white top with a high-waist pant and showed it to me. The set was so beautiful that an automatic ‘wow’ reaction came to my face in an instant.
“So you like it?” Jungkook gave me a wide smile, “put it on.”
I shook my head and tried to explain to him. But he didn’t even listen to what I was saying. He simply pushed me toward the changing room. Once inside, I checked the price. NO WAY!
But I still put it on just to see myself in the mirror. I never felt more beautiful. In fact, I looked gorgeous. Jungkook really knew what looks good on me. I smiled at myself.
I came out of the changing room in my regular clothes. Jungkook looked confused, “What happened? Didn’t it fit well?”
“It fitted perfectly. But I can’t buy it. Not today. Let’s go somewhere else.” I said it straightforward without giving him a chance to speak. Jungkook was frowning. I putted the set back at their place and walked out of the shop.
“Thank you, anyway, Jungkook.” I said, “your choices...” I trailed off as I looked behind only to found that Jungkook wasn’t there.
I was a little confused for a while. Then I saw him coming out of the shop carrying a shopping bag with the same old wide smile on his face.
“You didn’t, did you?” I glared at him.
“Why?” he asked as if he had known nothing.
“Jeon Jungkook, what the hell?” I shouted at him.
His smile was gone. He was looking at me with his big doe eyes. After a moment of silence, he said, “You know, my eomma always says that if you get out of a shop without buying something you desperately wanted, it’s bad luck.”
I laughed out at this. “Seriously, Kookie? You don’t have to lie like that to emotionally blackmail me into accepting that.”
His big wide smile returned as he handed me the shopping bag.
I was just about to go to bed when my phone dinged with a notification. It was Taehyung. My immediate thought was something might be wrong. Taehyung always texted me whenever he was upset since we were really good friends and I was a good listener.
“Are you awake?” his text read. Before I could write anything back he again texted, “Since you’ve seen my text, you’re awake.”
“What happened? Is everything okay?” I texted him back.
Taehyung was typing while I waited anxiously. Finally he wrote, “Don’t worry about me. I’m outside your house. Please come down.” followed by a smiling emoji.
“This alien!” I thought. Though I liked him a lot, he could get really annoying at times. The temperature was really low outside. I wondered what he was planning at this hour of night.
I was still thinking whether I should go or not when he texted me again. “Aren’t you coming?”
I knew I had to go. Otherwise his feelings would be hurt. He would be going away for tour tomorrow. I wouldn’t be able to meet him any time soon. Not even this Christmas.
I put on a sweater and headed outside. Taehyung was smiling at me. The smile that always warmed my heart whenever I was having a bad day. I could see he was shivering from the cold. So, I asked him to come inside.
He replied with a “No” and then immediately added, “I brought you your Christmas gift since I won’t be able to give it to you on Christmas day.” He showed me the box he was carrying. I hadn’t noticed it earlier.
“You could have simply send it by someone. You didn’t need to come here at this weather.”
“But I’m going away. The flight’s at dawn.” he said in a rather sad voice.
“Whatever” I still couldn’t agree with him, standing there in cold, shivering from my head to toe.
Taehyung gave me a wicked smile and said, “You’ll regret saying that, you know? Because I am taking THIS back.” He pulled out a pair of converse from the box.
“NO WAY!” I shouted in excitement, “They are for me?”
“They WERE.” he said mockingly, “since you don’t need them...” he turned to go back. But I hold his hand, “Oh, Tae-Tae, I’m sorry.”
He turned back with his box smile on his face. I hugged him in excitement, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
“It’s been a while since we last met.” Jimin said while stirring his coffee.
“Now that you’ve mentioned it, that’s right. I was quite busy with my school works lately. I haven’t met any of my friends since God knows when.” I finished with a heavy sigh.
Jimin smiled softly, “Thank you, y/n, for having a coffee with me.”
“Don’t need none of it.” I said casually, “So, tell me, how’s things going on with you? You’re probably the busiest person I know.”
Jimin gave a little laugh, “you just said it yourself. But...” he stopped.
“But?” I urged him to continue.
“I’ve missed you, that’s all.”
I wasn’t expecting that. It sounded a little too straightforward to tell a friend you meet once in a while. I mean, Jimin was quite a friendly guy. It was always easier to talk to him no matter how long we’ve been out of touch. But him telling me that I was someone he had missed sounded like something I’m not used to.
“Oh!” I said rather awkwardly.
Jimin pulled his chair closer and said, “Will you do me a favor, y/n?”
“Depends?” I was confused.
“Close your eyes”, Jimin commanded. “Please!” he added.
I had my doubts what he was doing. But I still closed my eyes for just a second. The next moment I opened them and said, “it looks so stupid.”
“Please, y/n, just do it. For me?” he further requested, pouting his lips.
This time I really closed my eyes. I could feel his hands reaching out to catch mine. My body shivered a little at his touch. Something very smooth was pushed through one of my hands.
“Done!”
I opened my eyes only to found that a cute little scrunchie with a long bow was hanging by my hand.
“That’s so cute, Jiminie!” I said with a smile. “Thank you!”
In return, he smiled and got back to his drink.
I was crushed by the amount of assignments I was due this week. I planned on an all-nighter to compete those. After some hours, I started to doze off in the library. My phone ranged and I woke up with a jerk, causing my coffee to fall on the ground.
“Shit!” I swore and picked up the phone, “Mom, I’m coming home late today. Don’t wait for me.” My mom asked me if I had dinner and I lied that I already had. Then she hung up.
I went to get another cup of coffee from the nearby café. When I came back, there was a meal kept on my place. It was third time this week. Someone is putting snacks for me whenever I’m at school.
I looked around to find it’s owner. But there was no one around. I set down and noticed a note attached to it.
“Don’t miss your dinner no matter how busy you are.”
Who was doing this? Was there anyone stalking me? My friend found it really cute that someone out there was buying me snacks and looking after me. To be honest, I found the attention amusing too. But this was getting out of hand. I desperately wanted to know who it was.
As I was really hungry and didn’t want to waste the meal, I opened it. There was a hamburger and sprite, my favourite. I smiled to myself and had them.
