I watched The Minions movie a couple weeks ago as I’ve been rewatching the Despicable Me movies and didn’t remember if I saw it yet. The movie was pretty decent, I found the beginning (basically any scene before Scarlet) fairly boring to be honest but it got much better towards the 2nd half. I enjoyed it more then I expected. The 60s vibe and parts with the queen were really fun I thought, but my favourite thing about this movie is without a doubt Scarlet Overkill. For one I just think having a female super villain is super cool, but she was actually so funny and I love what a sassy, absoluetly unhinged diva she is. She’s sweet one second and just deranged the next second and I found her backstory very interesting. So I HAD to draw her cus I love her. What an awesome villain. I actually practiced perspective and angles with this one and used reference pictures for once. I also wanted it to look slightly comic book like. I’m honestly so pleased with it, I think I did her justice.

Maybe the reason there are more minions in Despicable Me is because Gru found a way to make more? Like clone them or some shit like that?

I made this for two people I met on Ponytown. One had a Minions skin and immediately changed to Ryo, so I knew what I had to do. Thank me later. (They proceeded to make a Ryo Minion skin afterwards 😭😭)

Instant “kids’Classics
Wall-E (2008)
I loved Wall-E, so so so much. It’s accurate portrayal of the future of planet Earth, the emotions Wall-E developed for work, the planet, it’s survival and mindset and of course for EVE. Most important to the story, that’s done in a way kids and adults can understand and see, is how Wall-Es development is all done by personal growth and kindness and effort. But this movie is overall for the benefits of kids, to see how automation can destroy them in the future both by not going out or connecting with others but also by relying too much on technology (that tries to keep the humans under their control).
Along with the overall notes to humans, I love that so much of this film has no words. The lack of words isn’t because Wall-E nor EVE speak a particular language other than robot either, but because a good portion of it is in solidarity or confusion there isn’t much we can understand by words—but we see their actions which show to be just as important as words, if not more
Up (2009)
Yo! Yoooooooooo, this film was a lot darker than expected. Forget the first few minutes of pure heartbreak, where the hell did this villain come from? I know Scar tries to kills Mufasa and Cruella De Vil captured people and pups for a coat, but still—this guy could have jumped out of the screen to get us—Ring style!
This was an instant classic for kids and adults, because it’s hysterical Carl and Russell are both funny on their own, but they also thrive together as two people who would have the same relationship regardless of their individual ages. Carl is trying to hold onto his youth and have some peace and Russell is trying to be an adult while also having an adventure. While they will usually have opposing ideas and views about things based on their own agendas they do have a similar mindset and will continue to be friends long after this adventure.
PS—Minions (2015), I love, love, love this film. It’s not particularly clever or emotional, just so funny. Even for the fact that the main food they like…is food that looks just like them—what?
idea for the next despicable me movie. one of the minions wishes on the monkey's paw "MEENA WANNA BIGGA WEENIE!" and at first he sprouts a four-incher (which is huge for such a little guy) much to his delight but then it keeps growing nonstop and knocks the monkey's paw down the sewer so the gang has to go on an adventure to find it before the whole city is engulfed in stretchy yellow minion dick. and they say the magic words "BIGGA WEENIE BYE-BYE!" and he looks down and realizes he is now cockless and screams and everyone shares a laugh. until one of them picks up the monkey's paw and says "MEENA WANNA BIGGA BOOTY!" and a minion looks at the audience with a here-we-go-again expression and the credits roll.
Just remembered a dream I had last night.

So, the dream was about Gru and the minions, right? So, Gru was making the minions build a new place, and for some weird reason every few minutes while in the base, Gru would close his eyes and the next thing I knew he's half naked and a bunch of minions are opening his legs for another minion to enter him... Yea.... It was a weird dream....
