If Zoro ever defeats Mihawk…

Ps - Mihawk is depicted as Zoro’s father figure in this text

"so that I may surpass you...!!!"

(Not proofread)

Non-canon but…

I think when Zoro kills Mihawk in their final duel, it would be a state where he finally achieves his dream that he worked on so hard for him to be happy, yet to feel a little empty at the same time. I’d have to agree that if Zoro does kill Mihawk, he’d achieve his dream, fulfill his promise to Kuina, and put Mihawk at rest, which gives a happy ending for him, honor for his late best friend, and rest for Mihawk since he’s grown tired of life.

Though, in the lens of how I view Zoro and Mihawk’s relationship, I truly believe, from my heart of hearts, that Mihawk was somehow a parental figure to Zoro. Other viewers of One Piece might not see the vision or see the vision. In some people’s eyes, Mihawk was only Zoro’s mentor and rival, which is of course true, I am not against it, but how I view them might be a different story.

Zoro was already orphaned, he had no parental figures since both of his biological parents died when he was still very young, meaning he probably does not have much memory of them and wasn’t guided in life as much because of that. He had no parental guidance in life.

Now, during the timeskip, Mihawk played a crucial role in developing Zoro’s swordsmanship. He has provided and taken Zoro under his care to train him to defeat him all because he saw that Zoro’s actions were no longer for himself, but for his captain, that “he found a greater cause rather than his own ambition”. Surely, he isn’t the type of father figure that would coddle up Zoro and be soft around him since he plays mentor, he is supposed to make him reach a better version of himself. Though, I see the potential and why some may think he is a father figure to Zoro.

A parental figure is someone who gives guidance, care, support, etc. that resembles an absent parent’s role. Mihawk gives these to Zoro for the two years in the timeskip, he is a role model to Zoro and he teaches and guides Zoro to defeat him. Zoro, an orphan, being taken care of and taught by the world’s greatest swordsman himself. Living in his castle. Eating his food. Under his care. For two years. For once, other than the strawhats, Zoro has been taken care of, under none other than Mihawk. The castle is a training ground yet a house to him. Where he eats, showers(? Considering Mihawk’s toilet…), and sleeps, he is doing it in the same grounds where Mihawk is.

Do you think that maybe, if Zoro had killed his mentor, the one who saved his own seat of the worlds greatest swordsman for Zoro to sit on next, the one who cooked, gave him a house to live on for the next two years when he was separated from his crew, that he wouldn’t be a little sad and empty? Mihawk wouldn’t exactly be the best father figure unlike some others, but he would definitely be a memorable one to Zoro, all because the worlds greatest decided to be his mentor and care for him slightly like a father would.

So when Zoro finally sees Mihawk’s head roll before him, I would like to think that he would feel free and happy he achieved his goal, and a little empty, where he finally acknowledges that in a way, he did see him as a mentor-father type of person in his life.

This is overall subjective and what if statements which isn’t well supported, but I just wanted to share what I thought:,,)

Credits to its only blood by MissingN000 on ao3 (heartbreaking fic), it helped me write this.

just another trope I'd like to see more of.

feral person A with leash holder person B, except, hear me out, it's not in the 'i own you' or 'i control you' kinda way.

it's in the way where person B is fully aware of how feral person A is...and simply shows them who to direct it on, gives them something to protect, gives them a target, the leash is just for show, just to let people know where the demon person A was sent from.

imagine in a fight or something and person A is holding back either not fighting and being somewhere else or not fighting at their full ability, only to get a nod from person B and everyone just goes "oh...shit" and person A is just like a switch, the leash has been dropped but in all honesty the leash was just there for show, for person A to find their way back like some giant bloodthirsty cat dropping off their prey proudly. and person B? you'd expect them to give person A a telling off, a lesson on morals at least...but no, they pat A's head proudly and praise them, tell them that they did such a good job

"look at you! you only killed five of the guys we needed alive!"

Everyone be lookin at person B like ' bitch get yo dawg' while person B is actively encouraging person A to be even more feral. (they probs think it's hot)

bro im so fed up of reading fan fics or seeing art of two characters and one of them just gets nerfed.