The next day, I found a box of cookies on the seat where I usually sit. My friend chuckled and said, “Here we go again. This person is really crushing on you so bad.”
“But this will do.” I said, “from now on, I’m not accepting anything unless I know who they are from.”
As I was about to raise from my seat the person sitting in front of me looked back and asked, “What are you gonna do with it?”
“I’m gonna throw it away.” I replied.
“But I thought you said you will accept them once you know who they are from.”
“Huh?” I was confused.
“Allow me to introduce myself” the person rose from his seat and stretched his hand toward me, “I’m Jung Hoseok.”
I was rubbing my face furiously removing the angry tears that was running down my cheeks. My stupid boyfriend, EX-boyfriend actually, broke up with me saying that I was a self centered bitch. Namjoon set beside me on the park bench and offered me the chocolate milkshake that he brought with him.
Since I was super upset I had called Namjoon to come earlier. I didn’t know why I did that exactly. But Namjoon was someone who would not judge me and support me unconditionally unlike my other friends.
I still refused to take the milkshake. Namjoon nodded and set there silently, waiting for me to break the silence first.
“Do you know, what he said?” I turned to Namjoon.
“It doesn’t matter as long as you don’t believe it yourself.” Namjoon said it as if it was the easiest thing to do. I knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to make me feel like it wasn’t my fault. He was trying to cheer me up in his own ways.
“I feel like I’m going to burst.” I said wiping my tears again.
“How about you break something?” Namjoon offers, “Maybe you’ll be at peace afterwards.”
I chuckled at this, “So, that’s why you keep breaking things?” Namjoon laughed shaking his head.
Suddenly something popped inside my mind. I went straight to my car and brought my diary with me. Namjoon looked confused, “Are you going to write on that?”
“Nope” I said, “I’m gonna burn it down to ashes.” And then I really did. I tore the pages one by one and put them on fire. The process was slow, but Namjoon waited and watched patiently. As I did it, the memories of my writing on my diary just how much I was in love with that little piece of shit, came back to me.
As soon as I was done destroying my favourite thing on earth, I broke down. I started to sob violently. Namjoon hugged me gently and stroked my hair. “It’s going to be okay, y/n. I’m always here for you.”
The next day, I woke up late. As soon as I went to the table for breakfast or lunch, whatever it was, my mom said, “Honey, you’re awake? One of your friends came this morning. He asked me not to wake you up and gave you this.” She handed me something wrapped in a gift like manner.
I went to my room and closed the door. I opened it up and found a cute ‘Koya’ diary inside. The note read, “Try writing about the reasons why you should love yourself instead. This might help.”
During my free time, I usually went to the library since I was a huge book nerd. I dreamt of having my own little library though I couldn’t buy books very often. So, the nearby library was my only option.
I was heading for the library when I met Suga on my way, “Oppa! What are you doing here?”
“I came back from the bookstore.” he held up the book he bought from the nearby bookstore. It was ‘The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy’ by Douglas Adams, one of the science fiction books I was dying to read.
“As far as I know, that book is not available in the library or the bookstore.” I said as a matter of fact.
“Really?” Suga looked startled, “Maybe you didn’t notice it, that’s all.”
“No!” I argued, “I specifically asked the owner about it and he said so himself.”
“Why would you specifically ask about this one?” he held up the book again.
I shrugged my shoulders, “Isn’t it obvious?”
“Oh yeah!” Suga nodded, “You told me about buying it online once.”
“Since it’s in the store, I’ll go take a look.” I was about to go when Suga stepped in front of me.
“You don’t have to.” He insisted, “take this one. I already regret buying it.”
“Why do you regret it already?”
“You know, y/n?” he showed clear sign of annoyance, “you talk unnecessarily too much.” He handed me the book and said, “I have to go now. Unlike you, I’m a very busy person.” And he was gone.
I was a little pissed at him for acting that way. I still went to the bookstore and found the owner. I showed him the book and asked if it was being bought from his store. He shook his head and told me they didn’t have that book yet.
“Yay!” I shouted with joy as I won the round of monopoly against Jin.
“How could I not see that coming!” Jin made a surprised face.
“Now, remember? What the deal was?” I reminded him about the deal we made earlier that whoever won would get to ask for something from the other.
“Anyeo!” Jin shook his head furiously, “Let me process this whole situation at first.”
I could hear Jungkook shouting from the couch, “Jin Hyung is messing with you. He won’t accept any defeat and you won’t get any reward as well.”
I would not let that happen. This was my first time winning any game against Jin. I would make sure Jin remembered it for the rest of his life.
“Mr. Kim Seokjin, accept your already pitiable defeat without embarrassing yourself any further.” I commanded.
“Alright, alright!” Jin finally gave up, “What do you want from me?”
“Let me think,” I said, “how about…”
“Don’t say anything,” Jin stopped me, “I have just the thing for you.”
I argued, “But you’re not supposed to choose the reward for me.”
Jin got up and went to his room without paying any heed to me. After a while, he came back with a box wrapped with some printed paper. He handed it to me and said, “Open it when you go home.”
“Alright!” he shouted at others, “everyone, come at once if you want to play another round of monopoly.”
As soon as I got home, I opened the wrapping paper and found what’s inside. It was a whole set of different kinds of colors, pens, stickers and notebooks. With them there was a note, “Good luck”.
Last week, I got accepted into the fashion school I was wishing to get into my whole life. When I told it to Jin, he didn’t even give any reaction to that other than just a “Good for you!”
But Jin had already prepared the gift beforehand. Now I knew why he had offered me to play a game with him. He really had his ways of doing things.

“why would we go on a date?” jungkook fought the frown that wanted to appear on his face. not again. this had to be the at least the third time this month he’s had the exact same conversation the morning after he slept with a woman he either got chatting to at a party or a local club. it was like every woman within a five mile radius had a meeting and collectively decided to sleep with him then never see him again afterwards. he didn’t want to seem pathetic, isn’t that exactly what the majority of guys his age wanted? in their eyes he had the perfect situation going on, constant sex when he wanted it with no strings attached. what he wanted to know however was how they dealt with the constant loneliness that occurred every time the hook up left? or the heartache that came when he saw a college couple walking around campus throwing their love in his face every morning at 8am? he tried not to be bitter, it was cute they found someone to spend their college years with. no he was bitter, so very bitter. he was a romantic at heart, so how did he get such a reputation that meant no woman ever wanted to even go on one date?

