Tadahhh!!! My July monthly spread. Its "vacation season" so I don't have many goals, but I liked the #washitape , so it stays. If you can't tell, I have a *bit* of a #fox theme going on. 🦊💖 ° The #foxwashi is from @papergame.co and I loved it so much, I bought two samples and then a whole roll when it became available in the shop! I started unpacking and took a #sneakpeek picture of goodies I found on my travels 🦊❤🗺🚅🚌🛣🚤🛫 ° Leocadia and I arrived home yesterday evening after a few weeks visiting family in #newengland ! We had #fun and #adventure and went on a couple #expeditions to #museums and areas of interest. ° We spent lots of time with family, especially with my Gran 💖, went #swimming, and got to ride in some boats on #lakewinnipesaukee . Happy May 1st! I've gotten a couple more #bulletjournal #weeklylayouts done for the month of #May and I'm showing a recap of what I've done so far. I continued the #rainbowtheme I had started in April. Seeing such bright colors makes me smile every time I open my #bujo to update my info and review what needs to be done.🦊❤📖 For the 3rd week of May, I decided on a bright paisley print that I painted with #watercolorpencils, then I covered it in #vellumpaper, drew my latout, and edged the borders with strips of silver #washitape 💖 The 4th week of May features a very special piece that Leocadia painted just for my #bujo 😍 She saw that I was using #rainbowcolors and painted a background with her prettiest colors.🌈 I had her help me overlay the background with vellum paper and drew the layout. Then she picked out her favorite #washi for borders and accents. We are qyite a creative team! This has been my WIP over the last few days. My friend, the fabulous @brimalaspino , has done beautiful Mehndi work and she inspired me to try doing a mandala for my #bulletjournal * The mandala was drawn with a #sakuramicron pen and, accented with gold foil #washitape , and then colored with #watercolorpencils * Since I didn't want to cover up and mar all the intricate work I had just done, I used thin vellum to create my weekly spread overlay. In 2011, I made a glorious queen-size quilt for my first apartment with my then-fiance. It was a big project for a first-time quilter, but it worked out and has made me very happy. And I made a small #lapquilt for my grandmother for Christmas two years ago. I have been promising my mum a handmade quilt for YEARS now, but life kept interrupting, so I put this big project on the back-burner five years ago. I had bought most the fabric I thought I would need to make a simple block quilt with red, white, and blue square repeating pattern, but it ended up in boxes as I moved. Flash forward to two weeks ago. I was rifling through my craft hoard *ahem* stash and found the bag that contained all the fabric!😄 I realized that just simple squares wasn't going to do my work justice or her justice, so I made a plan and decided to sew my first #piecedquilt for her. She served in the Army and was a Field Artillery Officer, back when very few women had any major roles in combat positions. I am proud of her service and wanted to make a "patriotic" quilt for her. So, using the red, white, and blue fabric, I've come up with this! The quilt will initially be sewn on my sewing machine, then #handquilted by me. It'll be perfect as a throw blanket and fits a twin-size bed. I have the first row finished for the #quiltblocks and have 5 more rows to sew. I'm meeting the contractor we hired to re-fix our bathroom (and other stuff as time/money allows) at #homedepot soon, but wanted to share some #coffeelove with @wafflehouseofficial this morning😘 and share some #hugs&love with all of you, too!🦊❤ I added some more goodies to make my #bulletjournal more functional for me. I sewed an elastic tie-around to my #bujo to help hold my essential pens and pencil! Over the past two days, I got a yearning to go shopping and ended up finding some AWESOME sales, clearance, and #dollyfunfinds Yesterday, I went to target and a buttload of dolls were on clearance, as well as some accessory sets and clothes! I didn't get any dolls, but I did buy some accessory sets. I didn't take a pic of all of them 'cause they're gifts for some people😘 #spoilers After my #targetrun where I drooled in the aisles waaay too much, we hit a Goodwill store and picked up the Our Generation foal for $1.99!🦊❤🐎 Leocadia has an OG Thoroughbred horse that her G.G. gave her for her 3rd birthday. She named the *new* mama horse and foal after one of her current favorite tv shows: Vampirina. We now have Oxana and Vee. Adding to the fun, I found a bunch of tiny doll things, a #barbie fold-up house, and.... *Drum roll* .... An #americangirlbrand hammock for $1.99!!!🤓 I never get lucky at Goodwill, so these were super exciting finds for me!