Like- WHERE'D HIS MUSCLES GO!? they twinkify him (can i still say this? is this word allowed anymore idk) and the other dude still has his muscles?? WHY!?

or in fan fics, suddenly the guy is a blushing mess and he's supper shy when the guy has legit killed and will kill again or like blown shit up before (can't think of good examples but you get what i mean)

i know people can write / draw whatever they want but can people just accept that you can have two buff dudes without turning one into a ridiculously feminine version of themselves?

Can we just have more gay ships where it's just two bros punching each other and rolling around in the dirt because why tf not?

LET THE BUFF SHIPS LIVE!

Random one piece headcannons

I know I should be working on the two fics I decided to start but...shhh

Zoro has green eyelashes. Just something about it makes sense and it would look pretty cool

Zoro uas definitely lost feeling in his feet after he tried to slice the buggers off...in the moment it may have seemed like a good idea but now he has feet of steel. Others on the crew are worried but he likes the advantage of having less feeling in them. Realistically this could affect his balance but if we say it's just slight damage to the point where he cant really feel the pain or temperature on his feet then he'd probably be happy about it.

Nami has scars and remnants of hours the arlong tattoo underneath the new one. Because did you see how she was going at it? ain't no way she's got no scars. And as for the tattoo, i don't know what kinda magic they've got in that world to remove tatoos so perfectly in one go but I like the idea that it's there but really faded like a reminder as well as the scars.

Luffy has stretch marks....my guy has stretched so much and I know its his devil fruit and all but there'd scenes where he can only reach so far. So if he does that often (stretching himself as far as he can go and then trying to go too far) he should surely have stretch marks.

Luffy probably had bite mark scars, like he fully chompin on those thumbs like he's Eren Yeager, he has some teeth scars and I ain't listening to criticism on this

my asks are open, you can ask for drabbles, headcannons, fics or whatever, even just for a chat, you lot are welcome to say hi.

something to add with the whole food motivation, yknow the ark when the crew are on an island full of bounty hunters that are literally tricking them and trying o kill them?

He legit fights his own second in command...because they fed him. Like, he full on ignores anything zoro is saying and is fighting him and getting all pissed off because they gave him food so they definitely cant be trying to hurt them.

i dunno if thats because luffy is just oblivious or what but he is definitely motivated by food lol

Luffy not wanting to be viewed as a hero is actually so important to me. Because while the first reasoning we get for this is him not wanting to share his food

Luffy Not Wanting To Be Viewed As A Hero Is Actually So Important To Me. Because While The First Reasoning

We also learn later on that Luffy also doesn't want to be viewed as a savior, nor does he ever want to present himself as such. He doesn't want to be placed on a pedestal or (ironically) be deified by the people he helps.

At the end of Fishman island, he was fully ready to leave without fanfare because he did not want to be treated by the people in that way, and only agrees to stay because he is promised food. The same thing happens at the end of Wano, where he refuses to take any credit for the downfall of Kaido and instead simply enjoys the festival with everyone else.

I cannot overstate how much I love this decision for Luffy as a character. It is incredibly common for stories like Fishman Island and Wano to have the main character swoop in and save the oppressed people, with said character being to sole person to rally them and "teach" them how to fight back. We don't get that with Luffy.

In Fishman Island, he tells the people that its up to them to decide whether or not he is their friend or foe instead of swooping in playing the role of the hero. In Wano, he understands to importance of who begins the fight with Kaido, and stands back to let the Red Scabbards (Wano natives) get the first major hit on Kaido

Luffy Not Wanting To Be Viewed As A Hero Is Actually So Important To Me. Because While The First Reasoning

Even in the prison when Luffy gives his speech, he is asking the people to let him help, to have faith that they and their country can be free again, to fight for the freedom that had been cruelly stripped away from them. And even then, it is Momo and members of the Red Scabbards that fully restore the Udon prisoners faith.

Hell, we even see this all the way back in Arlong Park, where Luffy waits to take action until Nami asks him for help. He doesn't come in guns blazing and save her like some sort of white knight, but instead waits for Nami's go ahead, placing the power in her hand.

It's just such a refreshing way of seeing a protagonist in this type of story be portrayed. To have him understand the importance of the people he fight's side by side with, and not place himself as the fixer of all problems, but rather as an aid to these people (often times an aid that they explicitly asked for). It actively rejects the white savior/white knight trope(s) and allows for the people native to the island to have agency in these large battles instead of being sidelined. It is their lives and stories that are centered as being the most important in these moments, and Luffy is simply there to help them.