The double doors to the emergency room burst open with a team of paramedics meeting a team of nurses over the limp body that was being rushed in on a gurney.
"26-year-old male. One of many from the four-car pile-up on Highway 400. Blunt head trauma —shattered ribs, compound fractures in both legs. He's unconscious, showing premature signs of decline. We need to get him stabilized immediately."
"Prepare the operation room." One of the nurses orders and the chaos moves around the corner with the gurney.
A team of trauma surgeons and nurses worked frantically to stabilize him. He was quickly assessed for injuries, and diagnostic tests revealed the extent of the damage he had sustained
The man suffered from internal injuries, including a punctured lung and severe abdominal trauma. There was a point when doctors were sure he wouldn't make it but they were wrong.
After undergoing several surgeries in the first few days following the accident, including procedures to repair his fractured bones, remove damaged tissue, and stabilize his internal injuries he was beginning to show small signs of improvement.
However, it was only the beginning of a very long and hard journey for him.

"Where is she?" You stand up at the sight of your brother-in-law, Jin rushing into the waiting room of the labour and delivery wing. Face flushed and hair a bit frazzled. He'd obviously run here from the parking lot.
"Down the hall to your left. They're just running some tests and checking the baby." He pauses in his steps, letting it all sink in. Placing a hand on his chest as he tried to stabilize his breathing.
Taking the chance to place a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Everything is going to be okay, breathe." You encourage, taking tips from the Lamaze classes your sister had made the three of you take in preparation for this baby.
He smiles before making his way to his wife and out of sight.
Meanwhile, you stayed put in the waiting room as your sister made it very clear she did not want you in the room any time her vagina was out and you weren't going to argue.
Seeing that the doctors needed to check up on the baby once the two of you arrived no less than 15 minutes ago, you had already excused yourself to the hall.
Once you saw the familiar nurse you remember being assigned to your sister walk past you, you deemed it was safe enough to return to her room. Knocking first with your hand over your eyes.
There was soft laughter, "It's been put away, you can open your eyes." Eunji says, allowing you to lower your palm from your gaze to see Seokjin sitting on a chair nestled near Eunji's bedside.
"Wow, they've got you hooked up like a TV." You snort, pointing to the IV drip, pulse oximeter, and various other tubes taped to her arm.
Shaking her head at your typical Y/n-Antics but refusing to acknowledge your joke any further. "What did the nurse say?" Jin asks, almost anxiously, taking her hand in his.
"The baby is fine, she's healthy, but I'm a long way from giving birth. Apparently-" Eunji pauses, her eyes squeezing shut just as they did back at your place when the two of you discovered she'd been having contractions.
Taking deep breaths she opens her eyes and resumes speaking as if it never happened, "Apparently I'm only one centimeter dilated. I'm already tired of this place." She pouts sadly while Jin gently moves a stray hair from out of her face.
You sighed internally, hoping that one day you'd find that.
"I'm just glad you guys made it here safely. The roads are getting worse with that blizzard coming in tonight." Jin shares which prompts you to check your phone while the couple talks about what a normal couple would discuss at a time like this.
Jin was right. There in fact was a blizzard heading your way and it was nasty. Up to six feet of snow in some regions and harsh winds. It was practically impossible to see the road through all the flurries on your way here.
It was unsafe for anyone to be driving at a time like this hence why Eunji had already begged your parents to stay home until the roads were safe. No matter how much she knew your parents wanted to be present for the birth of their first grandchild it was just too dangerous.
This winter was packed with a punch this year. You can't forget the first major storm of the season about two months ago that blindsided everyone.
The severity of the storm dawns on you as you remember driving past a nasty collision on the highway on your way home from work.
You could only hope that this would be the end of the strenuous icy season and that spring would be just around the corner. You were looking forward to the blossoming season of spring but not as much as you were looking forward to holding your niece in your arms in just a few short hours.
𓆩♡𓆪
Clearly, you and your niece weren't on the same page.
It's been 4 hours and the hospital was on lockdown, any visitors in the building were forbidden from leaving due to the severity of the storm outside. Honestly, some part of you believed you would have been able to hold your niece and go home all in the last three hours, but oh how you were wrong.
"What do you mean you're only 3 centimetres along?" You say, exhausted from waiting. "Oh, I'm sorry Y/n, are you tired? How inconsiderate of me!" She exclaims, clearly annoyed with you.
You dropped your shoulders, you deserved that. Eunji had been battling her contractions restlessly for hours on end, you couldn't imagine how she felt.
"Do you want me to get you anything?" She shakes her head while Jin returns with a full cup of ice for her to chew on. Your stomach rumbles, and not quietly.
"You should go down to the cafeteria and get something to eat. I'll stay with Eunji." Jin offers and you nod, deciding it was time for a break anyway.
With your bag slung over your shoulder, you stood in the café line, unsure what to get before deciding to get a typical iced coffee and a turkey sandwich.
Once it came time to find a spot, your eyes were scanning every nook and cranny of the filled cafeteria due to the overwhelming number of people trapped in this building just as you were.
Finally, you found one available spot, at an occupied table. "Is anyone sitting here?" You ask the man who was enjoying his own coffee. "It's all yours," He smiles and you reciprocate it as you take a seat.
Paying him no mind as you bite into your meal and pull out the book you've been reading over the last few weeks.
"The String of Fate," The man across from you mumbles as he reads the title of your book causing your eyes to flicker to his. "What's it about?" You close the book almost too eagerly.
"Do you believe in soulmates?" He blinks at you.
"Y'know, like two people that are destined to be together no matter the time or place." His brow arches. "Not a chance." You frown, "Well, basically this book explains the concept of soulmates and how they're connected by this invisible string between them that will always guide them back to each other. No matter the time or place."
He sighs heavily, head now resting on his hand. "I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and assume that you believe in soulmates?"
"What's there not to believe? It makes total sense-" You ask, about to take your first bite of your sandwich. "I wouldn't eat that if I were you," He says quickly, and you close your mouth, placing the sandwich back down.
