Hey, making yet another post about some music I listened to at 2:00 while out on a midnight walk. Iām gonna put a disclaimer for whoever may see this post but I just want to vent a little bit at the bottom of this post and if youāre only interested in the albums then here they are with some of my thoughts on them written underneath.
Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist - VOIR DIRE (2023)
An amazing album with vivid wordplay by Earl and The Alchemist's immaculate and beautiful beats to serenade the listener. My only real complaint is that it's only 22 minutes long. I'll give it a 10/10.
CYBEREALITYć©ć¤ć - Midnight Walk (2013)
I had this album written down in a list for a long time now and i figured it would fit to listen to this during my walk. I never saw when it was released until i checked near the last few tracks. I thought that it was more of a chopped & screwed record near the first half as the beats were slowed down and the vocals were slowed and also pitched down a bit. Also, a majority of the tracks used beats from MF DOOM. Overall for a vaporwave album released in the infancy of the genre, I'll give it a 8/10.

Now, to vent. I've mentioned in some posts that I sometimes go on midnight walks just to clear my mind but sometimes it doesn't feel like it works too well. I never want to use my blog as a place to vent fully and air out my problems and make it other peoples problems or just seem like I'm doing some sort of attention seeking post to stoke the flames of activity on my page. I feel like a fucking loser sometimes cause I either get a nervous stutter sometimes or realize my voice sounds like I'm slurring words together or repeating the same few words. It doesn't help either that putting out applications and getting nothing back is just a bit disheartening. I don't know if these episodes of sad feeling or other awful shit would lessen if I go back to therapy or just fix my sleep schedule. Forgive me for venting publicly like this, whether you're a mutual to me or some random stranger on here who just managed to find this post in some fucked up irony. Either way, I thank you for your time and I wish you a good day/night, good health, and that things get better for whoever may read this. I donāt have any plans or ideations but Iām gonna hop off and probably take a nap.
Followed through with my plans and I gave Resin another shot and I think I find it almost on par with Ramona. I remember talking with a mutual in the past about it and I remember describing its vibes on par with an infomercial VHS which I believe is somewhat accurate but with this relisten, I felt like I managed to piece together a bit of a story with it. I feel as though itās a story of Bill after his success with his album Ramona and trying to make it more out there, hence the intro of the album with the character DJ Hentai Daddy who makes fun of him and his music and tells him how these people want something fire. This leads to Bill incorporating and emulating some rap that youād probably hear coming from the south or directly mentioning other artists like Big Boi of Outkast or DJ Screw but also hiding away his true music or perhaps his real self on the other half of tracks. Near the end he begins to realize just how lonely and draining it is to try and ride this wave of success yet thereās no conclusion, as if the story is still going or Bill is trying to still find an answer to his problem. Even if Iām overthinking this or Iām just sounding like Iām spewing bullshit, this album had struck a chord with me that Iād never knew it could hit. I might not relate to the fame of it or the success but just the vulnerability he talks about in some of the lyric just hit different and had me see it in a new light.
Iām sorry if the last sentence sounded depressing. I also managed to get two pics that Iād like to share of an abandoned building Iāve posted about before. Think of it like an update.
The power to the building seems to have finally been shut off. I donāt know if the power was shut off manually by workers or was knocked out by the storms in the area but I can say one thing for sure, itās probably never coming back on. The area around it was much darker in person than the way they appear now when I took the pictures.
New Kill Bill single! Itās sounds amazing and reminds me of his earlier stuff off Ramona and Resin even though Bill didnāt produce the track. I wonder if this means weāll be getting a new album? Oh well. Will probably go for a walk in the rain about an hour after this post is made and give Resin another shot.
Hello everyone. It's been quite some time since i last posted and I'm truly sorry but i shall try and be a little more active. Anyways, here are some (pretty overdue) albums i had listened to. Enjoy.
Usually I'd give my favorite tracks but I felt burnt out with music in general but I feel refreshed enough to go back to listening to albums. I believe that my first album back will either be Revolutionary Vol. 1 by Immortal Technique or 2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole but I think I'll go with the first choice as one song has me curious from it. Have a good day/night.
My box set of Chromakopia came in! It took me forever to figure out how to assemble the container but I got it now. Will probably post a bunch of albums that I listened to recently since Iāve been forgetting to post here.
Sat down and listened to an album that @delarai recommended me. This is Lupe Fiascoās Samurai. I really enjoyed this project and the clever lyrics and storytelling in tracks like Mumble Rap, Palace and Bigfoot. The production throughout it is also amazing. The first beginning tracks like Samurai and Cake is like early Lupe but the latter half is more relaxed and almost lofi-esque until it circles back at the end with Til Eternity. Overall, really solid project.
Favorite tracks: Samurai, Mumble Rap, No. 1 Headband, Bigfoot, Cake.
Rest in peace to an underground rapper/producer and veteran of the New York Fire Department, Ka. I listened to Orpheus vs the sirens a while back but I remember falling in love with the production and samples throughout the album and Kaās raspy vocals as the whole album reminded me of something by MF DOOM. If you have the time, please check out this album, you wonāt regret it. As for me, Iām gonna check some of his solo projects he made.