One Piece headcannons, reader with allergies.

I have a desire to write but the ideas are moving to fast in my head lol. My requests are open and I can write full stories/oneshots not just headcannons. I promise i dont bite :]

CHOPPER

(This one is intended as platonic because, well...bros a reindeer.)

You got incredibly lucky finding this guy, no matter what time you joined the crew. Since chopper is a doctor he definitely feels like a blessing. As soon as he found out about your allergies he started his research (if he didn't already know about it). Finds a cure or a medicine to help with the symptoms and reactions for your allergies. This precious doctor even warns the other crew about what you can't have near you.

In return for his kindness you are now his designated hiding spot for when shit goes down.

LUFFY

He was definitely curious as to why you were constantly taking medicine or having to stay with chopper since you were unwell. Eventually he just outright asked what was wrong with you. He didn't get it at first but once he did he responded with...let's say an interest?

He loudly makes sure that whenever everyone's eating that the food (if you're allergic to a food) is nowhere near you, but let's be honest he probably eats it before it gets even a metre from you, saying something like "I was just keeping Y/ N safe!" when someone complains about their food being stolen. However, if you're allergic to a specific animal or item he makes sure it non-existent on his ship.

NAMI

Just like luffy she makes sure the allergen (the thing you're allergic to) is nowhere to be found. Since you mean so much to her she'd be willing to part with some money to pay for medicines or doctors if chopper couldn't help (luckily for nami thats a rare chance).

sorry this ones so short, I've never really written anything for nami before.

SANJI

If you have a food allergy this man is catering to your every need, making new recipes or even a completely different dish to the rest of the crew if needs be. Oh, you like spaghetti but you're allergic to pasta? Bam, special pasta you're not allergic to, just for you. He can and probably will fight luffy to keep him away from your special food.

If youre allergic to something that isn't food his dramatic ass would probably follow you around in new places to make sure it's not anywhere near you. (and if this gets annoying just give him a compliment, he'll pass out from blood loss and leave you in peace)

USSOP

When you're allergies are bad and it leaves you bed ridden, sniffling or coughing, he'll tell you stories just like he did with kaya. You'll be laying in bed, cursing your allergies while trying to not break your ribs from laughing at ussops silly tales. He always makes you feel much better.

ZORO

He probably didn't even know what an allergy was lmao. Maybe he thought it was some sort of pest (close enough)

If youre allergic to food we already know sanji will be making sure you're safe but zoro is definitely jealous that he can't do anything about it....unless.... if you guys are on a new island and you're not sure if your food has your allergen in it, zoro is the first to offer his help (well, it was luffy first but we all know what would happen).

If your allergen isn't food, just like sanji, he's following you around but he's definitely more of a silent protector compared to sanji. A plant you're allergic to in your path? not on his watch, it's cut down before you can even think of how to get around it.

Let me know if you have any tips or if there's any mistakes!

At 1am I Was Sitting And Writing One Paper And I Had To Go To The Wiki To Check Something About Zoro,

at 1am i was sitting and writing one paper and i had to go to the wiki to check something about zoro, but in the end i tried to figure out his family tree for a long time...

maybe i had a crazy idea about it, like at 1am a tired brain can come up with anything, but i need to tell someone.

as far as i understand, zoro always, even before meeting kuina, wanted to become the strongest swordsman, but nowhere was a specific reason for this goal stated. in sbs in volume 105 zoro's family tree was shown, his mother died of illness, and his father died in a battle with pirates. could it be that the death of his parents, in particular his father, pushed zoro to the idea of becoming the strongest swordsman? although here too it is not clear in what period of time they died. wiki says that zoro became an orphan at the age of 8, but this information is only there and sources for it are not given, so it is doubtful. but if zoro's relatives really died when he was already of conscious age, then it could have played on him somehow, and kuina's death later only reinforced this desire? maybe he personally watched his father's death and it somehow affected him, but these are just thoughts...

in short, I would be interested in learning more about zoro's family, maybe someday they will reveal it better (like damn, his grandparents fought off a village from bandits a long time ago, and their son married the daughter of those same bandits, it's such a joke!). what do you think in general, would you like more information about zoro's family or do you think differently?

sorry if anything is unclear, english is not my native language