"Why not?" He simply stares at you, "Trust me. I've been here long enough to know." You nod slowly, "You must visit a lot."
With a shrug of his shoulders, he finishes the last of his coffee, "Something like that." He mumbles.
Your stomach reminds you of the hunger you'd just permitted to exist longer all in the name of this handsome stranger you'd just met. "So what can I eat here?"
He grins and your stomach twists.
"Follow me." You pack up your stuff and stand. Unable to process your thoughts once the man moves away from the table in his wheelchair.
"Oh c'mon, don't give me that look." He sighs.
"What look?" You counter, genuinely confused.
"That look of 'oh my gosh, he's in a wheelchair. Now everything is different.'" He says in a slightly raised tone.
"First of all, I didn't think that at all. I was just shocked." He looked almost deflated until you spoke up, "So are we still getting jello or what?" He smiles, leading the way.
-
"Hey! Hey! Mister Lightning McQueen, do you mind slowing down a bit? Or at least tell me your name so I don't have to keep yelling mister." You pant, finally catching up to him at the end of the hall.
"Sorry." He flushes a light pink before a quick clearing of his throat, "I'm Jungkook." He stretches his hand and you shake it gently, "Y/n." You say, the two of you hold hands a little longer than necessary before a visitor attempts to get by and you pull your hand away first.
Fast forward to the two of you sitting on the chairs in god knows which wing of the hospital, the building was so damn big. Licking the spoons of your delicious cherry jello as you were both facing the window that looked out into the midnight sky.
"So what brings you here tonight?" He asks as he scoops around his cup for another spoonful. "My sister is giving birth. At least that's what I thought was supposed to happen but the baby doesn't want to come yet." He laughs, "That's amazing. Not the part about the baby holding your sister's womb hostage but- you know what I'm trying to say."
Unable to control your laughter at his bizarre wording, "Yeah, I get it." A silence falls between the two of you, sitting on your shoulders. You wanted to say something but you weren't sure- "It's okay, Y/n. You can ask." He speaks without even looking at you. Focused on getting his next spoon of jello.
"How did you end up here?" You ask and Jungkook begins the age-old story. He was coming home from work during that crazy storm 2 months ago. He said he didn't remember much from the actual accident, one second he's in his lane and the next there's an eighteen-wheeler sliding right into him and dragging two others in with him.
"I don't even remember being rushed in here, I just remember waking up 3 days later and the doctors telling me I was lucky to be alive. Telling me I had basically injured every bone I had. Head trauma, shattered ribs, a punctured lung, fractured both my legs- and the list goes on."
Your jaw falls open. Hand raising to cover your mouth for two reasons.
"You really are lucky to be alive."
It seems that Jungkook disagrees, "Yet I don't feel all that lucky. I wake up to the same faces, getting poked at and pricked every hour. Going to rehab every other day, my body hurts constantly. I can't even count how many painkillers and antibiotics I take every morning." You frown.
"I'm grateful to be making progress of course, but sometimes It feels like the world is passing me by while I'm standing still-- or sitting, for that matter.." You'd never connected to anything more.
"I totally understand. Under different circumstances of course, but I think I get what you mean. Ever since I was 7 I'd had this perfect vision of how my life should be by the time I was 25. A nice house, with a loving husband and maybe a baby on the way with my six-figure paying job but here I am, 26, sitting in a waiting room, single, waiting for my sister to have a baby so that I can go home to my office job that sure as hell doesn't pay enough for a nice house."
Your story provokes a soft chuckle to come rumbling from Jungkook's chest and you swat at him. "And it's like, you want to take steps forward but it's almost like you can't because everything is out of your control. The most decisive factor of a good life is controlled by everyone but you. It sucks." Jungkook expands on your thoughts further and you'd never felt so seen before.
"I-" You begin but the PA system begins to blare someone's voice as they make an announcement.
"Code Yellow. Code Yellow." Jungkook's vision darts to his wristwatch. "Shit. It's been an hour already?" You weren't following, "What's going on?" Jungkook begins to roll back, tossing away his garbage in the bin while you stand and do the same.
"Code yellow is just their dramatic way of declaring a patient is missing. Although-" His eyes fly past you and to whoever was behind you, it was a furious nurse. "Jeon Jungkook." She says and he groans, "I know- I know."
Jungkook hardly got to speak before he was being pushed away back to wherever his room was. "I hope your sister has a safe delivery." You stand still in the middle of the hall as you watch Jungkook get whisked out of sight.
Unable to stop thinking about how disappointed he looked once that nurse appeared. Clearly, he didn't want to go back. You couldn't shake what he told you, about seeing the same people every day, following the same painful routine.
You wondered if he had any family that visited him.
Speaking of which, it was time for you to return to your own.
𓆩♡𓆪
7 hours later you were finally holding the most perfect baby girl in your arms. "She's beautiful, Eunji," you say tearfully, staring at the adorable infant who was just so tiny in your arms.
"I can't believe I'm holding your baby right now." You say to no one in particular while Seokjin stands behind you looking down at the baby, he looks like he's still in awe himself.
Carefully passing her back into your sister's tired arms. You had the honour of taking their first family photo. With Seokjin's eyes full of love and your sister displaying the happiest smile you'd ever seen.
"She's perfect." You hear him whisper with a kiss to Eunji's forehead and your heart just about melts at the heartwarming sight.

The moment that you left that hospital that morning you felt almost... sad? Like you had a happiness hangover. You were truly overjoyed, you finally got to meet your niece and you met Jungkook who left an unanticipated imprint on your brain.
You tapped your nails against the desk in your cubicle, your bottom lip tucked between your teeth as your eyes glanced at the time at the bottom of the computer screen.
Your break was in 20 minutes, you had an hour to do whatever and sure, you could spend it here continuing your work so that you could go home earlier...but the hospital is nearby...
No more than a 10-minute drive.. maybe you could drop by? Just for a little?
You didn't leave yourself much time to debate it as you were already marching out of the office the moment the clock hit 12. You'd decided to pick up some flowers from the gift shop on your way up.
Following the receptionist's instructions that she gave you to locate his room with a nervous click of your heels with each step. What if he didn't want to see you? Does he even remember you?
You saw him through the glass window briefly and adjusted yourself to an angle where he couldn't see you. He was just laying there. Staring up at the ceiling, but he sat up once a nurse walked in.
It seemed that she was doing some routine checkups before pricking him with a needle of some kind. You'd always been the type to squirm with needles yet he was unfazed, it was like he couldn't even feel it.
Once she left she passed you with a small smile. Slowly you walk to the door and his gaze slowly drags towards you. His eyes smile before his lips, and he sits up.
"Y/n!" He says with such a joyful tone, you would never expect the voice to belong to someone sitting in a hospital bed. "Hi," You say, unsure of what to do with the flowers.
"Don't tell me you're still waiting for your sister to give birth." He says with a little sarcasm and you laugh with a shake of your head. "No, little miss Seol-a came fashionably late."
"As in 'snow child'? That's a perfect name." You agree. Watching him as his gaze drops to your arms. "Oh- These are for you." Bringing the small bouquet of tiger lilies to him, he accepts it gratefully.
"Thank you-- Really, you didn't have to. You visiting me is more than enough of a gift, and they're Tiger Lilies, too. Fun fact, that's actually my birth flower." It was like a lightbulb had gone off in your head but you ignored it.
Maybe that was just a coincidence, but you didn't like that word. You preferred to use something much stronger, that starts with an 'F', and ends with an 'ate'.
"Pull up a chair, please. I don't want to be the only one sitting." He insists, gesturing to the chair near the wall and you bring it a bit closer.
Letting out a soft sigh of relief once you were off your feet, "God, I hate heels." You mutter, "I'm guessing you have to wear them for that magical job of yours," Your face turns sour, "Magic isn't the word I'd use to describe it,"
Just like that the two of you fell down a rabbit hole of conversation, exchanging work experiences and even phone numbers at one point.
"So tell me, Y/n. In a perfect world, if you could just drop everything, what would you do?" You pretended to give it thought as if you hadn't known for the last decade. "I'd want to open a hair salon... Is that crazy? I don't think I've ever actually said that out loud before."
"What's stopping you?" You laugh, a little too hard, thinking of the dozens of reasons why it wasn't practical and way too impulsive but the longer you looked at his neutral expression you began to reflect on the reasons.
And they all came back to the same root, "What if I fail?" He shrugs, "You can't fail unless you give up." You couldn't believe you were actually considering this. Shaking your head dramatically, clearing your brain.
"You're such a bad influence, y'know? I can't believe you really almost made me do that." His bunny-like smile is on display when he speaks, "That wasn't me, that was your instinct. For a brief second, you just listened to your heart."
Woah.
"Wanna see something cool?" His hand raises and gestures to his lower body, and you watch as the blankets begin to stretch over the small peak that began to form under the covers as he bends his left knee slightly.
"Jungkook! That's incredible." You gasped, eyes wide and you weren't sure what came over you, but before you knew it you'd taken him in your arms.
His body was still a bit weak but his arms responded almost immediately. Holding you still for the short duration of the hug before you pulled away.
"Are you okay- I'm sorry, did I hurt you-" A small panic consumes you as Jungkook's eyes tint a faint red and well with tears. "No, no. You didn't do anything wrong. It's just been so long since someone's been so happy for me."
His words weighed down in your chest like a pile of bricks. "Does no one visit you?"
"All my friends and family came to visit right after the accident. Then it was just my best friends and my parents who came a few times a week. Soon people don't have time to visit someone who makes such little progress every day."
He continues to explain, "But I don't hold it against them. It's a time commitment. The real world is more demanding than I am and I just can't wait for the day I get to meet them out there."
Gently placing your hand on top of his, "You're gonna be out of here before you know it-" A familiar ringer goes off in your bag. You pull out your phone and stop the alarm. "Well, my break ends soon." You stand and you tell yourself that you're imagining the small frown peels over his lips.
Putting the chair back where you found it you walk to the door. "Bye Jungkook, it was good to see you again." With that, you walk away and Jungkook is left in despair. That was it? It's over?
You were just gonna walk into his room and bless him with the most revitalizing conversation he's ever had and you're leaving?
Before he gets the chance to deflate into his pillows your head pops back into the doorframe, "See you tomorrow." You wink and vanish once again. Knowing that you'd given him a little wave of sadness at first.
His shoulders shake with laughter, relieved.
𓆩♡𓆪
Staying true to your word, you in fact did go back to visit him the next day, except you went after your shift since 40 minutes simply wasn't enough time.
For the first few weeks of your daily visits, Jungkook was afraid that one day you would stop coming and he wouldn't see you again, but once three months had passed, there was no doubt in his mind he would walk out of this hospital without you by his side.
You'd even met his parents once, by accident of course. You were just leaving when they'd been walking in and of course, they had no idea who you were.
Telling them about how the two of you met was quite entertaining, Accidentally mentioning the part where Jungkook had been called a missing patient which earned him a soft pinch to his arm from his mother.
But you'll never forget the words his mother whispered in your ear as she hugged you. "Thank you for loving my son." Your cheeks flushed and you stuttered, trying to clarify things but she didn't want to hear it.
"It's okay, I know." She says with the most subtle of winks before walking off with her husband who shook your hand graciously.
Not every day was full of laughs and feasts that you'd bring him from the outside world, there were definitely down days. Days when the pain would call for a stronger dose of his medications which left him burnt out and groggy.
But there were also good days like today. You had the honour of helping Jungkook take some of his first steps for a few feet before being right behind him with the wheelchair.
You weren't able to stop your tears while Jungkook apologized to the physical therapist for your constant crying. You cried every time you saw him move on his own, but he thinks it's cute.
It's evident how much you care about him. By now your entire family knew about your blossomed friendship, and it seems he was all you could talk about. He could only hope that you knew how much he cared about you.
He would love to surprise you at work one day with lunch or take you to your favourite places. Alas, that was among the list of things he unfortunately couldn't control but promised to do once he got out.
He had a section of notes dedicated to you and all the places he would take you, it's what he always hid against his chest anytime you tried peaking.
-
"You won't believe what I just did!" Those are the first words that escape your mouth in the most dramatic of ways as you practically burst into his room.
He jolts, his book now falling forgotten from his fingers, you'd startled him and you apologized. You weren't usually here at noon. So he welcomes your explanation with a warm smile and curious eyes.
"So I went to work this morning, and they called us all in for a meeting. I was expecting another spontaneous workshop about professional behaviour or something. They drop this huge bomb on us that the company is downsizing so they're laying off a third of the company and basically cutting everyone's salary in half." It all comes out in a single breath, so you give yourself some time to breathe.
Jungkook wasn't following, "This sounds like... bad news? Am I missing something? Why do you look so happy?"
"Because I quit my job. I've been thinking about what you said for a while now, about following my heart, and I think I've always been waiting for some kind of sign or opportunity to just go for it, so today was the day." Now that you'd finally gotten the jitters out, you pulled up a chair.
"I know it's crazy, I don't know what I was thinking, but I just got off the phone with one of the property managers of those empty studios downtown and it was all so exciting and I don't even know where I'm going to get the money but I think I can-"
Jungkook finally silenced you with his lips.
He kissed you.
His lips were soft as they worked against yours. You could feel him smile as the kiss deepened. You moved out of your chair to the bed without breaking contact. Pulling away briefly for air but resuming as though you couldn't be apart for more than a second.
You weren't sure when you'd ended up on top of him with Jungkook on his back and your hips grinding down onto his softly, still a bit cautious.
"You have-" He kisses down your neck, peppering kisses between his words, "-No idea-" His lips kissing right below your ear, "-How long I've wanted to kiss you." His teeth gently nibble on the skin of your ear causing a whine to escape your lips.
Suddenly there was a fast beeping and it was only getting faster.
A nurse walks in and you just about throw yourself off of Jungkook and onto the ground. "What's going on in here? Your heart rate was way too fast, Mr. Jeon." He bites his lip nervously while you get yourself on your feet.
"Sorry, Nurse Lynn. I was just trying some new exercises and I guess I got a bit carried away." He says the last part with a lustful look in his eye when he glances towards you.
Once she left you let your hand cover your mouth in pure shock, laughing uncontrollably. "Oh my god, I can't believe that just happened." Jungkook throws his head back onto the pillows with a heavy breath.
"Those nurses can't let me have shit in here. I can't even rub one out in the shower without them barging in." Your jaw drops, "It's happened more times than I'd like to speak about." The shame that seems to swallow him up makes you laugh even harder.
-
"How's the salon going?" He's the first to ask you once you walk out of the bathroom and your shoulders drop. Taking a seat beside him on the bed, "It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. My contractor is being a total pain in the ass, but at least it's starting to come together, look-"
You swipe through the photos of the empty studio that was now painted. "I can't wait to see it." He says, and you look away from the screen. Focusing on his beautiful brown eyes. "Me too." He steals a sweet kiss from you before resuming his swipe through your phone with a cheeky grin.
For the first time, you noticed how empty his left arm was compared to his right. His right arm was covered in tattoos that the two of you had spent nearly an hour talking about once, while his left arm was blank.
"Why don't you have any tattoos on your left arm?" He places down your phone, making eye contact with you once again. "I wanna save it for something special, something meaningful, like the Batman symbol." His nerdy remark makes you snort.
𓆩♡𓆪
"Hi Jungko-Oh." This was unusual.
Of all the times you'd visited Jungkook, there was probably only one other time where you'd caught him sleeping, although that was a late night. It was only sometime around 3 in the afternoon.
You didn't want to disturb him, so you left him a little sticky note for him to read when he wakes up. You didn't want him to think that you never came.
The following day the two of you were having a bit of a hard time getting Jungkook out of bed. "I thought you wanted to do some more walking?" You offer, standing with his walker but he laid back unmotivated.
"Not today, maybe another day. I'm just a bit tired." He mumbles and you nod, "Oh. Okay." But your heart wasn't settled, something was wrong.
The week continued with his slow responses and fatigue. "Are you okay?" He hums, his eyes shutting tight as he grunts softly. "Yeah, just got a bit of a headache, that's all. I'll be better by tomorrow." He reassures you, and you insist on getting him some water.
"Nurse Lynn." You call out for the Nurse as you cross paths as you return from refilling Jungkook's water bottle. She stops and begins to approach you. "Jungkook has been acting a bit off lately. He's been really tired and he says he has a headache and I just want to know if anything is going on."
You can see that she really begins to think about anything it could be. You follow her as she goes off to check his charts. Looking through the window, Jungkook had already fallen asleep.
"His numbers seem to be fine, but we'll keep a close eye on them tonight and run some tests in the morning." Leaving you with a reassuring hand on your shoulder, but you still didn't feel any better.
You went home to your parents' house. You'd moved back home after impulsively quitting your job since there was no way you'd be able to afford your old apartment anymore. Besides, this arrangement made the most sense.
Now you were able to save your money and focus on your salon. The salon Jungkook had inspired you to open, god you couldn't stop thinking about him. Something felt off.
"Y/n?" Your dad snaps his fingers in front of you, finally catching your attention. "Sorry- What?"
"Your mom and I were wondering if you'd be joining us for dinner or if you already ate." You shake your head slowly, "It's okay, I'm not hungry."
"Is everything okay?'' Your stretches her neck from where she sat on the couch. "I don't know. Jungkook's been acting off lately and I just don't know if everything is okay." Anyone who heard you could hear the worry that wavered in your tone. You wanted nothing more than for him to be okay.
"Oh, honey." Your parents hugged you and for a moment you felt like everything was going to be okay.
Until it wasn't.
-
It was around 2 in the morning when you'd gotten a call from Jungkook's mom.
He'd gone into a coma.
You didn't find yourself to be a religious person yet you found yourself praying to any god in the sky who was listening as you drove to the hospital that he would be okay.
Running through the halls, letting out careless apologies to those you nearly bumped into as you did so. "What happened?!" You say frantically, his mother was in no state to speak, her eyes were bloodshot and her lips quivered whenever she tried to speak.
Instead, his father took on the role to tell you, "The doctors said there were unforeseen complications from his accident. There was some inflammation in his brain that went undetected and was applying pressure to his brain stem which is why he was experiencing those headaches and fatigue. They've done all they can to reduce the swelling, but there's no guarantee he'll-"
His dad struggles to finish his sentence, choking up a bit himself at the possibility of Jungkook never waking up. "C-Can I see him?" You swallow back your tears and that sore feeling in your throat as you walk in slowly.
You didn't want to cry, but the moment you saw him hooked up to all those machines, the same ones he hated so much, the way his body lay so still, it broke you.
Your cries came out more as wails than anything else, you couldn't say anything but his name. You weren't just crying, you were begging, pleading with the gods to spare him.
"Y/n-" You hear his dad's voice behind you, catching you in his arms just as you fall to your knees. He could have never anticipated a reaction quite like this one. It seems he underestimated how much Jungkook meant to you.
Now he knows.
All his friends and family knew.
As they trickled in and out of Jungkook's hospital room over the following weeks they would see you sitting by his side, the same way you did all the days before.
His mom liked to say you were there more than Jungkook was. She knew he was lucky, he'd found something special with you. A kind of love that was rare to come across these days.
You spent every waking moment beside him until visiting hours were over, and would be back the next morning the moment they begin. Your parents told you to keep yourself busy with your salon and you tried, but how could you when everything inside reminded you of him?
Today was a quiet day, with no visitors or flowers for you to find space for as his room was filled. You focused on reading to him. You'd been told that hearing familiar voices can help to stimulate brain activity and you were willing to do anything.
"As Batman ran through the dark streets of Gotham-" You chuckled to yourself, unable to take the story seriously.
According to his parents, this was his favourite comic book growing up, and you'd been reading it to him for the last few days, and yet you still weren't interested in DC.
You rummaged through the bag of books you had on the side, your fingertips grasped the familiar cover that started it all. "The String of Fate" You mumble, a soft smile as the title takes you back to the night you met.
Back then he was nothing more than an opinionated patient on the loose, and now, he was everything.
You opened the book, going back to the page you'd bookmarked as a favourite. Deciding to read it out loud for the sake of Jungkook hearing your voice.
"In the garden of destiny, soulmates blossom, each petal a reflection of the other's beauty, each leaf a testament to their shared growth. Together, they tend to the soil of their dreams, nurturing them with the water of their love, as they chase the sunsets of tomorrow, hand in hand, forever intertwined."
Your voice began to shake halfway through, and your tears landed on every other word. You closed the book, placing it back in the bag so that you could take Jungkook's hands in yours.
"Please," You whispered, "I love you."
It was no surprise to anyone. You had nothing but love for the man who changed your world for the better. He had no idea how much space he takes up in your head, your heart. It's his, it belongs to him.
"Can we come in?" There are soft knocks on the door and you're pleasantly surprised to see Jin and your sister, assuming the baby was with your parents.
"Thank you for coming," You hug them both, "If there's someone important enough that you went MIA during my labour, then I have to meet him." Eunji says jokingly and you smile sadly, "I just wish you got to meet under better circumstances."
The days turned to night then day once again, and the pattern continued endlessly for the following month. It just continued to repeat in this painful process of dwindling hope.
Nothing could have prepared you for the devastating conversation with the doctor this morning.
"Please understand, during this difficult time, we have carefully monitored Jungkook's minimal brain activity. Given the duration of his coma and after our intensive examination of his condition, if there were indications for a potential recovery leading to him waking up, we would have observed signs by now. I know this news is incredibly challenging to hear but-"
His mother wept.
"We're so sorry." The doctor says as if it was rehearsed, you couldn't imagine how many times he'd had to give such gut-wrenching news to other families.
You listened with a broken heart, unable to cry. You were all out of tears. You'd cried and cried your heart out all month, you couldn't bear the thought of it all being for such a tragic conclusion.
-
That was almost a week ago, you'd remained by Jungkook's side regardless. Never leaving, not moving.
"Y/n, Honey. You've been here all day, when's the last time you ate something, hm?" His mom gently tilted your chin upwards, you looked pale in colour and your eyes were dull with sorrow.
"I don't know, Tuesday maybe?"
It's Thursday night.
"Go." She orders, and you know that tone. She wasn't willing to negotiate this with you. She'd begun to care for you like a daughter of her own, and as much as she respected and adored your dedication to her son, it was just as important that you were healthy.
Still following Jungkook's advice, you avoided most of the shops in the cafeteria except for a select few that he deemed sanitary. Sitting at one of the tables by yourself, you poked at your food, not all that hungry but you took bites anyway.
Taking a long sip from your water bottle you ignored the buzzing from your phone. You're sure it's just the contractors giving you a hard time again. You were set to open in a few months from now and you'd never felt more grateful for your mom stepping in to help while you were.. away.
Your phone buzzes once more, you finally check the messages.
Ever since that night, every time Mrs. Jeon messaged you, it left you with a pit in your stomach, quite like the one in your stomach right now.
She was calling you back to Jungkook's room immediately.
Completely abandoning your half-eaten meal on the table as you rushed back up to the room you'd begun to know like the back of your hand.
There his parents were, teary-eyed as they sat outside his room, making calls and texting loved ones. Soon you saw a team of nurses walking out of his room with some medical technology that you're sure had very complicated names and--
Oh no.
Your brain was putting the pieces together. What was once a pit had evolved into a full-fledged sinkhole. Your hands were shaking as you walked into the room, eyes landing on his body, not expecting to meet his familiar brown orbs.
They blinked at you slowly. Just like the first time you'd visited, they smiled before his lips did. "There she is," His voice was weak, understandably but it still had that softness to it.
Your body was overwhelmed and unable to make any coherent sounds. You were standing still as a statue. You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth to stop your lips from quivering but you couldn't stop it.
Your breathing became shallow and the sound of your heart drumming in your ears seemed much louder than it did a minute ago. You felt like your eyes were playing tricks on you.
"Is it-" Your voice airy and broken, not wanting this to be a dream. You so desperately needed this to be real. He nods slowly with a grin, "It's me." Just when you thought you had no more tears left, there were more spilling down your cheeks.
Finally picking up your feet and walking over to him with broken sobs, meeting him at the side of the bed. On your knees with his arms around you while you held him in yours. "I thought I lost you." You swat him with teary eyes and a small laugh.
"You can never lose me, Y/n, and I want to make sure of that." He says, and your head tilts instinctively. "What do you mean?"
"Marry me."
Eyes wide and your mouth nearly kissing the floor.
"You can't be serious," Oh how you hoped he was serious.
"You've been by my side every step of the way. When I walk through those hospital doors one last time, I want to be beside the woman I love. Let me spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you've made me." Now he was the one getting misty eyes.
Your mouth struggled to keep up with the eager nodding of your head. "Yes." Holding his face in your hands and kissing him like you'd longed to do for weeks.
Finally.
"Wait- You don't have a ring," Jungkook leans slightly for the box of band-aids on the side table. "Jungkook, I don't need-'' Your efforts go in vain as he shushes you kindly, taping the band-aid around your ring finer.
"It's symbolic for now until I can get you the real thing."
-
Nothing could have prepared you for the busy year ahead of you. Between visiting Jungkook, opening a salon and planning a wedding things were beginning to get chaotic but it all seemed to fade in importance once Jungkook finally got to go home.
And you were right, he was home just in time for Thanksgiving, and he had a lot to be thankful for. He made that clear during his speech at your parents' annual Thanksgiving dinner.
The fact he was able to stand for it was reason enough. Although he wasn't able to walk far distances, he was improving every day, and it just warmed your heart.
Your speech wasn't nearly as tear-jerking as Jungkook's was, but you still had a lot to be grateful for. Just looking around the table from where you stood, smiling at your parents, your sister with Jin and Seol-a, Jungkook's parents, and Jungkook, of course.
Everything you ever wanted was right in front of you.
Keeping your speech short and sweet, "And I know she's grateful for that huge rock on her finger." Eunji whispers loudly causing the table to erupt in a fit of giggles, the tips of your ears turn red as you smile shyly.
From Thanksgiving to the opening day of your Salon. Staring up to look at your name written out in a cursive font across the top of the building you were in awe. "Pinch me," you mutter sarcastically, not expecting Jungkook to actually pinch you.
With a pout you rubbed the pink mark he left on your arm as the two of you walked into the moderately busy salon. Your mom had sent out flyers and emails about the opening day all season.
You wouldn't have been able to do it without her.
"I'm so proud of you," Jungkook whispers and you turn to face him with the look of a puppy. "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you," He shakes his head, "I didn't do anything. This was all you, all you had to do was listen to your heart." Giving him one of those upside-down smiles you wrap your arms around him, talking into his chest.
"I can't wait to marry you."
Before you knew it, the wait was over.
Today is the day.
You could only stress about one day so much, you'd gone over every last detail down to the very inch and you were sure it was going to be perfect, after all, you'd had it all planned out in your head since you were 7 and Jungkook was more than happy oblige, 'as long as I get to marry you', he would say.
Your wedding was beautiful, it left your guests breathless the moment they entered the venue and the ceremony hadn't even begun yet.
Your wedding had its own special and heartfelt twist to it. Instead of Jungkook standing ready at the altar, he had the honour of picking a heartfelt song to walk down the aisle to with no arm crutches or wheelchair to support him. Nothing but his parents on either side holding one of his arms.
Some of the audience cheered while some let their tears fall quietly, knowing how far Jungkook had come to get to this point. Once he made it to the front, his best man, Jimin, handed him his arm crutches once again.
Soon the rest of the bridal party had made their way down the aisle, prompting the audience to stand. All heads turned to the grand double doors that soon opened as a romantic instrumental of "Look After You" began to play.
Jungkook could hardly see you from the distance he was standing but just knowing that you were walking towards him had him choking up already.
By the time he really could see you, he couldn't. His eyes are cloudy with tears until Jimin hands him his pocket square to wipe his eyes. Blinking the rest of his tears away, he smiles at you.
You looked beautiful.
Like God's most perfect creation sent down from heaven. There you were, smiling back at him with those angel eyes of yours. It would be a lie to say you didn't want to cry but the last thing you wanted was to ruin your makeup.
However, you weren't so strong when it came time to listen to Jungkook's vows after just finishing yours.
"You once asked me if I believed in soulmates, and I remember saying it was a load of crap. I had no idea they were sitting right in front of me. Your unconditional and unchanging demonstration of love has completely changed me from the inside out. Through you, I breathe again, and for you, my heart beats. Today, I give you more than just my word. I give you mind, I give you my soul, my everything. I pray from this day forward we will chase the sunsets of tomorrow, hand in hand, forever."
The last part he recites from the passage of your book you'd read to him while he was still unconscious. Your makeup is now a victim to the stream of hot, salty tears that flowed from your eyes, "You heard me." You say just loud enough for only him to hear you. He smiles. "I heard you."
With no more tears and the unravelling of a touching ceremony,
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
This was it. The moment Jungkook had been anticipating for months. Unclipping himself from the crutches around his arms, he hands them to Jimin.
He stretches out his arms dramatically, pretending to crack his neck.
Carefully taking your face in his hands, knowing how important it was to you that he didn't smudge anything, but your lipstick was going to need some reapplication after the way he pivoted and swooped you down for the most passionate of kisses.
The kind where your leg raises in the air while the photographer gets the money shot, capturing the bright smiles all around.
As if it was possible, the reception was even better than the ceremony. The toasts were both funny and touching. All eyes were on the happy couple who sat at their special table on the elevated platform for all to see.
Unable to hear what was being said but they could only assume it was something heartfelt based on the way your hands had clasped over your mouth.
Jungkook had just rolled up the sleeve of his left arm, showing you a new tattoo that you'd never seen. It was a delicate dark vine that wrapped around his forearm, with blossoming flowers, encircling the words 'Garden of Destiny', just like from your book.
"Are those-" You point to the types of flowers, "Tiger Lilies and Cosmos, your birth flower? Yeah." You pout, "Please don't cry, you'll be so upset if you ruin your makeup." He gently moves a loose strand of your hair from your face with the same hand you'd just been examining, and that's when it hits you.
"It's on your left arm." He grins,
"Of course it is."
